Adding markers for tracks in a mix?

i've recorded a 65 min mix and i want to put markers on each song so it's not just one big long mix. i could only find info for putting markers on podcasts but i'm pretty sure that what i want to do is possible.
can anyone help me out?

If you export your mix as an AIFF, there's no way to set markers because AIFF doesn't support markers. But why not export it as a "podcast" - the result is an AAC file, and you can add markers.
AAC is pretty similar to MP3 in terms of compression rate and quality loss (set a high quality in GB's prefs). You might want to avoid turning the AAC file into an MP3, because combining two compression methods is never a good idea in terms of quality.

  • Adding markers for audio slideshow

Does anyone know if you can add audio markers in iMovie 09? I'm trying to create a photo slideshow and want to snap my photos to the beat of the tune but don't see any way to accomplish this.
    Thanks

Yes. Use the [beat marker feature|http://www.kenstone.net/fcphomepage/imovie_09stone.html#markers]

  • No Audio Key Frames Added When Using Track Mixer

Yesterday this worked fine today not.
I edited the video from a live panel at Comic Con. The audio was recoded on a Sound Devices 8 track recorder.
After the picture was edited I added the 6 tracks of audio to do the audio mix using the track mixer as I always do.
I set all tracks to write and lowered all the faders all the way down then as the timeline played I brought up one fader on the presenter and after a few moments I stopped the time line. All channels go to touch I move the scrubber back to before I started to raise the fader and played back, nothing. No audio no fader movement. When I look at the Show Key-frames,Track Key-frames I see no key frames added.
    Any one have an idea?
I edited a panel yesterday in the same project different sequence same settings with video and audio recorded the same way it work fine.
    Thanks
    Dennis
Well I found out how to fix it. Make a new Sequence copy my edited clips into it, add the audio and now it works right.
It looks like the sequence got corrupted so just creating a new one fixed the problem.
I have seen problems with corrupted sequences before but not  causing key frame write issues.
Just a side note I also earlier had red frames showing up that usually mean dropped or bad frames but after restarting the program that went away.
By the way this was with CC 2014
    I will mark this answered

The in and out points, unless changed, are set for the whole sequence. The automation will not write if this in to out area does not included the mix section. It might be that the in/out area of your first sequence was incorrect but this was fixed when you made the new sequence.

  • I've imported some midi tracks, used the mixer to set pan, volume etc, but when I stop playback and restart it sets every midi track back to '0'. I've been using LE for years, this is a new one, any ideas?

    Hi,
that's because Logic reads the volume information out of the imported MIDI tracks and sets the volume fader according to this information. The MIDI information overrides volume settings you have done, so you have to identify the MIDI events that contain volume (or expression or pan or whatever) information and delete them. You can use the event list editor for this.

  • Audio from video to CD using chapter markers for song separation

    Dear All,
I have a client who wants audio only exported from a 2 hour plus original musical video performance and put on CD. I would like to separate the songs on the audio clip so that they can be individually searched by the CD remote rather than just having one long 2 hour plus soundtrack...a lot of work, believe me due to the number of songs involved!
Is there an easy way to do this other than by exporting each song as a separate audio clip? If I create chapter markers and then delete the video track, will the chapter markers remain embedded in the audio portion during the export? I am working with Final Cut Studio 2 which includes DVD Studio Pro and Soundtrack Pro. I also have Toast Titanium 8.
    Thanks for your help.
    Barb

When I need to do this, I export the audio from the QuickTime file into an AIFF file which I then open in a Soundtrack Pro multi-track project, use the razor blade tool to mark the tracks/chapters, then move them into a separate track in the multi-track project (all starting at the very start of the timeline), making as many new tracks as needed.
Then, you need to export one track at a time: mark an in point at the beginning of the project then an out point at the end of the piece of audio in that particular track, solo the track and export mix, giving the tracks numbers as you go - as it's only one track, your mix wil be one track of audio. Continue this through all the tracks, which you can then import into iTunes and, as they're numbered, you'll know which order to put them in on the CD.
I know it sounds long-winded but it's easier than it sounds! Hope it helps,
    Chris

  • Recording & Adding markers

I need to switch from Peak 4 to either Logic Pro or Express. The best feature on Peak is adding markers while I'm recording an audio book. The markers are embedded in the recording so when I edit and delete a section the markers move with the time so all my markers are still where they need to be... Does Logic Pro or Express offer adding markers while you record and embed them into the track?
    Thanks for the help

    Not that I know of.
Marker support in LE7 is pretty poor to be honest. When you've made them they can't really do a lot.

  • How can I remove the underline from added text for tracing edits

We have a lot of content that includes underscores and when we use the track text edit feature added text is green and underlined. How can I change the properties of the added text to not be underlined?

Starting with FM11, you could specify a custom colour to be used for track changes, but the styles (underline, strikethrough) are still hardwired.
Even if you try to make the changes to the rack text edit conditions in a MIF file, they will get overwritten as the MIF is interpreted when opened by FM.

  • What are the dependent SCs to be added to the Track, to develop NW CE BPM

    Hello Gurus:
We are creating a track in a NW 70 SP17 system to be used for NW CE 7.1 Ehp1 SP03 applications, like Business Process
Management applications (Process Composer, Rules Composer). While creating the track, I chose the track template to be "Composite Application 7.1 (with Business Process Management)". And I added the following 14 dependent SCs to the development SC I added to the track.
    CAF01_0.SCA
    CAFMF01_0.SCA
    ENGFACADE01_0.SCA
    ENGINEAPI01_0.SCA
    EPBASIS01_0.SCA
    EPBASISAPI01_0.SCA
    EPBUILDT01_0.SCA
    ESF01_0.SCA
    FRAMEWORK01_0.SCA
    GPCORE01_0.SCA
    MMRSERVER01_0.SCA
    SAPBUILDT01_0.SCA
    VCFRAMEWORK01_0.SCA
    WDRUNTIME01_0.SCA
But when as a Developer when I try to create a DC of type Process Composer, that project type is dummied or disabled ???
Other project types like Composite Application, Web Dynpro etc are enabled and working fine.
    Question:
Is it enough to add corresponding dependent SCs related to Business Process Management ? If so what are those SCs ?
(ii) If I need to choose another track template like " Business Process Management Application for NetWeaver 7.1" which is also available, then how could I have DC project of type Composite Application ?
    Appreciate your help,
    Prasad Nutalapati

    Satish:
I am talking about creating DC projects of type 'Process Composer' for NW CE BPM applications, with in a track I created using a certain template I mentioned. How would that relate to NW Dev Studio ?
To answer your point, when I try to create a local DC project of type 'Process Composer', yes I was able to, no problem. Because the NWDS is from the same CE Server installation files (7.1 Ehp 1 SP00).
    Thanks,

  • Can I use the volume sliders after adding automation to tracks?

After adding a whole bunch of automation to pretty much every track on my first real project on GarageBand, I started trying to mix, and it seems the volume sliders are all locked up on the tracks with automation. I really don't want to have to add a million more automation points just to mix the song properly, so if anyone has a solution, that would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!

Can I use the volume sliders after adding automation to tracks?
    no
    if anyone has a solution
you can select all the points by clicking in the header, and then drag them, though

  • Is BaseLining mandatory for Tracking Gantt in Project Server ?

    Hello all,
I am new to Project Sever and I am feeling a bit uncomfortable with the usage of baselines. I just want a simple implementation where I will have my own custom defined Actual Task Start and Actual Task Finish to track the tasks. But is it possible to have
a Tracking gantt chart using these custom fields in PWA ?
I found no OOTB options to set the dates to be looked for tracking in the gantt customization.
Please update me with this. If there is no other way, then I will go ahead with the Baselines.
    Thanks,
    Shanky

    Hello Guillaume Rouyre,
The requirement in my case is that the engineers are allowed to enter tasks at a later point of stage in the project lifecycle.
ie., Say the Engineer creates 2 tasks with
    T1 & T2   :   Start: 1/2/2015      and   Finish 28/2/2015
Now the manger saves the "Baseline"
Now say the engineer updates these tasks with actuals as
    T1 & T2  :  Start: 5/2/205        and            Finish: 5/3/2015
Now the manager can see the Tracking gantt, the difference between the planned and actuals on the gantt chart.
But say, at this point of time the engineer adds 2 more tasks with say date
    T3 & T4 : Start: 5/3/2015    and Finish: 30/3/2015.
Now these 2 tasks are not saved in "Baseline", hence the manager wont be able to track these tasks on the gantt chart. For this the manager has to set another baseline, "Baseline1" and if the engineer changes the dates for the last 2
tasks there after, the manager is unable to track these 2 tasks in the Tracking gantt chart, as the tracking gantt chart shows just the difference with the "Baseline" dates (But these 2 last added tasks are not a part of the Baseline, but are a part
of Baseline1). Until and unless I save all the tasks into a single baseline, I am unable to view all the tasks on the tracking gantt chart in Tracking View.
When I checked in the forums, I saw something about Interim Plan, where the manager can save temporarily these baselines and then combine it. But to my surprise I am unable to find that "Interim Plan" in Project Server 2013 PWA.
So is there a way that, the manager must be able to track all the tasks added by the engineer at any point of time in the project lifecycle through the "Tracking gantt charts" ?

  • [svn] 4138: * Added support for SWC reuse.

Revision: 4138<br />Author:   [email protected]<br />Date:     2008-11-19 08:15:59 -0800 (Wed, 19 Nov 2008)<br /><br />Log Message:<br />-----------<br />* Added support for SWC reuse.  This isn't just reusing the bytes to<br />  lower I/O, which we were already doing.  This means not reparsing<br />  the bytes unless they become out of data.  The trick with making<br />  this work is validating each of the SWC based cached<br />  CompilationUnits at the beginning of each compilation.  When a SWC<br />  based CompilationUnit becomes obsolete or is removed from the<br />  library path, all the CompilationUnit's, which depended on it, are<br />  forced to be recompiled.<br /><br />  Note: bugs with the SWC reuse logic often show up as errors claiming<br />  that type foo is not an instance of type foo.  This most likely<br />  means that foo was reloaded, but something that depended on foo<br />  wasn't reloaded.  Please file bugs for any errors like this and give<br />  me a heads up.<br /><br />  Flex Builder has logic to take advantage of this change in the case<br />  of application compilations, but it will need to be updated to take<br />  advantage of SWC reuse in the case of library compilations.  The<br />  biggest benefit of this change will be seen when all the libraries<br />  and applications in a workspace share a SwcCache.<br /><br />  Updates to the performance testsuite to enable it to take advantage<br />  of these changes will follow.<br /><br />tests Passed: checkintests, performance testsuite, fcsh unit tests<br /><br />Needs QA: YES<br modules/asc/src/java/macromedia/asc/util/ContextStatics.java<br /><br />    Added clearUserDefined(), which allows Flex to use one<br />    ContextStatics instance when compiling multiple libraries and<br />    applications.  If we didn't clear out the userDefined Map,<br />    definitions from one compilation could potentially spill over into<br />    others where they might not be defined or might be defined<br />    differently.<br /><br />  modules/compiler/src/java/flex2/tools/oem/Application.java<br />  modules/compiler/src/java/flex2/tools/oem/Library.java<br /><br />    Renamed variable "OEMConfiguration c" to "OEMConfiguration<br />    tempOEMConfiguration".<br /><br />    Removed a bunch of duplicate code from recompile().<br /><br />    Added support for reporting the start and end of a "full" compile.<br />    Before full compiles were reported as "inactive".<br /><br />    Added support for using LibraryCache's new perCompileData<br />    variable.<br /><br />    Modified Library.link() to use a SwcDynamicArchive instead of a<br />    SwcWriteOnlyArchive when the file name is known.  This allows us<br />    to reuse the compilation units in the archive for subsequent<br />    compilations.<br /><br />  modules/compiler/src/java/flex2/tools/oem/LibraryCache.java<br /><br />    Added contextStatics variable and accessors.<br /><br />  modules/compiler/src/java/flex2/tools/oem/internal/OEMReport.java<br /><br />    Updated to leverage CompilationUnit.hasAssets() and to reflect<br />    change in type of CompilationUnit's inheritance, namespaces,<br />    types, and expressions.<br /><br />  modules/compiler/src/java/flex2/tools/oem/internal/OEMUtil.java<br /><br />    Modified areSwcFileChecksumsEqual() to ignore timestamp changes<br />    with catalog.xml and library.swf.  When we are reusing cached<br />    SWC's, the catalog.xml and library.swf are updated each time we<br />    save the SwcDynamicArchive, but we don't want to reload the SWC<br />    from disk, because all the compilation units represented by<br />    catalog.xml should be cached.  If any of the cached<br />    CompilationUnit's becomes out of data,<br />    CompilerAPI.validateCompilationUnits() will handle removing the<br />    cached CompilationUnit, which will cause it to be reloaded from<br />    disk.<br /><br />  modules/compiler/src/java/flex2/compiler/swc/SwcCache.java<br /><br />    Renamed "swcs" to "swcLRUCache" to reduce confusion with other<br />    variables named "swcs".<br /><br />    Added tracking The DependencyGraph usage also<br />    happened to be flawed, because it really should have been looping<br />    each time a potential "type" or "expression" source was removed<br />    until no new • Replacing tracks in live mix results in bleed-through of some of the prior recording. How do I prevent this?

I was doing some recording of our band yesterday using Logic Express 9 (13 tracks from a mixer going out the Firewire port into the Mac). For some songs, we wanted to replace the entire song, so I activated the replace button and started re-recording from the beginning. Visually it seemed to replace the tracks, and for many parts of the songs, it did just that. For some, however, there were still remnants of the prior recoding in the background. It was not consistent from song to song, sometimes you could hear some of the prior vocals in the background, in other cases the drums. These remnants were not throughout the entire song, however. You could hear it in some places but not in others. I do not see evidence of multiple takes when I look through all the tracks. It's as if it did not completely erase some of the prior audio, or blended it with the new recording.
Is there something else I need to do to get a complete replacement?
Thanks for any insights you may have.

    Hi,
if you have recorded the whole band through microphones, the earlier versions are ambient sound pickup from the mics of the other tracks. This can even occur if a singer wears a very loud headphone which you can hear through the vocal microphone. Just make sure during your recording session that all instruments that should be recorded very precise - without ambient sound - are recorded separately in a dry recording booth.

  • Exporting 6 channel discrete mono tracks (5.1 mix) I only get 2 tracks with compressed audio and 4 empty track on my output.

Exporting 6 channel discrete mono tracks (5.1 mix) I only get 2 tracks with compressed audio and 4 empty track on my output. I'm using Premiere Pro CC14, sequence settings and export setting pasted below.  Please help need to export feature trailer for iTunes release next week.  Yikes!!!

Thanks for the notes.  Im almost there but not quite.  I create my sequence 5.1 like you said
then map the dots and LFE.  But when I go export media is only give me the option of 1 track 5.1 not 6 discrete channels.
I check my settings and they LOOK right
then I go into my modify clip settings and I see the number of audio tracks as 1 so maybe thats why Im getting only 1 channel 5.1.
But when I select different settings in modify clip environment I can get it to LOOK correct to me
everything seems to be assigned correctly.  But when I go back to export it only still gives me the same option of exporting with 5.1 as a single track.

  • Adding a new track

anyone ever add a new track and it keeps adding a track w/ duplicate settings, even tho you didn't select that option?

    Never experienced that problem.
Could it be you're mistaking the two "add track" buttons? (one is for new track with untouched levels, the other is for adding a duplicate track with the same settings and plug-ins)

  • Special report for tracking confirmations

    Hey,
i am adding internal processing activty in my proj for tracking amount of work confirmned only.. and not for costing, cap pllnning purposes,,,, i can provide a report of cnfmations to ma customer, but the demand rite now is like this as follows....
suppose the work is 100 kms digging... my first km is named position 1200, after 10 km i would be at position 1210 and so on... can we achieve this in ps ... i am thinking to feed this data in some user field  in wbs and get some abap report to achieve the same.. can i do this ... or is there some other solution....  also i am not able to see remaining work in the report.. how to do the same.....pls assist
    Rahul

This can be achieved by using  partial confiration, Final confirmation & degree of processing.
The degree of processing of a partial confirmation inidates to what percent the activity has been processed. System calculate degree of processing from the proportation of actaul amt of work that has already been confirmed for an activity  to it's planned or forcasted total work.
you can also define alternative degree of processing manually in confirmation.
you can also use workcenter actaul work &  remaining work ( forcasted ) fields in partial confirmation to document which workcenter has performed which degree of work & how much still to be performed.
you can use CN48N report for viewing the confirmation.
    Prerequisite for Actvity confirmation is
    the activity must be released
control key of the activity must allow the confirmation.
In customising you must have to defined the confirmation parameters which controlls the properties of the confirmation.
