Adding document to a page

Hi Experts,
I am working with EP7.0 and we have configured a page to show in the tool. I want the manual to use the tool (a .pps file) to be accessible from the same page - read only.
Which is the easiest way to do this? Is it possible to do it with configuration?
Any suggestion will help!

There are many ways to implement this, but you need to create a iView
Some:-
Portal component with Dynpage:
1. Create a portal component using NWDS
2. You can store the document under the component folder itself or (BEST) put a document in a common place which is accessble by your portal(eg: KM Folder). Refer the stored document from portal componet through a link.
3. Create an iVew from par and assign the iView to Page
Webdynpro iView:
1. You can also create webdynpro based (java/ABAP) applications for this.
URL iView:
1. Create a URL iview to refer the document
2. Navigate to this iView when its refered. for example (second level navigation)

Document opening to page 2 rather than 1

have a pdf manual, where the first page use to be the table of contents, so i bookmarked it. added in a title page later before the table of contents. the document now opens to page 2 (table of contents bookmark) instead of page 1. tried bookmarking the first page to see if that would help but no luck. could someone please help me get it to open to page 1. i could redo the entire book but would prefer not to, considering how many bookmarks there are. thank you in advance.

Are all the bookmarks wrong? If just that first one, I know there were properties in v7(not sure about any other versions) where you could right click on the bookmark, go to Properties, then the Actions Tab. Under Actions is one called 'go to a page in this document'. If you edit that Action, you should be able to change the page #.

Same problem here (no graphics in header or footer) and the problem has been reported months ago. It is another bug/feature lost when Apple moves from 09 to the iCloud-compatible versions. Complain to Apple, you may have better chance than me and they may finally listen to their users....

Can't open documents created in Pages with macBook pro running maverick

Hello,
I just bought the new MacBook Pro and downloaded iWork. Now when I create a document in Pages and save it to Documents, I can't open it. I get an error messages saying a file is missing. Also, all my old documents created with Pages that I transfered from my old MacBook won't open. It says file too old, need to save to Pages 09.
Tried opening the old documents in Pages 08 and saving them, but still can't open them.
Any suggestions?

Further to my earlier post about this problem, our IT man came in to the office, by coincidence, so I grabbed him and it seems that he has cracked it.
You need to proceed as follows :
Select the document by single click on the icon (i.e. select it but don't double click which will try to open it.)
Go to File Menu and chose "Get Info"
Half way down the drop down menu, chose "Open with" then select Pages 4.0 (i.e. the iWorks 9 version)
This process will open that particular iWorks 8 document.
But, if you also tick the "Change All" box it means that opening with the new version of Pages will become the default and will apply to all iWork 8 documents so you should not need to bother with this ever again.
So far, that seems to work.
(One might have thought it would have been a good idea for Apple to have built this in as a default ?)

Excise Invoice Tab Page/ Document Info Tab Page is not appearing in MIGO

For a particular job work PO , with account assignment category F & item category L, non valuaated material, when we are doing migo, excise invoice tab page/ Document Info tab page is not appearing in document header. From The said tab page we can select the challan.
In J1ID, I have maintained Vendor PAN number and also material chpter id combination.

My iMac just crashed, and I had some documents open in Pages that were unsaved. Is there a temporary file or backup file that I can access as on a PC? (I have just looked in Timemachine which I had operating, but it did not seem to have any temp files).

If you didn't save, nothing is recoverable.
iWork apps don't create temp files so, as far as you on't save something, Time Machine can't archive it.

How do I add page numbers to my document without the page numbers automatically changing. I do not want the page numbers the software automatically places into my document.

How do I add page numbers to my document without the page numbers automatically changing? The title page is blank, I can type in 1 on the 1st typed page, but the #1 automatically goes into the next page and will not change.

Click at bottom of the first page:
Menu > Insert > Section break
Click somewhere in the 2nd page (not the header/footer)
Inspector > Layout > Section > Page Numbers > Start at 1 > Configuration > uncheck use previous headers and footers
Click into the header or footer of the second page:
Menu > Insert > Auto Page Numbers…
If there is anything in the header or footer on the first page that you don't want just select it and delete it.
If you really wanted to manual place page numbers on each page you will have to use a section break between each and every page. I can't imagine that would be useful.

Unfortunately, I do not believe that it is possible for a DAQ board to generate an AI Start Trigger from an analog trigger, but not be triggered itself until it receives a digital trigger.

How to open document made in Pages 5 in Pages 4 if i don't want to update Mountain Lion to Mavericks? Does anybody know the ways?

The person that created the Pages v5 document exports it as a Pages ’09 document, or you don't open it in Pages ’09, as the Pages v5 document architecture is not backwards compatible.

In my portfolio, one document of 6 pages, only the first page appears and i can't move to the other

up a portfolio of different pdfs. 1 document has 6 pages, but I can only see the first page. When I worked on it at home, an arrow
appeared at the bottom of the first page by which I could move to the other pages. Now here at work, there is no arrow and it is just stuck on the first page. I am working with Acrobat X.

We saw an "Attach Files" button on Laura's page the other day, though others of us could not figure out how to display it. It is apparent to me that Laura and Cathy have this "Attach Files" button showing up in their reply pages, but it sounds like this is happening in error. Laura provided this screen capture:

I am unable to call up a folder from my documents files in pages. I haven't accessed it in a while but did not delete it and now cannot find it either through finder or a search of all saved documents. Not in my trash either. Where did I hide it?!?

Try Find Any File (also available in the Mac App Store). This will find hidden & invisible files as well as those in the various Libraries.

Converting a paper document to ADOBE Page

hi guys,
I have a task like this To convert a paper document to ADOBE page and i should edit that page also.
I have converted a doc to ADOBE page and when i open that doc in ADOBE Life cycle designer, it opens as an image (so we cant edit that).
Is there any idea to convert that document as an editable one.

HELP --- Error while adding Portlets to the Page. (WWC-44012)

Hi all,
I have a pl/sql portlet. It compiles fine and shows up perfectly in portlet repository. But when i add this to the page, I get following error

I checked the portlet specification file (.pks) and body file (.pkb) for any mistakes but they seems fine.
Does anyone know what can cause this error?

Could you provide some more details about your code? I will try to look into possible causes of the error. One thing you may try is subscribing to the Knowledge Exchange on http://portalcenter.oracle.com. Then you could post your code in your community folder and everyone would be able to test it out.
Of course, this means you must be willing to share your code with everyone.

Document created in Pages 06 will no longer open with it!

I have a document created in Pages 06. I have the trial version of Pages 08, but it's run out of it's trial period. I just opened the document briefly to read it, and 08 opened it. I wanted to see it in 06, as I needed to change it and save it, but, once closed, if I try to open it with version 2, I get a message saying it needs a newer version to open it! Get Info makes it appear that I can open it with version 2 by selecting that, but in the end, I get the same error message. It's looking like I'm being forced into upgrading here! Any help? P.S. In Get Info window, I see that version 3 is marked "default." Perhaps if there were a way to change that, I'd be OK. But "changing all" in that same window does not fix the problem.

It would appear that you saved that document at least once with Pages 3/'08. Unless you marked the box to save in iWork '06 format, it will save in the current version. Changing would require opening it in Pages 3 & saving as iWork '06.
