Adding Image Blurs Type on Page

hello!
I have had this issue in CS4 and CS5 for over a year and have not been able to find an answer or someone else with the issue. Help!
In some instances, when I add photos to a page (size does not seem to matter) the type on that page will blur or look fuzzy. I have checked all settings and cannot find any consistancy as to why it happens. The print and pdf of the document show the fuzzy text and makes the page look different than the rest of the document.
Suggestions?!

Adding images and buttons without a frame appearing

I would like to add images to some of my pages without having them appear in a frame. I would like to place some transparent gifs on the page to use as buttons for hyperlinks. I would also like to have some photos (with transparent backgrounds that appear on the page and are not surrounded by a picture frame. Any Suggestions

iWeb seems to default to stroking newly-added images and shapes. Pages (iWeb's close relation) includes a way to change the default appearance, but I can't find anything similar in iWeb. You can, of course, remove the stroke using the Graphic Inspector (just set Stroke to None). Transparency in gifs and photo images is supported. Just drag into iWeb or use Insert > Choose... Again, remove the stroke if this appears.

Image blurred after import into pages documents?

Hi there, I've been working on the user manual of my software these days. I found out that everytime I took screenshots, they were clear --- as clear as the screen, and after inserting to my pages documents, the images got blurred badly.
I've checked the size, and they were identical, which means there are no resizes.
I thought it was the difference of the resolution: screen was 72 dpi, and maybe pages uses higher dpi? So I converted my images to 300 dpi, and they are still blurred after insertion.

Where are they blurred? In Pages or on the print out?
If in Pages, are you sure you display the pages at 100% (identical to the screen shot)?
I am not able to reproduce your problem unless I either resize the screen shot in the Pages document or change the page view to something different from 100%.
I do not have a printer, but my guess is that the printout would look fine, even if you resize the screen shot, so it looks blurry on screen.

Slanted web pages and blurred type

Good afternoon,
I have been trying to figure out a reason to why my firefox web browser keeps jumbling into a slanted page and blurred type when I roll my mouse over anything. I have upgraded the software and reset it twice, turned off and on my computer multiple times. And every time I re-open firefox the slanting page begins. My initial thought was that our internet was down. But that seems not to be true. Then I thought I had a virus, but I work on a mac, so I don't know what else to do. Do you have any solutions I could try to use to fix this problem. I have a screen shot if you need a visual of the problem.

I checked all data. There is no such dataset in the database. Can anybody give me a hint how to avoid this error.
One thing I wonder: The PermanentId is allways the same but I can´t do anything here.

Hi Ritam,
For such issues, can you please create a new thread or directly email the author rather than dragging back up a very old thread, it is unlikely that the resolution would be the same as the database/application/etc releases would most probably be very different.
For now I will close this thread as unanswered.

Can we resize and change the background image in a 2 page layout?

I am a two page layout report in RTF. Can I use different background image on page 1 and page 2? The first page background will not be repeated but the second page will. Also, it seems when we insert a background image by going "Format -> Background -> Fill effect -> Picture", after we finished the whole process we can't get the background image to fit with the page, can we resize it to be fit with the page? Thanks for your help!

Yes. Select the image and go to the Inspector/Hyperlink/Link pane and use the Link to One of my Pages option.
Remember: the photo must be added to the page by dragging it onto the page and then be selected. It can't be added as a background image with the Inspector/Page/Layout pane.

Can't drag images into new album page

Just started using iWeb because it seems easy to produce good looking basic pages. I may be missing something obvious, but having trawled all through this forum and iWeb help, I can't work out why the album page won't accept images dragged from the iPhoto tab of the media browser.
Any suggestions?

Thanks for the prompt reply Mr Old Toad. In fact, despite the title of "Album Page" seeming to be self explanatory (usually the case with Mac software & why I love it so much) and the software instructions which say "Drag photo and movie pages here to make them accessible from one place", this time I have discovered by messing around that you have to add a "photos" page while the Album page is selected on the left. You then drag the required images into the photo page (not the album page). Each additional photo page added appears on the Album page as it is added.
One of the first methods I tried was to create an album in iPhoto and attempt to drag that into the album page. Didn't work, hence my request on this forum. So, looks like I answered my question myself. I still appreciate your diligent attention to this forum Mr Old Toad. I'm sure there will be a future problem that may not be so easily solved and that your or another's suggestion will come to the rescue.

How to change background image for each individual page in a template?

I've been working for hours to try to figure out how to change the background image for each individual page in a template. I have tried making a div in the body and adding a CSS and setting a background picture. Unfortunately even after I made it editable all templated webpages changed. I tried looking at different forum results which didn't really help me out. http://forums.adobe.com/message/2670005#2670005#2670005. I've also tried embeding a CSS style on the webpage instead of the external CSS which again didn't work. I'm not sure where to go from here. Is there a good video that explains this clearly. Please help. Thanks.

Using Image Metadata On Book Page - Can't Make It Work!

I've created a book of images. I've added a metadata box on the page template (the metadata desired is the version name of the image), and what I want to happen is to have the Version Name automatically printed -- for the image used on that page -- on each page of the printed book (it would be different for each page). Now, I note that when I click on that box on the page, the metadata listing is blank, and there is no way to fill in the version name.
I cannot use the solution that appends the version name to the image itself.
Help! Is my desired solution possible?

Background layer seizes added images.

I am trying to create a photo collage by scratch (not using "Collage"). First I create a new blank page for the background and save it. It is shown as "locked" with a padlock. Then I open an image file (.jpg) to add to the background layer, and I get a message that I need to unlock the background layer so I click to unlock it. However the added image locks onto the background layer and doesn't make a new layer. If I open another image file it locks on top of the others.

The Layers panel only shows the layer(s) belonging to the currently active file. You need to arrange your image windows so that you can see your composite image as well as the source. With the source image active the Layers panel will show the source - click and drag that layer to the composite.
So in the following, the violet image is the active image and I drag its layer to the white image I've created for my collage. In the composite image with the new layer selected I can position it where I want. Select each of the other images in turn and do the same. Refer to my previous note, you can also do this with Copy & Paste.
When finished, your composite image and its Layers panel will look like this:

Multiple images associated with a page.

I want some pages to have multiple images associated with them. Currently, you can insert one image per page using the page properties. What if you want to have multiple images associated with a page? For example, you might want to have a large image, small image, a logo image, and an icon (all different images not just different sizes). I was thinking of overriding the page propties and adding those images to the dialog. Any thoughts?

Actually, the only use to image associated with page properties that I know is to use it on carousels. I realy don't see a need to do what you want, because you can get this "multi-render" effect directly from DAM. If you double click your asset on DAM, on the right side of the page there is multi-size samples, and you can even change this, and you can even use this multi-sized images, referencing the direct path that DAM generates to you.
Maybe if you tell us your needs, we can think about another solutions (:

Why are forms 10g Images blur on run time ?

Hi everyone,
I've created a form in 6i that contains many images of type .bmp & gif as i run the form all pictures show clearly.
I upgrading the same form to 10g, as i'm running the form, all images appear blur !!!
Can anyone explain why?
Is there any solution for this weird phenomenon ?

That's very curious as the appeared to take a long time to download each. They also reported being fully downoladed in the download window in iTunes. It's certainly never happened before that they would synchronise without being fully downloaded.

How to prevent embedded images falling off the page

I have embedded images in a multi-column document. It's great to have the images flow with the text, but sometimes they flow over the edge of the page. Is there a way to set the keep options so that embedded images stay on the page?

Again, I'm going to ask what behavior you expect for this? Where would you have that image move? If what you want is for the entire paragraph to go to the next page, you are using the correct mothod by adding a keep option that will keep sufficient lines together to match the image height. Adding the keep within the top and bottom boundaries of the column (rather than the page) for inline anchored images might be useful if it behaved like a keep option forcing the containing paragraph to the next page, but not so good if it pushed the position of the image up or down relative to its anchor point.
What you are learning is that anchored objects are extremely useful, but that they are problematic when they fall at the bottom of a column. You almost always need to som manual editing to accomodate the odd case.

I just want to type on a plain piece of paper. I want to type several pages. I go to Pages and the blank paper has a text box around my type and only lets me type 400 words. How do I expand?

On the introductory window, also make sure you pick from the top choices under Word Processing - I just use "Blank". If you choose the Blank under the sedon set (page layout), you will have to get a text box. I use that setting if I have a lot of images I want to insert and then have text around/near the images.

When you're done with that page, it should automatically move to the next one or you can choose another blank page in the pulldown in the toolbar.

Personalization: Adding Items in the Review Page

Hi,
I have successfully added items in the previous page (Employment Type) before the review page. I was able to submit it and see the changes in APPS.
Right now, whenever I reach the review page and I did some changes with my newly added items, these items are, naturally, not displayed in the Review Page. I thought it will be as simple as creating items in the Review Page (thru Personalization, of course) but I couldn't add the current and proposed value. Couldn't even display the static texts properly in the Review Page.
So how can I add items in the Review Page?? I tried using the same view attribute and view instance but it didn't give me any value.
I'm still new with OAF personalization so any recommendations on books to read are welcome.
