Adding Form Numbers

Is there a way to add a unique number to the forms widget so that each time a form is submitted and I receive the email I automatically get a number like Form number 0001 has been submitted? Also is there a way to send the person who submitted the form a confirmation email that their form for successfully submitted and their form number is...

Hi
This can be done from hosting platform end, as Form submitted will generate a number and autoresponder will notify the user that form is submitted.
If you are using Adobe hosting then you can surely achieve this.
Thanks,

  • Adding form fields breaks tag structure

    I have been teaching workshops at my university on creating accessible PDF forms from MS Word. I am very familiar with PDF accessibility. For the most part, the process of field recognition, marking up tables, writing tooltips, manipulating the tag tree, etc., all goes smoothly. I have noticed something that is creating a lot more work for our people, however.
    After adding forms to the tagged PDF using recognition and the Tools > Forms > Add New Field tool, we adjust the field tab order and add tooltips. Once all of that is in place and we are ready to fine tune, we click the Tools > Accessibility > Add Form Fields to Tags button. Adding Form Fields to Tags does not work consistently if you edit the tag structure manually while in the Forms creation process. You can do some tag remediation prior to entering the Forms tool, but if you edit the tag structure while in Forms, the Adding Form Fields to Tags often does nothing -- this is certainly a bug in Acrobat X but it is not hard to work around.
    The larger problem is that after we click Add Form Fields to Tags button, the tag structure reveals itself to be very much distorted and extreme amounts of tag structure remediation is required. Here are three screen shots that illustrate the point.
    This first image shows the on-screen appearance.
    Below is the expanded tags tree, prior to adding fields to the tag structure:
    The tag structure is clean and elegant. If I were to publish this, no remediation would be necessary.
    And here is the tag structure after adding form fields:
    What has happened is Acrobat has grabbed recognized form fields and other elements in the document and has jammed them into the tag structure. Other things are affected as well. For example, headings in the page have extra, redundant textruns in them.
    This has radically negatively affected the tag structure, requiring the author to do lots of remediation.
    Any recommendations? solutions? similar experiences?
    It seems obvious to me that this is a flaw in Acrobat that needs to be addressed, if accessibility is a goal. Or perhaps I'm doing something wrong??

    Hi Daver1111,
    Nope. No answer and nothing from Adobe.
    I know something is going really really wrong, too: We have a product called CommonLook. It's an enterprise-level PDF accessibility remediation tool. It works well in fixing most structural problems in PDF through a relatively easy to use interface--you just drag textruns and elements around. It also has some tools that automate cleanup for accessibility.
    I have no problem using this tool 99% of the time, but when I use it on forms I have made in Acrobat, the CommonLook plugin hangs when I try to save the PDF. It identifies a "structural error" in the PDF and crashes, leaving the PDF unchanged.
    You can change the PDF in Acrobat by spending time moving around and creating new elements and deleting extra textruns and such, but, wow, what a royal pain in the *** that is!
    Since no one is from Adobe is responding, I'm going to file a bug report.
    Cheers,
    ken

  • Adding Form Fields to Structure

    I am working with Adobe Acrobat Pro v9 with a PowerPoint document that I converted to a PDF.  I'm working on making it accessible.  It is a simple course certificate with one form field, a text box that the user simply types their name in.  When I run Accessibility: Full Check I get one error message relating to adding form fields to structure.
    It says I need to choose Adanced Accessibility: Add Form Fields to PDF Tags.  When I do that and run the Full Check again, I continue to get the same message.
    Am I missing a step?  Or is there anything else I need to do?
    Thanks!

    Just some nattering here, but -
    After any edits/changes save the PDF before running Full Checker again.
    Open the Tags panel, expand the structure tree, from the Options menu turn on Highlight Content.
    Walk down the tree. Look for <Form>.
    From the Options menu (for the Tags panel) use "Find".
    Look for Unmarked Annotations.
    Note that "Run Form Field Recognition" will add <Form> to the structure tree.
    However, the OBJR beneath it is "generic" and not "your" form field.
    For this situation you'd have to add yours (use Find - the dialog has a button to permit tagging an item).
    Once the form field annotation is "in" the structure tree you'll want to ensure it is positioned appropriately; in context of the page's logical hierarchy.
    Be well...

    In iPhoto '11 I cannot change the book settings. For example, adding page numbers. There is no "option" button as is suggested by the help item. How can I change to book settings?

    The "options" button should appear at the bottom of the iPhoto window, when you view your book, then the Book Settings Button should be available and you can activate page numbers.
    But remember, that the settings available will depend on the Book Theme you selected. The above shows the settings for one of the "Travel" themes. In a Picture Book Theme, e.g. you cannot add page numbers.
    What theme and book size are you using?

    Hi Gordan
    Just for information, the link syntax doesn't work on the forum anymore, just paste the link in with no tags or brackets and it will be 'clickable'.
    Exactly what are you trying to achieve here?
    Have you had a look at these sites which may be of some use to you...

  • ADDING WEEK NUMBERS IN THE CALENDAR OF IPHONE

    Hi,
    haven't found option of adding week numbers on my iphone 3gs calendar. in working life week numbers are pretty important and would need the option on daily basis. i syncronise my calendar from office outlook / exchange. office supports the feature, but week numbers dont follow.
    any ideas anyone?!

    I use Google calendar and sync it to my iPhone calendar over the air via Google Sync. There are a number of "gadgets" or sub-calendars you can add to your Google calendar (i.e. Moon phases, contacts birthdays, etc.) that will sync over to iPhone. I searched for week numbers and sure enough there is a "gadget" that will add this functionality with an option of weeks starting on Sundays or Mondays. Though I've never used them, I now have week numbers on my iPhone calendar.
    You would have to set up a free gmail account to create a google calendar but you wouldn't need to use it (mail or calendar) except to sync week numbers if you don't want to. If you want to go through the (relatively) small amount of trouble to do this just start a gmail account and then follow these instructions: http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?answer=138740&topic=14252
    Except of course you will only turn on calendar. Then (on your MAC) go to your gmail and click on 'calendar' in the upper left. From there click on 'settings' in the upper right, then on the 'labs' tab. Enable the option to 'Add any gadget by URL.' Save this setting then go back to the calender itself and on the right where it says 'Gadget URL' paste http://sites.google.com/site/gcalweeknumbers/Home/calendar-gadget.xml
    Then, on your phone's web browser go to http://m.google.com/sync and sign in with your gmail info. Bookmark this page. Select your device and check the boxes for 'My Calendars' and 'Week Numbers'. Now when you open the calendar app on iPhone tap 'calendars' on the upper left and you should see (yourname)@gmail.com (Exchange) with 'Week Numbers' listed below it. Make sure you are viewing 'All Calendars' within the app and week numbers will show up on the Sunday or Monday of each week.
    I apologize if these directions are not clear enough or too wordy. I tried to describe it for someone without much experience with this stuff (meaning myself). It may seem like a lot of trouble, but if you really want week numbers you can do it!

  • Error adding large numbers

    I am adding large numbers and getting the wrong result. there seems to be some rounding taking place in the sum but i am adding integers. I am using DASYLab 9.02, data is summed in the arithmetic module, example problem 331153408-31570 = 331121838 but the output is 331121824. I tried making the variable where the inputs are stored 20 digit with 10 decimals but that did not help and i also tried dividing first by 1000 and 10000 only to get different answers. is there a setting that needs to be configured differently?

    Hi Tom, Thanks for the reply. I am reading a hex value in from a serial port. the number is large and when i format it as hex on one chan it is off by a small amount. there is some rounding in the LSD. i then take another reading later and calculate the delta. since i dont have the right values to begin with my difference calculation is wrong. when i read as bytes through 8 channels, i can see the ascii for each digit and that they are correctly displayed. using a formula module i can convert from ascii to decimal so that i get the decimal equivalent of the hex character then in the next formula i do the math to find the value of each hex digit in place it holds. then using a sum arithmetic module i get the final value of the large number coming in. it is correct all the way upto the aritmetic sum. i tried cutting the large hex number into two parts and then adding up the weighted parts and still have the wrong ans in the display module. i also tried dividing the halves by 1000 prior to adding them so that i was working with smaller numbers in the summation but that didnt help.
    so i did the math directly in the extended portion of the variables. the numbers add up properly there but when i try to bring the correct sum back into the work sheet to display it, it is wrong again. it seems that a value around 04000000 hex is the limit. below that i get the right value displayed that was calculated in the variable field, above it there is some degree of variation. I can set the limit of cycles to a value below where the addition becomes problematic or i can export the hex to a spreadsheet, do the math there and then bring it back in but i will still have the same issue displaying the answer.
    the limitation doesnt seem to be in DASYLab in general but in the Read, Formula, Constant Generator modules that read the variable back into the worksheet. it is displayed properly in the contents window

  • Fixing acrobat pro XI crash when adding bates numbers

    Upgraded from Pro 8 to Pro 11 and regretting it.  Now the program just won't work.  Process of adding bates numbers is simple.  Once I finally find where the "tool" is hidden, I add a document and then select add bates number.  There is "OK" button, but when I click that, program crashes.  Every time, every document regardless of size.

    I just tried works for me.

  • Updating documents - adding batch numbers to lines

    Using the DI Server, we want to be able to update a document (such as a Goods Receipt PO) and create batch numbers for lines where the item on the line is set to batch on release only (hence we were able to create the document with no batch numbers on in the first place).
    Currently, when we do this, no error comes back from the DI Server, but the batch numbers are not added.

  • Just adding 2 numbers.

    Adding 2 numbers having 3 textfields and a button, I can do. The first textfield for input one, the second one for input two and the third one for output (result). The button triggering the operation.
    recently, some of you helped me with the calculus of the square root. As you can see below:
    http://www.er.uqam.ca/nobel/m340201/test/newestcalc.html
    My question now, how can I add 2 numbers only with one textfield( result) and 4 buttons. One button for number 1, another one for number 2, another one for the operator +, and finally another one for the sign =.
    I have the code, and being new at this I cannot figure out how to put everything to work:
    import flash.events.Event;
    var txt_inp:TextField = new TextField();
    txt_inp.type = "input";
    txt_inp.x = 168.95;
    txt_inp.y = 51.10;
    txt_inp.width = 209;
    txt_inp.height = 52.90;
    txt_inp.border = true;
    txt_inp.borderColor = 0x0000da;
    txt_inp.restrict = "0-9.";
    var myFormat:TextFormat = new TextFormat();
    myFormat.size = 44;//myFormat.align = TextFormatAlign.CENTER;
    myFormat.align = TextFormatAlign.JUSTIFY;
    txt_inp.defaultTextFormat = myFormat;
    txt_inp.textColor = 0x0000FF;
    txt_inp.maxChars = 5;
    txt_inp.multiline = false;
    txt_inp.text = '';
    addChild(txt_inp);
    var num1:Number;
    var num2:Number;
    button1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, fl_MouseClickHandler);
    button2.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, fl_MouseClickHandler);
    function fl_MouseClickHandler(e:MouseEvent):void
    txt_inp.appendText(e.currentTarget.name.substr(6));
    buttonplus.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, fl_MouseClickHandler_5);
    function fl_MouseClickHandler_5(event:MouseEvent):void
    trace("Mouse clicked");
    equale.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, fl_MouseClickHandler_6);
    function fl_MouseClickHandler_6(event:MouseEvent):void
    trace("Mouse clicked");

    Hi
    THe code gives me the following:
    When I input the number 1, it appears in the textfield, and then I click on +, and then I input number 2  which also appears in the textfield, and when I press on =, I get the result 3. It is a bit confusing because instead of having just the result (3), I get all the numbers in the textfield. which is 123. I should be having only the last number(3).
    I tried to sovlve it alone first, but it is a bit too tricky and it took all the day.
    NB: May be the code you gave me is the blessing, and all I have to do is add between 1 and 2 the sign +(plus), and between 2 and 3, the sign = (equal). And then it would look like the real thing.
    But I don't know how to code them. Is it 187 ?
    import flash.events.Event;
    var txt_inp:TextField = new TextField();
    txt_inp.type = "input";
    txt_inp.x = 168.95;
    txt_inp.y = 51.10;
    txt_inp.width = 209;
    txt_inp.height = 52.90;
    txt_inp.border = true;
    txt_inp.borderColor = 0x0000da;
    txt_inp.restrict = "0-9.";
    var myFormat:TextFormat = new TextFormat();
    myFormat.size = 44;//myFormat.align = TextFormatAlign.CENTER;
    myFormat.align = TextFormatAlign.JUSTIFY;
    txt_inp.defaultTextFormat = myFormat;
    txt_inp.textColor = 0x0000FF;
    txt_inp.maxChars = 5;
    txt_inp.multiline = false;
    txt_inp.text = '';
    addChild(txt_inp);
    button1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, fl_MouseClickHandler);
    button2.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, fl_MouseClickHandler);
    function fl_MouseClickHandler(e:MouseEvent):void
    txt_inp.appendText(e.currentTarget.name.substr(6));
    var num:Number=0;
    buttonplus.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, plusF);
    function plusF(event:MouseEvent):void
    if(!isNaN(Number(txt_inp.text))){
    num = Number(txt_inp.text);
    } else {
    equale.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, equalF);
    function equalF(event:MouseEvent):void
    if(!isNaN(Number(txt_inp.text))){
    txt_inp.text=String(num+Number(txt_inp.text));
    } else {

  • Adding Form fields from Custom backend service in SAP_PA

    Hi All,
    I have defined a rule in the form scenario using a form field in my custom backend service. I want this rule to be used in the operation of the SAP_PA backend service.
    In order to use the rule in SAP_PA, the field from the custom backend service(used in the rule definition) has to be assigned to SAP_PA as well. Unfortunately I am not able to assign it.
    I have seen SAP delivered from scenarios (S_HR_PA_US_CHG_PERM_ADDR) where they have assigned fields from custom backend service to SAP_PA, Can you please guide me how to acheive this ??
    Thanks,
    Bharath

    Try directly adding the field in the form scenario in the SAP_PA service.

  • Adding Auto-Numbering ID

    Hi everybody
    I'm using oracle 9i , and I want to add auto-numbering identity column to existing tables, how can I do this? is it possible to add it for already existing rows?
    and is it necessary to link the related tables through this new added ID???
    thanks in advance

    An "auto-numbering identity column" is a bit of a SQL Server-ism. In Oracle, you can create a sequence object and use that in your insert statement or create a BEFORE INSERT trigger that populates the value, i.e.
    CREATE SEQUENCE my_sequence
      START WITH 1000
      INCREMENT BY 1
      CACHE 100;
    INSERT INTO my_table( new_id_column, <<column list>> )
      VALUES( my_sequence.nextval, <<more data> );Justin

    Hi peter,
    Thanks for your reply..
    Actually I migrate three forms and create a application called transport,the pages are created for that respective three forms.
    Ya ofcourse i've created one page(Navigation list) manually in the application transport.
    i have to add three more forms in the same application transport, so i migrate three more forms by clicking upload file>
    three more forms are added in the list. After added i have only two option in that page upload file> and create application.
    i tried to create application but new pages are not creating for new three forms in the same application transport.
    did you understood my problem?
