Adding Keywords to Faces ?

Hi:
Is there a way that I can add a keyword to a group of pics that I have already confirmed?
Let's say Faces recognizes 3500 pictures of Jessica. Is there a way that I can select all of this and add the the Keyword "Jessica"?
Maybe an external plug-in or something?
Thanks.

Thanks Larry.
That's exactly the problem. iPhoto won't let you Select All in Faces view. Maybe they'll fix this in the next version. Just send a suggestion vía Feedback.
Terrence's Smart Folders solution is a quick, easy and very useful work around.

I would like to see the added keywords under the picture like iPhoto does it. Is that possible? I cannot find an answer in Aperture 3.2.1

Hello Wontolla, I meant the Aperture main menu, there is a sub menu "View", see the Screenshot:
Set all flags in the Metadata Display submenu as I did,  to show Metadata in Viewer and Browser, and then select "Customize"
Pick the Metadata fields you want to display for all views.
Make sure, that "Contents -> Keywords" is checked.

  • Adding keywords to .ai in Bridge CS4

    Hello,
I'm currently working on adding keywords on our images and I noticed some .ai files accept to be added keywords while some don't.
Some files respond with the message that this file cannot store XMP metadata. Is it a matter of having an Illustrator file in a specific version or more?
    Thank you!
    Émilie

First check if you have used files that have been shot with different
lenses. A category in the filter panel only appears if there are two or more
different criteria present, otherwise there would not be any need to filter
Second, the lens has to be capable to interact with the EXIF data in the
camera, most of them do but not all. If a lens can't communicate with this
EXIF data the data will not be present in the metadata that comes with your
file and therefore not be seen by Bridge.
Last, check also the fly out menu top right of the filter panel, put your
mouse on it and you will see the list of filter categories appear. Those
with a checkmark in front are visible, those without are not.
How do I get the lens catagory to appear?

  • Adding keywords to MANY pictures with Bridge CS3?

    Hi there,
I am adding keywords to over 10,000 pictures using Bridge CS3.
I'm copying the keywords from their respective sites and pasting them into the metadata fields in Bridge. (Also adding others if they are not included.) I'm also changing them to all lowercase in InDesign so they are not repeated/duplicated. (i.e. "People" and "people".)
There are many folders and sub-folders but they are all under one main folder.
    Two questions:
    1) Anyone know of a easier way to do this?
    2) Is there a way to make the ("People" and "people") problem go away?
    Mac OS X 10.5.5 Bridge CS3 2.1.1.9
    Thanks.

    Thanks again Jim
This was not the answer I wanted to hear. So I contacted Adobe directly- They are very quick- they responded within 24 hours via email of course and reiterated what you said- I guess I just needed "official" word from Adobe, before I went to plan B
Anyways If anyone ever has problems like this where you got a bunch of .m1v files and you need to tag them with metadata- I suggest to do what I am doing and download tmpegenc it is a great little piece of software that will convert your .m1v files to .mpg files that you can now tag within bridge, Beauty
I will NEVER export to .m1v AGAIN
    Thanks TMPEG
    Thanks Jim and Thanks Adobe
    Best Wishes

  • Adding keywords in Bridge, causes illegal operand i.e. corrupts the illustrator files.

Upon adding keywords to a large amount of illustrator files in Bridge (mainly .eps but also some .ai), more than half of the files are now corrupt, giving me the following message:
    Can’t open the illustration. The illustration contains an illegal operand. Offending operator: {eps_metadata_stream}
    Context: ‘5
It should be noted that ALL of these files were 100% okay prior to adding some keywords in Bridge.
Does anyone have an idea how to repair corrupt files, and whether this is a known bug?
    setup:
I haven’t yet had the time to update to CC2014, and am still using the previous CreativeCloud setup running OSX 10.8.5.

We just started using Bridge and I am on OS 10.9.5 and using Creative Cloud and we are running into the same situation. I load the images into the Bridge and have no issue with Photoshop files, but the Illustrator .eps files get corrupt when I add in keywords to Bridge for them. Haven't been able to find a solution to fix this so currently I'm just not adding in keywords which makes it difficult for our designers to search for these files to use on their projects.

  • Adding keywords to a topic causes search to return file names instead of topic titles

When I search for a term in my WebHelp Pro project, the topics returned are shown by file name if the topic has anything in its Properties > General > Keywords field and are shown by topic title if there are no keywords defined for the topic.
I've confirmed this behavior by adding and removing keywords from topics and watching them alternate between being shown in searches by file name or by topic title.
Obviously, I want topics to be displayed by topic titles in search results no matter if they have keywords assigned or not.
Any idea what would be causing this? Is this a known bug?
Here's some additional information. For this problem to occur, these four conditions must be true:
The topic must have manually added keyword(s) in the Properties > General > Keywords field.
The topic title and the file name must be different.
One must be searching for one of the keyword(s) added in step 1.
Occurs in WebHelp Pro when published to a remote server.
Talks with Adobe today are inconclusive but it appears that this was an unknown bug. Maybe I'll get a free t-shirt or something.

    Hi Rocky,
Log on to the Robohelp Configuration Manager
Uncheck the option "reindex documents at server".
Republish and check. If issue exists try restarting the Apache/Tomcat Server.
    That should work for you.

  • Adding Keywords To Files?

    Hi,
I've just discovered you can add Keywords to images in Preview. What I'd like to know is, when you go to File > Save, is it changing any of the image data, or is it adding the Keywords on to the file?
Is there a way of adding Keywords to files in Finder? I'd like to be able to add Keywords without having to re-save the file.

I don't know anything about iPhoto, but it sounds like you are talking about IPTC keywords. If so, those are stored inside the file. Maybe someone else knows more about iPhoto's behavior with IPTC. I know that GraphicConverter lets you change IPTC data without resaving the entire image. In other words, it just replaced the data without opening the image.
You can add keywords (Finder Comments) in Finder but they are not IPTC keywords. IPTC clings to the file even on other operating systems, because the data is inside the file. You can add Spotlight keywords in Finder but they will not follow the file to a non-OSX machine. You do this in Finder's "Infowindow" (highlight the file then press applekey-i).

  • Adding keywords to Iphoto and Finder file

I am scanning photos and adding keywords to photos in Iphoto. The original file is in Finder. Is there a way to add keywords to both the photo in Iphoto and the File in the Finder at the same time.
The Finder files are backup in case Iphoto crashes or I do something stupid and loss my photos.
    Thanks

I am not sure what you mean by a referenced library.
a referenced library (the advanced option "copy imported items to the iPhoto library") has been unchecked?
Preferences/ Advanced/ Copy items to the Iphoto library ( the box has a check mark)
You then have a managed library so your photos are all copied into the iPhoto library. While there is no problem in keeping an extra copy of your original photos outside of iPhoto as long as it is on the same disk as the iPhoto library it is not a backup - any disk or computer failure will affect both equally - to have a backup it must be on different physical media

  • Adding keywords to eps, ai, pdf & jpeg

Hi I'm new to bridge and I'm also new to keywords/tagging so I need little help.
I'm trying to tag files with keywords then upload them to a service called fluxiom (which is like an online portfolio). Fluxiom allows you to search your files by keywords. Now I've added keywords to jpgs and tifs with success but when I try other files like pdfs, ai, eps, etc my keywords are not "sticking" - any ideas? I've also tested it locally by searching my files with Spotlight which is giving me the same results - tif, jpg are okay but not the others.
    help please.

I tried restarting with the option key and reset everything but I'm still not having success. I've attached a pdf that shows the results I'm getting. The tif and the jpeg worked fine, the pdf half worked and the ai and eps (which I saved a variety of ways using different previews) didn't work on any of them.
As I mentioned I'm running CS3 on all these apps in Leopard 10.5.5.
Another related question to help me get a better understanding of Bridge and tagging shouldn't I be able to search on my mac either using the finder (command + F) or spotlight for these embedded keywords? Isn't tagging the files to have the ability to search for them either on the web or on my computer the main reason for tagging. I ask because after I added these keywords/descriptions and searched for the files the only three I found where the tif, jpg & pdf - again confirming the issue I'm having.
sorry if I'm asking a dumb question.

  • Organizer 9 often gets error adding keyword

I spent more than a week evaluating Organizer 9 for my use by playing with a test catalog with several raw photos from various cameras I have.  I tried everything I could think of and posted here a few times asking questions.  Everything seemed to be working well.   I also saw posts saying some people had 100k photos in Organizer.  All looked good.  I wanted to be fairly confident before importing my 50k out-of-camera original photos and then spending a lot of time on adding keywords and star ratings since I didn't want to waste all that time and work if Organizer would not be a good fit for what I want or didn't work well.  All signals were go.
A few days ago I got started on the real catalog.  I turned off all the analyze stuff since I don't need it and it was likely to just slow the computer down.  I imported about 50k photos.  I then started adding keywords.  I first made a pass through all photos and assigned a keyword for each photo that had the country or U.S. state where the photo was taken.  No problems.
I then started another pass through all the photos adding one or two more keywords to some of the photos.  I have been having problems with this though.  I often, but not always, get a pop-up window with a message from Organizer saying it got an error adding a keyword to a photo.  I click Okay and then Organizer hangs for several seconds and down at the bottom left of the screen it says Searching.  Finally Organizer comes back, but now the thumbnail view doesn't show all the photos -- it shows only a subset.  I then click Show all and then spend a lot of time scrolling into the 50k photos and looking for where I left off before the error.  I then try to assign the keyword to the photo again and get the error again.  I click okay again.  This time it also says Searching for a few seconds, but when Organizer is ready again this time the thumbnail view has not changed so that is good.  I then add the keyword and this time it works.  Whenever I get the error the exact same sequence happens exactly like this with no variations:
    1.  Error adding keyword
    2.  Long wait with Searching shown in the lower left
    3.  Thumbnail view changes
    4.  I click on Show all and scroll down to where I left off
    5.  Again try to assign the keyword
    6,  Error adding keyword again
    7.  Wait with Searching shown in the lower left
    8.  This time thumbnail view didn't get changed
    9.  Try to assign keyword again and this time it succeeds
By the way, the error window I get says:  Error Applying Keyword Tag(s).  It always is this same sequence.  Much of the time I get no errors and then I will get one and go through the above sequence.  I often can do a few more with no error and then an error again.  It seems to be random.  Sometimes it might happen 2 or 3 times in a row and sometimes it takes a long time until it happens again.
I repaired the catalog, but it said there were no errors.  I also optimized the catalog.  Remember that I have just imported the photos and have been adding keywords.  I have not actually made much use of the catalog.  I have not been deleting or anything else.  Just import and add keywords.
    Any ideas?  Thanks!

    Where is the catalog located?
    Are you running Windows?
How many drives on your computer, and how much free space on each?
Which drive are you using for your PSE scratch disk?
    Ken, thanks for your reply.
The photos are on a 1tb USB 2.0 external hd.  The catalog is on my computer local C: drive.  I am running Win7 64-bit.  The C: drive has 151gb free.  The external hd has 245gb free.  The PSE scratch disk is the default since I haven't changed anything, I suppose that would be the C: drive.
Adding keywords to all photos on the first round worked without problem.  Adding one or two additional keywords to some of the photos on my second round works most of the time, but maybe about 20% of the time I get the error.  The error always goes away after the above lengthy, very annoying sequence though and I can continue.

  • PSE 9 Organizer Error Adding Keyword Tags and Other Woes

Hello, everyone.  I am having a ton of problems with PSE 9 Organizer.  The most frustrating and biggest problem is that I believe my catalog has been corrupted beyond repair.  I spent all of yesterday tagging my photos.  I had no problems and everything seemed to be going well until all of the sudden, the organizer suddenly froze up.  I had to use the Windows task manager just to get it to close.  This happened several times.  Finally, the organizer locked up my computer and I had to restart.  I opened the catalog and didn't seem to have any problems at that point.  I was able to view all of the images, video files etc.  I was even able to open the editor from the organizer.  When I tried to add a tag to a photo it gave me an error.  All it said was "error adding keyword tag" then nothing.  I tried to delete the photo and all it said was "error deleting photo".  This "error" shows up any time I try to make any changes to all of the images.  I can't add any new photos, can't delete, or add tags.  I have repaired the catalog several times.  It found errors the first time, but evidently that didn't fix my problem.  I also optimized and deleted my thumbnail cache to see if that was the issue.  Still nothing.  I have other catalogs and they work fine, so it is something to do with this particular catalog.  Any suggestions on what to do next?  Can I move the pictures to a new catalog without losing the tags?  And no, I didn't write the tags to the images because I wasn't done tagging.  Besides, PSE doesn't always write the tags correctly, as you probably know. Next problem.   When I first open PSE and select the organizer, it doesn't alway open.  I can see it on my taskbar (Windows 7 64 bit), but I can't get the window to maximize.  I have to close and open several times to get the window to open.  Sometimes it randomly jumps to my second monitor like it can't decide where to go.  Very frustrating.  I would appreciate any suggestions about what to do.  Thanks.

Back to the original question, after thinking about this for a couple days I have had two ideas for workarounds:
    1)  Copy my tag names into the photo metadata and create a new catalog to bring all of my images into.  This will allow me to keep all of my existing tags, and it MIGHT solve the tag display problem based on a test with a couple images in a new catalog.  The downsides to this are a) permanently writes my tags into the photo metadata which will be bad if I decide to change something later, b) loses all version sets, and c) loses all albums (although I don't have that many).  I found instructions for this workaround at http://www.johnrellis.com/psedbtool/photoshop-elements-faq.htm#_Merging_Catalogs.
    2)  Live with the lack of color tag display in Organizer, and use reverse searches to find missing tag categories.  For example, if I want to find all photos that do not have a "Places" tag, I check the box next to the "Places" category (which also selects all sub-categories and tags below this).  Then I go to the Options drop-down in the Find Bar and "Hide best match results" and "Show results that do not match".  This gives me every image in my catalog that does not have a tag from the "Places" category, so I can go through and tag these as appropriate.
I would have gone with #1 if it weren't for the permanence of the keywords.  I guess I have a commitment problem (or I just haven't got my tag hierarchy figured out yet).  Instead, I am going with #2 which should give me most of what I need for now.  I will still hold out some small glimmer of hope that Adobe manages a fix for this issue down the road.

  • Does IWeb have a way of adding "keywords?"

I am curious about adding "Keywords" to a website. I know that there are a lot of website optimization programs out there (google, go daddy, and more), which will help you with this, but I am wondering if there is a way to attatch keywords to my Iweb website, without using help from those other services.

Not any that I have found to directly add them. I use GoLive to add keywords, etc. and post to my server.

  • Adding keywords to multiple photos has stopped working

All day I've been importing photos and adding keywords to them.  I add some keywords to all photos during the import, then after importing I go through each photo and add additional keywords as needed.  It worked fine all day, but all of a sudden when I highlight several photos and add keywords, it's only applying the new keywords to the last picture highlighted.  I've closed the program (LR5) and reopened it, but that didn't help. What have I done wrong?
    Thanks

Thank God for this forum!  :-)  Everyone is so helpful!  (btw, as I read your response "d'oh" came out of my mouth.
    Thank you.

  • Assigning Keywords to Faces.

Once I have confirmed a particular persons face in faces is there any easy way to batch assign a keyword to those photos?
I’ve brought up the keyword HUD and drug the appropriate keyword to the selected photos, but it doesn’t take.
    Ken

    Hi,
There doesn't seem to be any way to do this from the Faces page, but I found the following workaround:
    * In the left panel, select "Photos" under "Library"
    * In the browser window on the right, click on the Filter button just to the left of the search field.
    * Click on Add Rule, select Face.
    * For the newly added rule, adjust it so it says "Face" -- "is" -- <Face Name>
All of the photos with that face should appear. You can now select all and drag the desired keyword to all the photos.
I don't understand why Apple doesn't allow you to add keywords like this on the Faces screen...

  • New to Premiere Elements 9 - adding keywords to clips in timeline?

Hello to hopefully my new best friends
I am editing college football highlights.  I have been using iMovie for about 3 years, but it lacks certain features that I was told (still hoping!) Premiere Elements 9 has.  Anyway -- I am editing from full game videos from an external hard drive.  I have imported an mp4 file (full game), dragged it to the timeline, and edited out the plays that I want to keep, then delete the rest of the footage.  So, I have lots of short clips on my timeline.  Before I begin the "real editing" or adding the transitions, effects, titles, etc., I would like to be able to "tag" each little clip with a keyword, such as "tackle, sack, interception, etc." - so that I can sort them easily.  I see that you can add keyword tags in the "Organizer" - but that adds the tag to the "entire clip" - which in my case is a complete football game; not my edited clips.  Is there any way to tag my edited clips in the timeline???
Thank you so much in advance for any help you can provide!
    Kim

    Kim,
I've not done this in PrE, so someone else will have to tell you where my process goes off, or exactly how to easily do it in PrE. In PrPro, I can do exactly as you have done, then create Sub-Clips from each of those segments in my Timeline. This will then place them into a Bin (like a folder that I create) in my Project Panel. I have the availability to use many different Columns there, and can even create them to suit. I can also order those Columns, so that say "Description" is the first Column visible, after the Clip/Sub-Clip's name. Some of the Columns, like Description, are text boxes, and I can easily fill them in with just the type of annotation, that you describe. When working on Projects, similar to yours, I will move Description to the head of the list, with Video Usage, and then Audio Usage next. Other attribute Columns follow along, and are ordered to my preferences.
Sorry that I am much less familiar with PrE, as most of my Projects there are rather simple. Still, I know that PrE offers one the ability to display several text Columns in Project Panel, so that part should work. I am just unsure of the Sub-Clips, so that you can easily see just what you have Cut.
Good luck, and I am sure that others will be along in a bit, and can point you to an exact workflow, that will get you what you want.
    Hunt
BTW - by using single words in Descriptions, I can even Sort by that Column. Not sure where the alpha runs out - first letter of first word, or something else?
