Adding IP routing address

I am using a PIX ASA5500 network appliance. And I am using the ASDM software to configure it. My question should be simple to answer.
I have an "example" 192.168.0.1/24 255.255.255.0 I am out of IP address and I need to add more I would like to add 192.168.1.1/24 255.255.255.0 and 192.168.2.1/24 255.255.255.0.
Can someone please help with this it has to easy to do I just don't know how and this is my first router I have ever had to setup.

You have basically verified that the issue is NOT with your MBP, but with this particular Wi-Fi network. Even though it may be unsecured, the provider may have elected to configure it for MAC filtering. In this case I am referring to the MAC (Media Access Control) address and not your Mac laptop itself. If this has been enabled, your Mac would only be able to connect if the Mac's MAC address was added to that filter.

  • Can't connect to ISP until ping ISP router address

I recently added a new MacBook (w/latest 10.5 updates) and had a lot of difficulty getting it to connect to our ISP through our AE. So much so that I reset our AE and re-entered all the information, creating a new network name and new network password. The AE is setup to share a specific ISP supplied IP address with a specific ISP provided router IP address and 2 specific ISP provided DNS IP addresses using DHCP and distributing a range of IP addresses for our 3 computers (2 airport connected MacBooks and 1 wired enet connected iMac). I also set it up to bind specific IP addresses to each computers MAC address using the airport MAC addresses for the MacBooks and enet MAC address for the iMac.
Now when I try to connect from the older MacBook or iMac (both of which are running 10.4.11) it may or may not work until I actually ping the ISP router address from a terminal app window. Once I've pinged the ISP router the connections seem to be okay for a while.
If I shut down the computer(s) and come back the next day I have to ping the router again before I can make a connection. I've not yet seen this problem with the new MacBook that's running the latest 10.5.
Any ideas why I need to ping the ISP router from the older (10.4.11) computers before connections can be made?
Have I missed some configuration step in the AE?

Thanks for your respond . I gave it a try and still didn't work . Here the thing I been messing around with the setting just to be sure I enter everything right I could of change a setting that I shouldn't of , now I'm not sure if everything is correct . Where is the guide or steps I can follow to be sure my setting are correct . I'm using cable connection . I know my pop and smtp are correct but I'm not sure as to whether the other areas are . I mean if this or that should be check .

  • Trouble finding router address

I am trying to connect to my Local University network by cable.
i have IP adddress and subnet mask but no router address.
How do I find router address???
Also I have windows system running perfectly on same cable (with all addresses, but i dont know router add. in either case)

I have had a mac mini since 2005, no issues connecting; I have another mac mini from 2008 intel, a 2009 mbp13" a 2009 imac and never had issues with connectivity; I use my mbp at numerous offices and get wifi access all over town with no issues at all; after reading plenty posts I will consider my self lucky.
    I have a wndr3700 and use a/b/g/n;
What i do have issues is with "access list"; I had to reset to factory settings and then only the machines that i registered after the hard reset through mac addresses work; when i tried adding another mbp 13" it renders it useless as it cannot connect, all we get is a "connection time out" message.

  • How do i stop incoming e-mail addresse from being added to my address file

each incoming e-mail adds the address to my file--iwant to stop this--noted in "discussion" that there is an add-on that will add the names--I did not download this add-on and can find ne record of it

when i received your e-mail your address [email protected] was added to my address book--i have not installed any add-ons--so i went into help and uninstalled any add-ons
the add-on for auto add addresses came from your support forum--follows
    "Helpful Reply
To add them manually click on the star to the right of the senders address when viewing the message in the message pane or a tab. If the star is filled with color, the contact is already in your address book. If the star is blank, clicking it will add it. Clicking the star a second time will open the edit dialog box.
This is NOT the same star that is to the left of the message header in the Inbox view.
There are some add ons that will add all incoming addresses to their address book. I cannot imaging why anyone would want to do this, but it is available. You can search the add on list for these applications if that interests you"

On the initial set up for apple tv it just sits there trying to set the date and time . it is a wireless setup and the ipaddress and router address is correct . I can't get by this screen. The setting is on automatic and I have picked a city in my time zone yet it still tries to set a time and date but fails.
    thanks

Make sure router is up to date. Try ethernet to rule out any wifi issues. Reboot ATV and router.

  • Adding a route in solaris

I added a route in solaris by command-->
    route add 10.224.86.10 -netmask 255.255.255.224 10.224.8.10
it gave the prompt--add net 10.224.56.0: gateway 10.224.8.10
I checked the routing table by netstat -r
    10.224.86.10 10.224.8.10 UG 1 0
which shows that it is added
but i am not able to ping it from that server
    ping 10.224.86.10
    gives
    no answer from 10.224.86.10
    What is the reason?
    Thanks

    Hi
You cannot add a route in appliance. You can only setup a default gateway on the appliance.
All the routing decisions should be taken by default gateway of the appliance.

  • Automatically adding contacts to Address Book with Mail?

    Hello all,
This is my first post in the Apple Discussion forum, but I'm a happy Mac owner since July 2007. Here's a question I have; I searched to see if a similar topic appeared in previous discussions, but none turned up.
In Microsoft Outlook (on my work PC), I can set it up so that anytime I reply to an e-mail address from somebody new, the contact is automatically added to my address book. Is there a way to set that up with Mail and/or Address Book?
I was going through Address Book and noticed some VERY old contacts, but I know for some of them, I have more recent e-mail address. I hope I don't have to manually add all of them!
Thanks in advance for your help!
    All the best,
    MARK

Hi Mark, and a warm welcome to the forums!
Sadly, I don't know how to do it for received Mail, but ones you've sent to can be done in Mail. Select Window Menu item>Previous Recipients, press Command-A when the new window appears, and then click Add to Address Book, then in Address Book>Card Menu Item, select look for Duplicates.

  • Router address to make my wireless secure

My wireless has never been secure. I am trying to now make it secure but I can't find the IP address or router address for my Airport Express. I have checked the manual. I have searched the web. Any ideas?

When you say that you are trying to make the wireless secure, are you saying that you need to set up security and a password for the wireless network?
If yes, you need to use the AirPort Utility application for this.
It is already on your Mac, located as follows:
Applications > Utilties > AirPort Utility

Adding New Customer Address to an Existing one
    Hi
We have a lot customers set up in Oracle and they only have a
ship to address and now we would like to add the bill to address

wondering is there is an open interface we can use to that.
    Thank you

    Hi Chandu,
    1.In Infospoke -> General tab -> DataSouce(here infobject - 0BPARTNER).
    2.  Destination tab -> choose radio button(DB Table or Flat file).
    3. Goto tab infoobjects -> select required fields you want to send from left to right.
    4. Give the selection accordingly(here i think PATRNER). But it should be available in your datasouce(Infoobject-0BPARTNER), if you want to give selection on this. I didnt understad what you mean of <b>"hide"</b> in your previous reply. If this is not available in your infoobject(OBPARTNER), How CAN YOU GIVE SELECTION ON THIS attribute...?
    5. Try to add this field in Infoobject(0BPARTNER) and populate.
    6. Trnasformation tab.
Here you can see Source Structure, Target Structure and Addin implementation.
Source Structure - system will generate according to the field you selected in InfoObjects tab(You cant change it).
Target Structure - You can define your own structure if you want or you can modify the generated structure. By default system generates Target Structure same as Source structure(if you want to add any more fields you can add here, but you have to populate those fields with your own coding in BAdi), Which is Addin implementation.

  • Adding a route to a non pingable router

I want to add a route to a network that is routed by a firewall. This firewall can't be ping.
My question is 'How can I add this route ?" because when I try to add the route manually
    route add net 172.19.0.0 255.255.0.0 172.18.60.4 1
    The reply is :
add net 172.19.0.0: gateway 255.255.0.0: Network is unreachable
With the HP-UX server, there is an option in the /dev/ip module that tells the routing to NOT ping a gateway when adding a route but this variable ip_ire_gw_probe doesn't exist on Solaris.
Is there somebody who had an idea ?
    Gilles.

The following should work, just add the -netmask switch.
    route add net 172.19.0.0 -netmask 255.255.0.0 172.18.60.4 1

  • "IP and router address not consistent with subnet mask"

    Hi all,
i have one of the old Powermac G5's running os x 10.3.5 "Panther" with a dual 2.5ghz processor, 512mb or ram, 160 gig hd, and no wireless card. I've been trying to hook the computer up to my network via an Ethernet cable (I have a Linksys WRT54G series router).
the problem is this: When I go through the Network utilities using the "assist me" option, select the LAN option, put in the necessary information (IP address, subnet mask, router address, and the dns host), and select continue, this message pops up:"IP and router address not consistent with subnet mask".
What I've found is that no matter if the computer is plugged in with a cable to the Ethernet port the message comes up which is very unusual.
    Thanks in advance.

Have you verified that you indeed have the proper subnet entered?
Why don't you just let the Mac obtain its ip address from the router via DHCP?

  • Change router address?

Our SMC router died today at work. I replaced it with a new Airport Extreme. Now all the Windows computers here are looking for a specific router address. Rather then change them all, I would like to just change the router address to match that of the previous. Cant seem to figure out how to change the address. I can see the address, but cant make any changes to it. Is this not an option? Or what am I missing here?

My guess would be that the 64.230.197.40 address is the WAN side IP address that you are receiving from your service provider.
The 192.168.1.1 or 10.0.1.1 is the local area network address. Depending on which range you choose, devices connected to the AirPort Extreme will receive IP addresses as follows 192.168.1.2, 192.168.1.3, etc. Or if you are using 10.0.1.1 as the router address, then it would go 10.0.1.2, 10.0.1.3, etc.
I think your devices should be pointed to either 192.168.1.1 or 10.0.1.1.
If you open AirPort Utility and click on your AirPort Extreme, to the right you will see some information about the device. The IP address of the device on your local network will be displayed there. If you haven't changed the DHCP ranges, the IP address will be 10.0.1.1.
