Adding/merging non intersectng elements.

I've got a question that I have for a few months.
I know this was possible in CS3 but since CS4 I think it has been deleted.
I'm Struggling with the follwing:
- Let's say I have 5 elements that are NOT overlapping. I know that it was in possible in CS3 to "add" these together so that you'd have 1 element that was completely editable. You could for instance put an object on top of the elements > use the pathfinder to delete a part, and all previous 5 elements would be edited (because now it was 1 element).
- If I try this by doing this the same way as I used to in CS5, this doesn't work anymore. No matter how hard I try to join the non overlapping elements it doesn't work in CS5. If I do the exact same thing as described above I'll be left with the same 5 elements and the deletion will only happen in 1 element.
Super frustrating...
Was this something that was altered in CS4?
And if so, how do I do it now?

I believe you are desiring to have a live pathfinder effect. This chnaged to be the opposite of CS3 in CS4. In CS4 hold down option before making a clicking on pathfinder button.
If you hover the cursor over a pathifnder button, a yellow post it help note will explain this.

I saw a demonstration of removing people from a scene when multiple pictures were taken and the people had changed their positions. This was touted as a feature found only in PS extended a few years ago. I have never been able to locate it.

Non-editable element in an InDesign document.

Hello, all.
I need to add a non editable element to my InDesign document. This element will be my copyright notice. Although I will be sharing this InDesign document with others and will allow them to modify or customize it to their needs I wish to make my copyright notice non-editable so users will not have the option to remove the notice.
Is there a way to make an element non-editable in an InDesign document so users can modify anything they want but that one element ?

In addition, as I explained on my previous e-mail, it should be difficult to implement such a feature considering Adobe currently offers something similar on its Acrobat application.
My gut feeling here - not meaning to be offensive - is that you probably have no idea how hard or easy it is to lock something down. I am no developer, but I spend enough time working with devs to have a vague idea how hard it is to make something like what you're describing. And Bob is right about, defeating Acrobat security is trivial.
It is not difficult but impossible to do what you ask for. All you can do is make it difficult to remove your copyright statement, and that difficulty varies according to the technical skills of the person(s) who wish to remove your copyright statement.. In your shoes, I'd just make it annoying to remove, and that would probably defeat 95% of the casual thieves who would file off the serial numbers and call your work their own. Heck, just locking it would defeat more than half of the casual uncredited reuse, if the frequency of posts here is to be believed. Put it behind a locked transparent frame on a locked layer and you've made it more difficult.
I think that there may well be an untapped market for the feature you are describing, Joe - but if I were once again in your shoes, I'd be pitching it wherever Framemaker users hang out.

SSL problems with "non-secure elements"

hello all
We have made a WEB application based on Tomcat and Apache Struts. We have setup with SSL.
SSL goes to Apache HTTP server, which speaks with Tomcat via apj13.
The problem is that IE sometimes shows error message "This page contains both secure and non-secure elements. Do you want to
display non-sescure elements ?". I think it has to something with javascript, because after that error massage
javascript doesnt work anymore. If I click javascript error icon, it says "access is denied".
That erorr happens randomly, I cant repeat it at the same place.
Can anyone help me somehow ?
At what circumstances IE displays that error ? We use version 6.0

Sales Order Account Assign to Non Billing Element

Is it possible to account assign Sales Order (VA01) to Non Billing Element. My limited understanding was that only billing element WBS can be account assigned and Revenue or Billing can be done.

But I could successfully create a Sales order and account assign to a non billing element. It didnt show any error. While billing it show only billing element WBS and thats how we noted the difference.
we could reassign the WBS to the Billing WBS, but curious to know why it happened and how we can prevent such action by users. One option is to educate them to select wbs using search criteria WBS- Billing element. Any other options?

two ways i can think of -
1. Create an Assignment set for all the people who meet the criteria and enter the element entries using BEE.
2. Loop through the view and call the element entry API.
2nd approach is more easier.

i have wsdl file and i have to develop web service using that file only.
i am using eclipse 3.2 WTP, and apache tomcat server.
After importing file, when i am cretaing web service, i am getting msg,

Are optional (non-existing) elements ALWAYS copied to target in TransformXS

Assume I use the TransformXSL activity to copy a structure from source XSD to target XSD.
Some of the elements are specified as optional.
Say for a particular situation some of these optional elements in the source XML do NOT exist.
It seems to me that TransformXSL mapping creates these elements in the target
structure and fill them with empty value.
This is a problem. I don't want them to be created if they do not exist in
the source XML.
How can I prevent the creation of non-existing elements in a TransformXSL operation
otherwise? Is there an option for this?

Is there a way to enter your "if" clause visually through JDeveloper GUI (=NOT in the XSL source code directly) ?
Is there a way to specify this "if" clause for ALL elements of a TransformXSL and not only for one particular one?
It would be rather uncomfortable to enter this for hundreds of optional elements individually.

Dealing with non-database elements!!

hi all, i knew that i have to deal with non-database elements from javascript code and not from SQL code.. but i need to do some processing from SQL code and then update non-database element, how could i do this??

You should use <?if:element = ''?> or <?if:element != ''?>
This should work also:
<?if:text(element)?> or <?if:not(text(element))?>
The condition is always true (false) when either the element is empty or does not
exist. Let me know, if you need to differentiate between both (probably using name() instead of text will work in this case).
If a pagebreak is inside the if statement than it is only shown when the condition is satisfied.

Alternative to Anonymous/Inner when Adding Behavior to Swing Elements?

Hello! I am new to Java and have been trying to teach myself the basics by writing a Swing "JApplet". In adding mouse-click behavior to elements, I have been able to get the desired results by using anonymous "inner" classes. However, I am wondering if there is an alternative way to do this, that may be neater. For example, is there a way to make a non-inner class to apply the behavior, and then use it multiple times? The catch is that I need to apply this behavior to dynamically generated elements, to it has to be able to access certain variables.

How to hide columns that are getting added dynamically to UI Element 'Table

In SRM 7.0 while displaying a RFx, click on "responses and awards" button.
In the response comparision tab once the user selects response number and clicks on "compare all responses".
Item details table is displayed with fields item number,internal number,item description,........,Price etc.
Requirement is to hide the price column from the table.
The UI element type is 'Table'.
But the catch is there is no column price visible at layout design level.
This field is getting added dynamically at run time.
When i right click and see the 'more field help' at the front end i get the field id as 'GRP_1_COL_3_TXTV'.
lo_table ?= view->get_element( id = 'ITEMS_TABLE' ).
lo_column = lo_table->get_column( id = 'GRP_1_COL_3_TXTV').
ASSERT lo_column IS NOT INITIAL.
lo_column->set_visible( EXPORTING value = '01' ).
I had written the above code in the pre-exit of WDDOMODIFYVIEW.
But i am getting dump as assertion failed.it says no column by name 'GRP_1_COL_3_TXTV'.
Please help me inhow to hide fields or buttons getting generated dynmically.

What i understood from your question is,you want to control the table from your inputs.I have a one question for you what do you want to show defaultly i.e when you run the application what you want to show,either no table or table with some values.
Any how i am giving solution in this way.
If both inputs are given proper table output is displayed

Here i am assuming that you already have a table element in the view.
Get the values entered in the input fields and compare those 2 values ,if the condition is satisfied then bind the values which you want to show in the table to the context node.
but if only 1 input is given a column is empty in the output table so i want to hide this column dynamically at runtime based on my inputs
You are telling that you know the empty column.If so get the view element reference and use the REMOVE_COLUMN to remove the column.

Removing the rows is very simple.if you know the key fields data of internal table from your input fields then do in this way.
delete itab from wa where key1= "12" and key2="abd".
Now bind the internal table to context node.

      SET_INITIAL_ELEMENTS = ABAP_TRUE ).
