Adding individual albums or songs from another itunes

Is it possible to sync your ipod to your "home" mac then go to the "work" mac and add individual songs or albums without erasing the original content to a ipod classic?

how can i transfer songs from another itunes other than mine

Purchases made under 1 Apple ID are permanently associated with that Apple ID and CANNOT be transferred to another Apple ID.  So if you want to keep those songs, you'll need to always have access to your dad's account.

  • Plz help ! how do i restore songs from another itunes library?

Okay, yesterday i charged my ipod in my mac laptop and this morning my brother pulled it out. then my ipod would turn on and the wire icon just kept appearing on the screen of my ipod. once i put it in my laptop my ipod froze and the only way any songs or any information would appear on it is if i synced it to my laptop itunes library . The problem with this is all my songs were from my cousins itunes library and they all got erased . I tried restoring it but they wont come back. I want my songs from my cousins ipod back on my ipod because it was over 400 songs. I now only have 60 songs. PLZ HELP GET THEM BACK ! im not very educated in this stuff so please provide step by step plans thnx

If the missing songs are neither on the laptop or the iPod they are gone.  You can only sync an iPod to one iTunes library.  If you then sync it to another iTunes library the iPod will be erased and it contents replaced with what is in the other iTunes library.  However, one can manage music amont multible computers/libraries.  See:

  • Transfer songs from another ITunes on new computer onto shuffle 2nd gen

my old computer broke so am using another computer now, which has ITunes already on it, however my shuffle keeps saying its already synced to another computer so i can either transfer my songs to this new computer or erase and sync with this one. i;d like to keep the songs i have on my shuffle.
i just found out i cant unsync it (shuffles apparently are only ever synced to 1 computer, unlike other IPods can)
is there any way around this? i want to add more songs to my Shuffle but its synced to my old computer which doesnt work. i need help ASAP

You can recover the songs from the shuffle and put them into your new iTunes. Once you have done that you can sync the shuffle and link it to the new library. Retrieving songs from a shuffle is a bit different from retrieving songs from a regular iPod, for a shuffle follow this process:
1). On your Windows desktop go to Edit>New folder and add a folder to receive the songs from your shuffle.
2). Download SharePod from this link: SharePod
3). Connect your shuffle to your computer. While connecting the iPod to the computer on Windows with iTunes 7.3 or later installed hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys together. Your iPod will connect but iTunes won't open, the hardware icon should appear in your Windows system tray.
4). Open Sharepod, it should have picked up the presence of your iPod and show all the songs on it.
5). Highlight all your songs in the program window (click on the first song in the list and hold down the shift key, click on the last song and all the songs in between will be selected).
6). Click Copy to PC (the icon is in the top left corner) and choose the folder you created on the desktop or simply drag the songs from SharePod to the folder: SharePod - Copying tracks to your PC
7). When all the songs have transferred close SharePod
8). Disconnect your iPod by right clicking on the hardware icon in your system tray: Safely Disconnect iPod
9). Check the desktop folder and make sure all your songs are there.
    10) Open iTunes and go to File>Add Folder to Library, navigate to the folder on your desktop and add the songs.
11). Connect your iPod. When you get the message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc. Choose "Erase and Sync", iTunes will reload your shuffle with the songs you recovered and link the iPod to this new library.

  • Can I buy a song from another iTunes Store (Example, I'm on Mexico and I want to buy an album from the UK store)?

I want to buy intimacy (remixed) by bloc party and it's only available in UK Store.

Yes, if you move to or visit the UK and supply a valid UK payment method. Otherwise, no.

  • How do I transfer songs from one iTunes library to another?

My husband and I each have our own iBook G4 and iPod mini's. I need to get songs from his itunes library (mostly downloaded from cd's) to mine so that I can put together a playlist for his surprise 50th birthday party. What's the easiest and quickest way of doing this?

    Hi, Welcome to Apple Discussions!
I think that the fastest way is:
    - connect the 2 iBooks using the Airport Extreme Card or the Ethernet
    - open finder then select network and select the remote computer
    - open iTunes, select your tracks and then drag them into the shared folder... that's it! You have just transfered your music to the other iBook and now you can create your playlist using iTunes.
If you don't know how to create a private network or something else, post another message... bye!

  • I recently downloaded an album from Amazon (a gift) directly to iTunes.  I also recently pruchased a song from the iTunes store.  In both cases, the songs in the album appear in a lighter print on my iPod and won't play when selected.  Will play on comput

I recently downloaded an album (a gift) from Amazon, one option of which is to download directly to my iTunes library (which is what I did).  I also purchased a song from the iTunes store shortly after this.  In both cases, the music shows up on my iPod touch in a lighter print than the other music on my iPod.  When I select it nothing happens.  I only plug into the computer a couple of times a month, but I perform all updates as are indicated and I synch my iPod.  Note that when I have iTunes up on my computer, the music WILL play directly from the library, just not on the iPod.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

    Hello zayasva
I would delete the songs and download them again, or plug it into iTunes to resync them back on.

  • Can I move/copy songs from one itunes account to another itunes account on the same iMac?

Can I move/copy songs from one itunes account to another itunes account on the same iMac?

You move the song files to /Users/Shared/ and then into iTunes from the other Mac OS X user account.
If you want to change the iTunes Store account associated with them, you need to redownload them from that account.

  • How do I copy songs from one itunes library to another itunes library on the same computer?

I want to share some songs in my iTunes library with my granddaughter's iTunes library, both of which are located on the same computer.  I managed to copy one of the songs through Finder to the location where the music resides, but it doesn't appear when I access her iTunes.  Can someone tell me an easy way to copy only certain songs from one iTunes library to another iTunes library on the same computer?

  • How can i copy songs from another library to my itunes library with homesharing?

How can i copy songs from another library to my itunes library with homesharing?  I see the other libraries, but cannot drag the songs into my library.  The help window says to use the "show menu" at the bottom, but I don't have that menu with itunes 11.

You can do this in 2 ways.
    1) You can enable the sidebar and you can drag and drop like you used to be able to.  To turn on Sidebar in iTunes 11, go to View > Show Sidebar
    2) Another way is to connect to your Home Share from the drop-down menu from the left (where it says Music) and select your Home Share.  Once you are connected to your Home Share, select Music and you should see a button that says "All Items" and on the right, you should see the Import button.  To copy, select the songs you want to import and then click on Import.

I need to know how many downloads individual albums and songs had off of iTunes for a project, how do I find these numbers?

Ed...maybe a little less time gaming and a bit more time in English class? They got this thing called punctuation and sentences now. Last things first; there is no amount of money that can change your GPU so you can scratch that expense off the list. So you need a battery and a fan? Where do you live? USA? We can help you find a battery but where did you plan to have the new fan put in?

  • Songs Don't Get Added Correctly To My Nano From My iTunes Playlists.

Some of the songs from my iTunes playlist don't get imported onto my Nano for some reason. I tried over and over--first deleting the playlist, then adding the playlist again to my Nano, but the same songs still don't get added correctly. They show up on the Nano's playlist, but when I try to play the song, it skips them!

The gray dot means the songs didn't get synced...
What's the provenance of the songs?
    What's the format/encoding/bitrate?
If you can’t load a song or other item onto iPod shuffle
The song might have been encoded in a format that iPod shuffle doesn’t support. The following audio file formats are supported by iPod shuffle. These include formats for audiobooks and podcasts:
    AAC (M4A, M4B, M4P) (up to 320 kbps)
    MP3 (up to 320 kbps)
    MP3 Variable Bit Rate (VBR)
    WAV
    AA (audible.com spoken word, formats 2, 3, and 4)
    AIFF
