Adding login assistance to self service

Hello,
Is it possible to add features like user registration (which goes for approval) and login assistance (if I forget my password or username it can be emailed back to me). I was looking at the oracle page for the Global Fund for AIDS and I really like what they have achieved there.

Silly me. It's funny how things can remain hidden for years if the font size is too small. The login assistance link has been there all along. It just sort of blended in and I never noticed it.

OTL/HXC - Adding Help Link to Self Service Time Entry (TcActivitiesPG)

Hello folks,
I'm a system analyst newly assigned to handling Oracle HR at my job. One thing I'm looking into is the possibility of adding a link to help documentation on our intranet (i.e. outside of Oracle) to the page where employees enter their time (using Self Service OTL). The problem is that no matter how much I look at personalizations for this page, I can't seem to track down a page element that could be used for that. I know there should be something, but I'm not having any luck.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me? How would you add an arbitrary link at the top (or bottom) of the self service timecards?

We're in the process of upgrading to R12; is it possible to add or custom links through personalization there, or is it still something that can only be done via customization? (We can certainly do the latter, but were hoping for a solution that didn't require it.)

Problems adding attribute via OID Self-Service Console

I have added a new attribute via the Oracle Directory Manager tool, but when I map it to the Self-Service Console and select the Predefined List from the User Interface Type, and add the values to the list, only the last value will show up as many times as entries are in the list. For example, the list has the values Y N R, and when updating the value in the Console, the attributes list values are R R R.
I have not found anything on Metalink indicating a bug. Has anybody have any experience with this problem?

Checkbox to be added to HR self service page

We have a requirement to add a checkbox field to a HR Self service page. After the details are entered and Next button is clicked, the control goes to a Review page where the user clicks the Submit button, which saves the data in the database. The checkbox value needs to be saved in the same table along with other standard data.
The OAF region on which we need to add the checkbox is to be added is based on a VO with SQL query (and not on Entity). Could you please suggest as what would be approach to implement the above requirement.

Please find below the complerte requirement.

Forms not opening in Self service login in Oracle Apps 11i

We had cloned one instance and after the clone the self service login is not opening . This is 11.5.8 version of oracle Applications.
I can able to login to dev60cgi/f60cgi page and no issues on that . i am facing the issues at self service.please suggest.

The issue got resolved and the forms are opened . Issue is with the tnsnames.ora in $IAS_ORACLE_HOME/network/admin. we are doing this DB clone in new host and the host entires in tnsnames.ora is rooting to old host entires. We found that and corrected to the new host entries and the issue got resolved. Thanks for your suggestions.Thanks for share solution

I Manager transfer sshr function to Custom menu.But This function is not functioning the way it works on Manager self service. Any thoughts on this greatly appreciated.

Hi kumar,
You need to double check in your custom menu you have added Manager Menu action without prompt and you setup profile option HR:Manager Actions Menu against responsibility.
Also, after that you need to bounce Apache and clear cache.

Adding comment in the OTL Timecard ( in both timekeeper entry & Self-Service)

I need to add a new comment field in the timecard (both the timekeeper entry page & the Timecard Self-Service page).
I am going through the white paper "Configuring The Oracle Time and Labor Timecard User Interface" currently.
what i understand is modifying the LDT file will allow me to add the desired comment in the TimeCard Self Service page, while I need it to be exist in the Timekeeper Entry page also.
i should be able to enter the employee timecard with my comment in the new comment field using the timekeeper entry page and submit it for approval. The approver should be able to review and see my comment in the employee timecard self service page.
what are the required steps to have the new comment field exist in both layouts?
also, is it possible to add the comment not as a new column, can we add the field just beside the seeded comment in the Timekeeper Entry down beside the Select All/Deselect All button?
Note: I am using the Payroll TimeCard Layout.

Sure.
We would like to take the employee time cards being entered into the (OTL Self Service Time Entry) and once approved, have them automatically populate the OTL Timekeeper by employee. These employees are already defined in various Timekeeper groups. Once the supervisor opens up that group in Timekeeper they will be able to export those employee time records to an excel spreadsheet for further data manipulation. That's our end goal.
The question I have is, how does the upload from (OTL Self Service Time Entry to OTL Timekeeper) happen?
Does it happen once the employee time card has been approved?
or
Do you have to launch some type of concurrent job, etc?
I just can't find that process answer and what if anything that needs to be done.

[OIM11gR1] Adding fields to user's search in self service request

Does anyone already tried to add additionnal fields to the search part of request in OIM ? For example during Modify User Profile, Assign role or Provision resource ?
Unlike in administration interface, i haven't found a way to add search fields in self service.

are you able to view using xelsysadm? if yes. Provide the view, edit permission for each and every attribute to User's role using Authorization policy.
If can't able to view using xelsysadm. Hope, you have migrated on other server. Take export of User.xml using Unix Export Utility from dev server and import same using Import unix utility on this server

Adding Custom Tab in OIM 11g Self Service Page

I have to add a custom tab in oim self service page and when i click on that tab it should show two tab like "Search Resource" and "User Info" and when i click on "Search Resource"
it should show Resources list and when i click on User Info tab it should show the all the attribute of user.

For OIM 11g R2, we don't have any composer and all. You need to understand the OIM UI then you need to proceed with Customization.

OEM12c Self-Service App and OVM3

Good afternoon,
Currently I have an OVM3 cluster up and running, managed by an OEM12c instance. It's possible to manage VMs, deploy templates, delete, shut down, power up, et al. I've been trying to get the self-service application to work in order to deploy templates and ran into a few difficulties. Here's a process profile:
- With 'create like', cloned self-service app role from built-in SSA-User role
- Created user, associated user with cloned SSA-User role only
- Propagated basic OEL5u5x64 template downloaded from Oracle into OEM software library, keeping the template as a .tgz file
- Assigned quotas in setup/cloud/infrastructure for the role
- After 15 minutes or so, the requested VM shows up in Enterprise/Infrastructure Cloud under 'targets under creation'
- There is no sign of data import or new directories under OVS/VirtualDisks directory on OVS servers
Under OEM/Jobs, the following:
Step: Update Request To Executing     Succeeded
Step: Check Privilege               Succeeded
Step: Evaluate Parameters          Succeeded
Step: Check Feasibility               Succeeded
Step: Check Import Status          Succeeded
Step: Import Component               ...
'Import Component" runs for about an hour and then fails with:

I'm not sure which logs I should be scouring for this item, but I've tried it multiple times with the same "timeout" results.

The solution was in adding a password to the software library user, under Infrastructure Cloud, Setup, Software Library User Config. It was blank. Added in a pwd, re-sync'ed the OVM server and we're good to go. I missed that memo for the configuration for OEM12c, it appears.

How to remove Layout page when submitting reports in self service?

Hi, when submitting a report or request thru self service, there are 7 steps or pages to go thru. We would like to hide some of these pages and we learned that this could be done thru the Web HTML Call tab when creating the function for the report (System Administrator->Application->Function). For example if you want to hide the Schedule page, just add &scheduleRegion=Hide in the Web HTML Call. We wanted to hide the Layout page and we added layoutRegion=Hide but it's still not hiding it. The other pages we could hide but for some reason the layout page won't. Anybody knows how to do this? Did we get the correct region name for the Layout page (i.e layoutRegion)?

Jus convert your report in Page Layout mode and see if your first pafe is getting expand in the second page.
Now check if there are any cell going into second page.
- if there are any blank cell which is there after table.
you have to check formating very carefull.

I enhanced the /SAPSRM/WDC_DODC_SC_GAF_C-WD-Component of Employee Self-Service Shop with an own ActionLink to an own WD-Component.
Details
The own WD-Component uses the interfaces /SAPSRM/WDI_L_FPC_GENERAL, /SAPSRM/WDI_L_FPC_POPUP and /IF_FPM_UI_BUILDING_BLOCK.

So, the after closing my own WD-Component the products have been added to the basket & the basket can be properly saved.
But pushing the Next-Step-Button or Previous-Step-Button provided by the GAF framework makes the shopping basket "empty" and the Previous/Next navigation doesn't react anymore.
What is the correct approach? Documentation?

Your user will have the Administration page if they have an Authorization Policy configured to allow the user any of the User Management or Role Management Functions. Also, if you login as a user that has those tabs, and logout while on the Administration tab, sometimes i've noticed the new user logging in with the same browser session will be in the Administration tab but with no items available.
