Adding external photo galleries, calendars, etc. in Catalyst

Is there a way of adding external photo albums, calendars (ie. yahoo, google) into a website made in Flash Catalyst?

The short answer is no. If these modules need to be within the design of the Flash Catalyst project, you can add them using Flash Builder to add them in. This method will require some effort and knowledge of ActionScript and the Flex Framework. If these modules need to next to the Flash Catalyst project, then you could modify the produced HTML file that contains the Flash Catalyst element and insert the modules.
Either way, you will have a modest amount of development to add these elements to your project.

Did you fail to sync contacts/calendars with your computer regularly?
Did you fail ot import your pics?
If so, then they are very likely gone. You can try restoring from backup.

Sharing photos, music, calendars, etc

I just got a new imac and did the migration assistant last night. Now, how do I go about keeping the iphoto, itunes and other programs matching each other on the two computers. Also, I haven't yet synced my ipods to the new computer--can I do that without causing problems? Thanks.

Keeping iPhoto and iTunes libraries absolutely in sync is no easy task. You can make an exact duplicate of your iTunes library as it is now on your new computer by doing the following:
1) Get yourself a regular FireWire cable -- you probably already have one if you used the Migration Assistant. Connect the two computers together with this cable.
2) While booting your old computer, hold down the 'T' key. When a FireWire logo appears on screen, release the T key. You should now see your old computer's hard drive on the desktop.
3) Find your Music folder on your old computer's hard drive. It's located in /Users/<<your name here>>/
4) Copy the Music folder from your old computer to the home directory on your new computer (the folder with your name on it). When Finder asks you if you want to overwrite the existing folder, say yes.
This will put your complete iTunes library from your old computer onto your new computer, complete with things like playlists (both smart and regular), statistics about your music, ratings, and soforth.
If you copy your Music folder in the way described above, when you connect your iPod to your new computer, it will sync up just perfectly. It will never even know it's connected to a different computer.
Hopefully this will at least get you started.

I am curious as to with what print service Apple partners with, or if it is an in-house operation?

They will be coming from Apple - no other company on the shipping documents
And when you order you have no say in where they come from - it might be different depending on order volumes, print loads and Apple policies
basically f you need to know then you need to order somewhere else you discloses such information - As far as I know Apple does not and it probably is sbject to change without notice

Problems with Multiple Photo Galleries

Hey all, I am having issues with multiple photo galleries. The problem is, iWeb will randomly delete old photo libraries when new ones are made.
My workflow is each blog entry has its own Photo Library attached to it, so i really would love to be able to keep this functionality.
Does anyone have any clues as to why they are getting deleted? They literally just vanish from the entries in iWeb...

i recently plugged my iphone4 into my laptop to sync, when i plugged it in, itunes told me that i needed to update my software, so i clicked up date and walked awayfrom my computer leaving it to do the rest, but by the time i came back to my laptop 2-3 hours later i had realized that it has run out of charge and because of it my phone had gone into retoration mode- and the only way to fix it was to press restore. what do i do? do i click restore or will that take my phone back to factory settings as i have a tonne of photos and videos etc that i have not backed up yet?

The first step in the upgrade process is a backup.
Did iTunes not create a new backup when you first connected it?
You really should be syncing your device and copying pictures off of it on a regular basis.
Starting an upgrade without first syncing and copying the pictures off is not a bright idea.
At this point, you only option is to restore.
Also, in the future, ensure your laptop is plugged into external power before starting upgrades.

Photo Gallery thumbnails in business catalyst render in different sizes in safari and chrome but are fine in firefox. What is the issue with Safari? I have tried the different algorithm options such as fill_proportional etc and firefox is the only browser that displays correctly. I thought safari was the most standards compatible browser - what's the problem here?

If you have seperate XML file but with the same basic structure then you can change the XML a Spry dataset refers to and regenerate the spry region without reloading the full page.
So on my photo gallery page I can change the album the photos are shown from via the seturl sprydata function as below. dsPhotos being my Spry dataset that points to the relevant XML dataset with my image references and captions etc. My XML is actually dynamically generated from Picasa RSS feeds (and RSS feeds are XML) but the principle will be the same with your static XML.
First I add an event listener for when someone clicks on an album (the li tag within my div with the id "albums" holds a photo and title for each album.)

In your case showAlbum would switch between Frank.xml or Wolfie.xml depending on how you decide to name your xml datasets.

Sorry, yes indeed you can do that, I thought you wanted to keep the accounts the way they are now and also share photo stream between all devices, which of course is not possible.
In order to login to the account you are currently logged in to as a secondary account, as a primary account, and vice versa, you will need to delete both accounts from that device and then log back into them with the correct account as a primary (settings > iCloud) and the correct account as a secondary (settings > mail, contacts, calendars).

Lightroom photo galleries and their swf files

I have a question about using the photo galleries that lightroom exports in flash catalyst. what I'm trying to do is use multiple photo galleries for different states in my flash application (www.negativeselfimage.com is the site). flash catalyst allows you to import as many swfs as you want, but the problem is the gallerydata.xml files, and the images folders, which are different for every gallery I export. I mucked my way around in flash builder to point to custom folders I built, so each swf file is in its own folder with its own materials. however, the swf file seems to be looking for gallerydata.xml in an absolute directory.
my basic question is, how can I get that swf file to either point to a relative path place (it should still be relatively the same) or allow me to change to where it points to?
either that, or -- if this seems like the wrong path -- how can I use multiple lightroom swf galleries in one flash catalyst or flash builder application?

Photo galleries

Is there a way to make the photo gallery thumbnails larger? I don't see a way to customize them, it says in the help section that you can click on customize and edit the thumbnail sizes. I don't see a customize button.

Open the page in editing mode by selecting Site Manager > Pages, and clicking the page in the tree view.
Place the cursor in the content editor where you want to insert the photo gallery.
In the Modules tab of the Toolbox found on the right of the editor, select Photo Galleries.
Select your photo gallery from the list. If you want to change the properties of the photo gallery, click Customize and adjust the properties.
Click Insert.Business Catalyst inserts a placeholder tag representing the module. Example:{module_photogallery,32174}. When you publish the page, the module replaces the placeholder tag.
Click Publish or Save Draft.

Thumbnail css on photo galleries

I could have sworn I saw this topic once before here on the
forum, but now that I've been working through the photo gallery
tutorial and am having a problem with the display of my thumbnails,
my search using css, thumbnails, and photo galleries failed.
I have adjusted the #thumbcontainer and #main divs to fit in
to my main content area (660 px wide right hand column of a 900px
css created page). Mathematically, I should be able to display
three 60x60 thumbs across, but they are showing up in a single
column down the left. In the thumb img div, I tried removing the
"float:left;" as well as resizing thumbs (to see if I could force a
two column display) but that didn't help either. I have also tried
removing the css for the gallery from my main stylesheets and
putting them inline on that page.
This is probably something simple, but it's frustrating me to
no end. Any suggestions?

Actually I "solved" my issue by backing off and using
Fireworks to create the gallery for now. I used the "spry option"
there and went in and changed it's css a bit, but that's about it.
I'll retackle getting a gallery to fit in my 2 col templates at a
later date.
You might want to consider that alternative as well, but for
issues with a main image showing up, I'd check the easy answer
first and make sure you have enough space for it width wise. Is it
possible padding is adding more than you think to the width of your
thumbnail container leaving no room for the width of your main
images?

Multiple Galleria Photo Galleries on same page

I'm trying to use multiple BC Photo Galleries and Galleria to display a project gallery of images on the same page. Also, I'm a beginer at using Javascript and JQuery, so this might be a fairly simple deal, but my lack of experience is probably getting in the way.
There are multiple sections to this project gallery; landscaping, hardscapes, night lighting, pools, etc. I'd like the user to be able to click on one of the gallery sections and the Photo Gallery switches out to the new selected gallery, so that only one gallery is showing at time, but they stay on the same html page.
I need help with the following:
1. When you first visit the page, I only want the first gallery to show up. Then switch out with the others when you click on the other sections. Is this possible with Galleria, because of the way it computes the measurements of the stage within 5 sec?
2. Not sure how to fix this error: "Init failed: Gallery instance already initialized". I know this is happening because I'm running the init function for each project gallery. Is there a better way to do this?
