Adding link to edit user personal data in Collaboration Launch Pad

HI Experts,
1. How to add a link for user to edit personal data
(General Data) in CLP.When i click a link it should display the user modification window. After modification it will save the data. what is the name of iview for this and where is this iview located in portal. How can i do this.
2. i have imported the PAR file "com.sap.netweaver.kmc.people.par" in to the NWDS & deploy it. After that i have created an User Details Iview, when i preview this iview it showing "Cannot identify the user. Make sure that the user mapping has been defined". what is the problem? please help me..

Hello All,
This is the second time now that when I customize the ToolArea...like in first one I added a marquee and now a clock showing the current time to users.
But in doing so, <b>the Collaboration Launch Pad link disappears</b>.
And I did not touch any code related to it.
I just add a <td> after the <td>of SearchTextBox in ToolArea.
Please help me understand this behaviour? Whatz going wrong?

Hi Abdu,
Inorder to enable your instant mesaging and other activities in the launch pad enable the RTC and collaboration lauch pad property of the tool area iview in the innerpage.Automatically then you should get all the link to activities.
also you can hide some of the properties if you donot want to show them in the CLP.

Link 1 and Link 2 in Collaboration Launch Pad

Hello,
I'm trying to configure Link 1 and Link 2 options in the CLP. These two links appear activating the EnableLink1 / 2 in Tool Area properties.
So far I haven't find a way to set the properties for the links.
Is there any documentation about this?

Hi,
To do any modification on the portal tool area
Navigate to
<SAP_J2EE_Engine_installation_dir>\cluster\server\services\servlet_jsp\work
\jspTemp\irj\root\WEB-INF\deployment\pcd.
Copy com.sap.portal.navigation.toolarea.par.bak to your desktop and rename it to .par
Modify the code and redeploy it again
also check Collaboration Administration-> Collaboration Launch Pad Administration -> Link Command
locate link1 or link2

change its reference

Link for Launching Collaboration Launch Pad

Hello,
At the moment I configure the Minimal Basic Configuration for Collaboration. I want to activate the link for launching the Collaboration Launch Pad. I did all steps but I don't find the link. I know that a link have to be in masthead.
Does this mean that there should be "Collaboration" near "Content Administration", "Content Management" and so on? I don't see a link "Collaboration". What I could do?

Hi Susanne,
If you have changed your framework page, then you should make that
change there also.Because as per the master rules, you will be using
a specific framework page for your id. That can be verified in ur master rules.
So if that is the framework which you have customised , then this change will have to be made there also.

Collaboration Launch Pad Link dissapeared from Toolbar

Hello,
I need help with the Collaboration Launch Pad.
According to the SAP Help I have configured the CLP, so that it shows the link on the toolbar in the top portion of the screen. It worked fine, until some time ago, when it stopped showing in the toolbar. We installed a TREX Patch somewhere around that time, but I cannot imagine that that could be the cause.
Has anyone experienced a similar problem?

I already found out, what the problem was. The delta-linked iView Tool Area in the Default Framework Page got somehow corrupted (don't know why - it had two instances of the parameter "Enable Collaboration Launch Pad"), I deleted it and copied the original Tool Area iView into the page again. Then I have set the "Enable Collaboration Launch Pad" property to true and voila, the link was here again

How to add a Link to Edit User Account Info?

Hi, I want to add a link that will take me to the edit user page in oiddas, for the current logged in user. I would have thought that this would come standard in portal, as a smark link. But all I have is the Edit Portal Profile link (which allows me to set my default group, default home page, etc). I just want to create a link to edit the current user's account information (and reset their password). Does anyone know how to do that, am I overlooking something?

Yes, if possible, I changed it.
You must to modify ToolArea iview .par file.
Go to ToolAreaiView.jsp in portal-inf and replacing the link name.
For example, this is my code:

Exit button - Germany Personal data service does not work

Hi all,
We just upgraded our portal to EP7 Sp22 with 1.3 ESS Business Package and 603 XSS components in the back-end.
In testing Germany and all countries that use the Germany personal data service, the Exit button on all screens (Overview, Edit, Review and Save, Confirmation) does not work. The Exit button, when selected, keeps the user on the same screen.
I am not sure where the button is configured, but it should always take us back to the page from where the service was launched. So if I accessed through the Overview page or Personal Information page, and then click on the exit button, I should be taken back to one of those pages.
Where can we configure the exit button for the German Personal data service, so that it works and takes the user back to the page where they started.....?

The Germany personal data service is the only one where the exit button is not working. All other countries are testing fine.
Is it a customization issue on the back-end? The resource in spro for germany is configured with the pcd link of the german personal data i-view.
The other countries are also customized in the back-end with the pcd link of the appropriate i-view.

Personal Data error - java.lang.NullPointerException

Hi,
When I access "Personal Data' from the "Personal Information' Area page in poral, i get an error:
Failed to process request. Please contact your system administrator.
Root Cause
The initial exception that caused the request to fail, was:
java.lang.NullPointerException
we are using EP7 Sp12 and ECC6. Any idea on how to display the data ?

Open the Default framework page .
Click the tool area iview and click edit button. In the properties category select show all.Then change "Enable Collaboration Launch Pad" to 'No'

How to remove mandatory field for Last Name in Personal Data Editing Screen

CUrrently we are using BP_ ERP5ESS1.31 SP5 & SAP_ESS 603 SP5.
All my ESS Services are Displaying fine and working from Portal.I am having the requirement like I need to make Last Name as Non-Mandatory field in Personal Data. While Editing the PD Screen, there i will find the * mark for Last Name filed, i checked through the Global Personalization Make as Mandatory is Not Personalized its showing, i think its defualt prpoerty,so i am unable make any changes from Portal w.r.t Global Personalization.
I checked in SPRO-- Personal Admin> Custmomizing User Interfaces>Change Screen Modifications, there i find the respective Module pool for those Infotypes and country Specific..
I cheked forModulePool MP000200--> P0002 and Variable Key-40(For India) P0002 - NACHIN -- LastName only OF Radio Button is Selected all other Rado buttons are not selected.
I Checked in V_T588MFPROPS view there for 0002 Infotype P0002 -- NACHN Mandatory check box is Checked all other check boxes are Unchecked.
How to make that Last Name field as Non-Mandatory in Personal Data Edit Screen, where i need to make the changes.'
Please list out the Steps..Where i need to do the configuration. And i assigned all the required ESS roles on the backend.

Hi,
I don't think supressing through Global Personalization will change the business logic. Within the Business Logic it checks for the mandatory field.
After the changes I guess you need to make the changes accordingly.

Issue in confirmation links for personal data ESS application (CA)

Hi All,
We have implemented EXIT button configuration for ESS applications and the Exit button along with 'Go to Home page' link is navigating to custom created page in portal.
The configuration done earlier for ESS applications like Address Update, Family Member/Dependents works fine.
We got a new service added (Personal data) & tried configuring the Exit button for this application also.
Some how the exit button doesnt seem working for Canada besides it working for US.
Please help in figuring out if there is any cause of the Exit button not working for personal data application for molga 07 specially. Adding to it, the links for confirmation screen are also not working for the same application

As per your Req.....
Its seems to be the Services exits that are county specific Services .........mease the Molga ( country Code ) is set for this services is "US"
That Y its working fine .....
But as per your REq you want this Services working for the Molga 07 ...
I thikn for this you need to set the Molga 07 in the contry specific home pages......
Then it will work fine

BP: can't edit "user name" field in section "employee data"

Transaction - BP, tab - identification, Change in BP role - employee.
why i can't edit "user name" field in section "employee data"?
Field is unchangeable only for one in a ~800 BPs.

Earlier it is possible to change the User ID field.
Guess that this might be ur prb
If this BP is used somewhere else I mean in some transaction/CRMD_ORDER/Support message,so it might be not possible to change this now....becuase the log will become incosistent.
for e.g. if in ticket XXXX i have been assigned as reporter as...BP no 10
Later you are assigning this to no 10 to some other person or ID ....
Then the log of CRMD_ORDER or ticket will become inconsistent because the BP is now assigned to a different person who never worked on the same.
Actualy i have faced this query during one implementation that why we are able to change the UserID of existing BP even if it is used in some transaction/message.
Might be this is a new correction in the recent release.

Can't see the ESS Additional Personal Data link within Personal Information

Hi All,
For some reasons, I can not see the Additional Personal Data link within the ESS Personal Information iView. I have checked the Homepage framework and the existence of the iView in the PCD and everything appears to be fine.
Do I need to assign any additional infotype to my id or give myself specific authorisations to see this link?
I would really appreciate if you could provide an answer to my query.

Hi,
I think mostly you have maintained the data in PA30 Transaction and had data in Info type 0105.
After this try to check with your EA-HR patch and SAP HR patch in the services. If both are not maintained at the same patch levels such type of problems will occur.

Cell data not getting refreshed in which user enters data OO ALV(editable)

Hi Friends,
I am using OO ALV for editable grid display.
I am unable to change grid data in the cell in which user enters something, using OO ALV. Did through debugging of my own program and found that some problem with system program. Then I did all system debugging. Could not find out why is the grid not getting refreshed with the new data in the cell in which user had entered some value. Rest of the cell's data are getting refreshed with the values which i am updating in the final internal table. I can see that the data in the final internal table is changed for the cell in which user enters data. But even after the call of
      CALL METHOD obj_alvgrid1->refresh_table_display
does not refreshes the data in the cell in which user had entered data. Rest of the cells data are getting refreshed.
Piece of code:

   The approach you are following is correct. You need to use the comibnation of all these things:
Event - DATA_CHANGED
Methods - CHECK_CHANGED_DATA
             - GET_CHANGED_DATA.
However, here are few standard programs which are having similar functionality.
