Adding Label (logos) to movies

Does anyone know how I can label my movies with Imovie? I designed a logo with Photoshop (& Illustrator), now I want it to appear in my movies.
Do I need a special plugin?

if I understand you correctly, what you want to do is have your logo appear inside your clips, e.g. at the bottom right corner of a runnig clip, not simply as a stand-alone picture.
There are many ways to do this, and some work better than others. Some time ago, we put together a tutorial illustrating some methods of doing this:

You are not doing anything wrong. The January 2014 update of Photoshop CC added the option to embed OR link Smart Objects. Until this Photoshop CC update, Smart Objects were always embedded in the Photoshop document. Although it made the file size larger, it was like a built-in backup plan because any placed files were included in the document. Now you have the option of embedding or linking the Smart Object. Linking references the file rather than actually copying it to your current file. In terms of your small tutorial, choose Embed.

Adding editable region tags moves my content in non-editable regions

I have a template based on a template (the first with my navigation, and the second is based on the first with a sidebar added). When I add an editable region to the second template, it moves my sidebar down to leave a gap between the nav bar and the top of the sidebar. On the second template I want to add editable regions to the content area and to the sidebar. Even if I don't add any content to the editable reagions and just place the editable regions tags, my sidebar still moves down. I have tried adding two seperate editable regions and also adding one large editable region covering the content area and sidebar and the sidebar moved both times. My content area is a div floated left and the sidebar is a div floated right.
I don't understand why anything is moving when I am only adding tags to make an area editable

Do you have a container that the two divs are in and if so, are you clearing the floats? It's hard to give an answer without seeing the problem page.

Adding a logo overlay to videos - automated process ?

First, off, I checked the wiki site, and could not find an answer to my question, so hopefully this is one worthy of an answer.
I would like to know how it is possible to save a "template" or whatever the term may be, where I can quickly and efficiently load a .png logo that I used all the time, for every video I produce.
At the moment, I do not see how I can accomplish this, and perhaps this is a newbie type question, I hope somebody has time to help me out.
Basically, I load a short video into Premiere, and then want to overlay my logo, each time, every time, in the exact same place. At present, with each video I load, I have to re-apply the logo, and this is very time consuming, and i know there must be a better way.

Time consuming in this way, - I have many smaller movies, some are 30 seconds long, some are 2 mins long, and I have about 40 of them or more.
It's not time consuming actually importing the logo overlay, but it's the scaling of it, and placing it exactly where I want it that is the time consuming part. I find that graphics are loaded in, and are never exactly imported at their original size. It seems I must always also scale them slightly.
I thought I could load a new video say in the morning, and then open a template which would load the .png transparent logo over the movie, in exactly the spot I want it ( set up previously ).

I'm editing a video in imovie '08 and adding iphotos to the movie, but some of the photos are not showing. Help

I'm editing the video of a presentation one of my clients has delivered, I'm adding the slides of the presentation in as photos from iphoto, the problem is that some of the photos are now showing up in the video even though they have been added. Also where photo number 7 should be it is showing photo number 12? I really need to sort this out and need help. How do I get the photos to show and show properly in the right place?

I've got a list of things to look at and tryout to see if we can narrow down what's happening. Try any one in any particular order see if the problem keeps happening.
1. What format are the original photos in?
Are the all the same?
If they are different, do some work and others do not?
File formats that are “raw” may be a problem.
File size may also be a problem if they are very large files.
2. Duplicate the project in the Project Library
Try dragging a photo into that copy of the project
Any differences? If you can import photos into the Duplicate, try copying then pasting into the original and see if the image shows up.
3. Duplicate a picture inside of iPhoto
If you want to have a particular picture and can find it within iPhoto try making a duplicate.
Does it show up in the Photo browser? And can you drag that duplicated picture into the project? What do you see, what result do you get?
4. Clean the iMovie cache
Quit out of iMovie. Then go to your Movies Folder > iMovie Events > Project folder name
Drag the folder "iMovie Thumbnails" to your trash. Then open the folder "iMovie Cache" and drag the file "Cache.plist" to the trash.
This should regenerate any cached thumbnails for the project, may be helpful.
5. Try tossing out the iMovie preferences
Quit iMovie.
Open a Finder window to your user's Home folder>Library >Preferences folder. Find the file named "com.apple.iMovie.plist" or "com.apple.iMovieAppl.plist" and move it to the trash.
Try opening iMovie again, then opening the project and dragging a photo from the Photo Browser into the Project timeline.

Adding a logo to every slide in my presentation in Keynote '09

I can't seem to figure out how to add a logo to each slide automatically something like a slide number is added automatically when the proper selections are set. The item I would like on each slide is a four letter logo on the lower left corner of each slide.

Are you putting your logo directly on to the slide, or are you putting it on the MASTER SLIDES? On the left side of the display (below New, Play and perhaps Skip) you should have 2 stacked, vertical columns titled Master Slides and Slides. If you only see Slides, then grab the handle to the right of the title and drag it down to find your Master Slides. Open each of the masters and copy and paste your logo on to them. Now it will appear on every slide.

Adding a logo to the playbar

Hi everyone,
I have a new template that I'm working with in my courses and I've customized my playbar to match the branding. What's bothering me is that it looks like our logo and copyright are "floating" above the Captivate playbar and I'd like to integrate those elements with the CP buttons if I can.
Is this possible? I would think it is, but I haven't been able to find any existing posts that can help me out with this. I'm using CP 5.5. I've tried searching through the Application files to find my saved playbars, but I can only find the CP template playbars.
Here's how it looks now...I'd like to push that logo and copyright to the bottom (and into the CP playbar itself).

What I would do in this case is use the "overlay" and "alpha" options in the skin editor to make it look like the logos are on the playbar.
1) If I needed the file to be the same size as it is currently, I'd use "Rescale Project" to increase the height of the project by the height of the playbar, making sure to choose "Keep the project the same size and position the project Top Center." (Note: this cannot be undone with ctrl-z once you've resized it, so if you've never used this feature before, maybe save it under a different name before trying just in case.)
2) You'd then have a project with extra white space at the bottom, the same size as your playbar. I'd move the graphics and background color down to where you want them (either keeping them on a master slide(s), or on the first slide set to show for the whole project).
3) Then I'd go to the skin editor and click the "Playbar Overlay" checkbox and make the Alpha (transparency control) 0%. The playbar should now sit on top of the bottom of your project where the logo and copyright are, instead of below.
Note: you may have to turn off the "border" in the skin editor if you have one.
I hope that's clear, and that it helps! It can be hard to explain things without pictures...

Adding link to Flash movie to HTML Help

I have to output the same help in both CHM and WebHelp, and I
have to include a Flash movie (SWF) in both versions. The only way
I've found to get a link to the Flash movie to work in the compiled
CHM is to add all the Flash files to the project as "baggage" and
then insert the link. Compiled CHM then includes the Flash files.
Is this the recommended approach? Is there an easier way?

IPhone adding Labels in Gmail?

ok, so this is a weird issue that might be how the iPhone 4 communicates with Gmail, but still an issue. My gmail has now added a "Deleted Messages" label and "Sent Messages" label. This is after I added Gmail as an IMAP service, I didn't use the default Gmail setup in the iPhone. Now instead of actually deleting the messages, they go into this deleted messages and sent, actually go out, but are added to the sent messages folder. So now it feels that everything is duplicated??
Anyone else have this issue???

try this, go into your gmail settings on your iPhone, tap account info, tap advanced, under mailbox behaviors - tap drafts and select on the server, tap deleted on select on the server. This may help, that's the settings I use.

Problems adding Text track to .mov file

I am having a problem adding a text track to a quicktime file. I want to overlay text onto a PAL DV file. The original file size is 720 x 576 but when I add the text (as per the instructions in the QT Player Help) instead of having the text overlaid, it appears next to the Video image and gives me an image size of 1325 x 577. If I now export this as a "PAL DV" file, QT Player shows the whole 1325x577 frame whilst FCP accepts the file but shows only the video part of the frame.
I'm running QT 7.4.5 on a MacBook Pro with OS10.5.2. I have tried re-installing QT without success - this maybe because the Preferences seem to stick when upgrading/re-installing (?)
Any thoughts, help or, better still, a definitive answer to my problem would be most welcome.

Use the Movie Properties window to size your added text track to match the 720 width.
For viewing a DVD on a TV size it even smaller (700) and set an offset value of 10 pixels so your text doesn't get cut off during playback.

I wonder how well the paint will stick. I fear it will come off with time, especially on the palm rests and the buttons. I didn't paint the touchpad and it doesn't look bad...

elmer_42, mikesd: I used acrylic paint. I found both sprays in the car section of the hardware store, and they were almost double the price from similar colors in the normal paint section. Both are labeled 'metallic'. This paint dries really fast. it's dry to the touch after 20 minutes. On a piece that isn't visible from the outside, I tried scratching it, and it came off like a layer of skin. So it dries, becomes flexible and then hardens. It's not like those types of "dusty" colors.
I also think that the color will definitely wear off on the palm rests and the buttons, maybe the lid as well. I didn't have enough black colour and I only painted it with primer and one layer of color. If the color wears off, I'll just redo everything but with primer, two layers of color and a finishing layer of clear coat, as it's the right way to do.
Taking apart the laptop takes less than half an hour, so it's not a hard job redoing it.
I actually wanted to use two different shades of blue for the logo, making the top part lighter like in the crystal icons theme, but I didn't find an appropriate shade of light blue. But I feel like it looks really nice as it is now. The metallic blue is *really* shiny, and on a test run I had some trouble getting a nice distribution of the silver particles:
Looking at the cardboard stencil I used for this test, it's even more obvious that the paint shows some odd distribution behaviour:
Using the adhesive foil stencil and spraying the black coating instead of the newspaper worked though as the paint doesn't suck the paint.

Printer determination in material labelling MIGO 101 movement

Hello,
I'm trying to set a different printer to label the materials on 101 movement...
I already made all the settings (I guess... NACE, MN23, OMBR, OMB3, ...) but still I get a pop up window when printing (MB90) asking me what printer to use... I even set the default sap printer (SU3) to that specific printer, and also the default printer of my windows XP scheme...
Does anybody have a guess on this issue? Does this as anything to do with this specific printer that is bar code creator? If I print another message... which prints in a regular printer the pop up message does not appear.
