Adding Index marks to the words of finished chapters...

Hi Everyone,
We are working in InDesignCS2 for books, the chapters & everything is completed. only the Index is pending to complete the book. We have index entries separately as word document. Now the concern is how to create the index marks for corresponding words to the completed chapters in InDesign??? Finding each words and putting index mark to those words is so difficult. Because we have more than 2000 words. Please suggest & help me for this concern. Thanks in advance.

Word has a Concordance function, InDesign does not. You should have inserted all markers into your original Word document before placing these into ID. Next time, think ahead.
That said: if you still have your original Word documents, you can apply the same
b page breaks
there as are in your latest InDesign version. If the contents match page by page, you can use Word to create the index.
Doesn't that sound like a real emergency solution? Well, you could have done it by hand by now, as this is the same post as Apr 29 (

I am making a slideshow in iMovie and I added beat marks to my background music. But before the music starts I want a silent 5 second title slide.

I first added a song to my project and added beat marks using the "tap M" feature where I want a beat mark. Then I dragged in a number of still photos. The photos look great. Changing to the beat of the song. But now I want to add a Title Text window at the very beginning, have it on the screen for about 4-5 seconds, and then start my slideshow to the music. The problem is when I add that text window to the begining, the song wants to start there. I want it to start on the first photo. Can anyone help?

Quicktype adding a space after the selected word.

Does anybody know if the following can be disabled / adjusted or overcome in any way?
If you accept the suggested word then a space is automatically added after the word. If you then wish to add a full-stop, (sorry, "insert a period"!!) comma, exclamation mark etc you have to backspace to the end of the word.
Not earth-shatteringly important nor difficult I know but seriously annoying!

Description -> contains -> Duplicate
will find them.
Then the keystroke to delete depends on which version of iPhoto you have. All the keyboard shortcuts are under the Help menu.

Currently I am working in a WCF project here when I try to send data from WCF Project 1 to WCF project 2 I am getting the below error.

The starting quote marks at the end of a line in my epub file are routinely separated from the word quoted which appears on the next line. The formatting contractor accurance.com who prepared this epub file tells me that this is a feature of Adobe Digital Edition 2.0 and that there is nothing they can do to correct this. Are they correct, or else how can this problem be overcome?

I'm not sure about buying css style sheets.
You don't need one for each book; if you want to have a series of books all with the same general format,
then they should all use the same style sheet on a given device, but maybe different style sheets for different devices.
All the books will then have one consistent look on a given device, and a different consistent look on another device.
ADE only runs on PCs and Macs. There are lots of different ereader software apps out there for running on different devices.
For a dedicated device, you are stuck with the reader the device provides.
For tablets you can download different ereader apps, for example Bluefire (my favourite, ios, Android), Aldiko (android) and DReader and DL Reader (windows RT).
I don't know if the readers/apps are derived from the same root as ADE in any way and likely to show similar bugs.
If it is not DRM, you should certainly try on Calibre, which is the most popular (free) ereader app for computers.
If you care to create a very short non DRM extract (complete with css) and post it somewhere on the web I'll have a quick look.
If you have inclination to get more involved yourself,
there is free software called sigil (https://code.google.com/p/sigil/) that will help you get off the ground and experiment.

Does anyone know how to replace quotation marks with double angle quotation marks, still keeping the word in the middle?
For example: I search for a word with quotation marks by typing in: (")(\w+)(") in the "find what" field. What should I type in the "change to" field?
I'd be very grateful for answers!

It's much simpler: find " and replace with " (make sure that 'Use typographer's quotes' is enabled in the preferences).

The check marks in the check boxes I added to a Muse Form widget appear blurry. Is there somewhere that I can edit the resolution of these? Why would the default check marks be at the incorrect resolution? Could it be something I did when designing the form?

The checkmarls are simple images. If you scale up the check mark or look at it in higher magnification, it of course appears blurry.
You may want to replace the check marks by graphics of your own (perhaps scaleable SVGs)
Select a check box, open the states panel and see the different states; change the graphics for the desired state by using the "Fill"-command in command strip on top of the application window.

Trouble with adding attachment to email-can't get to the word choose

When I get to the attachment page and pick the attachment I want to add to my email I can't get to the word choose at the bottom of the page and I can't adjust the page size to make it smaller because it's not in view either. When I log in on another computer I have no problem. I also just started having this problem, I'm not sure but maybe it started after installing safari 4.0.

Settings>iTunes/App store...tap the ID shown...sign out...now, sign back in with the ID you want to use.

What is the source of this Crawl Error `The item could not be indexed successfully because the item failed in the indexing subsystem`

Once in a while my full-crawl fails and stops working properly. The crawllogs show this error for all items crawled.

The full crawls starts out ok, after a while (1.5 hours into the process, 50% of all the data) suddenly no more items can be added to the index.
The index seems to be stuck. The index files on disk are no longer updated (Located in D:\Microsoft
Office Servers\15.0\Data\Office Server\Applications\Search\Nodes\BAADC4\IndexComponent3\storage\data\SP4d91e6081ac3.3.I.0.0\ms\%default) The Index and Admin component start to report these error in the ULS logs:

Looks to me the index has troubles updating/merging 'generations'. But the exact working of the indexer is not documented (as far is I know). Let alone how to fix this.
Other (maybe related) observations
Just before the errors start the NodeRunnerIndex starts a 'checkpoint': Journal[SP4d91e6081ac3]:
Starting checkpoint because forceCheckpoint is true.which ends a few moments later with Journal[SP4d91e6081ac3]:
All journal users have completed checkpoint Checkpoint[7560-7569].
Also just before the errors start to appear a TimerJob starts: Name=Timer
Job job-application-server-admin-service. This timerjobs does some strange things to the search topology: Synchronizing
Search Topology for application 'Search Service Application' with active topology [...] and Activating
components. Previous topology: --- New Topology: TopologyId: [...] followed by Starting
to execute Index RedistributeData method.
And right after these two evente the errors start to occur. (each row is a ULS log enrty)

The Question What is causing this? And how to prevent it? It happend twice in two weeks

Known Fix This resolves the problem, but doesn's address the root-cause of the problem!
Stop all crawls.
Wait a few minutes to let the crawl come to a complete stop.
Reset the index (clearing all!)
Start a full-crawl. In the meantime no search is available to the end user (boohoo!)

I searched for the similar error log, the issue is finally solved by adding more drive space even though they though there is plenty space already.

From your decription, the issue seems to occur to your full crawl. There is one point in best practise for crawling:
