Adding Items to Portal 9.0.2

Hi all,
I have to add custom items to an Portal 9.0.2 windows NT/2000 instance, but I just read that the wwsbr_api.add_item function into the lateste PDK version is DEPRECATED.
The hability to add a item to a Page Group programatically is mandatory to my project, otherwise, it will cause the projetct to be aborted..
The project is to build an intranet and Internet Portal, integrated, to a Brazil's governement institute.
"Huge Project".
Does anybody knows something I could do ?

Carl,
I think you should be able to deploy the OmniPortlet & Web Clipping portlets on your Portal installation. I don't think you should have to upgrade to Portal 9.0.2.6 if you are just concerned with these two portlets.
So take the portalTools.ear from inside the pdk-july as this would be the latest release of these two portlets.

As per my understanding, after you add Item field to the report, it does not calculate total of matl group, right? If that is the case, please refer to the following steps to troubleshoot the problem:
Modify the dataset used to retrieve data, delete the fields will not be used in the report.
Run the query in SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) to make sure that there is data for matl cost group.
Make sure that row group and totals are correctly added.
In addition, do you want to add Finished date to page header? If that is the case, we can use ReportItem to achieve the goal. Please refer to the following steps:
In design surface, right-click the report and click Insert, then click Page Header.
Drag Text Box from Toolbox to page header.
Right-click inside of Text Box, then click Expression.
In the expression text box, type the code like below:
=ReportItems!FinishedDate.Value
If the problem remain unresolved, please provide the screenshot of the report in design view, the following screenshot is for your reference:

Anybody could provide the solution or rootCause to this issue(I know this error is throwing by pricing pipe line but why its throwing I am not getting) Please any body tell me ASAP, I am gated with this issue.

I don't know much about promotions, But it looks like that there is some problem while applying some promotions for the added item.

Pre-populating a date/time column with the value entered in the last added item

I have a list with a column called "expected finish date". Whenever the user adds the very first item in a list, he/she should have to enter a value for this column.
I want to make all new item entries to pre-poplate this field with the value entered in the previously added item. This way, he/she wont have to re-enter the date every time (which rarely changes). How can this be done?

could create a second list ("state") with column ("default finish date")...
create a workflow on main list... if column is blank/empty, pull from second list... otherwise, update second list with the value that was entered.
Or, customize the form (InfoPath or JavaScript)

Import/ export of an object or item in portal 10g

Good Morning!

can anyone tell what is the format of import / export of an object or item in portal 10g?
 this is in the context of updating or rolling into production server an item whose earlier version might be sitting in the production server before. and it is based on the premise that the environment/ system is composed of more than one servers and production is only one of them.
 apologies ... if i am not even phrasing the question right. by format, what i mean to know is does it first delete the older component and then generate the new one or it renegades and keeps the older version and bring on the newer version, or what.

any hints will be appreciated.

Error creating text item in portal

Hello forum, I am having an error creating a text item in portal. I'd like the item to be displayed directly on the page. However, the item is greater than 32K. This is the error in the log file: portal: [module=RepositoryServlet, ecid=83707100943,1] ERROR: Repository Gateway error: Request Processing Error: Value param too long. Length is 189640. Upper limit is 32512
Does anybody know of a work around this issue?

There's not a workaround, per se, for this. The 32K is a hard and fast (and very annoying) limit. Depending on the item and display you'd like to use, you could put it in a dynamic page and display it as a portlet, or split it up into different items.

Firefox doesn't print some pages well, but if you have this problem on all pages, there may be some problem with Firefox's ability to work with your printer driver. If it's only particular pages, can you post the URLs for an assessment?
I'm not clear on what happened with Cut, Copy & Paste: you moved them from the menu drop-down to the toolbar and then they disappeared?
If you return to Customize mode, try clicking Restore Defaults and see whether things return to normal.
When you say "toolbar background" do you mean a theme you were using in an earlier version of Firefox? Otherwise, there's not much to see.
If Firefox is becoming transparent or showing some desktop or showing other display glitches it may be incompatible with your graphics card drivers. The standard workaround for that is to disable Firefox's use of hardware acceleration for graphics.
3-bar menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the "General" mini-tab, uncheck the box for "Use hardware acceleration when available"
This will take effect the next time you exit out of Firefox and restart it.

Personalization: Adding Items in the Review Page

Hi,
I have successfully added items in the previous page (Employment Type) before the review page. I was able to submit it and see the changes in APPS.
Right now, whenever I reach the review page and I did some changes with my newly added items, these items are, naturally, not displayed in the Review Page. I thought it will be as simple as creating items in the Review Page (thru Personalization, of course) but I couldn't add the current and proposed value. Couldn't even display the static texts properly in the Review Page.
So how can I add items in the Review Page?? I tried using the same view attribute and view instance but it didn't give me any value.
I'm still new with OAF personalization so any recommendations on books to read are welcome.

New Price Updates for newly added Items Through VA02

Through VA02 ,If you change first date in line item we have written code in MV45AFZB(USEREXIT_NEW_PRICING_VBKD
) for updating price for that item.
Now the issue is if u add one more new line item through VA02 itself..here we were not getting that line item detials.because its not yet saved.
We want to update prices for newly added items also.
