Adding Goldegate server to goldegnate monitor
Hi,
I have installed oracle goldengate monitor in my linux server(primary). Also i have configured goldengate and it replicating properly. Now i want to add both(primary&standby goldegate) need to add in goldengate monitor.
Whether should i install gg monitor agent even if i install gg monitor server edition on same server?
I am totally zero on this concept.
If you know any website , Please share the link to configure, add all goldengate servers(primary, all standby's) to 1 goldengate monitor.
You may want to read the documentation found here:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/goldengate/documentation/index.html
If you're suing OGG 11.1.1.1.0+ then the OGG Monitoring agent is installed already with OGG core. It's off by default so after the reading the docs you'll know how to enable it.
Good luck,

Error while adding essbase server(V9.3.1)
Hi All,
I have installed all essbase related products and configured everything thru configuration utility successfully. But while adding essbase server through ADMINISTARTION SERVICES CONSOLE,I got the following error.
============================================>
Error: -1 com.essbase.eas.net.remote.RemoteStartException: Unable to connect to server LENOVO-91845925. Reason: Connection timed out: connect
The server might not be running.

Error: 1051293: Login fails due to invalid login credentials ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->
I am sure that I am giving correct credentials as I did it couple of times.I just added the essbase server as LOCALHOST and username as ADMIN and password as PASSWORD and confirm password as PASSWORD.I am not sure where I am making mistake.or Do I need to configure anything after adding the ADMINISTARTION SERVER through CONSOLE.
Please let me know if you have any idea on this.
Thanks in Advance..Hi Sandeep,
Yes,While configuring essbase server,it has asked me to provide userid and password twice.
First time:
By default it came with userid as hypuser. But i changed it to essadmin(This is the user which i have created in database specifcally for essbase).
Second Time:
After the above step is completed ,when i click next,It was asking the for userid.By default it came with admin.I left it as it is and provided password as password.
After this it took several mins to configure and finally came out successfully.
Now my doubt is that Do I need to provide essadmin(which i have given while configuring essbase server) while adding essbase server through CONSOLE?.
Thanks. -
SQL Server 2012 AlwaysON Monitoring using SCOM
Team,
We have SCOM deployed and is serving as a monitoring solution for our SQL Estate. However I want some pointers to monitor the health of DBs within Avaialibility Group like DB Sync, log queue etc. Please direct me with the AlwaysOn health parameters that
can be monitored by SCOM.
I have confirmed with SCOM admin that we have the latest management pack installed for SQL 2012 and currently its getting monitored. However we are not seeing any alerts though.
Your inputs are highly appreciated.

Language Pack for SharePoint, Project Server and Office Web Apps 2010 - English missing locally
Language Pack for SharePoint, Project Server and Office Web Apps 2010 -
Spanish/Español missing locally
This was my process:
Config Wizard:
Adding Index server to existing farm, "Server Farm Product and Patch Status" returned 34 Missing Locally required products and patches.
SKIP installing the following two, as SP2 is cumulative
Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Service Pack 1 (SP1) (14.0.6029.1000) (officeserver2010sp1-kb2460045-x64-fullfile-en-us.exe)

install oslpksp2010-kb2687462-fullfile-x64-en-us.exe
Got "There are no products affected by this package installed on this system."
SO!
Uninstalled Sharepoint 2010 Server
WIll try to install again, without skipping #2, and reorder installation of oslpksp2010-kb2687462-fullfile-x64-en-us.exe
Retry (the long way):
Run SharePointServer.exe, get Missing Locally...
Install oslpksp2010-kb2687462-fullfile-x64-en-us.exe SUCCESSFUL
Install officeserver2010sp1-kb2460045-x64-fullfile-en-us.exe SUCCESSFUL
Reboot
Install oserversp2010-kb2687453-fullfile-x64-en-us.exe SUCCESSFUL
Rerun Config
STILL MISSING
Download oslpksp2010-kb2687462-fullfile-x64-es-es.exe, run, "there are no products affected..."
Uninstall.
Re-retried, only got through the first couple:
Run SharePointServer.exe, get Missing Locally...
Install SP1 officeserver2010sp1-kb2460045-x64-fullfile-en-us.exe, SUCCESSFUL
Install English Lang Pack oslpksp2010-kb2687462-fullfile-x64-en-us.exe, "There are no products affected by this package installed on this system."
Install Spanish Lang Pack oslpksp2010-kb2687462-fullfile-x64-es-es.exe,
Install SP2 oserversp2010-kb2687453-fullfile-x64-en-us.exe, run Config Wizard
I'm now downloading 462150_intl_x64_zip.exe, going to try and install it as step three.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

What are the advantages to adding a server to my home/home office system?
What are the advantages to adding a server to my home/home office system?
It's hard to give you specific answers unless we know your current setup. Any server, or specifically OS X server, may not be appropriate for your workflow.
A server is a centralized computer which can act as a file repository for other computers and devices to access. It can also centrally manage authentication for other resources (ie, have a single sign in for multiple services), can act as a web server, a calendar server, and other features. Of course, many of those things are available from other providers, but having your own server means that you have more control (and responsibility) over them.
This is a good place to start:

Question on adding new server to existing pool in OVM 2.2 environment
I have an existing iscsi based server pool with one server attached to the pool. I am adding a second ovm server. I have configured the iscsi and multipath modules and can see the repository lun.
I then added the server to the pool via ovm manager, but the server is not fully participating as the agent did not create a mount point for /OVS so I can't see the repos directiories from the new server. A "df" does not show the device as it does on the first server.
The manager gui does show the server as part of the pool even though we received an error.
In the ovm manager log, we see the following messages.
Check prerequisites to add server (ovm2.highlinehosting.com) to server pool (san_pool1) succeed
During adding servers ([ovm2.domain.com]) to server pool (san_pool1), Cluster setup failed: (OVM-1011 OVM Manager communication with ovm1.domain.com for operation HA Setup for Oracle VM Agent 2.2.0 failed: errcode=00000, errmsg=Unexpected error: <Exception: ha_check_cpu_compatibility failed:<Exception: CPU not compatible! {'ovm1.domain.com': 'vendor_id=GenuineIntel;cpu_family=6;model=44', 'ovm2.highlinehosting.com': 'vendor_id=GenuineIntel;cpu_family=6;model=46'}> )
I'm not sure why it's complaining about cpu compatibility as we are not using any HA features at this time, and both servers are identical in make and model. They are both equipped with the same cpu type and speed.
I checked ocfs2 network connectivity by executing the command "nc -zv nodename 7777", which ran successfully from both nodes. The manager was able to propagate a valid cluster.conf file to both servers. I restarted the ovs-agent service on the new server.
Are there any other configuration steps that I need to take on the new server before trying to add it to the pool? I do need to tread carefully as I have live guests running in the pool.
ThxBob Weinmann wrote:
If I have to go the route of using a separate pool for each server, do you have any suggestions on how I would be able to access the repos of server1 from server2 if server1 were to go down hard? I don't mean to access it as a repos for running the vms, but just to be able to copy the vm files over to the running server. This would be possible if you were using NFS for your storage, but not if you're using FC or iSCSI, as the LUN is formatted with the OCFS2 cluster ID of each pool, so probably wouldn't be able to be mounted by another pool. Your best bet is to upgrade to Oracle VM 3.0 so that you can create a pool that contains both servers: you won't have live migration, but HA will still work just fine. -
Qadmin / Qmaster has added a server Shortcut
In an attempt to include my G4 with my G5, I opened QMaster Preferences in the System Preferences window and worked through trying to use the G4 as a node.
Unfortunately, it didn't materialize which is OK with me because it's not a huge project that we're doing. However, QAdmin / QMaster has added a server shortcut "Pc312662238717" which is interefering with the standard Apple Talk connections to the user on the G4 "abw" and the HD on the G4 "Macintosh HD 2". The server connection locks-up when I try to access either of the IDs on the G4 and I get the interminable beach ball of death.
Would a remove / reinstall of Qmaster and QAdmin help to reset things?
I didn't have any problems until I tried to connect the G4 with QMaster Preferences.
Much Obliged,
Andrew

Now to re-add QMAster and get it right this time... -
We are moving and are going to be adding a server (Quad 2.5 G5 w/ 2x500 HDs). We are currently have the internet connection coming in (static IP) to an AEBS running two printers and an AEX on the same network running the other. All the machines use the wireless network for internet access and printing. Email is via a hosted Exchange solution and another company hosts our web site. We have one spare machine that does limited file server work, but most folks have stuff on their hard drives.
I have read the manuals on OS X server and a couple of after market books and, since much of it is somewhat familiar, I am relatively confident about many of the software setup issues. However, I have gotten some conflicting advice about the physical configuration and hoped you guys could help.
We want to be able to use the server as a file server, with better access control than the sharing preference, have remote users connect with a VPN, use the wireless network for internet access and printing. We might want to host web sites via an intranet or be able to access them from outside, but don't want them to be associated with the domain name that is the real web site.
My first question is about the interface between the airport network and the server. I was originally told that the cable to the internet should go into one of the servers ports and the other should connect to an AEBS. I should set up the server to act as a firewall and serve up DCHP addresses. However, some of what I have read says that this is a bad idea--that the AEBS or something else should be the first in line and that the server should be connected to the LAN port of the AEBS. Which is best?
Other questions:
Should I use the server print services or just the bonjour through airport?
I don't need to set up the mail services, correct?
Anything else I should consider?
ThanksSince no one else has chimed in yet I'll pipe up and suggest you consider another configuration: connect your internet modem to a standalone firewall/router. (You'll either need one with a built in switch, or you'll need to connect a standalone switch to it.) Then connect both your server and Airport to the switch. The Airport will be set to bridge your wireless network to the wired network.
This way you focus your server resources on real server stuff, while the router takes care of grunt work like NAT and DHCP. You also gain some isolation for your server compared to having it function as your firewall and gateway.
Just an alternative to think about. -
Multiple base DN while adding LDAP server
Hi all ,
I want to add multplie base DN , while adding ldap server. Because all our users are not in the same base DN .
So is there a way to do that ?
Thanks!

Error adding Win Server Technical Preview host to Virtual Machine Manager Technical Preview
I've built Win Server Preview (latest build 9888).Also build System Center Technical Preview, on another server (VM), and now trying to add Server Tech Preview hosts to VMM.
However VMMService is crashing, with error below.
Note I have tried multiple scenarios, including upgrade hosts from 2012 R2, install fresh as server Core, install fresh full-GUI hosts, enable Hyper-V before adding to VMM, allow VMM to enable Hyper-V...
also RunAs user is administrator of hosts and VMM, computer accounts have been added to all administrator groups, WinRM quickconfig has been run, firewall is off..
..however VMM vNext refuses to add Server vNext hosts. (however - I can add Server 2012 R2 hosts to VMM vNext with no problem)
NOTE - also, when Server Manager starts, I get "Error occurred while loading the plug-in for 481. Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation". After this the File and Storage Services node in Server Manager is missing. Not sure if
this is related to the error below; but I get this issue in all servers built with latest .9888 build.
Error from VMM server when trying to add Tech Preview host is as follows -

@Paul Adare, Your replies have zero value. An apology or retraction for your accusation of piracy would have been more appropriate.
If you don't have any insight to add on the topic of this post, please stop spamming it.
I did not accuse you of anything. The build in question has been pirated
and is floating around the Internet and Microsoft has not, in fact released
the build to the general pubic. Those are facts. I have also been involved
in various TAP programs over the years and I know that there are dedicated
support channels for those programs and that you are to use those dedicated
support channels, not the support channels made available to the public
releases. Also a fact.

Exchange Server 2010 usage monitoring
Dears
How we can monitor Exchange server 2010 usage like owa usage, mail sending, contact Adding and editing ...etc.
is exchange has tools to do that or i have to use system center if yes what version of system center is Enterprise or Standard?Hi ,
Please check the below mentioned points
1.) For owa and rpc connections usage , you can make use of the mentioned script on below link.
http://mikepfeiffer.net/2011/04/determine-the-number-of-active-users-on-exchange-2010-client-access-servers-with-powershell/
2.)For tracing the total mails send and received by the individual users (i.e internal /external)you can make use of the below mentioned script
https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/scriptcenter/bb94b422-eb9e-4c53-a454-f7da6ddfb5d6
3.For contact adding and editing.I mean to track administrator related activities on exchange recipients ,You can make use of Exchange admin audit logging to track such kind of activities. But that will not tell you the count of total contacts that are in
exchange and it exposes only the changes which is done by administrator on the recipients available in exchange.
http://www.msexchange.org/articles-tutorials/exchange-server-2010/compliance-policies-archiving/administrator-audit-logging-part1.html
Below is the link which will help you to get the Admin audit report via emails in HTML format.

After adding the Witness Server to the Mirror session, the Witness Connection state between the Mirror and Witness Connection is Disconnected and the state between Principal and Witness Connection is Connected.
The procedures defined in Books Online was used to setup Database Mirroring...when the Witness server was added to the Mirror session, only the alter database T-SQL statement was executed on the Principal server.
ALTER DATABASE <db_name> SET WITNESS = 'TCP://<servername>:<port>'
After executing the above statement, a few seconds later the state between Principal and Witness Connection changed to Connected and the state between Mirror and Witness Connection remains Disconnected.
The Mirror session is not using Certificates, every server is on the same domain, using the same domain login account, and all servers have SP2 installed running Enterprise Edition.
Any idea's why the state between Mirror and Witness Connection remains Disconnected?
Thanks,I have the same problem. All 3 servers are on a workgroup and I'm using certificates. All three servers are connected via switch. This is a test environment, with the principal server being a 64 bit OS with Windows Server 2003 R2 with SQL Server standard x64, the witness server is a Windows server 2003 SP2 x32 with SQL Server Express, and the mirror is Windows XP x32 with Sql Server Standard. Using hard coded static IP addresses (FQDN makes no difference, and they get resolved to IP addresses anyway!). The mirror server log shows
'The server instance Witness rejected configure request, read its error log file for more information
but of course there are no errors logged on the witness server - not by SQL, nor in the event log. When the witness is set on the princial server, the Database mirroring monitor shows almost immediately that the witness and prinicapl servers are connected, but it takes quite a few seconds before the witness/mirror state is shown as disconnected. Until then the entry is blank. The monitor also shows High Saftey with automatic failover, which isn;t true - since the mirror and witness are not connected, no failover occurs when the principal is taken offline.
Since I'm running terminal services on the XP machine to interact with the witness and principal server, I find it hard to image that there are network issues.
If the witness can connect with the principal and the principal can conect with the mirror, under what circumstances will the witness NOT connect with the mirror? When I check the witness server for entries in the database_mirroring_witness view the following is shown:
RTJobs TCP://primary-sql:5022 TCP://192.168.100.14:5022 2 FULL 1 1 2263BD97-1004-4D73-9966-7AFB89E5626E A6EE18DF-19C4-48EC-8C06-77074EF5A275 0 1
Interestingly the IP address of the prinical server is replaced by the Sql Server instance name (primary-sql) but this doesn't happen for the witness. -
SC 2012 R2 - Operations Manager - All servers except Management server show Not Monitored
Hi all,
I have installed System Centre 2012 R2 - Operations Manager and configured on our Domain and running without a problem. I used the VHD available here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=40844
I have created a single VM called VM1 and installed Windows Server 2012 R2. VM1 has also been joined to our domain.
The management packs for Server 2012 R2 have been downloaded to the SC2012 OM.
I have discovered and added in VM1 server to the OM Server. I can see the agent running in VM1 (Microsoft Monitoring Agent) but it always shows as "Not monitored".
I have restarted both servers, found the guide regarding "Greyed out or Not monitored" but the steps outlined have not resolved the issue.
The account used in the test domain to install and run the service is a Domain Admin account. The test domain network also disabled the firewall on all member servers.
I have stopped all services on the OM server, renamed the "Health Service State" folder as suggested but nothing has resolved the issue.
Could anyone please help me? If more information is needed I would be happy to provide it.
Thanks in advance,
GrahamThank you all. After coming into the office today I checked the event logs on VM1. All afternoon I had been getting 4 events every 15 minutes;
Three x 21023 - OpsMgr has no configuration for management group SCOM12 and is requesting new configuration from the Configuration Service
And one error, 20070 The OpsMgr Connector connected to SCOM12.test.local, but the connection was closed immediately after authentication occurred. The most likely cause of this error is that the agent is not authorized to communicate with the
server, or the server has not received configuration. Check the event log on the server for the presence of 20000 events, indicating that agents which are not approved are attempting to connect.
However at 00:04, I can see an event log 21019 - OpsMgr has returned to communicating with it's primary hostSCOM12.test.local and since then regular Health Service logs.
I checked in OM and now it is showing as Healthy and monitored - I guess this just needed a lot of time to configure itself? Is this normal behaviour?
I also checked VM1 TCP 5723 which it says was not open (the firewall is off on the server however it is working in OM.
PS C:\PSScripts> Test-Port -computer VM1 -port 5723 -tcp
Server : VM1
Port : 5723
TypePort : TCP
Open : False
Notes : Connection to Port Timed Out
Thanks again for your help. If it goes again I shall create a new post.
