Adding ICT trunk and SIP trunk into Route group

Hi ,
We need to map ICT and SIP trunk into the same route group  ,but the problem here is already same ICT is mapped to another route pattern.
If i try to create new ICT with same remote IP ,it's throwing Add failed because the remote IP is already defined.
Is there anyway we can add ICT with same remote IP and map the ICT and SIP trunk ? or Is there anyway that we can add exisitng ICT into route pattern.
Route pattern is used for this route group is different.CUCM version - 7.X.Please advice.
Regards,
Ramanathan

Thanks Suresh ...
In that case ,I can assign the route group(ICT ,SIP - Top Down)  to two different Route pattern.
Both patterns will hit ICT first ,Please correct me if I am wrong.

    Has anyone got a script to read a list of email addresses from a Mail message header and put them into a group in Contacts?

    Now Tony, I know you can't hear my tone on a forum post but I was not complaining, simply stating facts . This change brought several people in my office to a grinding halt in a long established workflow that is really rather simple (and I thought was already assumed from the original post above ):
    1) Select a set of records in FileMaker Pro 12 and export only their e-mail addresses as a CSV file.
    2) Open that CSV file in Excel.
    3) Copy the column of e-mail address.
    4) paste into the appropriate recipient field in Mail.
    5) Send
    If I were to complain it would be about Apple's typically opaque approach to updates. There is no granular explanation of why changes were made or even "what" changes were made.
    Complaining is futile since Apple is Apple and is unlikely to change, but sometimes it is cathartic to "shout into the void" .
    I had thought about doing something with a formula in Excel and your suggestion was simple and helpful. Again, however, it is only a workaround for a long established helpful behavior that Apple has inexplicably broken/removed in Mavericks Mail.
    I, and the other posters here, would love to have the capability back rather than have to add previously unneeded steps to our workflows.
    Ultimately we may add scripting steps to the FileMaker side to export the address lists with commas inserted already if Apple ends up having permanently removed this feature.

  • CUCM 10.5 - Order of trunks in Route Group ignored...Not sure why

    Question #1
    I've had a voice mail pilot number working for a long time now.  It's MS Unified Messaging (MS UM for short).  Since we have more than one MS UM server, I thought I'd go ahead and create a SIP trunk for each of the MS UM servers and then put them in the existing Route Group (RG).  I thought I'd go ahead and reorder the trunk groups listed in the RG just to be sure my configure for the new trunk groups was correct.  I have the SIP Options Ping enabled in my SIP profile and I do see all the MS UM SIP trunks with a status of 'Full Service'.  Anyway, if I place one of the newly added SIP trunks for MS UM at the top of the existing RG, my calls are still ending up at the original MS UM server.  It's like CUCM is ignoring the fact that I placed the new SIP trunk at the top and it keeps routing to the old/existing SIP trunks/MS UM server I had in this RG.   I tried resetting the SIP trunks and also reset the Route List (which I didn't think I'd need to do, but I did it anyway) and the result is the same.  It won't select the new SIP trunks no matter what I try.
    I didn't try removing the original SIP trunk from that RG yet and I don't want to do it during the business day, but I could try that after hours and see what happens then.
    Any ideas about why it won't use the new SIP trunks even though they're in service and at the top of the RG list (higher priority), above the original SIP trunk?  My RG is set for top down, not circular.
    Question #2:
    Here's a somewhat related question.  (screenshot attached for this one)  I first thought I could simply go to the original SIP trunk and add the other IP addresses for the ofther MS UM servers so I wouldn't need to create more SIP trunk groups for this.  Maybe I'm understanding it wrong, so please enlighten me what these fields are really used for.  On the SIP trunk page, there's a SIP Information section and that's where you add the IP address of the device CUCM is talking to (Destination).  For example, the MS UM server.  Was I wrong to assume that if the SIP trunks would be identical in their config you can simply add the other IP addresses for the alternate MS UM servers here in this section of the SIP trunks page?   What exactly would the extra IP address fields be used for (when you click + to added another address)?
    As soon as I added a second IP address, my calls to MS UM stopped working.  After I removed the second IP (which is for an alternate MS UM server), everything started working again.  Just curious how that IP address field should really be used.  For now, I simply created new SIP trunk groups for the other MS UM servers.
    Thanks :-)

    Hello,
    For me both questions are related, and I expect a communication issue between CUCM and the new MS UM server.
    I would like to start with the 2nd question as it answers both, the below is mentioned in the admin guide of CUCM 8.5 but no much explanation was added to the admin guide of 10.0:
    "•When an outbound call gets placed, a destination address gets chosen randomly. No preference is given to one destination address over another. All SIP messages that are sent out for a given outbound call go to the same destination address.
    •The SIP trunk accepts inbound messages from any of the configured destination addresses."
    The above answers your inquiry, redundancy cannot be achieved by configuring multiple destinations. And calls are dropped when you add the new ip address within the same trunk, because it was chosen but the CUCM was not able to communicate with it, and also this explains why the new MS UM server trunk was not selected in the RG, as CUCM also was not able to communicate with it and moved to the next member in the RG (i.e. the old MS UM).
    - Can you try to ping the new MS UM server from CUCM server, SSH to CUCM server and issue the following command: utils network ping IP_ADDRESS_OF_NEW_MS_UM
    - It can be that the new MS UM server is configured to accept only SIP UDP messages, can you try changing it from the SIP security Profile?
    If the above two suggestions did not help to isolate the issue, then we need detailed CCM logs covering test outgoing call together with the IP addresses of both MS UM servers.
    Thank you,
    Shadi

  • Added third partition and cant boot into Windows.

    So I had windows 8.1 bootcamped, and being the idiot i am, created a third partition, messing up my bootcamp. I am unable to boot into Windows now. I suspect my mbr and gpt are out of sync, but do not know how to fix this. By the way, both disk utility and finder show that the bootcamp partition is there, but there is not option to boot into it on the boot selection menu thingy.

    Back up your data. Erase then format the drive. Reinstall OSX and Windows.

  • I use the Dogsters/Catsters to be involve with other people and cannot get into the groups, sites or anything! Help!

    It seems that the web site Dogsters/Catsters is not cooperating with me using Firefox to read and answer any of the e-mails I get from this company. I love it and wish to contact my furiends in this group. However, I can only read my e-mails and not able to respond/reply back. I can't even get into any of the sub-groups that my furs belong to. Any help would be appreciate it to combat the problem.

    Thankfully the machine has come back.
    I tried a couple of cmos/battery clears, with no success.
    Then I took out one stick of memory, cleared the cmos and it all worked on rebooting!
    I put back the memory slug, cleared cmos again and it continues to work!!
    What a relief - thanks xmad.

  • Making all paths into a group without selection

    I'm working on a script that will take every pathItem in a document and put it into a group (all pathItems in the document are groupless upon opening it, so there won't be other groups already in the document).
    I have a script that creates a group, then puts the highest placed pathItem into the group. I just can't figure out how to have to grab all pathitems in the document, or loop this one action until everything is in a single group. Also the kicker is, as the title suggests this script has to work without selecting anything by hand first (in other words having to click something to select it). Now if there's was a way to select everything with a script that would be awesome.
    Here's what I have so far:
    #target Illustrator
    //based on script from Carlos Canto
    var doc = app.activeDocument
    if ( app.documents.length > 0 ) {
    doc = app.activeDocument;
    newGroupItem = doc.activeLayer.groupItems.add();
    var gi = doc.groupItems[0]; // the topmost existing group
    var all = doc.pathItems[0]; // all paths in document
    all.move (gi, ElementPlacement.PLACEATBEGINNING); // move selected path inside the group
    all.evenodd = true; // necessary to determine "insideness" or to make holes.
    I also have this that I found here on the forum
    #target Illustrator
    // GroupFromSel.jsx
    // regards pixxxelschubser
    if ( app.documents.length > 0 && app.activeDocument.selection.length > 0) {
        var aDoc = app.activeDocument;
        var Sel = aDoc.selection;
        var GroupFromSel = aDoc.groupItems.add();
        for ( i = Sel.length-1; i >= 0; i--) {
            Sel[i].moveToBeginning( GroupFromSel )
    But saddly it requires selecting so two scripts, two possible solutions. I'm just working on both until I can get one to work.
    Any ideas?

    var all = doc.pathItems[0]; // all paths in document
    that's only the top most pathItem, change that to
    var all = doc.pathItems; // all paths in document
    ...and loop thru "all" and move each inside your group
    #target Illustrator
    //based on script from Carlos Canto
    if ( app.documents.length > 0 ) {
        doc = app.activeDocument;
        var gi = doc.activeLayer.groupItems.add();
        var all = doc.pathItems; // all paths in document
        for (i=0; i<all.length; i++) {
            eachPath = all[i];
            eachPath.move (gi, ElementPlacement.PLACEATBEGINNING); // move all pathItems inside the group
    else
        alert('no documents to process');
    for this set up we will run into trouble if you have other groups with pathItems

  • Call Manager Migration 7.1.5 to 9.1 / Trunking : ICT vs. SIP

    Hello All,
         Currently studying for CCNA Voice and have been asked by my current employer to upgrade CUCM 7.1.5 to 9.1.1. There has been a time frame put on the deployment however I want to dig pretty deep into the deployment to learn as much as possible. I am going to start by configuring a trunk between the 2 call manager clusters. from there I will add users to the new call manager and try to convert slowly to the new call manager instead of one big cutover. I will place a route pattern over the trunk so that cucm 9.1 will route through cucm 7.1 while I slowly convert users to the new system. I will then deploy directory numbers in a Staging partition that is not associated with any CSS. Once I have all users and phones configured on the new 9.1 call manager I want to use the bulk admin tool to change the staging partition to the working internal_PT production partition. The users will be imported from LDAP.  My questions are, does this sound like a feasible plan?  Is there any other difference between a SIP trunk and ICT besides the SIP and H.323 protocol? ( I prefer SIP from what I have read) and will having the same users on both boxes interfere with call processing, if these users and phones are not active yet?

    Just for the record. I found the solution to my problem. Checking more logs I read this:
    The installation has encountered a unrecoverable internal error. For further assistance report the following information to your support provider.
    "/usr/local/cm/script/cm-dbl-ontape_backup-install RU PostInstall 9.1.2.11900-12 7.1.5.30000-1 /usr/local/cm/ /common/component/database /common/log/install/capture.txt " terminated. Exceeded max time (240)
    The system will now halt.
    So I accessed the Dissaster Recovery Section on CUCM and deleted the tape backup device that was configured there. After deleting it the upgrade went well.

  • Why we dont' see H323 gateway and SIP trunk "registered" in CCM?

    in CCM admin, we see the status of H323 gateways and SIP trunks have no "registered to xxxx" status.

    Unlike devices with other protocols, there is no registration mechanism for these.

    also if there's port 8084 configured on server properties, jboss start using 8080 (maybe i've done some error while registering jboss, i dunno but i'm a newbye of eclipse). So changing port to 8080 in server properties for jboss solve the problem.

  • Inter-Trunk not route incoming calls from out

    Hi,
    I setup one extra gateway where I try to route part of our calls. So far I have success to route internal calls into there, but when I'm making a test call from outside that ends into "number is not used" problem.
    I have:
    - Route ready, elsewere the internal calls are not working.
    - PSTN usage, linked to the Route
    - Trunk configuration where I have selected the PSTN usage
    - Incoming numbers are coming in E164 format
    I have also tested the "Test-CsInterTrunkRouting" and that gives "pass":
    FirstMatchingRoute : Description=;NumberPattern=^\+358123654789;Name=Test
                         Gateway;SuppressCallerId=False;AlternateCallerId=
    MatchingUsage      : Test PSTN Usage
    MatchingRoutes     : {Description=;NumberPattern=^\+358123654789;Name=Test
                         Gateway;SuppressCallerId=False;AlternateCallerId=}
    But still, when I made a call from outsited the OCSLogger shows that mediation server try to offer call to Front-End which says only: "SIP/2.0 404 Not Found" and then bye-bye.
    What is the missing magic, which made the mediation server to see alternative route? I hope it is not required that mediation server must be collocated on the Front Ends, as that one I do not have.
    Any good ideas?
    ps.
    I'm not sure does it matter, but my Lync gives "SIP/2.0 403 Forbidden" when there is coming call from extra gateway. But as the calls into there works, then I don't see why external calls should not also work.

    Could it be even so, that intra-trunk routing requires consolidated mediation server? As the call is owned by the Mediation server (stanalone), and it is trying to offer that to FE. FE reply "does not exist". Because of the standalone Mediation
    server does not have the call routing engine like FE have, the call is lost.
    I started to think above as Lync users are able to call to that number. So FE is able to do the routing and get calls into the correct place.
    I have to say also, I have read
    Ken's blog about inter-trunk routing, I have to say that I'm not so sure what he means by this: "Fortunately, in most cases, adding PSTN usages to the trunk has no effect, since there is almost always a Lync user assigned to the incoming phone
    numbers". Why to add additional routing for the numbers which are already inuse? I hope it is not required, that you need to have a users ID for each number you do the inter-trunk routing?

  • How to put individual FXO trunk into a trunk group

    I have a 3725 with 2 vic2-4fxo cards configured as H.323 in ccm 4.0.2a. Currently I have to configure 8 pots dial peers to point to each fxo port for outbound call. I would like to find out if there is a way set up like a trunk group for fxo that way I just need one pots dial peer and point it to the trunk group instead of 8 seperate dial peers pointing to each port. Kinda like route group and route list in ccm.
    Can someone help ?
    Thanks in advance !!!

    Danny,
    Please see following website:
    http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios123/123tcr/123tvr/vrht_t3.htm#wp1622963
    1. create trunk-group (voice port) assign to voice-port interface.
    2. then create trunk-group-label (dial-peer) assing to dial-peer level.

  • I press reset and now i can't get into router interface?

    Yestoday i was just experimenting with my router. I set up a restriction for 12am to 12:05am to see if it will block my sister's internet just for the fun.
    However it did not work.
    Today my internet was slow because of my sister's laptop. Probably downloading some soft of content. I decide to press the reset button therefore her connection would be taken off.
    However  now i want to fix that. I understand how to get into my router's interface:
    -By going to my computer and then typing 192.168.1.1 on top...
    -Yestoday when i did that it worked. I was able to get into router interface, but now i can't. It gives me "cannot find server"
    I don't understand why i can't get into my router's set up~
    Can this be fixed?

    it might be that the reaosn why you're not accessing up the router's set-up page is because the computer connected to it is not getting a valid IP adress already...
    to check this...
    go to START, then RUN
    type in cmd
    in the command line, type in ipconfig
    take note of your IP adress... that's the computer IP adress..
    Now, take note of your default gateway... that is equivalent to your router's IP adress...
    in the same window, type in (ping default gateway #) ping 192.168.1.1 . if it replies, then your router's interface should be able to open up
    launch internet explorer, then type in http://192.168.1.1
