Adding Events Without a Specific Time

Sometimes I want to add an event to a calendar that has no specific time and is not an "all day event." I can't seem to figure out how to do it.

Having worked for years (decades?) with Palm on a Sony Clio I wonder why iCal is not simply allowing to time (or not) entries without having a names "event" and all that nonsense. The items without time simply display at the top. The ToDo list would be a way out but that is not an option on my iPod touch.
Just a beginning Mac fan and wondering if there is an answer?

Can Siri set a Reminder WITHOUT a specific time or place?

I love siri's Reminder feature, but I can't seem to figure something out. What if I want to ask Siri "Remind me to buy milk," then siri says "ok, when would you like me to remind you?" I want to be able to set a reminder WITHOUT a specific time. So then I say "No specific time," and siri dismisses the reminder.
Is there a proper voice command when she asks "When should i remind you?" Like "Just make a todo, don't set an alarm"
Or should I not be asking for a reminder? Asking for a ToDo hasn't worked.

How to find the reason of database lock or wait event as per specific time?

As a part of a job that was running last night by the developers, they encountered an issue wherein a certain constraint was getting hung. I think there was a lock on that specific table.
This happened at between 3.48 AM and 5.59 AM today morning. How can i find out the reason for that specific event for this time duration??
Just an FYI, Later when the job was killed and restarted afterwards it ran fine.

How do you set a calendar alarm for a specific time on the day of the event without it being an all-day event

Does anyone know how to set a calendar alert at a specific time on the day of the event.
So that the alert date adjusts accordingly if you were to copy and past it to another date.
The custom alert function kind of does this, but because it is an absolute alert (not relative) it will still refer to the date you initially set it to when you copy and paste it to another date. So this creates more work where you would have to go and manually change all the custom alerts. I have potential

Greetings: Set the alarm to message you (on your screen) and then snooze it every day for 15 days, or, set 15 separate alarm messages. There is probably an AppleScript somewhere on the web too, try searching that way as well.

Month View - Print Events Without Time

Is there a way to print events in month view without the time? Alternately, is there a way to print all the words in an all-day event in month view? Sometimes I type a paragraph for an event, and as long as it's a timed event, iCal displays all the words. But if it's an all-day event, iCal only shows the first few words, because it wants to keep it on one line. Printing the time in month view gets in the way sometimes.
This may be an option that doesn't exist yet, so Apple - help me out please!

iCal will not print without displaying the times.
If you are willing to use the Preview application, you could take a screen shot of your preferred iCal window, and print using the Preview print menu.

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Note if you have failed to move contacts and calendar items across you should create one dummy entry of each in your new profile and iTunes should merge the existing data from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library or a backup then then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.

Can I print a calander without showing the times of events. Or, alternatively, is there a way to list things without having them be an event. Just notes on the day, for instance.

It seems like a simple solution must be at hand. There is an option in the iCal Preferences (General) panel--Show event times. With this command unchecked the screen view of the month view is free of the times of day, but when I print the month view the times of day are printed.

Pro Debug Event - Error 290 /tick time

Suddenly a project I was working (and all the auto-saved folders) could not open anymore by giving me the following message: "Pro Debug Event - error 290 tick time"

Also, I always convert/ingest my media to use the same format that runs natively in PPro and does not require conforming.
Second, with regards to losing work with projects that can't be fixed. I always save my projects incrementally to new names as I go. When I hit an issue that cannot be resolved (and occasionally I do), I reopen the previously saved project and try something else. In fact today I hit a stack error. It was a three-day edit, and I was on version "(project name)_028.prproj" I just opened up the previous version "..._027.prproj", repeated the few edits that I lost in "028" and rendered without error. Follow that?
Anyway, read the link above for a possible fix.

Siri Reminder Date fixes a specific time

I have been fixing reminders in the morning for when I get to work, whenver I set a date, "Remind me to call Bill when I get to work on Wednesday morning," it fixes the reminder at either 7AM or when I get to the office, whichever comes first. This is because my alarm is set to 6AM, even though I don't go into work till 10. This is rather frustrating because I can't adjust the reminder by hand so I have to save it and then go into reminders to make the adjustment, which almost eliminates any efficiency to using Siri.
It's interesting to note that if I say, "Remind me to call Bill when I get to work on Wednesday" it sets the time at 9AM,
I still haven't figured out anyway to:
1. Set a default time for reminders (by location)
2. Set a default date, but not set a default time for reminders.
Has anyone figured this out?

What I have found is that if you want to create a location-based reminder using Siri such that it doesn't create a fixed time OR location trigger (e.g. the earlier of arriving at work or 9am) then you shouldn't specify a specific date. For example, if I tell Siri to remind to call my wife when I leave work, it will create the reminder WITHOUT adding a specific time. If I tell Siri to remind me to call my wife tomorrow when I leave work, it adds a time and the location, and then makes it conditional upon arriving at work or 9am.

Not getting Yahoo emails on Q5 except for a specific time span

My Q5 started to have this issue started about 4, 5 days ago. I dont get any Yahoo emails except for an approx 5 hr time span at specific times of the day. All other times I do not get any emails at all, not even when pressing the "refresh" icon.
I have deleted / rebooted/re-added the yahoo account multiple times without any improvement. I have also tested for improvement by taking away the "rim." in the settings (IMAP and SMPT), no help.
Well, right after re-adding the acct, the missing emails showed up, but that was it. It doesn't update my emails until that specific time of the day (for me that time span is from midnight to ~5am). I'm able to send out email fine.
Anyone has any suggestions?

The password disappeared again, so I changed the password as you suggested.
I discovered that Yahoo had changed the password requirements, and that was likely causing the problem.
(I wish the error message had been more specific so I would have known that was the issue earlier).
I created a new password according to the new Yahoo password requirements, and I have not had any other problems with it so far.

It was not me it was user cb_ca and the above is what they posted. You can ask that user your question, just click the envelope icon on the middle of the page near the top and you can send them a message, just enter the users name mentioned above and type your message.

Event at a specific moment of a data acquisition

I'm trying to create a VI which should perform data acquisition during which an event should happen.
The full problem is:
I have to do data acquisition (sampling rate up to 100000 samples/sec) of the voltage of a deformed 60 Hz sine wave signal. This data acquisition is saved into a file (Excel or DIAdem compatible) and is not displayed to the user of the VI in real-time (no worrying about displaying a graph). The problem is that after a fixed number of periods has been acquired, at a specific angle of the ideal sine wave (0° being the beginning of the sine wave, 90° the positive maxima...), a digital signal has to be sent to modify part of the circuit we are analysing, while continuing to gather data. I know that using an analog trigger, I can find a 0° point easily, then, knowing the sampling rate and the input signal's frequency, I know the number of samples to wait before the angle. What I don't know though is how to do this event at that specific moment without interrupting the data acquisition.
I am using LV7.1 with a NI-6110 DAQ device configured with NI-DAQmx. If you need additionnal information to answer, then just ask me.

I'm not sure why your counter would be counting too fast, but it might have something to do with the comparator circuit. Are you able to count edges successfully with your counter? I would suggest using the LabVIEW shipping example "Count Digital Events.vi" that can be found by accessing Help>>Find Examples in LabVIEW and then browsing to Hardware Input and Output>>DAQmx>>Counter Measurements. You will need to connect your comparator output to the source input of the counter.
If this VI works for you then I have another suggestion along the lines of Kevin's earlier suggestion to use two counters. The counters on your board can be configured to output a pulse once the counter reaches your Terminal Count (i.e. the highest value the counter can reach before rolling over to zero). Your PCI-6110 has 24-bit counters, so the terminal count will be 2^24-1 or 16777215.
By using the first counter to count zero crossing events from your comparator and setting the initial count to be a certain number of counts less than the Terminal Count you can output a pulse after a user-specified number of rising edges. This output can then be routed to trigger pulse train generation on the second counter of specified frequency and length. Finally, you can route this generated pulse train to be the external clock for your analog input operation.
I have attached a modified edge counting example that shows how to route the terminal count to a pin that can be used to trigger the pulse train on the second counter. For an example of AI operation with a counter-generated pulse train, check out "Multi-Function-Ctr Retrigg Pulse Train Generation for AI Sample Clock.vi" in the Hardware Input and Output>>DAQmx>>Synchronization>>Multi-Function folder in the Example Finder.
