Adding music to a slide show in Lightroom 5

I have created a slideshow with Lightroom 5 that has 807 photos.  The duration of the slide show is 1 hour, 33 minutes.  When I try to add music in LR 5, it will allow only one song.  How do I add music that will cover the entire slide show?

Lightroom only allows for one music file. If you want a longer file, you'll have to splice together your music files in another application (such as Audition) and use that larger file in Lightroom.

  • Problem with adding music to a slide show

I am trying to add add'l music to a slide show in Elements 9.  The first songs added easily.  I am now getting a message that the "codec" is insufficient.  There does not seem to be any difference in the properties of the songs that are being rejected and the songs that loaded.  How do I correct this to add the MP3 songs?

Thanks for your response. In answer to your questions:
    1. What is PRE?
    2. mpeg is not a choice on my version of pse7. Only mp3, wav, wma and ac3.

  • Adding music to a slide show from Itunes

How do i add music to a slide show from itunes? When i go into the Itunes folder I get all the way to where the music file should be and it says there are no files found.

    Hi Rodney,
    Here's what you do.
When you click on music and the window opens, click on your library then look at the bottom of the window where you will see a small clear dot - click and drag this up and voila - there's the music.
A very annoying feature that iPhoto hides this section by default.

  • Adding music to my slide show

How do I download music (no video) from the internet and save it on my slide show?  Thanks in advance.

If you want familiar music you have to purchase files from Amazon or iTunes. If you do a Google search for free production music, or similar, you can probably find some free stuff that you can use. I have played around a little bit with some of those, but I haven't really found much that I like. You can also use music from your own CD collection.

  • Adding music to a slide show

We have made a large slide show with over 300 photos. We arranged a play list in itunes of six songs. The problem seems that when we chose the playlist, it only plays the last song on the list of six over and over. We would like it to play the list ( all 6 songs) and in the same order placed on the list. Any suggestions.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Your thread got hijacked so I'll try to help you the best that I can. Are any of those tracks from the iTMS? If so then you should be running the latest Quicktime version so that they will be accessable to the other iApps. Give that a try and see it it helps.
As a test create another test slideshow and use just one track, one of those that don't play in your big slideshow. If it doesn't play in the new slideshow then the previous suggestion may be barking up the right tree.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

  • Multiple music tracks on a slide show in Lightroom

I asked at Photoshop World this month whether or not Adobe has included the ability to place more than one track of music in a slide show. Unfortunately, this is not possible with the latest release of LR5. However, I would find this incredibly useful for longer slideshows without having to resort to a third party software. Is there any plan to do this in the near future?

Your preaching to the converted - I've p...d and moaned about the half baked slideshow module for years. And whilst the Lr team have added features over this period they've generally been to satisfy folk more intertested in video output than fixing the basics.

  • Adding sequential numbers to a slide show using Lightroom 4.4?

How do you add sequential numbers to a slide show using Lightroom 4.4? I want images to show sequentially with each having a specific number such as 1 of 25, 2 of 25, 3 of 25 and so on. Please advise.

Sorry, that computer is not connected to the internet right now- husband is using wifi to watch World Cup. Here's a picture from my phone. If it's too hard to read I can take a screen shot in an hour or so.
Thank you both in advance for your help.

  • I want to add music to a slide show

I want to add music to a slide show but only let music play for a certain number or slides then a different song for the next set of slides...how do i do this?

    Hello Auchattie
What are you using to create the slideshow? If you have iMovie for your iPhone then you can add different music tracks for specific parts for the photos that you added for the slideshow. Check out the page below as it is the user guide to do create a slideshow as well as adding different songs and adjusting it to only play a small part.

When trying to add music to a slide show from my PC to TV through Apple Tv the photos are fine but I get an error message that says the music cannot be downloaded.

Because the location for each song in your library is on your hard drive.  If the hard drive isn't there, how can iTunes play it?
You'll have to move/copy the music from your hard drive to your computer's hard drive.
Basically, EASIEST way to do all this, if you don't care about your play counts, etc...
-Delete EVERYTHING from iTunes, so that your library is now empty.
-Go to "Advanced" inside of the "Preferences" window, found in the "Edit" drop-down.  You can also access Preferences by pressing Ctrl+, (Press Ctrl and the comma key)
-Change your iTunes Media Folder Location to something simple, but on your computer. I use C:/iTunes.  Make sure "Keep iTunes Media Folder Organized" and "Copy files to...." are both checked.  You can close Preferences now.
-Now, drag and drop your music from your hard drive into your iTunes library.  iTunes will automatically add the music to your library, as you would expect, and also creates a copy of each file to place into that iTunes Media Folder you just created.
    Shouldn't have any more problems...

  • I am trying to add music to my slide show and I get this error:

I am trying to add music to my slide show and I get this error:  The selected file cannot be played because your system does not have the required compressor/decompressor (codec) installed.  I went to the Adobe site and downloaded a codec program, and restarted but still got the same error.  Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you - I followed the instructions attached to your response, and I deleted the artwork from the three songs that I want to use, however, when I drag them into Photoshop I am still getting the same error message.  I also don't see an option to convert the song to an MP3.  I tried going to File and Get Info, and there isn't an option.  I also tried right click on the song, but didn't see anything there either...?

  • Music with a slide show

In I tunes, I croped some song to start at a particular location. This works fine in Itunes. However, when I use this music for a slide show in Iphoto, it plays the entire song insted of starting at the cropped point. Why?, and how do I fix it?

    Alan:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. The iTunes edits work only for iTunes. To trim a track in any way you'll need to do it with another application. You can do it in Garageband. I use the 3rd party editor Amadeus Pro. There are some freeware editors like Audacity. With Amadeus I can open a track select that portion I want to use and copy to a new file and then save. I do that for iDVD slideshows when I want to set the music for a specific total time for the number of slides that I've selected. Works very nicely. IMO Garageband is overkill for simple editing and I don't have it installed.
Another way to achieve what you want is to export the slideshow without music and edit it in iMovie. There you can add the audio tracks, trim, overlap, etc. and then save the composite movie file.

I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Access my itunes library to add music to a slide show in iPhoto

I can't seem to be able to add music to a slide show in iphoto, I shoud be able to access playlist in itunes but it doesn't seem to work.  I have tried the fix on help but still not working.  Any thoughts?

I'm experiencing the same problem with both iPhoto & Aperture.
Aperture, iPhoto and iTunes versions are up-to-date as of April 13/13.
I've setup a new iTunes Library. Did not rectify the problem.
I've created a new iPhoto Library. Did not rectify the problem.
In Aperture, where the problem first appeared, I have deleted preferences, which did not correct the problem.
I then did a full rebuild of the database but the problem still exists.
    Somewhat baffled!

  • No Music allocation to slide show

After I installed iPhoto 11 I cannot allocate background music to a slide show.
The slide show itself comes up very, very slow.
Any idea what I should do??

    1. Lots of people report having "up-to-date" systems and software. You would be amazed what some folks consider "up-to-date" so best to tell is the actual versions you have.
    2. At a guess:
In iTunes go File -> Library -> Organise Library -> Reorganise Library.
    Then quit and restart iPhoto.
Credit to user keysandfood who figured that one out.
I have no idea what this means:
A picture MPEG and not a check box by the titles

  • PSE12  problem adding audio media to slide show

I have followed the instructions but can't get the music to show up in the audio elements organizer..

    Hi James:
    Welcome to discussions.
You can get the songs you rip from your CD to export into iTunes by the following:
    1. iTunes - Pref - Advanced - Import. Change import using to MP3.
Now all new songs you rip from CD will export with iPhoto
To correct those songs already in iTunes so they will export, do the following:
    1. highlight song in iTunes Library
    2. Toolbar go to Advanced - Click Convert Selection to MP3
3.Now you will have a duplicate of that song in your library. The one just added that you converted, add MP3 to title
4.Use MP3 song in your slide show.
    5. Audio should export with photos.
Post back and let me know if this works for you. It does for me. You cannot change songs imported from iTunes this way; it will only work on songs from your CD. We will have to wait for updates for a permanent fix.
    Good luck-

  • Music Trouble with Slide Show

I have used the slide show many times and have always had success with adding music from iTunes easily.
I have recently upgraded with the software update and included in that update was an iTunes update. I also updated the iPhoto recently, since creating the last slide show.
Today I have been trying to create a new slide show and add some music that I added to iTunes specifically for the slide show. All I get is a spinning disk and no response in iPhoto. The computer is not 'frozen' and I can access and use other applications while the disk spins in iPhoto, but iPhoto is stalled. I have had to force quit several times.
Any ideas? The iPhoto is 4.0.3 and the iTunes is 5.0.1. I am running on an eMac from last year.
    Thanks.

It may mean that there's another preference file in your User Preferences folder that is incompatible with iPhoto. I ran across this troubleshooting method a while back.
    Trouble Shooting Preferences
Go to HD/Users/Your_name/Library. Move the Prefs folder (in its entirety) to the desktop. Start iPhoto. Determine if problem is fixed.
If the problem IS fixed, then go to the new Prefs folder that the OS will have created and open it up. Except for those items that are obviously not related, move the contents to the old Prefs folder on the desktop, replacing what had been there. When in doubt, move the item. The worst thing that can happen is a harmless "alert" message. Then, trash what remains of the new folder. Finally, move the old (but modified) Prefs folder back to the library.
If the problem is NOT fixed, trash the new Prefs folder and move the old one back to its original location.
Otherwise you might want to reinstall the 10.3.9 COMBO updater followed by a permissions repair and reinstall iPhoto 4 from scratch and update it. If you do reinstall V4 you'll have to delete the current application and all files with "iPhoto" in the file name that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder.
