          im here with a problem , i want to know if its possible to add an extra column to the ALV display my problem is im using the dictionary table directly not using any structures and hence iv not declared any field catalog....the output of this one extra field has to be hard coded and added to the display so it appears with the displayed alv at all times.
is this possible can i get help pls?

Append one more field to the field catalog & populate the same in the output internal table of ALV.

Adding a column into the assets list view?

I am trying to find a way to add a column into the assets list view.
At the moment it has... Title, Metadata Set, Image Size, Duration, Size, Status etc...
I would like to add another metadata field into the list and cannot find anywhere to do it. For example, add the 'Reel' metadata field into the list.
Anyone have any ideas?

1. Log into Final Cut Server as the Admin.
2. Open the Advanced Administration window from the java client.
3. Search for the Metadata Group name "List"
Note this search will return approximately 29 items, but you'll want to modify the one
with the Metadata Group ID "ASSETLISTVIEW"
4. Add the fields to that group that you want.
5. To have these field show up either create New Workspace or logout and login.

Adding description column into wizard generated matrix report

Hi,
I currently have a matrix report that reports rows as job names and columns as media type. the intersection is the media code.
for example i have a job called abc and it has envelopes(e1,e2), base stationary (s1,s2) and inserts (i1,i2).
job envelope base stationary inserts
abc e1 s1 i1
e2 s2 i2
so far i have no problems. what i would like to do is add a description entry next to the inserts column. the description is only for the insert and only needs to be shown when an insert is present.
any ideas? i have tried adding in an additional field, however, i get some type of grouping error (my reports has just crashed so i can't get exact error)

Hi,
If I understood you right. Place the txt next to the insert field, then right click on the txt field and go to 'Conditional Formatting' then New. Put it in, if the value of Insert column is null, then click the 'Hide the Object' checkbox.

Adding A Column into a JTable

I have a JTable with two soccer teams in. What i want to do is to add in a column between them that just says "VS". I ahev to do this when the user clicks a button as the table is constructed from details stored in a MySQL database.
Can anyone give me any help?

the DefaultTableModel supports an addColumn() method, so:
a) create your table and TableModel
b) add a column to the end of the DefaultTableModel
Now the TableColumnModel controls the order in which the columns are painted, so
a) get the TableColumnModel from the table
b) move the colum to the center

Merging 2 Columns into 1 in ALV

Hi Experts,
I am using ALV grid to display data.
I have two fields for icon in my internal table. if i concatenate the fields into one in the internal table
itself then the second icon is displayed like @8O@ -> internal representation.
Is there any way that i can show the two icons in one column of the ALV.
Like if there is any way to remove the dividing line between the two columns only (not the whole ALV)

Adding custom field into ALV grid

I would like to add some custom fields into an ALV grid from a FI/CO report.
I have succesfully added the custom field 'VAT' number for example

This works fine. But I have a problem to add another field named 'due days'.
The due days for one record is calculated by a FM that gives back a NUMC datatype. for example : 6
How can I get calculated fields into an ALV ?

Hello Abjuh
You could take the data element of the fm parameter which returns the calculated due date as basis for your fieldcatalog entry. Presumably you have to adjust the texts (e.g. LVC_S_FCAT-SCRTEXT_S) as well.

Hello All,
I want to display a new column in the ALV output of transaction phap_admin_pa. Is this possible? If so, could anyone please give some guidance how to proceed. The new column willl contain the elements from appraisal catalog. Do u think there will be any BADi's to achieve this or I am not sure if a custom program need to be created?

I had same problem of adding felds from additional data into the ALV and when I asked SAP they told me to implement BADI HRHAP00_REPORTING.
I am still trying to get some info on how to implement it if you find any documentation of someone who has implemented appreciate you tell me.

Adding new column in an existing report which was build using Union

While working in OBIEE 11g I encounter an issue.
My existing report was build using UNION at Criteria Tab in Analysis. Now I have a requirement to add a new column into the same report. For each criteria I have added the new column but when I go back to the "Result Columns". I see a new field added but it is not allowing me to open or edit column properties for that new column & at the same time it is not allowing me to navigate to other tabs like Results, Promts, and Advanced.
I don’t want to build this report from scratch. Is there any workaround to get it resolved?

Just check it once the new added column data types are mismatched or not?
and the new added column should be navigated into excluded section, so u should edit the report and dragged into the table column section.

Hi kavitha,
If your adding a new column to the physical layer or BMM layer the process is same as 10g.
Steps:-
1) Right click table where you want to add the column.
2)Select new object >>physical column/BMM column
3) Enter your choice labelling and data type,if needed formula.
4) Click ok and you can see the column being added on to the table.

I suppose you want to change the sequence of columns of a ALV. If you can change it by clicking 'settings' of right-top corner of ALV. After done you can save the new settings into a new. If you find some abnormal behaviour, please check the settings by WDA component "wd_analyze_config_user".

If you remember in one of my last post I asked for changing the column headings in ALV display for example from 'Material' to 'Material used'.
I am using

It is working well. In ALV display the column heading is changed to what I wanted. But the question is when I export the displayed ALV to Excel using ALV functionality, Export->Spreadsheet... I see that <b>I dont get the Column Heading into Excel as it was in the ALV display.</b>
I get in the Excel as 'Material u' or 'Mat. Used'. But when I add this line in the code.....
when 'Material'.
     field_wa-seltext_l = 'Material used'.
     field_wa-seltext_m = 'Material used'.
     field_wa-seltext_s = 'Material used'.
    <b> field_wa-outputlen = 20.</b>
Then I see that I get the complete heading in the Excel. But this way the columns with outputlen 20 are taking much space in ALV display.
Is there any fix for this. May be not mentioning the outputlen but still get the column headings into Excel as it was in ALV display.

The labels have a fixed size:
seltext_l is long   text: 20 char
seltext_m is medium text: 15 char
seltext_s is short text: 10 char
The text 'Material used' is long 13 char so you should write:
field_wa-seltext_l = 'Material used'.
field_wa-seltext_m = 'Material used'.
field_wa-seltext_s = 'Mat. used'.
You can try to set the field colwidth_optimize of parameter IT_LAYOUT.
This field should optimize the width of the colunm
So
data layout type SLIS_LAYOUT_ALV.
layout-colwidth_optimize = 'X'.

All the columns of an alv grid report are not downloading in excel in 1 lin

I have some 60 columns in my alv grid report and user can download the report using list->export->localfile->spreadsheet.
What the issue is that all the columns are not downloading in one line, instead they split in two rows.

Firstly export the data to memory using the FM LIST_FROM_MEMORY.

This gives the data in ASCII format separated by '|' and the header has '-', dashes. If you use this internal table directly without any proccesing in SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1, then you will not get a good excel sheet attachment. To overcome this limitation, i used cl_abap_char_utilities=>newline and cl_abap_char_utilities=>horizontal_tab to add horizontal and vertical tabs to the internal table, replacing all occurences of '|' with
cl_abap_char_utilities=>horizontal_tab.
Set the doc_type as 'XLS', create the body and header using the packing_list and pass the data to be downloaded to SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 as contents_bin.
This will create an excel attachment.
Sample code for formatting the data for the attachment in excel format.
