Adding IPCC ICM and CVP servers to CUOM

Hi,
I want to know how can I add ICM and CVP servers to Cisco Unified Operation Managers. I have read the document and as per that we need to enable and configure SNMP service on servers. But I am unable to start SNMP service on one of ICM server i.e. AW. The below mentioned message is appearing on start of SNMP service. Please advise the best way to add all IPCC servers to CUOM and to get the best possible results from CUOM.

If you look at your Services on your UCCE server you should see the service Cisco Contact Center SNMP Management.

If you look at your Services on your UCCE server you should see the service Cisco Contact Center SNMP Management.

Any idea on approximate upgrade for CM, unity, ICM and CVP

Looking for some basic numbers. CM 4.x to current, IPCC 7.0 to current CVP 2 version back.
Is this some thing doable by inhouse staff? any upgrade documents or its not really recomended?
Any vendors in midwest you can recommend?

I've never really been involved 100% in an upgrade project, we have a team dedicated for that in my company. However, I think it's usually 4-6 weeks, depending on the scope. The main thing to take into account is, #1 licensing, ensure you have all the proper licensing ASAP. #2 hardware, for example, CVP has greatly improved their port density in later versions which allows you the opportunity to remove some servers from the solution. #3 upgrade process, you can do a concurrent upgrade, where you're running two version at one point and can only upgrade one piece at a time, this process usually takes longer, but provides virtually no down time. eLoyalty (my employer) has a pretty big presence in the Midwest in case you're interested.

ICM with CVP, failed to find networktrunkgroup for trunkgroupid 200

Hi All,
i am trying to build ICM with CVP. i have ICM and CVP on seperate box. all pims are active everything seems to be normal at my end but for some reason call is not working.
when i dial the number on the vrupim i am getting a messge:
Trace: VRUPeripheral::RequestInstruction: Failed to find NetworkTrunkGroup for TrunkGroupID 200
and on my router i am getting the message:
**** CVP HANDOFF.TCL: AFD9EF57.89D711E0.804C80F9.53B25ADC abnormally disconnected with code 38.
please advise how to fix it.

Any failure of the bootstrap VoiceXML Server fetches to Call Server causes the SIP IVR Service
leg of call to be terminated by the recovery handoff TCL scripts on VoiceXML Server Gateway
with a Q850 code of 38.

If the Unified CVP loses network connectivity, the VoiceXML Server Gateway is not able to
get information from the IVR Service, and as a result a code 38 rejection is generated in the
Gateway logs.
remove the following lines from the network interface config in IOS:

UDP port 161 on IPCC/ICM servers

I am trying to setup Solarwinds monitoring via SNMP on our IPCC/ICM servers. The servers are AW, PGs and Router/Loggers.
Do the IPCC/ICM applications use UDP port 161? I cannot start the SNMP service on the servers due to UDP port 161 is already being used.
According to Windows task manager, the port is used by PID snmpdm.exe.
Any info or comment is appreciated. Thanks.

Yes it's not the same. Why, I do not know.
On ICM Windows boxes you use the MMC snapin, but on CVP you use the Ops Console which writes into cfg files and pushes them to the box.
At the end of the day the basics of community name, access list, trap destination are known by the agent on the ICM or CVP server.

IPCC and CVP in VMWare, same as Call Manager

Hi All;
As I know that new version of Cisco Call Manager (version 8) is working based on VMWare (and it is must), so I am asking if there is a versions for IPCC and CVP working on VMWare (this for production and not for LAB).

UCCE 8 on VMware 4.0 on the Cisco UCS hardware only.
But in a lab environment, many (most) of us are using VMware in some shape or form.
I have 5 x HP DL380G5 2 CPU servers each with 6GB in a rack running ESX 3.5, with a smaller server for the Virtual Center software. Each ESX host can support 7 virtual machines - DC, Rogger, AW/HDS, PG, CVP7, CUCM and CUPS. You do need a lot of disc space though - especially CUPS (80GB) and CUCM (40GB). And you need a lot of extra space for snapshots.

CVP servers and VXML Servers clustering

Hi ;
Can I install the CVP servers and the VXML Servers as cluster (so any change at one of the server will be existed in the others without need to repeat the work)?
To distribute the load on these servers (the CVP Server and the VXML Server), should I use load balancer or any other suggested method?

You can't have CVP in cluster for centralized configuration. You need to configure each of them seperately.
For the load ballancing,
For Call Signalling, you can use Gatekeeper if you use H323. And you can use SIP Proxy Server like CUPS or CUSP for load balancing.
Since VXML server uses HTTP, you can CSS to do the load balancing.

Creating Weblogic domain with Admin Server and managed servers on different

I am trying to create Weblogic domain where Admin Server and managed servers on different machines. However I am unable to find any steps which would allow me to do so. The config.sh script always creates an Admin Server. Please help.

Whilst the method that Lawrence gives can result in a domain that is perfectly functional, it is a method that can result in errors as you are having to enter the same information twice. Also you will create two admin servers, as the second domain creation will have the console added to it on the renamed admin server and this will give issues.
The best method to create a domain spamming multiple physical machines, is to create the domain with all the components on the first machine. This means planning the domain and making sure all components are added once; so having the information about the domain written out is wise. Ensure that the WLS software is installed in the same path on each machine before starting.
Then copy the domain that you have created from one machine to the other, keeping the same paths. You can simply copy (I've used this method multiple times without issue) but the supported way would be to use the WLST PACK and UNPACK methods. These create and extract domains from templates. Script help - IPCC 7.5 CVP 7.0

I have been trying to find a script that will work with CVP 7.0 and IPCC 7.5 allowing us to mimic a setup we have with IPCCX. I have offices that want to be able to do the following:
1. Dial a number and get a prompt to record a new closed message
2. Once recorded, press a number on the phone to activate the message and tell the TOD service to close the office.
or
1. Dial a number to record a new message to overwrite existing
2. Once recorded press a number to active the new message and over write the existing.
We had a simple script with IPCCX IVR, but no one seems to know how to accomplish this with IPCC and CVP. Any help or examples would be appreciated.

You can do this with the Recording Element in CVP VXML (Audium). It's quite easy to use.
You do need to deal with a couple of related issues:
1. You need to get the recording from where CVP VXML puts it to your Media Stores (assuming you have two). There is an FTP version, but it only allows one target. I wrote a custom element to FTP a file to a target, and simply use it twice.
2. The lifetime on the Web server (Media Store) must be short enough to enable a newly deployed message to be played back - need to overcome the HTTP client cache on the gateway. Just have a special folder and adjust the Expiration in IIS. Your FTP server must be able to drop the file there. Sometimes permissions can be tricky.
3. Once you have the recording in place, the next bit is easy. The DTMF entry can set a global variable. All of your entry scripts will check that variable to see what to do.
4. Normally you attach a PIN to this IVR service and check the PIN before allowing operations.

Novell update and registration servers

bit of an odd one i've run into
client has moved from an onsite proxy server to a cloud based one (zscaler). Due to the authentication mechanism now being browser based and not the traditional popup prompt type, we cannot use the proxy to get to the Novell update and registration servers
Windows update and activation servers are added to an exception list to not require authentication at the proxy level so they will work
So the question I have is, what are the addresses that I need to add to the zscaler proxy to make novell server activation and updates work properly, as I can't seem to find a list of server addresses anywhere on the Novell website, only a list for sles 9 which is not of much use now since we are using a mix of OES2 and OES11 servers
Can someone help me out here or point me in the direction of where to look for the details about the servers, the only one I know of is nu.novell.com but i'm betting there is more than just that one

Do Verizon's POP3 and SMTP servers support SSL?

The Mail account setup wizard on Mac OS X 10.6.2 successfully added my new verizon.net email account in a couple of easy steps. During the process, the wizard warned me that my password would be sent in the clear; I told it to continue.
After successfully sending and receiving test messages, I tried enabling SSL for the incoming and outgoing servers. At that point, both sending and receiving failed.
I read the minimalist Support description about email app setup -- no mention of ports or SSL.
Is SSL possible on Verizon's servers?

Move and redeploy application- and web-servers for Planing?

Have Hyperion Planing ability to move application- and web-servers from unix-machine to another win-machine and after redeploy existing unix-installed planing on it?

They are actually for for 2 different things. The Sun WAS is for enterprise applications, EJBs and the like.
Tomcat is for simpler Servlet/JSP hosting.
The Sun WAS actually uses the Tomcat server as its Servlet/JSP engine then adds EJBs on top.

How to use the same services-config for the local and remote servers.

My flex project works fine using the below but when I upload my flash file to the server I doesn't work, all the relative paths and files are the same execpt the remote one is a linux server.

I think the problem is the line

In Flex, there is feature that lets developer to put all service-config.xml file configuration information into swf file. with
-services=path/to/services-config.xml
IF
services-config.xml
have tokens in it and user have not specified additional
-context-root
and this swf file is not served from web-app-server (like tomcat for example) than it will not work,
Flash player have no possible way to replace token values of service-config.xml file durring runtime if that service-config.xml file have been baked into swf file during compilation,
for example during development you can launch your swf file from your browser with file// protocol and still be able to access blazeDS services if
-services=path/to/services-config.xml
have been specified durring compilation.
I dont know any better way to exmplain this, but in summary there is two places that you can tell swf about service confogiration,
1) pass -services=path/to/services-config.xml parameter to compiler this way you tell swf file up front about all that good stuff,
or 2) you put that file on the webserver( in this case, yes you should have replacement tokens in that file) and they will be repaced at runtime .

How are the images stored on your original iPad? Are they in the camera roll, in events downloaded using the camera connection kit, or are they in albums synced to your ipad from a computer?
If the photos are in the camera roll or in events downloaded from a camera, you can transfer them to your iMac and MBA by directly connecting the iPad using USB. Then you can download the photos to iPhoto like from a camera.
Only, if your photos have been synced to the iPad from a computer, you will have to save them first to the camera roll; then you can download them by connecting the iPad via USB.
What IOS version has your iPad?
For new photos you might consider using Photo Stream to transfer your photos between the devices.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
