Adding images to my video

Thank you in advance for any help. I am new to your posting and to final cut so please bear with me.
I have imported jpg and tiff images to a final cut project: settings are as follows: I heard tiff images may come out better than jpg. I thought I would try both. I am not putting any motion on the images…
a)my first image is a group shot 3024x3072 at 300 res. (which serves as my back drop for the headshots and I have dropped the opacity to about 50% so that the headshots are the focal point) In photoshop I took each person in the groupshot and cropped a single image of their head out of the group shot to highlight and put their name next to it. the head shots were cropped from the group shot at 1280 x 720 at 72 res. I then placed the headshots over their actual heads in the group shot. I am not enlarging these headshots but I am scaling them down in final cut . The images are coming out distorted when played back on a tv set. They are somewhat distorted when played back on the television. by distorted I mean the eye looks closed when it is not etc… faces look almost unrecognizable.
The video is :
frame size 960x720
compressor dvcpro hd 720p60 (according to my browser)
I would be grateful for any assistance with the problem.

I did not choose a preset. I just dropped the footage in the timeline and it automatically set it.
I noticed when I leave the headshots at original size the pic did not look distorted at all on the playback on tv. in fact they looked great..... but i did not want the headshots at original size, i needed them to be smaller to fit on to the group shot .as you can see on my screen shot of my test video..

This is not Adobe. Rather user to user. We are all visitors here.
Just a bit of history....back in the days of Premiere Elements 4, you could set a "poster frame" in what was called the Project area. You did this by right clicking a blank area there and, from the drop down menu that appeared, selecting View/Preview Area, and using the poster frame feature there.
As I said, when a video imports into Premiere Elements, the thumbnail of the import has been presenting as the first frame of the video. With this Preview area "poster frame" option, you could set the video's thumbnail in the Project area so that the first frame was another frame in the video. But, this "perk" was restricted to thumbnails of the video in Project area.
If you exported to file with the first frame modified video, the export's thumbnail in Windows Explorer would present with other than the real first frame or the poster frame as the first frame.
Also, in more recent versions, I have observed that the export to file does not display the real first frame of the video in Windows Explorer. Seems random, but I have not kept track.
And, remember, at the onset I wrote
As far as I have ever seen, Premiere Elements Windows uses the first frame of the video for its thumbnail in the program.
I know of no way within Premiere Elements to control what the program opts to do in this matter. In some compatibility
issues, it opts to give no image but a generic one.
I did not say that you can expect to have the Premiere Elements' export file's thumbnail in Windows displaying with its real first frame. And, the more you get into this, depending on the versions, more details need to be added to my comment about "...first frame of video for its thumbnail in the program..."
I would have to look into all this further to get perspective on the contributing factors.

Embedding "album cover" image in a video podcast file

I've created a video podcast and successfully submitted it to ITMS. The issue is that the individual episodes of my video podcast do not have cover art images associated with them. Instead, when I test subscribed to my video podcast, it generated an "album cover" for the podcast in a seemingly random fashion. For the first episode, it grabbed a still frame from second 6 of the .m4v file. and for the second episode, it grabbed a still frame from second 11 of the .m4v file.
So, I thought I would go into the .m4v file via QTPro and create an image metadata association like is done with ID3 tags in .mp3 files. However, I cannot find a away to do that.
Does anyone know how to embed an "album cover" image into a video podcast file (.m4v file)?
If I add an image to the file via iTunes Get Info>Art Work tab and then export it back to my server, will the added image stay embedded in the .m4v file so that when others subscribe to my video podcast they will see my selected "album" artwork for that episode?

You were correct. Adding album artwork through iTunes "Get Info>Art Work" tab and then exporting my video podcast file back out to my server did the trick. I tested subscribing to it and this time my video podcasts had the album artwork that I selected attached to them.

QUESTION:
My question is how do I add an image to the list component?

attribute to the XML file as img="time_square.jpg" and added the
element of the array when calling/creating the list. Did I do this
right?

Lost images/sound clips/video when changing langua...

i've never had this problem or any similar problems in the 4 months i've had this phone. today i changed the language from english to tagalog (pilipino), and when the phone restarted it had deleted all of my images (bar one), videos and sound clips (bar one). that's all i've noticed it has deleted so far, my messages and contacts are still there. i've never had problems with it prior to this happening... is there any way of recovering the data?

I've also got same problem. Interestingly enough, background music added to DVDs title page plays OK on the burned CD (everything previews perfectly). However, go to 'play' the burned DVD, and while the video is there, the audio tracks are silent. Source material is an iMove project, and audio tracks are all AIFF files.
Also tried physically burning the DVD with Disk Utility. DVD burns OK, but on playback (both on home stereo DVD player, and on Mac), title slide and background music works fine, but after selecting to play the movie, the audio tracks are all gone... only silence This is with burning directly from iDVD, or by saving the project as an img file, and then burning it to DVD via Disk Utility.
Any clues appreciated!

I checked all data. There is no such dataset in the database. Can anybody give me a hint how to avoid this error.
One thing I wonder: The PermanentId is allways the same but I can´t do anything here.

For such issues, can you please create a new thread or directly email the author rather than dragging back up a very old thread, it is unlikely that the resolution would be the same as the database/application/etc releases would most probably be very different.

How to insert a flying image in a video

How to insert flying images in a video...someone it's speaking in the left side and in the right side some flying pictures are coming, staying for 2-3 seconds one by one....some ideas???
Like the weather forecast...you have someone in the left side speaking and she is showing some images in the right side.
Please let me know if you know how it can be done this in after effects or with another video editor...

It can be done in either. There are 3 steps.
Learn about greenscreen (keying) including lighting, filming, best formats for video (the way they do it in the weather segment) or masking and roto.
learn about image editing including sizing images, color correcting, applying effects
learn about controlling motion and editing duration of stills in a NLE or After Effects
When you have a few of these basics down and have designed your production you then load up the video and the stills, key out the background or mask around your talent to separate the talent from the background, add your photos to the time line and animate their duration and position.
This is extremely basic stuff that can be accomplished in a NLE or in AE. You can basically reproduce just about any effect you've ever seen in a movie in AE with the right planning and plug-ins. You can do just about anything you've ever seen in a news broadcast in any modern NLE.

Apple have a big flaw adding images to Apple TV coding error.

Hi all, it seems Apple have a big flaw in there new version of itunes 8.2.0.23.
So heres the problem if you have a Apple Tv system. Adding images is great however the softwares flaw is when you have a lot of images. i have over 3000, and tick boxes apear half way in the list, for know reason.
i have add a link to show you guys and girls a screen shot...
can anyone from apple sort this out?
it really bugging me. as it happens of vista, xp, windows 7, and osx.

I don´t see the folders image, music and videos on my FINDER

I have a new MacBook pro, but I was wondering why the folders IMAGES, MUSIC and VIDEOS are not in the FINDER?

the finder only have the favorites folder, however the icons of MUSIC, VIDEOS and IMAGES are not in this list... so I don´t know where to save the music, photos, etc... this is my 1st experience with a macbook.

Adding images and buttons without a frame appearing

I would like to add images to some of my pages without having them appear in a frame. I would like to place some transparent gifs on the page to use as buttons for hyperlinks. I would also like to have some photos (with transparent backgrounds that appear on the page and are not surrounded by a picture frame. Any Suggestions

iWeb seems to default to stroking newly-added images and shapes. Pages (iWeb's close relation) includes a way to change the default appearance, but I can't find anything similar in iWeb. You can, of course, remove the stroke using the Graphic Inspector (just set Stroke to None). Transparency in gifs and photo images is supported. Just drag into iWeb or use Insert > Choose... Again, remove the stroke if this appears.

Added music track to video..entire screen is green and I cannot delete music track

I added music track to video, inadvertently dropped outside of clip now entire area outside of track is green and I can't remove or delete music.

i literally deleted the entire "Purchases" folder and restarted the phone. it recreated the folder (except without all our problem files) as soon as it powered back on.
no idea what downloads refers to - i tried this process with that folder and it didn't change anything or solve the prob.
as for the syncing of the playlist - i still don't think that would solve it. it seems like there is a discrepancy being created whenever a song is downloaded from the store, period. and as for deleting the stream files - no. I switched over to manual manage, deleted the files manually, but they simply recreated themselves as soon as i did another sync.
It was indeed the purchases folder that needed reconciling.
as a fun side note - i used phoneview to make a PDF of all my 60,000 texts from the previous 3 years, and then deleted them from my phone - saving myself like 10 gigs
realizing now this could all seem like i'm some rep for the phoneview app. i swear i'm not hahahaha

Changing Cover Flow images for a video

Is there a way to change the image of a video in Cover Flow? For instance, I have a mp4 video of my little cousin on his birthday as we all sing Happy Birthday to him. When I am using finder, in the folder with the video, and I switch to Cover Flow mode, the preview is a still image of the video. Instead, I want it to show a jpg photo I have of him blowing out his candles. I've changed the icon to the jpg, but I can't figure out how to change the image in Cover Flow.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. It would be a fun way to organize a lot of family videos I have.

You need to trim the clip in a video editor and then add it to the slideshow.

Background layer seizes added images.

I am trying to create a photo collage by scratch (not using "Collage"). First I create a new blank page for the background and save it. It is shown as "locked" with a padlock. Then I open an image file (.jpg) to add to the background layer, and I get a message that I need to unlock the background layer so I click to unlock it. However the added image locks onto the background layer and doesn't make a new layer. If I open another image file it locks on top of the others.

The Layers panel only shows the layer(s) belonging to the currently active file. You need to arrange your image windows so that you can see your composite image as well as the source. With the source image active the Layers panel will show the source - click and drag that layer to the composite.
So in the following, the violet image is the active image and I drag its layer to the white image I've created for my collage. In the composite image with the new layer selected I can position it where I want. Select each of the other images in turn and do the same. Refer to my previous note, you can also do this with Copy & Paste.
When finished, your composite image and its Layers panel will look like this:

I am dire need of adding images to search results, particularly the thumb of the resulting product(s). The tags TAG_NAME and TAG_DESCRIPTION work, but TAG_SMALLIMAGE doesn't. Any help would be much appreciated.

Search for the below style rule in the above CSS file and make suggested modifications:
