Adding html code to iweb website

I'm trying to add html code (google analytics code) to my website via iweb.
Does anyone know how you can do this via iweb?

  • Adding HTML code corrupts (and destroys) site

I was informed by Apple support that iWeb does not support adding HTML to your page (even though I did so in the Forms widget), and that the code corrupted my page (causing all kinds of font issues, blurry images, and wacky layout errors). They said I would have to rebuild the page from scratch (I have already spent hours building an intensive website that is now useless). I am skeptical that all these iWeb problems (font changes, wrong colors, layout chaos, blurry fonts, etc.) are caused by HTML code, so if anyone has any more info I would appreciate it. I am ready to throw iWeb in the garbage and go back to Dreamweaver MX!!! Thanks.

not totally comfortable posting links to the site (its a business site and not mine)... if you search around for iWeb problems you will find many people having the same issues... when i tried fixing my original page (after deleting the page with the problematic code) the problems still occurred... when i redid the page completely the problems stopped happening (at least for now)... I was told by the Applecare person that the code had completely infested/corrupted the entire site and that it could not be fixed... that I would have to completely recreate the site again... what doesn't make sense is that such a glaring, fundamental problem on such a basic program goes ignored by such a powerful, inventive, flourishing company... disappointing to see all the issues/bugs that get officially ignored on these forums...

  • How do I paste a snippet of HTML code into my website

I downloaded HTML code that creates a clock with the date & time to paste into my website. How do I paste the code into the site?
I tried pasting the code onto the page in iWeb and it just shows up as if its just text.

Yes, though I don't know if it applies to exactly what you want to do:

  • HTML Code for Full Website and Not Mobile. Site

A frustration with iPhone browsers is that they force you to view the mobile website, as oppose to the full website, if a mobile site exists. Unfortunately, the mobile sites often do not provide the services the full sites do.
Is there HTML coding that can be added to a link to get the iPhone to the full site?

The sites that are directing you to a mobile site is using HTML code to do so. What you really want is for those site to NOT have code redirecting you to a mobile site.
Many mobile website have a link on their mobile site that takes you to the full site. A good website developer might have the site place a cookie in your Safari that tells their site you prefer to visit the full site. After tapping on that link, the next time you visit the site you will most likely not be directed to the mobile site.
But whether or not a redirect happens is the Perdue of the website developer.
Try an alternate browser. Some, like Atomic Web, have a settings area where you can select the type of browser you are using. I have mine set to Internet Explorer. atomic Web then fools the website into thinking I'm on a computer instead of a mobile device and I'm never directed to a mobile site.

  • Add html code to iweb page?

i'm a nike+ user and i want to add a nike+ challenge link to my iweb website. nike+ gives us the code to cut and past into our "blog, or website," but i can't figure a way to paste the code so it appears on iweb as a link to my nike+ challenge. i've looked for a way to edit an iweb page as html, but no luck. any ideas?

Welcome to the discussions. Currently there's no integrated way to do this in iWeb. But some have developed tools...

  • It is possible to insert a html code in iWeb?? help please!!

Hi there, and thanks for helping me!
I have a question. I am new to iWeb, and  I am making my first website with Adobe Dreamweaver CS5. I have the HTML, CSS code ready to be uploaded to the web. So I wonder if it is possible to insert my HTML and CSS code in iWeb so I can publish it? I mean, my code in Dreamweaver is ready to be publish, so I want to put the code in iWeb and then publish it with all HTML, CSS and Javascript code. Thanks!

You might be able to reuse some of your html in iWeb with the HTML-snippet:
Whenever I need to do something tricky in iWeb I insert a HTML-snippet from the drop down insert menu -> widgets  (or the Media Browser Widgets palette), adjust its size and paste the HTML code into the snippet.
You will not be able to recreate a complete page this way, but you might be able to save some  preformatted parts of your page, like elaborate tables and groups of pictures.

  • Is it possible to add html code to iweb

I need to add some special elements to a webpage, and I was curious if I could add any special html code besides the ones I have found in the menu (counter, links, etc)
    Thanks

This is iWeb's glaring weakness. I need the ability to add html for blog rolls, haloscan comments on blogs, etc.
Currently, I use RapidWeaver, but the drag and drop design elements in iWeb are far superior. However, the ability to add raw html code is going to hold iWeb back.
Add this, Apple, and you've got a winner.

  • Html code integration iWeb

Is there a way to add html Code to a site? f.e. to add some site content or an rss feed. o.s.

Yes, there is. In the Widgets panel in iWeb's right side slide-out, you'll see an +RSS Feed+ widget and an +HTML Snippet+ widget. See here:
    http://www.apple.com/ilife/iweb/#widgets
...simply drag the widget onto iWeb's canvas.

if you wanna integrate it directly into your page, you follow the steps of integrating a paypal button here:

  • Adding downloadable PDFs to iWeb website

How do I add multi-page PDFs to an iWeb website such that the PDFs can be downloaded from the website?
    Cheers
    Neil

Neil ~ PDF viewers offer a download button and other features such as full-screen mode... Start a free web-based blog at Posterous:
    http://posterous.com/faq
Then simply email your PDFs to your Posterous blog and they'll be automatically posted to Scribd and embedded into your Posterous blog — here's an example:
    http://dont-panic.posterous.com/crash-report-example
Then, in iWeb, set up various text or image hyperlinks to the Posterous blog entries containing your PDFs. By the way, Scribd allows PDFs to be embedded directly into your iWeb site, but you may find it easier to use Posterous.

So - please show us the code you have received, and link us

  • HTML code in iWeb

    Can someone please help.
So I can add Meta names, contents etc in my web page, I have opened the HTML file of the particular page in dreamweaver. I have added keywords and description in the code. I then save the file back to my iweb site folder, launched iweb and published to my site. When I view the source code on the published site the changes do not appear. Can someone please help.

I then save the file back to my iweb site folder,
Then you have done what you need to do. Stop there.
launched iweb and published to my site.
Don't do that. It just erases the changes you made. Do not republish until you need to change the content of your site.
You have to redo your .html changes every time after you republish.
