Adding info to events
I'm a bartender and I would like to add how much money I make per shift to my events in iCal. Is there a way to do this?
Example of what i mean... I have all my shifts scheduled as events in iCal. I would like to add a little side note, to each shift, of the money so that i can track it every month.
Cool. I saw that. But is there a way to import it from somewhere else. I'm thinking of getting some sort of finance software to help keep track of things.

Add the repeat option and select every two weeks...and it shows up every day until the end date. I've re-booted the phone and tried other start dates. Same result. This is in the base iPhone calendar. No other calendars have been installed. iPhone 6 iOS 8.0.2. Any suggestions?
Found a workaround:
Just change each attribute 1 item at a time.
Create the calendar entry for one day only with no other settings.
Go back in and edit it so that its every two weeks, then leave and confirm this worked.
Open calendar back up and add in the end date.
That's the only way I could get it to accept those settings, one attribute at a time.
Misc. bug I suppose. I miss the "It just works" days. Living in silicon valley, the QA engineering buds I have at apple go on rants about the undisclosed/undiscovered but known bugs in ios every time we're having drinks. From what I hear, internally IOS8/8.1 weren't ready for prime time push just yet. -
When adding a new event, I cannot put the location in. It will not allow me to do that.
How do I get the location area to work when adding a new event? The location area will not allow me to enter information.

When I launch my iCal it keeps "adding a new event" over and over
When I launch my iCal it keeps "adding a new event" over and over and over. It never lets me actually get into the iCal aplication? is there a way I can clear and reset mt iCal calender?

1. Go to iCal > Quit iCal
2. Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.ical
Home > Library > Calendars
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.ical (There may be more than one of these. Remove them all.)
--- NOTE: To get to "Home > Library" in Lion: Click anywhere on the desktop and then click on the "Go" menu at the top of the computer screen while holding down the "option" key on the keyboard. You will see "Library" in the menu.
--- NOTE: Removing these files may remove any shared (CalDAV) calendars you may have access to. You will have to re-add those calendars to iCal > Preferences > Accounts.
3. Launch iCal and test.

Can I Change The "Date Added" Info -- or Other Way To Edit Order of Songs?
I recorded some music from LP. When I import into iTunes the songs come in alpha order.
Even when I go in and "get Info" and add the track numbers the songs won't sort in the same order as off the album. The next time I named the tracks starting with track # for example -- "1 happy birthday" "2 auld lang sine" ... but it still didn't work. Instead I import the songs in the right order one at a time. No big deal but it would be easier to drag a whole folder once rather than a dozen songs one at a time.
Is there a way to edit the date added info? Or some other way to trick iTunes to play the songs in the order I (and the artist) want?

I didn't explain mtself very well.
Often use my whole library and find albums by sorting on dated added. Or play a bunch of albums one after the other as they sit in the library.
When I click on track # I get all the track 1 s then all the track 2 s etc.
Even if I highlight a selection of songs (like a whole album) the tracks sort first
I know I can make a playlist of the album
I just wondered if there is a way to get album tracks in order when they seem to have been created or imported in a different order. -
Endless "adding a new event" popups. Can't stop them
After making the mistake of adding my Gmail account to my Apple Mail, I now can't open Ical. When I do I get a "adding a new event" popup. If I hit "cancel" I get another popup. If I hit "ok" I get an endless cascade of Adding a new Event popups. I have to force quit to get it to stop and it won't allow me to go to preferences.

I would like to recommend that you can remove the account from the System Preferences in Mail, Contacts, and Calendars.
Stop using a web service provider account
Choose Apple Menu > System Preferences, and then click Mail, Contacts & Calendars.
Select the account.
Do one of the following:
To delete all the accounts in applications that use the selected account, click Delete (-).
To stop a specific application from using the account, deselect the application’s checkbox.

Is there a way to stop iCal moving address info from event text into 'location'??
Hi, I've just come back to the forum after a long time away, so sorry if this has already been covered, but...
When I create a new event in iCal and type in text which includes an address, the address segnment is automatically moved into 'location'. I find this infuriating as for work reasons I later need to copy and paste all the event text into another app, and the address is now in a different place! As an additional irritation, iCal also screws with the address text and switches the postal code into upper and lower case, so I have to re-type part of it when I move it back into the main event text. Problems adding info to a JTable

I was figthing all this week with a JTable issue and I haven't more resources to try. I think that it's a complex problem to explain, but I'll try it as well I can.
SCENARIO:
- There is a panel with 2 JTables (sqlServerJTable and oracleJTable) and a button (loadSQLServerCampaignAction).
- Each table has different instances of CampaignTableModel [6 columns].
- Initially,
sqlServerJTable.getModel() --> 0 rows
oracleJTable.getModel() --> 3 rows
- The button's action show a new panel to register a new instance of CampagnaTableInfo. When push accept in this panel, I catch the CampaignTableInfo object and add it to sqlServerJTable.getModel().
Simple?
The problems starts now...
Randomly, we obtain these issues:
1) Data added without execeptions [Desired result]
2) No effect: No data added to sqlServerJTable and no Exceptions
3) Data added with exceptions
4) No data added with exceptions
EXCEPTIONS: With the same CampaignTableInfo object, obtain different index on the exception each time.

Are "Added to Folder" events queued?
I have a Folder into which someone is transfering (FTP) multiple files to me, and I have an AppleScript, which is processing the files.
(As a side note, the Script is properly making sure all the files are properly transferred before the Script proceeds with its processing.)
My problem is that if the Script is running and someone transfers another file into the folder, it looks like another the folder trigger immediately happens, aborting the current script execution and starting a new one.
Is there a way to make sure event triggers that require the same Script actually get queued up so the Script can complete its execution?Thanks so much for getting back to me on this. Actually, I figured it the problem right after I posted the question, and your guess is right on the mark. While testing the queuing, I had added a subroutine which, it turns out, was out of scope. So, yes, the script was actually aborting and thus processing the next queued up interrupt. I had forgotten I had addded the subroutine call and thus concluded the interrupt was aborting the script.
Two side notes for anyone that reads this:
First, I beat the daylights out of testing the queuing up of additional folder-triggered interrupts, and the feature works beautifully.
Second, I have seen several people offer advise on how to have a folder-triggered script make sure files are fully transferred into the folder before proceeding. It boils down to two approaches, both of which are, in my humble opinion, incorrect. One approach involves watching to see if the size of the folder increases, and the other involves watching the size of the file that is about to be processed.
Watching the folder is wrong, because it ignores the scenario of multiple triggers. In that case, the triggered script could begin processing the files associated with the first trigger. Watching the entire folder would unnecessarily hold up the script waiting for files of the next trigger to be fully loaded. So, it works, but it is not optimal.
Watching the file size is dangerous, because multiple files could be being transferred with a single trigger, and the script could potentially start with a file that hasn't actually started its transfer. You therefore need to use a long time interval between tests.
It seems a safer way to do this is to add up the size of all the files in the list of files being transferred to the folder. .... Just a thought. It's working beautifully for me. -

I'm trying to add a doubleClickEvent to an
InlineGraphicElement, so that a popup window appears, and I can
enter a new width and height. I'm having trouble adding a listener
for the doubleClick event to an image that I'm about to add as an
Inline Graphic Element. 1. Before or after I'm inserting the image
with insertInlineGraphic(source,width,height), how can I add a
double click event listener? 2. Once I get a doubleclick mouse
event working, how again can I access the selected or doubleclicked
image so I can modify width and height attributes?

JustinThanks so much for the reply on this. I finally figured out
what you meant. I managed to capture double clicks in the canvas
but the canvas won't register events on inline graphic elements
(they seem to be blocking the canvas), and in addition I can't
access the eventmirror, so I can't add a listener directly to an
inline graphic element. So I'm not quite sure what the best way to
handle this is.

When I am adding an event to my calendar and I go to enter the time it kicks me out of the calendar and sends me back to the main menu. If I accept the posted time I can go back and edit the time and date with no problem. Anyone else have this problem or am I doing something wrong.

Go to Solution.Never mind. I figured out that I was not setting "Home Calendar" at the top of the screen. Do that and everything works fine

Adding YouTube upcoming events to iCal
When I go to add an "Upcoming event" to "iCal" from YouTube, it will add the event to iCal, but the link to the YouTube video will be part of the event title.
Is this a bug, and/or is there a workaround so that the link to the YouTube video gets added to the url property of the iCal event so that I can simply click on the url to bring up the video.

When syncing with Google Calendar invitees added to iCal events wont work
I'm using Spanning Sync to sync my iCal with Google Calendar (which
then syncs with the iPhone app Pocket Informant).
It may be a coincidence, but when I started using Spanning Sync, I
found that when I create a new iCal event and include someone in the
"invitees" field, that person then gets an error message when they attempt
to add the event to their iCal by clicking on the .ics attachment in the notification email ("iCal cant read this calendar file. No
events were added to your iCal Calendar").
When I add one of my own email addresses to the invitees field, the ics attachment works okay for me.
