Adding Lyrics to Music Video Files

It appears that iTunes won't allow lyrics to be added to the Lyrics tab if a file is classified as Music Video under Get Info > Options > Media Kind. All my music video files are flv files. Is there anywhere to circumvent this?

Check out LOWER THIRDS...

Good luck,

  • Unable to add music videos file to itune for my iphone

Hi... Mp3 file are working very well but unable to add music videos that i have converted in to iphone mp4 format please help out thanks...

  • After upgrading recently I got this message: "The file 'iTunes Library.itl' cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes." The music/video files are still on my MacBook Pro.  Is it because I'm still on 10.5.8?  How do I fix this?

For your reference I’m using a MacBook Pro running 10.5.8.  Several weeks ago on a Monday I received an upgrade for iTunes. When Tuesday arrived I attempted to log in so that I could download the latest freebie song(s).  I was met w/this message: “The file ‘iTunes Library.itl’ cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes.”
The music/video files are still on my Mac (I’ve verified that via Searchlight), but I’m unable to open the program.  Since I know that 10.5.8 is rapidly becoming prehistoric, could it be that the newest iTunes isn’t compatible w/this particular OS?  I’d like to switch up, but understand that the newest OS won’t work on a Mac of this vintage (6 years old).  In addition, my Adobe products (all CS2) won’t work w/anything newer than 10.5.8, so I’m reluctant to go to a newer OS (I just can’t afford the Adobe upgrade $$$ @ this point).
Is there any way to get a download of an “old” iTunes version?  If there were, I’d simply refuse any future upgrades until my personal economy allows me to stop working as if it were 2006.  Please advise, somebody!

I don't know how you received an upgrade for iTunes.  You make it sound like it was sent to you.  At most your computer will tell you of a new version and you tell it to download it and install it.  However, a computer will not do this for a version which is incompatible.  iTunes 10.7 came out a few weeks ago but your computer would not notify you and even if it did, 10.7 would refuse to install on your computer.  So this part isn't making a lot of sense.
Two ways to get the 'newer version' message.  One is to open your library on a computer running a newer version, and then try to open it with an older version.  Usually happens when the library is on an external and used with multiple computers.  The second way is if you have multiple versions of itunes installed on your computer.
The newest (and likely the last) iTunes for OSX 10.5.8 is iTunes 10.6.3 which has been out for quite a while.

  • How do I move videos in the music file to the music video file?

I have a bunch of music videos in the movie folder, and want to move them to the music video file below?

Are these files marked as Music Videos from under their Options tab of the Get Info window in iTunes?  You can access this information, by right->clicking on the music video, choosing Get Info, clicking on the Options tab when it comes up, and then making sure the Media Type is set to Music Video.

  • I can't see music/video files from my iPad2 or Nano on my Phillips home theatre. Do I need to covert the files?

I can't see music/video files from my iPad2 or Nano on my Phillips home theatre. Do I need to covert the files?

The problem is I can no longer back up my photo and video files taken on my phone, saved to my mac, by copying them and saving them on a USB stick or other external hard drive.
Select the photos and videos in Photos and use the command "File > Export"  and select a folder on your USB stick to save the photos to.

  • IPod Classic 160GB - Lost Of Music & Video Files When Connected To iTunes

I currently have the latest model of the Apple iPod Classic. It's been working great until I decided to connect it to my laptop, to use iTunes. I've done this so many times before without having any problems. Until recently that is.
My laptop and iTunes are able to read my iPod, but when it shows up on iTunes the music and video section disappears. Only 'Other' and 'Free' shows on the ipod's GB stats, with only 148 GB left to use. Before this happened, I had only 110 GB or so to use, maybe even less, since I had tons of music and video files stored. Also downloaded games, which also disappeared.
I thought iTunes was the problem, but when I disconnected my iPod, I searched through it manually, and found that all of music, videos, and games are gone, it's like I didn't put anything in it. The only thing that stayed, was the notes, other than that everything vanished. Is there a way to retrieve my old music, video, and game files back? I tried looking into the hidden files of the ipod itself, and went into 'ipod_control' then to music, but every single folder was empty, all 'F' folders.
I am deeply frustrated about this. I really hope there are solutions out there to help me, without having to re do everything.
Forgot to add, don't know if this will help but, when I connected the iPod to iTunes, there was a pop up message saying something like 'CheeziPuffs cannot be found or played on your iPod' I have never had this pop up message before when the ipod worked perfectly on iTunes.

I am having the same problem. Sometimes I get an error code and sometimes I don't. I tried to get apple to do something about it however mine is also out of warranty so no luck. I have read about a lot a people having syncing issues like this with their ipod classic and I am kind of amazed that apple is not willing to fix this issue. If I get it fixed or have any luck with apple I will post here. Good Luck.

  • All of my itunes library has gone. My Music/video files are still there.

Can I put all of the tracks/videos on with the play count/playlists still there?
    Hi,
I have just turned on my computer, then itunes.
What I found was nothing. I store all my files on an external hard drive and wasn't connected when I first loaded it up.
I have tried loading up itunes with the hard drive and even my playlists and videos have gone.
How can I reload all the tracks without manually putting all my music, videos, photos and podcasts?
    Thanks

I had the same problem today, after spending DAYS updating the dates, genres, album art, and so on for over 13,000 songs. I noticed that the iTunes folder contained a bunch of files named Temp File 1.tmp, Temp File 2.tmp, etc. I renamed the iTunes Library.itl file to not_iTunes Library.itl, and then renamed the latest temp file of any size (i.e., 4 Mb rather than 4 Kb) to iTunes Library.itl. Then I launched iTunes. iTunes recreated the XML file, and everything I'd done up to the time the temp file was created was still there. The temp file had been created at the end of the day yesterday, so I didn't lose anything.

  • How to add a video file directly as a music video file?

When I add a new video file its always taken as a movie file and i have to change the video kind from movie to music video. Is there any way to assign the kind as music video to more than one file at once?

If you've reformatted your computer then as far as the iPad is concerned it's a new computer that it hasn't been synced to before, and iPads are designed to only be synved to one computer at a time. There are some instructions on this page for syncing to a new computer : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141
Do you have a backup copy of your iTunes library that you can copy back onto your computer ? iTunes itself only allows you to copy downloads from iTunes (plus any epubs and/or PDFs in the iBooks app on a device) back via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases. If you want to copy back, for example, music that you got from other sources (e.g. copied from CDs) then you will need a third-party program on your computer to copy them back - there are some listed half-way down this page : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991

  • Itune managing versus reference managing of music/video files

Question for does with large music and video/movie files on external drives. Do you find it easier to allow itunes to manage the files or do you manage the files yourself? If using itunes only as a reference files management tool to point to the media files you have on an external drive, can you still put your music/movie files on your iphone or ipod? Do you feel you have better advantage because you can put the metadata in yourself? Trying to figure out the best solution available in 2012 for managing my media files.

  • ITunes 11 deletes newly added m4v and mp4 video files!

I'm really loathing the new iTunes for a number of reasons.. but this one really takes the cake!
When I try to add an M4V or MP4 video file, iTunes deletes the file and does not add it to the library!
I never had any issues with 10.7.. and seeing as there is no way of reverting back that I can find.. any help in how to solve this... or is this one of those wonder new "feature's" I now have to contend with?
    Thanks

Are you frustrated that whether you drag and drop your video files to iTunes 11, or add video files from “Add files to Libray” or “Add folder to Libray”, nothing is imported even though the files are in iTunes 11 supported MP4, MOV or M4V video format.
If iTunes 11 won’t import MP4, MOV or M4V, first make sure your install QuickTime Player. Even though you hire VLC or Perian or any other media player to take care of your video playback instead of QuickTime, you still need to install QuickTime in order to add video to iTunes 11 for transfer to iPad, iPod, iPhone or Apple TV.
f you install QuickTime player but still can’t add MP4, MOV, M4V to iTunes 11, there is no other solution but to convert MP4, MOV, M4V to iTunes 11 supported video MP4.
Visit the Step-by-Step Guide on how to successfully import all kinds of MP4, MOV, M4V to iTunes 11
The guide also applies to import AVI, WMV, MKV, etc to iTunes 11.

  • Sync error with heavy music/video files

Hi. Ever since i've updated to 1.1.4 i have started getting this sync error whenever i try to upload heavy files (over 150mb) on my iphone:
"The Iphone,"M'sIphone" cannot be synced. The disc could not be read from or written to."
What could be the problem? This only happens when there are heavy files. If i remove those videos or music then the sync goes thru just fine.
Also, didnt have this problem earlier. Only started after i updated to 1.1.4.

I've not noticed this issue, and I have moved several movies over, and they fall into the 500-600MB range. Have you tried any of the troubleshooting steps? Try to power the phone off/on, then try a reset. That is accomplished by holding down the home button and the sleep/wake button together until you see the Apple logo, then releasing. Ignore the screen with the slide to power off option. If that doesn't seem to do it, it could be one of the files is having a problem. You say that eliminating all of them lets the sync work. Do you have USB 2.0 ports? Try to add just one file at a time to the sync and then see when the sync finally fails. It could be something corrupt in one of the files, and you might be able to elimiate the one by this method. If possible, then redo that particular file, be it a music file from CD or video, and then try again. See if any of this helps.

  • Old Music Videos from Pre iTunes 6

Does anyone know what happened to all the music videos that used to be free? I am looking for one they used to have but do not sale or list since the moved to the pay system. I don't remember the song name or artist but remember the video. Does anyone know if those old videos are for sale in some obscure location, if not does anyone have a list of them so I can find that song?
It was a penciled cartoon drawing of a guy head banging to the beat of the music. He also got into a fight and the beat each other with maces to the beat. The song was instrumental except for one word they repeated only a few times.

I'd like to clarify. Essentially I'd like to move my music video files purchase utilizing my Work ITunes Library and add those to same music video files to my Home ITunes Library (already containing music files) so they may be added/synced to my IPhone and/or IPod.
