Adding Field to maintenance view

Hi
I have added a field to Z Table wich has already created a maintenance view (SM30) , but this field does not appears in maintenance view even the table is active.  (This is a basic Z table with one key field, the new field is not key field)
I go to Maintenance Table Generator in SE11 and there is its Function Group but i do not know how to regenerate the Function Group and Function Module for make the new field appears in SM30.
Can somebody please help me , wich step must i do to regenerate the maintenance view in order the new field appears in SM30 ?
Regards
Frank

Hi,
Hope you have created the table and done the TMG (Table maintenance generator). Then you changed the table.
Now proceed like:
goto se11 & give your table name#
clieck on change
goto utilities-> TMG
In the TMG, just click on the icon - pencil (or press F7).
Just select all the options and press enter
Now the TMG will be regenerated.
After this please check, it will work fine.

  • Adding field in Maintenance view of table

    Hi,
    I am trying to create a custom maintanable table.  Now the requirement is I need to add one more extra  field in the maintenace view of the table which should not be in the table fields and is for display only in the maintencae view.
    I tried adding a cloumn by editing the screen program generated by the table maintenance generator. I get the the display in the maintenance view of that extra field. But I dont get the values populated.
    Can you please let me know in which PBO or PAI i should write the module programe ..
    Help will be rewarded with points.

    Hello Bluesh
    Normally the extra field should be from a table that has a foreign-key relationship to your main table. Thus, add this additional table to the list of tables for the view. If it does not have a suitable relationship you cannot add it to the list of tables.
    Afterwards add the required field to the list of view fields and set its property to 'R' = read-only.
    If correctly defined there is no need at all to modify the screen(s) or the coding of the PBO/PAI modules.
    Example: your z-table contains field KUNNR (value table KNA1) and you want to add the NAME1 field to your maintenance view
    add table KNA1 to the list of tables
    add field NAME1 to view fields
    set its property to 'R'
    regenerate function modules and screens

  • Adding fields in costing view of material master

    Hi gurus,
    I need to add 4 fields in costing view of material master. I have followed the steps in SPRO, for configuring customized screen in material master.
    1) Created a function group YMMCO and copied the screen 2904 from program SAPLMGD1.
    2) Added 4 fields in my customized screen.
    3) Created copy of 01 ( Screen reference ) to z1 in OMT3B.
    Since 2904 is not there in the sequence . I changed one 0001 sequence at the end to 2904 . I also assigned my program
    SAPLYMMCO to it. I can see the changed fields in data screen and subscreen.
    4) Then I assigned the SSq to z1 in transaction OMT3E.
    But unfortunately, when I go to MM01 to create a material , I am not able to view the fields I added in costing view.
    I have checked the screen for the previous field, it shows 2904 only.
    Two days back, I did the same thing in basic data view 1 , it was working properly. As per client's suggestion I put it in
    costing view, it is not working . Please give me suitable suggestions.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Add fields to maintenance view and update then using events

    Hi experts:
      I've created a table with 4 fields, one of them is userid. Also, there is a maintenance view to add new entries.
      I want to display user name when typing userid using events (1 or 21). I know how to do it if username is one of the fields of the table, but there is a requirement to not store username in the table, just userid.
    My question is: is possible to add a field into the maintenance view and update it using events but not store the value in DB?.
    Thanks in advance for your help.
    Regards,
    Carlos.

    In the save event just clear the entries of the field(user name) in the internal table.

  • F4 help for fields in maintenance view resp. generated maintenance screen

    Hello,
    I’m new to ABAP and I have to deal with the following requirement:
    I have a maintenance view V1 what from a maintenance screen was generated automatically by the maintenance screen generator.
    Now I have to add a search help for one field F1 of the maintenance screen. The values for the search help of F1 depend on a specific value of a second field F2 of the maintenance screen. So I need value of F2 as import parameter for f4-help. F1 and F2 come from different tables.
    As I’m new to ABAP I have several questions or thoughts:
    - I’m not able to easily add a search help to F1 because I’m using the maintenance view V1 and that’s why it is not possible to assign the import parameter F2 to the search help – right?
    - In general, its not that easy to add search help to views than tables or structures - why?
    - I’m not able to just modify the generated objects because further automatic generation of the maintenance screen will delete it – right?
    - The generated function module provides user includes to add user specific coding. Is there any chance to add a f4-help to field F1 and assign value of F2 to that search help as import parameter with coding in user include?
    - any other ideas? I did not expect this topic to be so complicated as the requirement to change f4-help in a maintenance view resp. screen isn't very special.
    can anyone help me?
    Thank You!
    Regards
    Fabian

    Hi Fabian,
    Phew! Thats quite a few questions in one... I'll try to answer them to best of my knowledge..
    You can definitely have an external Search Help for a field of a Maintenance View, by calling it directly in the Screen Action Flow, using a PROCESS ON VALUE-REQUEST (like PAI or PBO). While defining such custom code on a generated screen, always make sure you do not write the coding inside the generated includes (SVIM* or <FUGR>TOP, <FUGR>DAT, etc..). Define new includes, or use those which are not generated by View Maintenance. This way, even if the dialogue is regenerated, your custom code will not vanish.
    This will answer your questions 1 and 2 generally, and your question 3 also.
    A Maintenance View, is something where values are read and populated purely at run-time. It does not have an Entry Help or such options, as it depends on the underlying tables. I hope this further helps with questions 1 and 2.
    Coming to your question 4 and 5, which form the main question - pre-filling value of F2 while calling search-help for F1 - yes, it is possible. On the view maintenance screen, there are standard structure variables (like EXTRACT TOTAL etc), which will give you the field values of the current record. But, it can no way assure that when you call the help for F1, the field F2 is already filled!
    For this, I can suggest that you programmatically implement a check to see if F2 value is filled, and read if it is. Or, if it is not filled, maybe you can shoot a Pop-up for F2, take the value at run-time, find help for F1 and get value, and also fill the F2 value (from your implementation) into the currect screen F2 value! (Phew...it is complex...)
    But am sorry, there is no other way, wherein you can gaurentee that F2 value is pre-filled always, when you can help for F1. (You could try making F2 as obligatory on screen, but it still doesnt necessarily solve this purpose..!).
    Hope it helps. Get back to me by e-mail if you need more help, or simple post a reply.

    Copy the view V_FMC_B into ZV_FMC_B and the you will be able to add new fields to that standard view V_FMC_B

    Hi
    1 ) I need to delete the maintenance that i do to the table like i mention in previous post ?
    Yes u can delete the maintenance program created for your Z (transparent table): it'll be useless, anyway it's not necessary to delete it, but if you think it won't be used, it's better to delete it.
    2 ) create to the table maintenance view and i hide the field
    Yes, u need to create a maintenance view based on your Z (transparent) table and set the flag for the fields to be hidden.
    when i create it in the tab view fields i see just the key fields of the table why ?
    Because the system inserts the key fields by default, the other fields has to be placed manually, u can also decide to insert only the fields u need to show and manage in maintenace program, i.e. the maintenance view (but in generally a table view) can have only certain fields of a transparent table, it's not necessary it has all fields.
    in the table join condition i just put the table name do i need to do something else ?
    No u don't need to do anythingelse

  • Problem in Adding Field in the View

    Hi Friends,
            I want to add one field in the view of Interaction Center Webclient.
    I copied the view to the Custom BSP and when i try to Add the attribute in context node the Required Attribute is not available in BOL Entity.Please Help me How to Proceed this.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ashok.

    Hi,
    Create ITAB as follows:
    Fetch all the data from all the columns SME001 to SME016 in the respective columns in internal table itab.
    Make use of field-symbol to add the value of the corresponding columns as follows:-
    <FS1> as line type of ITAB
    <fs2> type any.
    Assume period selected is 007
    LOOP AT ITAB ASSIGNING <FS1>
    DO.
    IF PERIOD = 000.
    exit.
    ENDIF.
    Concatenate 'SME' period into LV_VARIABLE.
    Assign component LV_VARIABLE of structure <FS1>
    to <FS2>.
    if <FS2> is assigned.
    sum = sum + <FS2>
    endif.
    period = period - 1.
    ENDDO.
    ENDLOOP.
    So now sum will contain the sum of the values of SME001 to SME007.
    I hope it is clear.

  • Getting error while adding field to data viewer web part

    I have custom EditItemForm for a custom list having over 100 columns. That EditItemForm contains a DataFormWebPart in edit mode having over 100
    <SharePoint:FormField controls.
    If I browse for the above page in internet explorer, I got got the generic error:
    "Unable to display this Web Part. To troubleshoot the problem, open this Web page in a Microsoft SharePoint Foundation-compatible HTML editor such
    as Microsoft SharePoint Designer. If the problem persists, contact your Web server administrator.
    Correlation ID:XXXXXXX"
    I went to Log, and got the exact error details as follows,
    "Error while executing web part: System.StackOverflowException: Operation caused a stack overflow.     at
    Microsoft.Xslt.NativeMethod.CheckForSufficientStack()     at <xsl:template name="dvt_1.rowedit">(XmlQueryRuntime , XPathNavigator , Double , String )     at <xsl:template name="dvt_1.body">(XmlQueryRuntime

    results)     at System.Xml.Xsl.XslCompiledTransform.Tr..."
    Then I thought of removing some columns from the dataFormWebpart. I removed several
    <SharePoint:FormField controls from the dataFormWebpart. Then page started working fine.
    Please let us know if there is any workaround to fix this issue.
    Note: The same page was working fine in MOSS 2007 before migrating to SharePoint
    2010.
    Sharepoint Consultant from NY, USA

    In SP1 and earlier, you could sometimes fix this by breaking the "dvt_1.rowedit" template into smaller templates and calling them sequentially. Sadly, this no longer works in many cases.
    Microsoft's "fix" for this problem appears in the August 2011 CU (Possibly earlier in the June CU - haven't checked that one). They have implemented a one-second timer that artificially throws a stack overflow exception if a transform takes longer than 1
    second.
    Reflector shows us what's going on. As the stack trace shows, it's in Microsoft.Xslt.NativeMethod.CheckForSufficientStack().
    A dateTime variable has been set to Now + 1 second when a Microsoft.Xslt.NativeMethod.SetStackBarrier() method was called, then we have this gem:
    public static unsafe void CheckForSufficientStack()
    void* stackBarrier = StackBarrier;
    if (dateTime < DateTime.Now)
    throw new StackOverflowException();
    if (&stackBarrier < stackBarrier)
    throw new StackOverflowException();
    As you can see, there has been no real stack overflow, and there isn't even any provision for allowing a SharePoint admin to adjust the now-plus-one-second hack.
    The MSFT support person we spoke with said this code was added in the August CU to "prevent long transforms from bringing down the server." So... Let's see what the SP1 version of the same method looks like:
    public static unsafe void CheckForSufficientStack()
    void* stackBarrier = StackBarrier;
    if (((++callCount & 0xffff) == 0) && (dateTime.AddSeconds(5.0) < DateTime.Now))
    throw new StackOverflowException();
    if (&stackBarrier < stackBarrier)
    throw new StackOverflowException();
    Well, at least it allowed 5 seconds instead of 1....

  • Maintenance View Validations

    I have a custom table for which I am maintaining a Maintenance View.
    I want to provide some validations and checks on the fields entered by the user in that maintenance view.
    For example, if the user enters a value greater than 1000 in quantity field, I want to display a message saying that " enter only values below 1000". This is part of customer requirement.
    Can I provide validations on fields in Maintenance view and if yes, then how ?
    Thanks,
    Urmila

    Hi this may help u.
    Maintenance views offer easy ways to maintain complex application objects.
    Data distributed on several tables often forms a logical unit, for example an application object, for the user. You want to be able to display, modify and create the data of such an application object together. Normally the user is not interested in the technical implementation of the application object, that is in the distribution of the data on several tables.
    A maintenance view permits you to maintain the data of an application object together. The data is automatically distributed in the underlying database tables. The maintenance status determines which accesses to the data of the underlying tables are possible with the maintenance view.
    All the tables in a maintenance view must be linked with foreign keys, that is the join conditions for maintenance views are always derived from the foreign key (see Foreign Key Relationship and Join Condition). You cannot directly enter the join conditions as for database views.
    There are some restrictions for the attributes of the foreign keys with which the tables in a maintenance view can be linked (see Restrictions for Maintenance and Help Views).
    A standardized table maintenance transaction is provided (SM30), permitting you to maintain the data from the base tables of a maintenance view together.
    Maintenance mechanisms, like screens and processing programs, must be created from the view definition with the transaction Generate Table View (SE54). This makes it possible to create easy-to-use maintenance interfaces in a simple manner.
    You can find out how to create such maintenance mechanisms in the documentation BC - Generate Table Maintenance Dialog.
    Creating Maintenance Views
    Procedure
    Enter an explanatory short text in the field Short text.
    You can for example find the view at a later time using this short text.
    Enter the primary table of the view under Tables in the Tables/Join conditions tab page.
    Only those tables that are linked with the primary table (indirectly) with a foreign key can be included in the maintenance view.
    If required, include more tables in the view. In a maintenance view you can only insert tables that are linked to one another with foreign keys.
    Place the cursor on the primary table and choose Relationships. All existing foreign key relationships of the primary table are displayed. Select the required foreign key and choose Copy. The secondary table used in such a foreign key is included in the view. The join conditions derived from the foreign keys (see Foreign Key Relationship and Join Condition) are displayed.
    You can also insert tables that are linked by foreign key with one of the secondary tables that was already inserted. To do this, place the cursor on the secondary table and choose Relationships. Then proceed as described above.
    For maintenance and help views, there are certain restrictions on the foreign keys with which the tables can be included in the view (see Restrictions for Maintenance and Help Views). The foreign keys violating these conditions are displayed at the end of the list under the header Relationships with unsuitable cardinality.
    On the View fields tab page, select the fields that you want to copy to the view.
    Choose Table fields. All the tables contained in the view are displayed in a dialog box. Select a table. The fields of the table are now displayed in a dialog box. You can copy fields by selecting them in the first column and choosing Copy.
    All key fields of the primary table must be included in a maintenance view. In addition, all key fields of secondary tables that are not involved in the foreign key (that is, which are not linked via a join condition to a key field already included in the view) must be included in the view.
    This ensures that the records inserted with a maintenance view can be written correctly in the tables contained in the view.
    On the Selection conditions tab page, you can (optionally) formulate restrictions for the data records that can be displayed with the view (see Maintaining Selection Conditions for Views).
    The selection conditions define the data records that can be selected with the view.
    In the Maintenance status tab page, define the maintenance status of the view.
    The maintenance status defines how you can access the view data with the standard maintenance transaction (SM30).
    Choose .
    At activation, a log is written; it can be displayed with Utilities ® Activation log. If errors or warnings occurring when the view was activated, the activation log is automatically displayed.
    Go to Transaction SE54 with Environment ® Tab.maint.generator.
    From the view definition you can generate maintenance modules and maintenance interfaces that distribute the data entered with the view to the base tables of the view. You can find more information in Creating a Maintenance Dialog.
    Other Options
    Recording documentation: You can create information about using the view with Goto ® Documentation. This documentation is output for example when you print the view.
    Changing the data element of a view field: Select column Mod (modification) for the view field. The Data element field is now ready for input. You can enter a data element that refers to the same domain as the data element of the assigned table field here. Cancel the Mod flag if you want to use the data element of the assigned table field again.
    Enter the delivery class of the view: In the Maintenance status tab page, select the delivery class of the maintenance view. If you assign the delivery class G or E to the view, you must also maintain a customer namespace (key block) for the view entries. To navigate to the appropriate maintenance transaction, choose Define Customer Namespace.
    Entering the maintenance attributes of the view field: In the View fields tab page you can define the Maintenance Attributes of the view field in column F.
    Check functions: With Extras ® Runtime object ® Check you can determine whether the definition of the view in the ABAP Dictionary maintenance screen is identical to the definitions in the runtime object of the view. With Extras ® Runtime object ® Display you can display the runtime object of the view.
    table maintai9nenece generator

  • Additional Field in standard maintenance view

    Hi Experts,
    I would like to add an additional field plant in maintenance view V_TKZU3_CO (SPRO PATH: Controlling --> Product cost controlling -->Product cost planning --> Basic settings for material costing -->Overhead -->Define costing sheets ).
    What I'm planning to do is to modify the standard maintenance view V_TKZU3_CO and regenerate the table maintenance generator so that the new field will be added and populate a ztable a copy of table TKZU3 + plant...
    However what I'm afraid of is when I regenerated the table maintenance generator using the standard function group OCOE, it might impact some other standard object included..
    Do you have any idea on how can I add the additional field without modifying the standard? Or if I will apply the standard modification I'm planning.. what are the possible impacts?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi
    U can create a new table view like V_TKZU3_CO, insert your new fields and create the maintenance view program for it.

  • Unable to modify maintenance view to accommodate new field

    I have a database table for which I have created a maintenance view so that the fields can be edited.
    Now, I modified my database table and added one more
    field to it. I similarly added this new field in my view and
    activated everything. But the new field is not appearing in
    the "view" contents and neither from se54/sm30.
    Can anybody help me with this?
    I want this new field to appear in my already existing view.

    Goto SE54 and carry out the following steps:-
    1) Enter the name of the table or view.
    2) Choose Generated objects.
    3) Choose Create/Change. You go to the generated objects maintenance screen.
    4) Choose Change. A screen of reasons for changes appears.
    Select option(s) and choose Continue.
    The new field will appear in the view.

  • Maintenance View with Subset Fields

    Hi All,
    I have created a maintenance view based on a single DB table. Two key fields are defined to be as subset fields. No selection conditions are added to the view. I have used table maintenance genrator to define the screen (one step) along with the events.
    In SM30, i get the popup to fill the subset fields.
    I have created an event for AA (to replace default read). I am filling total attribute here.
    a) Is there some other attribute that i need to fill apart from total?
    I receive following dump
    " Exception condition "NO_VALUE_FOR_SUBSET_IDENT" is raised"
    When i set <status>-sbsid_rcvd = 'R' in read routine along with total, then the above exception doesn't appear.
    But filtering based on the subset values doesn't happen automatically.
    b) I also need have to have routines to perform insert, copy and validation.
    c) Would the contents displayed be automatically filtered based on the subset values or we need to process this in user routines for read and so on?
    As i find very limited documentation available for maintenance views with subset fields, could you suggest me some example to do the above?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Regards,
    Rekha

    Hello Rekha,
    Yes I've same idea, documentation for maintenance screens is inadequate.
    But there is way to find examples for all events,
    table TVIMF is storing the Table name - Event - Form name columns.
    For example when u want to  do something about  "creating a new entry"
    Just go se11 > Table maintenance generator and find related event : 05
    - Then go to TVIMF and display a record for event = 05
    - than go to function group of  maintenance screen of the TABLE in that record
    - find the subroutine form ( TVIMF-FORMNAME) in that function group
    This is a working example for that event, try or copy & use.
    I hope it helps you for the coding for all the events.
