Adding my Win XP-32-SP device icc/icm color profiles for dropdown PSE 10

In the printer color management I only see choices for color spaces and generic devices. I do not see my printer profiles, some custom, in the list. All are registered properly in Win color management for the the proper devices - display and printers.
My other apps see these just fine. How do I these into PSE 10 for selecting in the dropdown lists.
I am running the trial 10.0, Is there a special folder for these in PSE 10.0?

I believe they should go here on windows XP:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\color
The easiest way is to just right click on the profile and choose install profile and restart elements if it's running while doing this.

  • ICC color profile for Apple iPod (5th Gen)

    Hello,

The iPod does not use ICC profiles.
What are you trying to do?

  • ICC working color space for the System?

(I posted this in another area but I did not get any replies, so I'm trying here)
Hey, any color management pros out there...
What is the ICC color space of the OS itself? Is it the calibrated monitor profile I'm using?
For example, let's say I'm working in an app. that doesn't use any color management. By default is that color space the app is using by default the ICC profile of the calibrated monitor profile?
I'm specifically wondering in regards to rendering in 3d applications, such as, Lightwave, Strata3d, etc. These apps. don't save ICC profiles with the final rendered files. Are these files essentially in the Monitor space then? This is my guess, and has proven to be so in my tests, but I want to hear what other people think/know...
    thanks!
    Jeff

What is the ICC color space of the OS itself? Is it
the calibrated monitor profile I'm using?
As Ned said, the OS doesn't have an ICC profile. Profiles describe the properties of image input or output devices. They tell which colour an output device will display when sent a certain RGB value, or which RGB value an input device will return when it sees a certain colour.
Colour space and profile are basically synonymous, a colour space is the range of colours a device can produce or see, as described by its ICC profile.
For example, let's say I'm working in an app. that
doesn't use any color management. By default is that
color space the app is using by default the ICC
profile of the calibrated monitor profile?
No, if the app doesn't use colour management it is oblivious to colour profiles. It will simply throw the RGB values at the output device as they are.
I'm specifically wondering in regards to rendering in
3d applications, such as, Lightwave, Strata3d, etc.
Don't know these two, so can't comment.
These apps. don't save ICC profiles with the final
rendered files. Are these files essentially in the
    Monitor space then?
Strictly speaking, no. You will get whatever the monitor or printer make of the RGB values. However, most apps produce/expect RGB values that look reasonably correct on sRGB monitors, for historical reasons. Hence, even on systems without colour management (or when using apps that aren't CM aware) you can calibrate your monitor to mimick sRGB behaviour (using the on-screen menu) and get reasonable results. Most good CRT monitors come pretty close to sRGB out of the box.
    Cheers
    Steffen.

  • Fujifilm Frontier ICC color profiles wont work on Mac

Downloaded the Fujifilm crystal archive ICC color profile for the Fuji Frontier minilab. This is for having my photo's printed through an online service that uses the Fuji Frontier and the crystal archive paper. I place the color profile that I downloaded in the System/Library/ Profile map as instructed. I also have my other color profiles in there. Then when I go to System Preferences/Color and want to select the profile I have just added it is not there. All my other color profiles are there but not the Fuji color profile. Anybody know why?
    Help appreciated.
    Thanks
    Fred

What a dumbo I am.I did not realize that this is not a profile for monitors but for paper.

  • Searching for a monitor icc profile for a Satellite M60-139

    i'm a grafic-designer useing a Satellite M60-139 - and therefor i need a color-profile for my Satellite M60-139-display - has anybody an idea where from i can get one?

    Hi,
From what I understand, you do not need to download or install any color profiles. It is exactly what the name implies, a profile. One you create and save on your computer. It can also be used to set different color profiles for different monitors. If you right click desktop, and then select the tab on the far right, then click advanced. Under advanced go to color management, and then click add, at which point it will give you a list of predefined color profiles. You can select the one closest to what you need and modify it to your specifications, and then save it. I hope this helps, if not, I can google around and see if there are any predifined on the internet to download, but I found none so far. Let me know how it goes.
Googling around, I found this website with some ICC's you can download. I hope you find the one you need.

  • Icc profiles for HP photopapers

I have a Photosmart D7260 printer with HP Advanced and HP Premium Plus photopaper but the prints are always too dark.  I'm trying to get better colour rendition in prints and I'm exploring letting Photoshop Elements 8 control print output, but I need to download the icc profiles for these papers. I can't find them on the HP site.  Please avoid overly technical answers please.

  • Early and late binding workflows in ICC based color management

    Hi all!
I'm a graphic design student at Reading Uni in the UK, and I'm writing my BA dissertation on early and late binding workflows in ICC based color management for print production. I'm intending to write to a graphic designer audience from a designer's point of view. Please do comment here if you have anything to say on this topic, or you can point me to the right direction. I'm also looking for studios where I could conduct my case studies who employ early, medium or late binding workflows.
    Thank you.

Will your paper have a title like  "Color Management is Fun and Easy" or "The Fiasco of Color Management"?
Notice that in the past week you and I are the only posts on this forum! This is the Color Management forum on Adobe's website. Shouldn't it be really busy?
It appears, that even after nearly ten years  I can't remember when color management first began to appear in prepress software), the industry has not embraced color management.
The promise of color management since I can remember was  that we could make color documents and not need to know how they would be printed. In other words a late binding workflow; that latest possible, just before making the plates or screens or engravings, etc. After forty hours of reading on the net and testing I am almost positive this is impossible if Illustrator is in the workflow.
Illustrator documents must be either RGB or CMYK not both. So if there are any colors that need to be preserved as CMYK (like 100 K black) you must work in CMYK meaning a mid binding color management workflow. The only thing I can think of is to find, or make, the widest gamut CMYK profile so that the fewest colors are hacked off.
But really how can this all be so messed up? What good reason could Adobe have for doing this? (I can think of several but they all contridict themselves.)
I preped some files the other day that were going to a printer I wasn't familiar with; one of the premium houses here in my area. I called them and asked how they wanted the files sent to them. I was hoping they had profiles for me or would spec some kind of PDF/x document that they would handle. No they wanted the source files and when I asked do you want the images in RGB then said, "No." So I asked which profile did they want me to use to convert to CMYK and the answer was, "What do you mean?" I said which CMYK do you want? The answer was, "The one everybody uses." I used SWOP and sighed.
IF I'M WRONG I would love to hear about it.
    Good luck

Can the Apple TV be added to I-tunes as a device?

    Another question?
I rented a movie on the Apple TV.
I have 10 MBPS service and it would not down load.
Never got to see the movie on the Apple TV.
Later I tried to watch the movie on my PC though I-Tunes.
There was no play button to play the rented movie .
Yet when I tried to rent it again I-Tunes told that I had already rented the movie
And asked me if I was sure I wanted to rent again.
Of course no, it told the just play the movie by clicking the play button.
However, there is no play button on I-Tunes screen.
    I am really frustrated! !

  • Smart Recorder - Audigy 2 ZS - Win 7 - "no audio device available"

LSmart Recorder - Audigy 2 ZS - Win 7 - "no audio device available"nI've got Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and a Creative Audigy 2 ZS. They've worked fine together, but I recently tried to install the programs that come on the CD and I can't get Smart Recorder to work.
It has a message saying "There is no audio device available on the system. The application will now close."? I checked my control panel and it definitely shows a my Audigy 2.
I found an old post that suggested using the CTZAPXX.EXE on the CD, but it didn't do anything. I watched the CPU go to 50% usage, but nothing happened for minutes. (http://forums.creative.com/t5/Sound-Blaster/Speaker-settings/m-p/40229)
How can I fix this problem with Smart Recorder?

  • Icc profile for deskjet 959c

Is it possible to use another printer's ICC profile for lightroom? It seems that there is none for the above printer -- too old probably.

Things went allright until point no. 9 in Step 2.
When the installation is complete, a message displays on the computer stating that the product was added successfully did not appear. However, the printer 990c appeared in the list of printers.
After connecting the USB cable to the computer,  Device driver software was not successfully installed   window did not open.
However, I decided to continue with step 3. But Printer properties --> Ports --> Drop down menu did not show USB nor DOT4.

  • ICC profile for images

I have a basic question about color profiles.
I set the color profile Adobe RGB (1998) for PS by default.
I work on images mostly and my question ist how to save JPG and other files, if with added ICC Adobe RGB (1998) or not?
    For example:
My edited image will be published on the web. Has added color profile influence on displayed colors on the websites? Or will the computer screens display sRGB by default and the added color profile does not affect displayed colors?
And for lab should be Adobe RGB (1998) OK, but I should inform me by lab staff, is not it?
    Thank you for explanation.

Yes, absolutely the color space influences web display - SOMETIMES.  Internet Explorer ALWAYS assumes the color space is sRGB (the windows default for non-color-managed applications), while other browsers such as Safari will honor an embedded color profile.  Thus an image tagged with a color space other than sRGB will be INCONSISTENT between different browsers, and inconsistent is not what you want.
Specifically, an Adobe RGB image will look dull and lifeless in Internet Explorer, with particularly muted reds.
Do you *know* why you want to use Adobe RGB in the first place?
If you're not sure, and if your primary output is web publishing, I might suggest setting your preferred working space to sRGB, as that is the one and only color profile that will yield the greatest consistency across all web browsers.  Working with sRGB space, by default, gives you more chance of being correct if you happen to use File - Save As instead of File - Save For Web & Devices.
I also suggest checking the checkboxes that warn you if you're opening/pasting an image that isn't in your preferred color space.  That helps prevent mistakes.

  • IBM Device Developer and Personal Profile

    Hi,
There are two workarounds for Running Personal Profile on IBM Websphere Studio Device Developer 5.5 ...
    1) When adding a build from the build wizard, deselect the check boxes for "Java libraries not to include in jxe/jar file" on the Jxelink options page of the wizard. This will include all of the necessary Java(tm) library class in the JXE.
    2) Add the following VM arguments in the Arguments tab of the launch configuration:
    -Xbootclasspath:C:\wsdd\wsdd5.0\ive\runtimes\common\ive\lib\jclFoundation\classes.zip;C:\wsdd\wsdd5.0\ive\runtimes\common\ive\lib\jclFoundation\locale.zip;C:\wsdd\wsdd5.0\ive\runtimes\common\ive\lib\charconv.zip;C:\wsdd\wsdd5.0\ive\runtimes\common\ive\lib\jclPPro\ppro-ui-win.zip -jcl:foun
BUT THE Problem is still there....
help me if anyone can ??? Thnx a lot

    Hi,
Click on classpath In configuration wirzard and uncheck the default class path and add the ppro-ui-win.zip using Add external jars/jxes button...
    it working fine....

    1. Yes, it is.
    2. You may be able to use the same address by adding a plussed suffix to it, such as [email protected] If that doesn't work, create separate emails.
