Adding multiple plug ins in Elements 12?

Is there a way to add all my plug ins in PSE 12?  I tried using Edit, Preferences, plugins, but it will only add one plugin.  If I add another, the first one vanishes from the Filters menu.  I tried shutting PSE down and restarting after installing the first one, but that didn't help.  For example, I can add Noiseware, and it works fine.  But if I try to then add a Topaz plugin, Noiseware disappears and only the Topaz plugin is in the filters list.  Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

If you were already a PSE user try this:
From the Photoshop Elements Editor Start menu
          > preferences
         > plug-ins
Gray box opens up, tick the box for additional plug-ins folder and click choose. Navigate to folder containing plugins (in my case on             my mac I went to applications >PSE 11 folder > Support Files > Plug-ins.
Select Plug-Ins folder and hit ok.
          Restart PSE.
All my Plug-Ins were under filters when it opened back up.
Hope this helps.

  • Moving plug-ins from Elements to CS5

    Hello,
I just installed CS5 and have been using Elements 8, i had purchased the TopazLabs plug in package a few weeks ago and now i want them to work in my Photoshop CS5.  Can someone please tell me the steps to take to move or copy them into CS5, i am not 100% sure where they go.  I did see the plug in folder in CS5 in my "program file (x86) >Adobe>Adobe Photoshop CS5>Plug-Ins.  Is that the right path? Also, do i just dump the files in one by one or do they go into a specific folder once i am in the plig in folder itself.  I have 12 differen  folders within the Plug in file/folder.  I need some reassurance to make sure i am doing it correctly.  I dont want to mess anything up with CS5.  Thank you for any help you can provide.

Thank you very, very much for helping me out, i didnt even think about the fact that Elements plug ins may not even work with Photoshop jCS5 so thanks for setting me straight on that.  I really want those plug ins but ever since i installed CS5 i cant get my Photoshop Elements 8 program open, it opens and a split second later it shuts down  and have no idea why.  I was using Elememts that day that i installed CS5 so i know it worked prior to the install of cs5.  I am using windows 7 64bit.  I put a phone call into Adobe who said they would call me back in 8 min and that was at least 2 hrs ago.  I am not to computer literate so i dont dare start messing with files until i get instructions from someone who does know what there doing.
Also, in response to the question about how i got the Topaz plug ins into Elements, well, i installed like normal and then had to copy the file into the Elements folder, it worked perfectly, that was Topaz instructed people to do if they didnt show up when you ran the auto installer.  I will get ahold of topaz and see if there is anything I can do about "exchanging' my elements serial number for a CS serial number, its worth a try anyway becasue i just bought them and I love what they do.
thanks again to all of you who helped me out on this issue.

  • I am having problems adding plug ins from Elements 11 to 12.

When I go to preferences in 12, I check the box additional plugins.  I go out and find the folder and add it and click on OK, I close down Elements and then come back and my plug in is there.  Now I want to add another plug in and when I follow same scheme it eliminates the previous plug in that I added.  It is only allowing me one plug in.  What am I doing wrong?   thanks.

You want to put all your plug-ins under the same parent folder, then point PSE to that parent folder.

  • Can we install premiere pro Transition 3rd party plug-ins in Elements ?

Trying to figure out if we can installed 3rd party transitions plug-ins in Premiere elements 13 Mac.
    Like these from FXFactory
Plugins for Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, After Effects and Motion

The component files of the third party plugins are in:
    Local Drive\Library\Audio\Plug-Ins\Components
You can make a backup of a given component (say in a desktop folder) and replace the component with other version etc.
You can use [Pacifist|http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/mac/12743] as well to install/extract a component from a given installation pack etc.
Edit: Sorry Immo I duplicated your reply solutions hitting posting a few sec. later...

  • Multiple plug-ins in one file (CodeCarbonPowerPC)?

I'm trying to put 3 plug-ins in one file.
Very simple on Windows (3 PiPL resource blocks with different entrypoints).
    And don't worked on PowerPC:
CodeCarbonPowerPC(0,0,"") <-- what is last parameter (string)?
    Any example?
    Thanks,
    Ivan Kharin

Apologies for the confusion, that's a "custom" PiPL.r created some time ago before I saw the PS7 SDK, Adobe called it something different. You'll have to refer to the official SDK for the precise name but in other respects it's identical of course. I've never used the third parameter, but my v6 documentation describes it as follows:
    Pstring fEntryName
Pascal string used to lookup the address of the function
to call within the fragment. In order for the Code
Fragment Manager to find an entrypoint by name,
that name must be an exported symbol of the code
fragment. If NULL, the default entrypoint will be used.
fEntryName allows a single code fragment to contain
    more than one plug-in.
One day I mean to regularise my sources to match their official published selectors for Carbon CFM and Mach-O... The disparity is an artefact of the SDK's Iron Curtain period.

  • Raw Image Plug-Ins for Elements 12

I have Photoshop Elements 12 running on Windows 7 Home Premium, which I assume is 32 bit. I need to be able to edit RAW (NEFF format) image files from a Nikon D4s camera. I do not see a 32 bit version of Camera Raw 8.5, 8.4 or 8.3 that can handle this file type, and installing any version of Camera Raw does not work. I can bring in JPG files into the RAW editor, but that defeats the purpose of editing RAW images. This should be an easy download, but I have spent many hours trying to no avail. Any help that works would be appreciated.

    Hi Michel,
I should have thought about a DNG converter as I already had an older one for Olympus ORF files, although I also think Adobe should make their RAW file editor updates MUCH easier to find and install! Actually, it could be made trivial. I went around and around in circles for hours trying to find out how to update Elements 12, which I had just bought recently. If I pay for the disk, I should be able to search for "elements 12 camera raw update", find it in seconds and download it. After all those hours, I never did find a version of Camera Raw that would work on either of my two PC's. Anyway, thanks for the help. At least now I can convert to DNG and edit those.

  • Acrobat retains plug-ins after deletion

I have installed Acrobat Pro 8.1 and added upgrades for 8.1.1 and 8.1.2.
This is with Vista Home Premium.
I added some plug-ins eg pitstop and then uninstalled them. They are not in the plug-ins directory or on any drive, however Acrobat still has them working?
I also have a problem when I click help, I get no drop down and the program stops working?

    For info! Problem solved.
I have found the api Using advanced search method and ticking the box "Include non-indexed, hidden and system files" option.
    It found
    C:\Users\Ian\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 8.0\Acrobat\plug_ins\...
Now I do have a virtual machine loaded to run XP programs that fail in vista I must have once had acrobat on it with these plug-ins then I removed acrobat, so now when I look at it I see no acrobat and think it is clean, but there it is! Even now if I look at c:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 8.0\Acrobat\plug_ins in the XP virtual machine I see nothing infact there is no Acrobat 8 at all, but this file remains!
So If I go to vista, as me, delete that file when acrobat runs the plug-ins have gone.

  • How to mute all plug-ins?

    Hello guys,
yes I know....60 mouse klicks, done
Is there something I missed? Does logic have a "mute all plug-ins" or "mute all plug-ins except software synths" function??
I think it really shouldn't be a big problem to implement something like that (some daws have that feature).
Low-Latency mode can deactivate multiple plug-ins if needed, so it should also be possible manually, shouldn't it?
    Any idea,
    thanks Eddie

    Eddie,
As far as I know, this isn't available in Logic.
As a workaround, I would do this... save the song as "Song Title-no plugins".
Then, go to the mixer, drag your mouse across ALL tracks, so they are all selected. Now, when you remove any plug-in from the top insert location, all plug-ins inserted in that top location will be removed, from all tracks. Next, remove any plug-in from the second insert, and all plug-ins in that second insert location will be removed, etc...
Obviously, saving as a separate song eliminates the possibility of saving your original song without the plug-in loaded.
Logic 7 at least had "remove ALL plug-ins" from the Audio Configuration window. Although this is almost as quick.
So while it's not quite the answer you were looking for, it should help you achieve what you need to do, hopefully...

  • 3rd party AU plug ins vs Logic Plug ins

has any one got any suggestions of any 3rd party plug ins or instruments that compare or better the Logic ones, i am very happy indeed with what i have at the moment but feel some of the sounds i am getting from the synths are lacking a bit of warmth, maybe i need to dig a little deeper or maybe there are better things out there, obviously the ES2 is a killer piece of software but some of the pads that i am creating are not up to scratch. Is this just me? am i not adding enough plug ins to the synth or is it just not as deep as people say it is? i hear waves are a good too, discuss..............Thanks

    3rd party stuff eh?
Spectrsonics makes stellar AU plug ins. Can't wait for the aforementioned atmosphere to come out as UB this fall.
Also mentioned before, Reason is just a fun program that is very powerful and inspiring.
Odd that many people mentioned the NI products. I would, but after getting FM8, I just can't say I am an NI fan.
FM8 sound great! The software is powerfull, the UI is easy to use, the flexibility is enormous, but I can't recall all the setting of patches with Channel strip settings. I was quite disappointed as I wanted to Use FM8 to give me that DX-7 Rhodes sound to use for live gigs, but recalling a performance channel strip didn't load the envelopes, and the sound just didn't work. I emailed NI and asked what the deal was, and they told me it was a bug, sorry. The only workaround they could give me was to load the patch from FM8 it's self.
I still use FM8 for recordings, but never for live use. I also decided not to try any new NI products fearing more incompatibilities with how I work.
NI's stuff does sound great, but with tweaking I can get most of my other synths to match it.

  • I lost my filter plug ins when I install Elements 13.  If I choose one plug in in Preferences it installs it.  But if I try to choose another one it just replaces the first one.  How do I install multiple filter plug ins?

I lost my filter plug ins when I installed Elements 13, i.e. Topaz Labs, Nik.  If  choose one plugin in preferences it will add it to the filter list.  But if I try to add another filter it just replaces the first one.
How can I get my multiple plugins back?

Sorry to jump on this thread, but it seems like I have a similar problem. Oh. BTW, Happy New Year!
I have filters from Topaz, Imagenomic, ePaperPress, and Redfield. In the past when a new version of PSE came out, I just copied and pasted the folders w/ the ".8bf" files into the Plug-Ins folder of the new version. This time it didn't work.
I have been searching for a clue. I came across a confusing comment in a post from some Adobe gal [that has been linked multiple times. It said:
"Please click on Photoshop Elements in the top left corner and select 'Preferences'." The confusing thing about this is that I have no "Photoshop Elements" in the top left corner! As this is the first step, I'm stuck there...
Here is what I see in the upper-left corner:
When I click on the Elements 13 Logo, I get a small drop-down menu that has no "Preferences" option. I have versions of PSE back to 10 and none of them have "Photoshop Elements" in the top-left corner.
    BTW, I'm running Win 7 Home 64.
I noticed that PSE 13 loaded into my Program Files folder, whereas all previous versions went to my Program Files (x86) folder. That indicates that 13 is running as a 64-bit app? Does that require different plugins?

  • Adding Plug ins/Filters to Elements 9

I have a filter that I want to install into the Elements program.  Every time I attempt to put the new filter into the menu, it says it has been completed but I am unable to see the filter. Here are the steps I have done.
The downloaded files are  .zip. Double click on the zip file to extract the installers.
Double click on the extracted  exe to start the installer.
Use the Browse button to aim the  files at the Program Files/Adobe/ Photoshop  Elements 9/Plug-ins/Filters directory.
After installation open  Photoshop.[Photoshop only polls the Filters directory on start up. If you added  the filters while Photoshop was up, it wouldn't see the new filter]. Now open an  RGB file and look for your filter in the Filters Menu under the name of the new filter.
    Any ideas?

Problems with mscv80.dll can be difficult to solve because in Vista and Win7 the DLL is considered a "System" file and access to it is tightly controlled.  The easiest thing is to let Win7 do the repair by running the System File Check utility:
    Close all programs.
Go to your "Start" menu, click on "All Programs", select the "Accessories" folder, and right-click on "Command Prompt".
Choose "Run as Administrator" from its context menu.
Enter the Administrator's password when prompted, to open a command prompt window with elevated privileges.
Type the following at the command prompt and hit Enter:
              sfc /scannow
The SFC utility will tell you it's checking the system files and that the process will take some time.  Be patient.  When it's finished, it will tell you whether it found and fixed any files.  N.B.:  Even if the utility reports that it found nothing to repair, it really did, so close the command prompt and reboot your computer.

    Hi,
This is a problem that is not made clear in the note. What is probably happening here is that both plugins are being fired when a user logs in. OID will only read the value returned from the final plugin to fire. This can be a problem if the user authenticates correctly against the first plug-in but fails on the second. This is entirely legitimate as this note tells you to configure this way but the OID only observes the final result. The note doesn't tell us this.
    Here's an example:
We've two OID User users in different containers: cn=Al is in container cn=usersA,dc=oracle,dc=com and cn=BOB is in container cn=usersB,dc=oracle,dc=com.
We have two plugins: pluginA and PluginB. Installed in that order.
When Al logs in the two plugins fire. pluginA finds Al and returns a true, but then pluginB fires and returns a false undoing the good result. OID only accepts the final answer and so rejects the user. When Bob logins in both plugins fire again but it's the second plugin that returns the answer again. This is true and bob gets in.
There's a couple of ways around this and one of the more effective ways is to associate the plugin with the dn. So in our example, we associate the pluginA to fire only for the dn cn=usersA,dc=oracle,dc=com and pluginB only to fire when a user is in cn=usersB,dc=oracle,dc=com. This gets around the problem of mulitple plugins firing and giving conflicting answers as the appropriate plugin only fires once.
I've used this solution in a realtime environment when connecting and provisioning multiple ADs into one OID and found it to be extremely effective.
Another solution is to associate the plugins with groups.
Both of these options may be configured easily by modifying the plugin properties in ODM. Don't forget to restart OID after you've made the changes.
    HTH!
    Phil.

  • Gold standard plug ins or collections for elements 9?

One more quick question, t  feel like I've already posted too many questions until I know enough to  start contributing back to the community...
Looking to get some plug ins for ps/premiere elements 9...
    A) Photoshop elements 9:
1 Anyone know of any GREAT comparisons/ buyers guides pitting similar plug ins against each other (maybe even like collections with each title compared)
1b) Any opinions on Current/Latest 'Gold Standard' tools (head and shoulders above similar titles - kinda industry/user consensous choise of BEST, beyond individual preference even?)
    2) Are they  any HDR plug ins that work with photoshop elements 9 - if so, is there 1  or 2 'Gold Standard' titles that are heads and shoulders above the rest
if not for elements are there any standalone programs for HDR?
2b) Right now (till I build budget back after buying software and plug ins) my camera doesn't shoot RAW, does HDR even work with jpeg sources?
Or does HDR even work with elements? Have to go to ps cs5 for that?
    B) Premiere Elements 9:
    1) Same as photoshop elements above, are there any 'Gold Standard' Plug in or stock content, ect collections way better than the rest?
    2) What type of and which titles would be great bets to add to a beginners set of video editing tools?
    ? Co pilot,(what/which) ect...?
Sorry if dragging on, I've been at this for almost 30 hours, trying to gey everything setup and learning how/what to use - Time for BED!
    THANKS!

  • Problem with plug-ins in Photoshop Elements 10

I imported plug-ins from CS3 to Photoshop Elements 10 plug-ins folder.  Why do othey not show up in Filters in Photoshop Elements 10?

Just as a guess... they are not compatible... you need plugins that are compatible with the program you are using, not something written for a different program
