Adding iTunes Store media to a "wish list"

Is there a way to add movies, music or TV shows to a "wish list" in iTunes? If there isn't - there really should be. Sometimes I like to browse through new content during my lunch break, or I'll see a Song or a Movie that I know I want, just not yet. There should be a way to bookmark content for future downloads.

Create a new playlist and add songs to it from the store.

  • It seems that both users and iTunes would benefit via a wish list capability;  thoughts?

It would-be great if the iTunes store had a wish list functionality;  a way to track future purchases

To add a song to your wish list, click the down arrow on the Buy button and choose "Add To Wish List."
To open up your Wish List (and buy something if you wish) go to the home page of iTunes Store and click 'My Wish List" at the upper right.

  • Why isn't my iTunes store loading properly? It lists everything in text without images, and I can't seem to access the store when I try to search for music or movies etc.

    1) The best way to relocate the iTunes library folder is to move the entire iTunes folder with all subfolders to the new path, then press and hold down shift as start iTunes and keep holding until prompted to choose a library, then browse to the relocated folder and open the file iTunes Library.itl inside it.
If you've done something different then provide some more details about what is where and I should be able to help.
    2) Purchases on the device should automatically transfer to a Purchased on <DeviceName> playlist, but it my depend a bit on whether automatic iCloud downloads are enabled. If there is a cloudy link then the transfer might not happen. You can use File > Devices > Transfer Purchases. In iTunes you should also check out iTunes Store > Quick Links > Purchased > Music > Not on this computer.
    3) Backup the device, then immediately restore it. In some cases you need to add a restore as new device into that equation. Obbviously not to be attempted until you're sure all your media is in your library. See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device should it be needed.
    4) I believe there is complimentary 1 incident 90-day support with hardware purchases, but no free software support for iTunes itself. AppleCare gets you a different level of support.

  • ITunes 9-- No "Shopping Cart",  "Wish List"  a poor substitute!

I miss greatly the easy functionality of the iTunes8 "Shopping Cart".
iT9's "Wish List" lacks SC's functionality and ease of use.
Has anyone who valued the iT8 Shopping Cart's functionality found a way to approach it in iT9?
I haven't and really miss it-- but maybe I just haven't figured WL out yet?
There seem to be two ways to populate your Wish List:
    1. use the drop down menu beside the "Buy" button in iTunes Store, or
    2. drag your song to your own Wish List album (i.e. an album you create with that name).
#1 method I have found to be incredibly frustrating:
    a. It took my a long time to figure out how to access that WL (iT Help was silent about this).
Answer: from iTunes Store's home screen, hold mouse over your user name in upper right hand corner of home screen and an arrow for a drop-down list appears including Wish List. The resulting list had my new songs in it and a bunch that seemed to have come from iT8 (I maintained a "Shopping List album to back up my SL because periodically it became inaccessible and I had trouble getting Apple to reset it for me) but it is really unpleasant to use, especially if you have a lot of songs there. If you are trying to access the most recent songs added, it is especially cumbersome-- it's divided up into pages and the song list sub-window, within the main window, goes off the bottom of my iMac 24" screen. Therefoer, you have to scroll down to get to the song list sub-window and then scroll again within that sub-window because the song list's page isn't fully shown and you have to scroll down within it to even see all songs on that one page. Then, Worse yet, the song list is into multiple pages, each of which requires a click to see content. You cannot get an overview within your own WL. Even more frustrating, every time you buy a song, this awkward display reverts to the first line of the first page which causes you to have to go thru this whole process all over again. Ugh.
#2. The 2nd method of making your own Wish List album is better, but still requires you to deal with the awful scrolling window within a scrolling window. I can't get any large overview of the various arrangements of a song that I am searching for. iT9's approach makes me feel awkward and blind compared to iT8. To populate your WL album, you must individually drag each song into a relatively small album accurately and one at a time. This is a pain vs. just double clicking on it in iT8 to add it to my SC. Once you've got the songs you want in your WL, you can see and sort them much like you could in the old SC. So the real problem I'm encountering here is the basic way that iT9 is designed to display music search results-- what I call scrolling windows within scrolling windows. I tried using the view menu to make it the kind of sweeping view that iT8 offered, but nothing seemed to improve the view.
Has anyone else found a work-around to recover the functionality lost in replacing SC's with WL's? Any user tips would be greatly appreciated! I used to really enjoy perusing iT8 and comparing varying artists/arrangements of the same song and this has become really unpleasant in iT9. I love iOS4 for my iPhone 3G though and had to update to iT9 for that. Too bad there's such a trade-off required!

This was discussed ad nauseum when iTunes 9 first came out months ago. If you search the discussions (using the Search Discussions box above and to the right), you'll probably find some of the myriad threads on the subject.
    Best of luck.

  • The App Store really needs a Wish List component

I love the App Store and the thousands of offerings, but with so much to browse, it would be helpful to have a Wish List component so that I could "park" things for later study. After viewing many, many apps, I sometimes fortget just where I saw a particular one. I'm not always ready to buy on the spot. A WL would solve that problem.

I totally agree, I'm a DJ, and buy a lot of music, so I need to be sure that I really want that music. A want list would make it so much easier. A friend of mine don't use iTunes store because they don't have one.
I also think that they should have 1 minute samples instead of 30 seconds.

  • I have an iPad mini, 16GB, running on the 7.1.2 iOS system, my App Store icon is no longer on my home screen and neither is my iTunes Store icon. They are listed in my settings but I can't access any unless through other games, or songs on iPad.

I Have an iPad mini operating on 7.1.2 iOS. My App Store icon as well as my iTunes Store icon are missing from my home scree. They are still listed under my settings, but I can't access them unless it's through an app that already exists. Where can I go to reinstall these?  I use the same Apple ID on my iPhone 5c as well and they are on the iPhone, but I don't know how or why they just disappeared from my iPad and want to know how to get them back without having to reset my iPad and lose what I have on it. Thanks, Karla

Thanks so much! My grandaughters played games on the iPad over Xmas and one of their moms said shed restricted their access! Guess they forgot to enable again. Thank you again! Karla

  • HT1368 How do I add tracks from my iTunes Radio history to my wish list?

The question speaks for itself. Thx

    Hello Greg,
Glad to hear you are enjoying the songs on iTunes Radio.  You can add songs to your iTunes Wishlist a couple of ways.
If you are currently listening to the song, you can click on the ">" icon to the right of the song name to add it to your iTunes Wishlist:
Alternatively, if it is a song that has already played on a station you created, you can expand the station by clicking on the icon for the station, and you will see your play history to the right of "Play more like this."  Right click (or hold control while you click) on the price of the song in the History list to add it to your iTunes Wishlist:
You can find more information about iTunes Radio here:

  • Adding itunes store track to ipod app

I bought MOZART VIOLIN CONVERTOS BATH ORCHESTRA album on i-tunes. It seemed like downloading all the tracks but when I check on my ipod app it only adds one of the tracks. I thought it may have been a problem of my i-phone but when I tried to download the tracks with my i-pad i had the sane problem.

I would make a playlist i itunes on the computer
and add all the songs and set it to sync the playlist to the iphone & ipad
