Adding found material in Cycle count by Quant in warehosue - LICC

Hi Gurus,
Hope everybody is doing great.
We activated the cycle count by quant in t-code LICC(cycle count in warehosue by quant). e.g. we have 3 material sin the list. After the count we found that there is another material in the bin. I tried to go into the change pysical inventory document and add the material but there is no option to add this.I tried to add the found material in t-code LI11N - enter count but the add new item is disable and doesn't allow. Can anybody please guide how to handle with the found material? Is there any setting in the customizing we need to activate to allow this? Please advice.
Thanks,
Shamsul

Hi,
Many thanks for your quick reply. The new item button is available and when I tried to click it this is the message we get:
*With quant inventory, new item or single entry not allowed*
*Message no. L4193*
*Diagnosis*
*For Cycle Counting per quant, only the quants entered in the inventory document can be counted. It is not possible to add a further inventory item manually, or to enter inventory data per individual entry.*
It make sense that since there is no quant of the material so you can not have it in teh inventory document BUT there shoudl be a way to add the FOUND Materials also right?
Your thought?
Thanks,
Shamsul

  • Add new batch during count entry (for cycle count by quant LICC)

Hi! We are using LICC for cycle counting by quant as we have mixed storage and do not want to count all the materials in a single bin. Most of the materials involved are batch-managed. One issue we have is we may discover other batches during stock take. In this case, how can we add this to the stock adjustment since we cannot add new item when we use cycle counting by quant?
Appreciate your suggestion in this case.
    Cheers!
    SF

    Hi,
Whenever you find discrappancies, in this case founds, you will note these down and first do an analysis whether this particular batch has been written off in the past as lost. When not, you will make a MB1À or MIGO booking to add this found batch to stock. When yes, you could do a reversal of the issue or do a new receipt.

  • Cycle count by quant with serial number

    Hello all,
I have a scenario in which I have a mixed storage bin and there are multiple quants in the bin and each have a separate serial number. Now we have to carry out a cycle count based on the quant. I would like to know how to carry out the cycle count and also the procedure to carry out the cycle count. Pl. post the procedure and links related to it.
    Thanks,
    Maxx

    Hi,
Cycle count is basically conducted either by Storage Type or Material.
If you are not maintaining a mixed bin strategy, you need to conduct on storage type.
Depending the no. of cyles in the whole year and based on Fast moving or Slow moving nature of the materials, system will decide the date.
    Hope it is helpful.

  • Consignment vs owned inventory for the same material/inventory (cycle count)

    Hi All,
I am looking at ways within SAP that I could differentiate materials/inventory that are consignment and owned inventory...
We have a department that are experiencing difficulties performing cylce counts as they both owned and consignments parts and materials and it is currently done manually.
Is there a way for us to generate a single inventory that includes both owned and consignment in the same report?
    Any help would be great!
    Cheers!
    Wendell

    Hi Wendell,
If you have batch management and WM, this should not be a problem.. In this case, you should be able to identify where each batch is located and if the batch is consignment or own.
If not, then execpt you separate the inventory in different storage locations, the inventory could be mixed.
Anyway, I recommend you to move this thread to SAP MM:
SAP ERP - Logistics Materials Management (SAP MM)

  • Execute Inventory with Cycle-Counting Method and by Quants

    Hi Gurus,
I would like to Implement the Inventory by quant on WM.
This is because I would like to Inventory only 1 material per Bin.
I found transaction LICC, but when I try to activate the Document an error message say that the Inventory Document Range (LVS_IVNUM) does not exist.
How can I create this range? Have you got a manual for this implementation?
Another Question: the Inventory count is allready implemented and there is still a range of Inventory Documents created and managed by LI01N, LX26..the Cycle Counting by quants can interferate with the one allready implemented?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Simone

    Hi,
For the LICC issue I had same problem. Direct in production you need to maintain number ranges in LN05 for your warehouse.
    Thanks.

  • Cycle count procedure

    Hi,
The below is the issue my user asking for.
there are  B items are to be counted 6 times a year (Once every two months)..
    For example:
If  plant A has 1000 B items then 500 should be counted in month one and 500 should be counted in month 2.
However, it seems that all the B movers are in the same month thus the cycle count is for ALL items.
User asking why all items fall inonr month when he creates phy.inv docs  in MICN.

    Hi
Cycle counting is a method of physical inventory whereby material is inventoried at regular intervals within a fiscal year. These intervals or cycles depend on the cycle counting indicator set for the material.
Cycle counting allows fast-moving items to be counted more frequently than slow-moving items, for example.
All materials to be included in the cycle counting inventory are flagged. This is done either manually, using a cycle counting indicator in the material master record (storage data), or automatically, by means of an ABC analysis. The cycle counting indicator allows you to classify materials into individual cycle counting categories (for example: A, B, C, D) In Customizing, you can set for each category how often the materials are inventoried.
You can flag materials that are to be included in cycle counting as follows:
Manually in the material master record (storage data)
    Automatically using ABC analysis.
You can use program RMCBIN00 to carry out an ABC analysis, which assigns materials to each category according to consumption or requirements. You can choose whether the analysis should only include materials with cycle counting indicators or all materials. The cycle counting indicator can be automatically updated in ABC analysis.
To plan the cycle counting inventories, start the RM07ICN1 cycle counting program at regular intervals. This program checks the due dates for inventories for all cycle counting materials.
If it is time for an inventory for a certain material, use the program to create a batch input session to create physical inventory documents. Physical inventory documents are only created for stock type 1 (unrestricted use). The planned inventory count date is calculated as follows:
Date of last inventory + pre-defined interval
The interval between inventories for each cycle counting indicator is set in Customizing.
Use the batch input session to create the physical inventory documents.
Now you can carry out the inventory. When the difference is posted, the actual inventory count date is recorded in the material inventory data as the date of the last inventory.

  • Cycle counting process

    Hi all,
Could you please some good link/ notes about cycle counting process.
    Sruthi

Hi, Please go through the following.
Cycle counting is a method of physical inventory whereby inventory is counted at regular intervals within a fiscal year. These intervals depend on the cycle counting indicator set for the material.
Cycle Counting allows you to count fast-moving items more frequently than slow-moving items, for example.
    General Procedure
Mark all materials that are to be included in cycle counting with a cycle counting indicator in the material master record (storage data). The cycle counting indicator is used to group the materials together into various cycle counting categories (for example, A, B, C, and D). In Customizing for Inventory Management, you can define for each category the time intervals at which the materials are to be counted.
You can use the program ABC Cycle Counting Analysis (RMCBIN00) to perform an analysis. In this analysis, the system assigns the materials to the individual categories according to consumption or requirements. You can also specify whether this analysis is to consider only the materials with cycle counting indicator or all materials. The cycle counting indicator in the material master records can be updated automatically by this program.
For the planning of cycle counting, run the program Create physical inventory documents for cycle counting (RM07ICN1). This program checks all cycle counting materials to determine whether a physical inventory is due to be carried out.
You can create physical inventory documents for the following stock types, as well as unrestricted-use stock (stock type 1):
    quality inspection stock
    blocked stock
The system calculates the planned count date for all stock types as folllows:
Date of last physical inventory of unrestricted-use stock + predefined interval
If a material needs to be counted, use the program to create a batch input session for creating physical inventory documents. To create the physical inventory documents, process the batch input session .
When the inventory differences are posted, the actual count date is recorded in the physical inventory data of the material as the date of the last physical inventory.
    Activities
    Marking Materials for Cycle Counting
This step is only required if you perform cycle counting for the first time or if you want to update the cycle counting indicators.
In the material master record (storage data), maintain the cycle counting indicator for all the materials that are to be included in cycle counting.
You can set the indicator in one of the following two ways:
manually in the material master record. To do this, choose Material ® Change from the Material Master menu.
automatically using ABC analysis To do this, choose Special procedures ® Cycle counting ® Set CC indicator from the Physical Inventory menu.
Creating Physical Inventory Documents for Cycle Counting
From the Physical Inventory menu, select Special procedures ® Cycle counting ® Create physical inventory documents.
    Enter the data required.
    Carry out the evaluation.
Choose Edit ® Generate session to create the batch input session.
Select System ® Services ® Batch input ® Edit from the menu to process the session.
Carry out the physical inventory for the physical inventory documents created.
    Thanks,
    DV

  • Perform Full Cycle Count - No Data Found

I am trying to initialize a full cycle count for all items in a subinventory. I have a recent ABC compile set and a new cycle count setup. A, B, C and D classes are all set to count 1x per year. I have verified that all items from the compile are no in the cycle count. I submitted a "Cycle Count Scheduler" request and ensured that it completed. I then set all the parameters in the "Perform Full Cycle Count" request and set to save to file. After it completes and I view the output, the file says "No data found". My only recourse is to dump all items from Material workbench and use Data Load to enter them in ( a bit tedious for 900+ items). Is there anything I need to be doing different?

You mention that you have done the ABC setups.
But in Cycle count setups, have you defined a cycle count schedule?
And more importantly, in cycle count classes, have you entered the frequency at which each class should be counted?
Last but not the least, what is the last count date (on the serial and schedule tab)?
If it is today, you will have to wait till tomorrow.
    Hope this helps,

  • Cycle Count in LX26...Can I display all quants ??

    Hi,
I am trying to do cycle counting using LX26 in SAP.
I want to count based on the material for the entire warehouse.
For example: I want to count for warehouse W01 for the next one month.
The warehouse manager should have the ability to assign counters based on material ( eg: He should be able to pick Material "A" which resides in 5 different bins and assign it to a counter)
THE PROBLEM comes when in 1 bin there is more than 1 quant , then the system proposes the bin separately as "Several Quants" , and not in the list for the material.
Is there a setting that would display all material sorted by bin ? So, even if there are 2 different quants in a bin, it would list out the quants for the counter to select ??
    Please advice !!

Thanks....I removed the CC indicator in the material master.
But if the material is in the same bin with another material ( with CC active) , it still comes up in LX26
    Example:
Material A - No CC Indicator
Material B- CC Indicator of "A"
Both of them are in Bin - B1
If I run LX26 , I get bin B1 with "Multiple Quants" and relevant for Cycle counting !!!
    Can you help?

  • Bin level cycle counting - material appears as 'ready/blocked'

    Hi all,
I could not find an answer to this question in the previous posts.
Cycle counting has been set up at the storage bin level. When a new quant is generated for a material, then the material appears again on the inventory list (LX26) with description 'Ready/Blocked' although it has already been counted.
Could someone confirm if this is SAP standard behaviour or if there is something odd going on here?
    Many thanks!
    Kind regards
    JHK

    He all,
I have a similar question. Cycle Counting only within IM if you have batch management.
    Scenario:
Customizing = only one count per year (365 days) KZ = 'A'
After counting all Materials type 'A' including Batches everything seems ok. But receiving a new Batch (new number) to an already counted Material/Batch Type 'A' the material appears again in the cycle counting transaction MICN or MIQ1
Could you confirm this SAP behavior.
    Many Thanks

  • Cycle count for serialized material

    Guys,
When we do cycle count for serialized items, it pop up to enter serial # when updating the count. Is there any BADI/User exist to skip this step in counting for serialized materials. We dont want to enter serial#, since volume is hugh and serial# is of less important, only count matters.
    Regards
    TGB

Once you active the series number, then all the material need marked and managed with series number.
and stock counting need under series number.
it will cost more time absolutely than no series number.
if you think the series number not important, you can Deactivate serial number.
But please note, the reason why you use serial number is to manage the material one by one against the series number.
    NOT just count the quantity.

  • Warehouse Management Cycle Counting Method

    Dear All
I am new to WM and would like to carry out Physical Inventory in Warehouse.
However if I use transaction like LI01N I have to create a Physical Inventory Document for the entire Bin.I want to create Physical Inventory Document only for few materials and not for the entire Bin.
In that scenario I have to use Cycle Couting method ie LX26 for certain materials however in that case n physical Inventory Doc is created.
Can anybody let me know regarding?
1.Is there any way that I do not use Cycle Counting method and still create Inv Doc not for Bin but for selected materials.
2.If I have to use cycle couting what steps I am missing,I have already set the cycle counting Indicator in material master but still when I execute LX26 and go to list and create Physical Inv Doc the system is not creating any document.
    Regards

so when you say you already did the below steps, then it means you added the indicator in the material master and the CC entry is also updated in the transation OMNK. So that's why when you execute the LX26, you see some entries.
In LX26, when you select the item and trying to click the Activate Documents, what does the log message says. It should say either open transfer order exists or bin blocked or anything.
Even you can try LICC to create inventory document by quant, if you have multiple quant in that bin.
2.If I have to use cycle couting what steps I am missing,I have already set the cycle counting Indicator in material master but still when I execute LX26 and go to list and create Physical Inv Doc the system is not creating any document.

  • How to upload the Cycle Count Indicator from ERP into EWM

    Hello Gurus,
Can someone tell me what the transaction is to upload the Cycle Count Indicator from the ERP into EWM?  I am currently researching the cycle count functionality of EWM for a roll-out at our facility, and this information would be most helpful.
As I understand it, there are transactions for the Global Material Master Data upload, Storage Unit Type in the Palletization Data fields of the ERP (which seems to be translated as the SUT to Packing Material), and Unit of Measure management.  Also, judging by a document I found, the Cycle Count Indicator isn't uploaded in the Global Material Data, but I did see that the field has relevency in the EWM packing specifications.
Does this mean that the indicators must be uploaded through the "SUT to Packing Material" transaction (/SCWM/MIG_MAP_SUT)?
What if the Cycle Count Indicator should require a change?  Does the change have to be made in ERP and pushed to EWM, do they get updated separately, or is there a way to allow for automatic updating?
I hope the question doesn't seem too complex, but it is the only way I could drill down enough to get what I hope I need.
    Thank you!

    Hello,
You can do it using MASS TCode.

  • Physical incentory - Cycle counting

    Dear MM consultants,
I am using PI cycle count process,
It is a fresh client  so no consumption update a so f now. We assigned ABC indicator in material master.
When i execute MICN tcode i am getting " no material found for PI '
Kindly guide me how to fix

    OSS note 518418
In principle, the program calculates the planned date of physical
inventory according to the following formula:
planned date = base date + Interval (Trans.OMCO/Tab.XT159C-ININV)
Usually, the base date is the 'date of the last physical inventory'.
Depending on the type of the stock or the batch management
requirement, this date is read from one of the following table
    fields:
    MARD-DLINL (Normal materials)
MCHB-CHDLL (Batch materials, separately valuated materials)
If no physical inventory has been carried out yet and if this date
field is therefore empty, the system uses the creation date of the
material as basis date. The basis date then comes from one of the
    following table fields:
    MSTA-ERSDA (Normal materials)
MCHB-ERSDA (Batch materials, separately valuated materials)
Since the cycle counting physical inventory always runs for the
current fiscal year, the earliest possible physical inventory date
is the 01.01. and the latest possible physical inventory date is the
    31.12 of the current year.

we created a custom report that is the best solution.
I found a useful link though
    https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/Snippets/ABAP-Cycle%20Count%20(Physical%20Inventory%20COunt)%20Report.
    Try tcode MI24,MI31
    also tables MACH,LINV and MARD.
Also you can set criteria in MICN
