Adding monitor for scopes

I want to add a monitor in addition to the 2 specially for the video scopes for color correcting. I will need an other video card?
Can I redirect the all scopes to an additional 3rd monitor?
Or what would be the best way to install the scopes seperate? Hardware scopes?
Dorian

I'm always an advocate for hardware scopes. There is no other way to really accurately judge the signal from your output device.
Problem, hardware is expensive. I like the new Leader and Tektronix lcd scopes or the new Tektronix rasterizer. Software scopes s@k, Apple's especially.

  • PB G4 as added monitor

I just purchased a new iMac 20" and would like to also use my previous PGB4 as an added monitor, for applications other than graphics ones. I have no idea how to do that, any chance I could get some advice?
I also use a Wacom Intuos3 graphic tablet, is there anything I should do in regards to that?
    Here are my iMac specs.

  • Adding an override to enable a monitor for a dynamically populated group has no impact?

    Hello all,
I have a monitor that I only want to target to a single computer group. The group is dynamically populated.
My basic approach is that the monitor is disabled by default but enabled with an override for that group. However, the monitor does not appear to be running on those servers (or anywhere else). I was able to confirm this based on the results of running the
"Show Running Rules and Monitors for this Health Service" task--the overridden monitor does not appear at all in the list of monitors running on the servers in that group.
I have checked the Operations Manager event log on both the SCOM host and the machines in the group, and have not seen any errors. The monitor being overridden is a PowerShell script monitor, where for script logic issues I have seen that the event log will
contain information on the error. Nothing appears anywhere to show that the monitor has been enabled for these servers.
Is there a better way to determine why the monitors would not be running on the servers in the group?
    Thanks!

    Hey Gleb,
I have validated that the group is being populated and that the monitor's target class matches the class of the group members.
Checking today, it appears that the monitor has begun running on the members of the group... not sure why there was such a large delay before the monitor began executing on the servers. I still have the dreaded green circles in the health explorer, but have
narrowed that down to a possible condition in my monitor's PowerShell script where the condition properties are not added to the PropertyBag before the script ends.
    Thanks!

  • Want to use a TV as a third monitor for Digital Cinema Display....HELP!

    Hey Guys,
Here's my set up, please tell me where I am going wrong:
I have 2 22" LCD Monitors that I use for my main work. I added a second card to my MacPro so that I could add an additional monitor. Now I have a DVI to HDMI cable going to my Plasma that I want to use as playback for clients and such. Here's where it gets weird... In After Effects, I can use the Plasma in Digital Cinema Preview for Playback and Previews...works great. Then, when I open up Final Cut I have problems. First, when I go to "Digital Cinema Desktop - Full Screen" it display one frame and stay on that one frame even during playback. So then I changed my Sequence settings thinking my TV couldn't handle that Sequence. No I get a White Screen with no playback at all, not even the one frame. Now the weird part is that if I change the TV to my "Main Screen" in Monitor Prefs, and set Digital Cinema to "Main" it plays back fine. So, if I can playback with it as my main, why can't I playback otherwise? And...if it works in After Effects, why is Final Cut Having Problems with it? It's set to "All Frames" and "Desktop Mirroring". Thoughts? I have seen this set up work before...what am I doing wrong?

I'm trying to find out much the same thing. I would assume that anyone knows the answers can help both of us.
I'm purchasing a new Mac Pro desktop. I also use final cut but not after effects.
I actually have 4 monitors to choose from. 2 Dell 19" - One 27" Apple cinema display and a spector High Def 1080i monitor that has a DVI input.
I would like to use one of the Dell's as my primary home desk top monitors with folders and all the usual dock and stuff. I would like to use the cinema display as my primary final cut work surface.
I would like to use the HD monitor to show HD footage and use it as a client monitor. Remember it has a DVI input.
I've talked with the folks at the Local Apple store and they are not sure if I will get a real HD signal on the HD monitor if I add a second radeon 2700 card to the computer and take on of those DVI outputs and attach it to the HD monitor.
If thats not possible can I use the apple cinema display as my playback monitor?
Or do I have to go with a conversion box like a mxo, AJA board, or decklink box.
The goal is to have two monitors for the program and One monitor in HD for the client monitor,
    Thanks everyone in advance.

  • Configure Interface channel monitoring for PI in SOLMAN 7.1

    Hi Experts,
I am configuring interface channel monitoring for PI in SOLMAN 7.1.In step 5 (Define scope) it is asking to select scenario.I can see all PI systems (Dev,QA and PRD) is listed in the table with "monitoring and alerting setup status" as yellow.when I select PI (prod) and proceed , in step 6.3 (Interface channel Monitoring config) I don't find any channel name in table.I need your support to clear my understanding on this.
1)My objective is to monitor all the interfaces that are existing between PI system and other SAP as well as non SAP systems (that include JDBC connections also). How can find all these interfaces in solman while doing Interface channel monitoring config?
2)I am not sure if I have understood correctly that I need to create scenario that includes technical systems between which Interface channel are to be monitored. If I am correct then how can I bring the technical system to SOLMAN SLD from Local SLD of PI(prod). Here I am not getting option to synchronize SOLMAN SLD from PI Local SLD. Even Import option is also not there. Do I need to create all the Technical systems (present in PI) to SOLMAN SLD manually?
If my understanding is not correct then please guide me through steps to do the configuration to achieve my objective.
    Thanks
    Aditya Roushan.

yes, the problem solved. thanks for your replies all.
the users SLDDSUSER and SLDAPIUSER got locked, I changed it in su01.
and I created rfc in SM59 for SAPSLDAPI and LCRSAPRFC and create the same in JCo RFC provider.
    both are working.
    but iam facing new problem.
I have solution manager 7.1 system and I configured local SLD. I did not connect any managed system as of now.
after all the trouble shooting, SLDAPICUST and SLDCHECK is fine but
    the error is
"Functional call returned exception code 3"
"Access to XI Profile currently disrupted.
I have solution manager 7.1, I did not configure managed systems as of now.  is this error belongs to solution manager 7.1 or for PI system.
can u please guide me how to trouble shoot this error. check the following screen shot for reference.

  • Custom Adapter - No content in Communication channel Monitoring for JCA

    HI,
We have developed a Custom Adapter for our client in XI with name JCA and it is working absolutely fine.
Issue: We are not getting any entries in Communication Channel Monitoring for success or Error Messages.
We have used Audit log for success or Failure entries and they are coming fine in Messaging System but there coule be a standard way to get entries in Channel Monitoring.
Our client needs the entries in CC monitoring instead of Customised Audit Logs.
        Please help.
    REgards,
    Anurag Garg

    HI Satish,
Thanks for answer. I am looking for this in Custom Adpater not in adapter module.
This log  creates a trace  File . Its not to do with getting messages in CC monitoring as we do get for File Adapter or other Adapters.
Like- Message Successfully put into the queue.
                         -  Successfully processed.
Such Messages are there in sample_ra. jar file code but they are not visible in CC Monitoring.
I think some extra code needs to be added to activate this in Monitoring.
                   Please suggest.

  • Error occurred in deployment step 'Activate Features': Feature with Id 'GUID' is not installed in this farm, and cannot be added to this scope.

Really frustrated!!! Using SP 2010 with VS 2010. Created a simple project with just 1 elements.xml file for adding 2 columns. Scope of the feature is "Site". When I right click and deploy it gives below error.
Error occurred in deployment step 'Activate Features': Feature with Id 'GUID' is not installed in this farm, and cannot be added to this scope.
If I look at the CA, I see the wsp is installed but NOT deployed (Status = "Not Deployed", "Deployed To" = None). I have checked the GUID in the error and its my feature id.
Please let me know what is going wrong here! Thanks for your help.

    Hi Sagir,
Try to check the GUID in error message to see if it’s in Feature1.Template.xml file.

  • Memory monitor for Project Raptor

I have earlier written a Memory monitor for JDeveloper 10.1.3 EA, where you can see the heap memory being consumed by the IDE.
This works for raptor too due to its JDeveloper base.
The extension was included in the JDeveloper Check for Updates.
You can use the same extension for Raptor also.
Option 1 : Use Check for updates by adding the following update center link:
    Update Center : http://myjavaserver.com/~rajvissa/center.xml
Option 2: download the jar file and drop into ur < RAPTOR_HOME >/jdev/extensions folder
    Link: http://jroller.com/resources/r/rajvissa/memory.monitor.10.1.3.jar
    How it looks:
Memory monitor for Project Raptor : http://www.jroller.com/page/rajvissa?catname=/JDeveloper
Probably Raptor can add this to their update center like JDeveloper 10.1.3 EA.
I tried this and found that raptor's memory consumption is < 70MB most of the time (I am not a DBA)

    Hi
I installed it with option 2: option 1 did not work. I am unsure if it's my issue or general.
Nice... I can control the amount of used memory!!
    Thanks,

  • Monitoring for a collected file

    Hi there folks
I have a need to use SCORCH to perform some automation based upon a file.  Essentially this is what I wish to do
    - Write a text file to a share on an SCCM client.  There will in fact be a number of SCCM clients
    - The folder is monitored for file collection
    - The file will be transferred to SCCM Site Server
    - I want SCORCH to be able to look into SCCM for a number of known SCCM clients to identify that a new file has been collected, read the filename and then start processing the file.  Ideally I'd then like to have SCORCH delete that file.
It's that last stage which is causing me some concern as I cannot see how to programmatically get into File Collection and extract the text file.  Is there a script which we can access on this at all?

    Hi Torsten
OK, it's a bit complicated but I have a branch office like scenario but each is an untrusted forest.  I have a server down on the branch which is an MP, SUP, DP and SCCM client and it manages a bunch of SCCM clients down in the branch.  This server
also functions as a SCOM gateway for managing the infrastructure boxes.
Down in the branches however I have a bunch of boxes which cannot have an SCCM client installed on them (even with the new clients) which from a central location need to have jobs run on them.
At head office I have a package for each Branch and I write a job file for a system in the form SYSID-TicketID.JOB where SYSID is the name of the system and ticket ID is what Remedy built.  The .JOB file goes into the package and the package content
is refreshed.  The .JOB file finds it way down through SCCM and eventually arrives at the branch and is copied to the share.  At the branch, systems will look in the share and see that there is .JOB file for them.  They will do something at
    this stage.
When the system is performing its stuff it will write to a share on the SCCM client called BACKCHANNEL a file called SYSID-TicketID.LOG.  Through file collection SCCM delivers this file back to the SCCM server.
Now, we need SCORCH to be able to look into SCCM for any collected files and then extract them, adding the .LOG file to the ticket in Remedy.  When this is done we want SCORCH to be able to remove the .LOG file from SCCM and then to remove the .JOB
file from the package source.  The next time a new .JOB file is created there and the content refreshed the old .JOB will be removed from the DP and the new .JOB sent down.
Yes, it is complicated in a way

  • Select the approval Agent for Modeled Deadline Monitoring for WF WS14000133

I have setup a deadline monitoring for WF WS14000133 using the modeled approach and added the "Send Mail" Test along with a Loop so that the the appover will get an email every day after three days of not approving a shopping cart.
I noticed in task "109 Subworkflow n-step over Value" there is a task container element "&APPROVALAGENTS.ACT_AGENT&" which contains the approver. I am tring to put it in a Workflow container element that I created referencing "WFSYST-AGENT". When I try to setup a binding to import the value from the task container to the workflow container I get the following error:
"Data object 'APPROVALAGENTS' is elementary )component 'ACT_AGENT' does not exist)
Does anyone know how to fix this or does anyone know another way I can get the approval agent to the WF container so that I can send the email to them in the "send email" step?
According to SAP this can be done....this is what they say on help.sap.com:
"Actual agent: Element WIActual_Agent in the task container
If you want to transfer the actual agent of a work item (available under the element ID WIActual_Agent in the task container) to the workflow container for further use, you define an appropriate element in the workflow container to contain this information.
You create this element with a reference to the ABAP Dictionary field WFSYST-AGENT."
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/c5/e4b06d453d11d189430000e829fbbd/frameset.htm

    hi ,
the field actual agent gets will filled once the responsible agent completes / performs an action on it. Hence it is suggested to use some method / rule to get the responsible agent and create one local workflow container variable (table) to fill up the agents instead of manipulating the workflow variables directly.
In this way, you can check if the table of agents and then send accordingly the deadline messages.
    Hope this helps.

  • [svn] 4138: * Added support for SWC reuse.

Revision: 4138<br />Author:   [email protected]<br />Date:     2008-11-19 08:15:59 -0800 (Wed, 19 Nov 2008)<br /><br />Log Message:<br />-----------<br />* Added support for SWC reuse.  This isn't just reusing the bytes to<br />  lower I/O, which we were already doing.  This means not reparsing<br />  the bytes unless they become out of data.  The trick with making<br />  this work is validating each of the SWC based cached<br />  CompilationUnits at the beginning of each compilation.  When a SWC<br />  based CompilationUnit becomes obsolete or is removed from the<br />  library path, all the CompilationUnit's, which depended on it, are<br />  forced to be recompiled.<br /><br />  Note: bugs with the SWC reuse logic often show up as errors claiming<br />  that type foo is not an instance of type foo.  This most likely<br />  means that foo was reloaded, but something that depended on foo<br />  wasn't reloaded.  Please file bugs for any errors like this and give<br />  me a heads up.<br /><br />  Flex Builder has logic to take advantage of this change in the case<br />  of application compilations, but it will need to be updated to take<br />  advantage of SWC reuse in the case of library compilations.  The<br />  biggest benefit of this change will be seen when all the libraries<br />  and applications in a workspace share a SwcCache.<br /><br />  Updates to the performance testsuite to enable it to take advantage<br />  of these changes will follow.<br /><br />tests Passed: checkintests, performance testsuite, fcsh unit tests<br /><br />Needs QA: YES<br /><br />Needs DOC: NO<br /><br />API Change: Yes - a few changes to the OEM compiler API<br /><br />Reviewer: Pete and Darrell<br /><br />Code-level description of changes:<br /> <br />  modules/asc/src/java/macromedia/asc/util/ContextStatics.java<br /><br />    Added clearUserDefined(), which allows Flex to use one<br />    ContextStatics instance when compiling multiple libraries and<br />    applications.  If we didn't clear out the userDefined Map,<br />    definitions from one compilation could potentially spill over into<br />    others where they might not be defined or might be defined<br />    differently.<br /><br />  modules/compiler/src/java/flex2/tools/oem/Application.java<br />  modules/compiler/src/java/flex2/tools/oem/Library.java<br /><br />    Renamed instance variable "configuration" to "oemConfiguration".<br /><br />    Renamed method param "OEMConfiguration c" to "OEMConfiguration<br />    localOEMConfiguration".<br /><br />    Renamed local variable "OEMConfiguration c" to "OEMConfiguration<br />    tempOEMConfiguration".<br /><br />    Removed a bunch of duplicate code from recompile().<br /><br />    Added support for reporting the start and end of a "full" compile.<br />    Before full compiles were reported as "inactive".<br /><br />    Added support for using LibraryCache's new perCompileData<br />    variable.<br /><br />    Modified Library.link() to use a SwcDynamicArchive instead of a<br />    SwcWriteOnlyArchive when the file name is known.  This allows us<br />    to reuse the compilation units in the archive for subsequent<br />    compilations.<br /><br />  modules/compiler/src/java/flex2/tools/oem/LibraryCache.java<br /><br />    Added contextStatics variable and accessors.<br /><br />  modules/compiler/src/java/flex2/tools/oem/internal/OEMReport.java<br /><br />    Updated to leverage CompilationUnit.hasAssets() and to reflect<br />    change in type of CompilationUnit's inheritance, namespaces,<br />    types, and expressions.<br /><br />  modules/compiler/src/java/flex2/tools/oem/internal/OEMUtil.java<br /><br />    Modified areSwcFileChecksumsEqual() to ignore timestamp changes<br />    with catalog.xml and library.swf.  When we are reusing cached<br />    SWC's, the catalog.xml and library.swf are updated each time we<br />    save the SwcDynamicArchive, but we don't want to reload the SWC<br />    from disk, because all the compilation units represented by<br />    catalog.xml should be cached.  If any of the cached<br />    CompilationUnit's becomes out of data,<br />    CompilerAPI.validateCompilationUnits() will handle removing the<br />    cached CompilationUnit, which will cause it to be reloaded from<br />    disk.<br /><br />  modules/compiler/src/java/flex2/compiler/swc/SwcCache.java<br /><br />    Renamed "swcs" to "swcLRUCache" to reduce confusion with other<br />    variables named "swcs".<br /><br />    Added tracking of removed and updated cached Swc's.<br /><br />    Removed cleanExtraData().<br /><br />  modules/compiler/src/java/flex2/compiler/swc/SwcArchive.java<br /><br />    Added generics to getFiles().<br /><br />  modules/compiler/src/java/flex2/compiler/swc/SwcGroup.java<br /><br />    Added tracking of obsoleted scripts.<br /><br />    Updated updateMaps() to favor scripts with a cached modules/compiler/src/java/flex2/compiler/swc/SwcPathResolver.java<br /><br />    Updated resolve() to prevent resolving foo.swc$bar.css to<br />    blah.swc$bar.css, which was causing the Changed inheritance, namespaces, types, and expressions from a Set<br />    to a Map, so we could track the last modified time when the<br />    Sources were last used.  This allows us to track if they changed.<br /><br />    Made assets lazily created.<br /><br />    Removed "misc" context attribute usage.<br /><br />  modules/compiler/src/java/flex2/compiler/CompilerSwcContext.java<br /><br Significantly refactored validateCompilationUnits().  It now<br />    validates sources from the CompilerSwcContext and in the case of<br />    library compilations, it validates the included classes.  It also<br />    builds up a backwards dependency map, so we can remove all the<br />    dependencies when a source is removed.  This made the<br />    DependencyGraph usage unnecessary.  The DependencyGraph usage also<br />    happened to be flawed, because it really should have been looping<br />    each time a potential "type" or "expression" source was removed<br />    until no new sources were removed.  I actually tried implementing<br />    this and it was incredibly slow.<br /><br />    Added dependentFileModified() helper method.<br /><br />  modules/compiler/src/java/flex2/compiler/as3/reflect/NodeMagic.java<br /><br />    Removed out of date comment.<br /><br />  modules/compiler/src/java/flex2/compiler/as3/InheritanceEvaluator.java<br /><br />    Replaced use of MultiNameSet with HashSet<Name>.<br /><br />  modules/compiler/src/java/flex2/compiler/as3/binding/DataBindingExtension.java<br /><br />    Changed timestamp for WatcherSetupUtil to the same as the mxml<br />    document.  Now that we validate sources in the ResourceContainer,<br />    any changes of Bindable metadata in dependent sources will cause a<br />    recompile.  The use of System.currentTimeMillis() was a hack.<br /><br />  modules/compiler/src/java/flex2/compiler/css/StyleModule.vm<br /><br />    Removed unused import.<br /><br /> • Can i use my imac as a monitor for my macbook

I imac is no longer working for what I need it to anymore because I can no longer be updated. I have the last imac before the intel chip was added. Anyway I have a macbook now and I want to know if I can use the Imac as a monitor for my macbook or is this computer garbage now and I need to just go buy a real monitor? Thanks J.Storm

Use a product such as ScreenRecycler.

  • How do I use my iMac(late 2009) as a monitor for my MBP(2012) or my MBP(late 2010) without software?

I currently have a late 2009 iMac, a 2012 MBP, a mid 2010 MBP and a MinDisplay Port (MDP) male to male cable. I am trying to either use the iMac a second monitor for one of the MBPs or mirror the display.
The iMac has a MDP port and is running OS X 10.7.5 (Lion)
The MBP 2010 has a MDP port and is running OS X 10.8.4 (Mountain Lion)
The MBP 2012 has a Thunderbolt port and is running OS X 10.9 (Maverics)
When I connect the 2010 MBP to the iMac with the MDP cable the screen of the iMac goes black and the MBP flashes blue. I have been looking for a solution and I have tried:
Rebooting them in the order of: connecting the cable, turing on the MBP, then turing on the iMac
Whilst they are on simply plugging the cable between the two
Connecting them with the cable while they are on, then pressing cmd-f1 on the MBP
Connecting them with the cable while they are on, then pressing cmd-f1 on the iMac
Pressing cmd-f2 on the iMac, whilst there are connected, only toggles a black screen on the iMac
Pressing cmd-f2 on the MBP doesn't do anything
Every time I connect the MBP 2012 to the iMac with the MDP cable, the MBP screen goes black and the computor screen becomes unresponsive but the screen stays on and I have to reboot the MBP.
I will really appreciate anyone who has any information on this topic.
    Thanks

If the iMac is a 21-inch model, not without using a product such as ScreenRecycler over a network.

  • How do I use my late 2011 iMac ( with thunderbolt) as external monitor for laptop/Xbox or other device with hdmi as output.

May be this question has been asked thousand times. how do I use my mid 2011 iMac ( with thunderbolt) as external monitor for laptop/Xbox or other device with hdmi as output. if apple hasn't removed that feature and has just moved that functinoality to thunderbolt then how can I use it. currently there is no laptop available with thunderbolt output. no 3rd party converter available. whats the use of having feature on latest functionality if we cant use it. I wish they would have made one port has mini-dvi and other thunderbolt for backward compatibility untill some vendor comes up with converter.

    It Says :
Mac (21.5-inch, Mid 2011) and iMac (27-inch, Mid 2011) and later computers support Target Display Mode via Thunderbolt to Thunderbolt cable (2 m) when the source is another Thunderbolt-equipped computer.
Name one computer model/vendor which has thunderbolt as output for display + audio. this is so stupid to move to new technology without availbility of its compatible devices.

Unfortunately, that is not possible. The computer only can "output" your display image, it cannot "input" an image from an external computer and display it on your MacBook's retina display.
