Adding item to custom multifield
I've created a custom multifield (by registering a new xtype in the clientlibs folder) and everything appears great when I first open the edit dialog. However, when I click the 'Add Item +' link, the new set of fields appears correctly, BUT the container is getting set to fill the entire width of the dialog. As a result, the up/down ordering buttons get pushed out of view. The first item's width is fine, but each subsequent item that's added ignores the width and fills the entire dialog.
Has anyone come across a similar issue? How else can I control the width of the custom multifield? I know creating custom multifields can get tricky, but I've kept it relatively simple (a textfield, radio, and richtext). I'm sure more information is need, if so, I'll be more than happy to provide.

I have tried to overcome from this issue through widget customization but unfortunately i was not able to achieve it completely, but i can share what you can do to get some relax.
1. As you have added 2 extra fields it means now you will have "6" fields in one item set, to adjust it so that all will come in one row everytime you have to set this total count value "6" in widget.
- If you are using cq5.5 then in multifield widget js file search for "config = CQ.Util.applyDefaults" (inside CQ.form.MultiField.Item) under this configuration you will find a property "columns" set this value to "6"
- If you are using cq5.4 then same you have to by searching defualt config property inside (CQ.form.MultiField.Item)
2. Now to adjust the window size so that your fields doesn't move out of view, you have to set the width of panel (instead auto) which contains this multifield and also set the width of your multifield (instead auto)
- To do that just set two properties accordingly "boxMinWidth" and "boxMaxWidth" (in pixel)

Adding items to custom list - performance issues - Request timed out error
Hi,
I am using VS 2010, c#.
I am inserting records from an excel file, which contains 6000 records to a custom list.
I am using the Visual webpart, and oledb connection. I am not using the openXML format, as i need to use "xls" and "xlsx" type.
I am doing the below steps currently:
1) From the file upload control, i am saving the excel to the sharepoint layouts - inside that a custom folder, to keep the records.
2) Using the oledb connection to read the records and fill it in a datatable.
3) Inserting the datatable values to a custom list.
Looping through the datatable and inserting 3000 – 4000 records to List, I am getting the "Request timeout error".
Below is the sample code, where i am looping the datatable and inserting the record:

I am using the "using block" for the spsite and web objects. When I see the execution time out in my web.config it is set to 3600. But I am getting the request time out after 2 mins only.

If the list has custom columns which consists of string and Date types, can the same type be used? Or should the list be an empty list without any columns?
In the xml if it is put as "onerror= continue", how to fetch the records which error out?
Also, in the datatable code block, which I had put in the first post, I am also trying as below:

If you want SPL GL in FBCJ then write a Substitution .

2. Prerequisite - Transaction code = 'FBCJ'

You CANNOT clear parked items.
You can clear the posted items using F.13 or F-32

As per my understanding, after you add Item field to the report, it does not calculate total of matl group, right? If that is the case, please refer to the following steps to troubleshoot the problem:
Modify the dataset used to retrieve data, delete the fields will not be used in the report.
Run the query in SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) to make sure that there is data for matl cost group.
Make sure that row group and totals are correctly added.
In addition, do you want to add Finished date to page header? If that is the case, we can use ReportItem to achieve the goal. Please refer to the following steps:
In design surface, right-click the report and click Insert, then click Page Header.
Drag Text Box from Toolbox to page header.
Right-click inside of Text Box, then click Expression.
In the expression text box, type the code like below:
=ReportItems!FinishedDate.Value
If the problem remain unresolved, please provide the screenshot of the report in design view, the following screenshot is for your reference:

For GL line item display, Customer line item display and Vendor line item display you can use transactions codes FBL3N, FBL5N and FBL1N respectively. After the report is executed, you can click on layout icon and add the required fields.
User name is there in the layout and you can add it in your layout and save it.

Commision based on item group & customer group
Dear all,
Does anyone have an idea about how to get commission based on item group & customer group sales?
My customer wanted commission report based on item group or customer group & based on payment collection dated.
Example
Term given for customer A is 30 days.
12/3/09 Inv 1000 RM 10,000 30 days payment
20/4/09 Inv 2000 RM 5,000 60 days payment
The term given is 30 days of the invoice month.
Salesman will get commission if get the collection at May'09 for Inv 1000, & July'09 for iinv 2000 based on the invoice date month.
The salesman get commission at any date of the month May'09. More longer collection, less commission they will get.
Example:
Salesman A
Customer Group 1st of the month, 2nd of the month, 3rd of the month, 4th of the month
Normal Dealer 1.5% , 0.75%, 0.00% , -0.25%
Sub Distributor 0.5% , 0.25%, 0.00% , - 0.25%

SAP does not calculate commissions, but merely provide a mechanism to report on it. The multi level calculation you require can be achived with a custom query linked to a report layout. Standard SAP will not provide this type of calculation. You will need to look at the open transactions such as invoices and link to the relevant payment transaction to get the payment date. Then compare this date to the invoice due date to determine if the terms were adhered to or not. If not payment date - due date in number of days will be needed to calculate the effective commission percentage.

Pre-populating a date/time column with the value entered in the last added item
I have a list with a column called "expected finish date". Whenever the user adds the very first item in a list, he/she should have to enter a value for this column.
I want to make all new item entries to pre-poplate this field with the value entered in the previously added item. This way, he/she wont have to re-enter the date every time (which rarely changes). How can this be done?could create a second list ("state") with column ("default finish date")...
create a workflow on main list... if column is blank/empty, pull from second list... otherwise, update second list with the value that was entered.
Or, customize the form (InfoPath or JavaScript)

It works fine if the product_attr_value = item_id, but having a very basic knowledge of SQL I don't know how to map the item_id if the product_attr_value = 'ALL' (modifier applied to all items). Could someone please shed a light.

I tried passing it as null value and replacing it with inventory_item_id. it works so far but taking very long to complete.

I was adding items with the intent of command z 'ing them back to their original when it crashed, autosaved, and my original numbers were lost to the temp numbers plugged in... how can i get back to the previous version? Because it had closed, command z
