Adding Narration  in PPro CS3

I do not seem to see a narration button or obvious command sequence to initiate adding voice narration using PPro CS3.
Perhaps I am just not seeing the icon button for adding to a project. The help files do not describe how to add narration either. Strange, since a narration button is prominent in Premiere Elements 3.0 which I used prior to getting Production premium.
Thanks for your guidance.

  • PPro CS3 fails to read Meta data

PPro CS3 fails to read Meta data in some files i have imported. It fails to read the start of the timecode and the tape name:
Files imported into PPro CS3: http://web.comhem.se/averdahl/pproCS3_meta.png
The same files imported into PPro 1.5: http://web.comhem.se/averdahl/ppro15_meta.png
The first two clips are captured in PPro 2.0, may 2006, and the rest is captured in PPro CS3, august 2007. I have then used the Split function in Scenalyzer Live to split the captured material into smaller clips. I added the Tape Name in Scenayzer Live.
The Meta data, timecode and tape name, can be read in Scenalyzer Live, Adobe Bridge 2.10.100 and PPro 1.5 but PPro CS3 refuses to read some of it. I have not PPro 2.0 installed right now but will give it a shot later. I have deleted Media Cache Database and reimported the clips in CS3 to no avail. I can create a new Project and import the files with the same reults, some meta data is skipped, so the Project itself is ok.
Do you know why this happens? Does it happen to anyone else? Do anyone have a solution?
    /Roger

Make sure that the file has a .html or another known file extension to make sure that the server recognizes it as an HTML file.
The server may send unknown files automatically as text plain.

  • Crash PPro CS3 when launching AME

PProCS3 crashes with "Sorry, serious problem" box, when trying to export sequence through Adobe Media Encoder. Same happended with CS4, so we decided to downgrade back to CS3.
We've uninstalled/cleanuped everything Adobe related and done fresh install of PPro CS3 on following workstation:
    Intel Core i7 920, 6Gb RAM,
    WinXPPro x64, SP2, DX9,
    nVidia Quadro FX1800, 768Mb RAM, dr.v. 6.14.11.8267,
    Latest K-Lite and QT drivers.
sherlock.exe shows "known false positives" - H.264/AVC, MPEG. (are they really so false?)
dxDiag.exe passed perfectly, however Windows Error Reporting displays a number of identical entries:
    "AppErr adobe_media_encoder.exe <ver>, faulting module winmediaopwriter.vwr <ver>, fault address 0x0002934d;&#x000d;&#x000a;"
another computer (Intel P4, 512Mb RAM), runs PProCS3 and exports all and everything (except Encore). I even  copied all those .ax and .dll files to i7's PPro with no change in its crashing.
reinstalled suite and QT already several times in different combos - no progress.
tired and no idea what to do next.
please, can anyone suggest any solution?.
P.S. Crash also happens, when in AfterEffects trying to set output format to MPEG/H.264

Cannot describe my feelings, but yes I did uninstall KLite with no change - crashed like before.
And then I recalled someone in forums sugesting to disable modules on crashy startup sequence (we have experienced this with CS4)..
on last resort I decided to disable that winMediOPWriter.vwr and couldnt believe myself when AME window dialog appeared.. I expected to PPro crash on encoding, but NO - IT WORKS WORKS WORKS!! (at least DV-AVI, MPEG1 and MPEG2).
Similar solution ALSO worked for After Effects, still I don't know what those modules are intended to do. Could anyone tell?
Tomorrow I'll check other formats and compatibility with other CS3 modules, like Encore.. or even K-Lite pack.
Thank you all for your will to help and I hope my experience will save someones hours, days, weeks and nerves..

  • Adding MP3 in Dreamweaver CS3

    Hi,
I am new to this forum but I really need some help.
I am trying to link some mp3s onto my website using Dreamweaver CS3. I have tried two options:
    Using a Flash button
    For example: <a href="../music/track.mp3">Services</a>
Both instances do play the mp3 but they both open in a new window. They both open Windows Media Player.
Is there anyway I can press the play button without opening a new windows? I just want to be able to stop, play, pause, etc. just from that button.
Didn't consider embedding the files because I'll have a number of them a page.
    Any help?

    Thanks a million.

Get Wimpy MP3 Player.  A single, Flash based, streaming media player can handle all your audio files from a playlist. Easy to set-up, dirt simple to add or remove media files later.

  • PPro CS3 not opening

For some reason, the PPro CS3 doesn't load.  I see it loading in the box in the middle, but then it just blinks and refuses to open.  Any ideas?  It was working fine a day ago.  I have the CS3 suite and the rest of the applications open fine.

This ARTICLE might help you to help us.
This ARTICLE might help you get some clues on why your program/system crashes.
Also, think back to what might have changed. As Harm points out - something has.
I'd also look into all video and audio drivers and update those. Even a simple OS update can make those obsolete instantly.
    Good luck,

  • Can't install PPro CS3 on new computer

After doing previous research it appeared that PPro CS3 (and the rest of the Production Premium Suite could be installed on a 64 bit machine.
I attempted to install Production Premium (but only selected PPro, AE, Soundbooth and Encore) and got an error message after all 4 discs were completed as instructed in the installer.  The error may have to do with the fact that I installed a download version of Design Premium CS4 a few weeks ago. The download was made to my desktop.  The installation was then directed to the C drive. After the install was complete, I deleted the download file since I did not want a 500MB file on my desktop.
The CS4 programs all seem to work fine. However, when I tried to install the CS3 Production Premium programs,  I got a lengthy dialog box of the errors which referenced missing files that the installer identified as being on my desktop.
Is there a way to install Production Premium CS3 successfully on a 64 bit machine given these conditions?
    Many thanks.

  • Exporting to encore dvd with trial version of PPro CS3

    My question:
Are we supposed to be able to use Encore DVD with the trial version of PPro CS3?
If so, then what are the proper steps?
    Background:
i have downloaded a trial version of PPro CS3. I have wanted to check out the Encore DVD maker that now is included with the PPro. However, when i attempt to export a timeline to Encore, the 'export to encore' is not active. In other words, i see the words 'export to encore' but they are faded and thus the link to it is 'dead'.

Trial does not with any flavor of MPEG due to license restrictions
You may import-edit-export DV AVI type 2
Encore is not activated until you pay and convert the demo to real

  • Can Ppro CS3 projects be imported by Media Encoder CS4

    Hello:
I have Ppro CS3. I also have the Design Suite CS4.  I would like to render out Ppro CS3 sequences or projects into F4V files in Media Encoder CS4.
Does anyone know if this is possible?  When I select "add Premiere sequence" in Media Encoder CS4 and find the Ppro project in the file tree Media Encoder hangs just upon selecting the Premiere project without even attempting to add to the render queue.  I am not sure if this is because CS3 project are incompatible, or for some other reason. As mentioned, Media Encoder CS4 hands as soon as the Premiere project is clicked to selected and before "ADD" is clicked to add to the render queue.
Anyone come across this problem?  Is it fixable, or are Ppro CS3 projects just incompatible with Media Encoder CS4.
    Thanks.
    Jeff

    I appreciate the reply.
However, unfortunately, I do not have Premiere Pro CS4.  This is why I am trying to export to Media Encoder CS4. I own the Design Premium CS4 suite which has Media Encoder CS4 version built in.
Media Encoder actually is a stand alone product.  When you bring the program up, It has import options for the files you wish to encode.  One of the options is to import a PPro sequence.  However, when searching the system for Sequences, I could only figure out how to get to the Pproj files.
Documentation appears to indicate the Pproj files are compatible with Media Encoder.  However, when I droped in the Pproj file from Premiere Pro CS3, I got a message that it was not a compatible file (message text may not have been that exact statement).
This is why I was curious to see if there is a version compatibility issue, or if someone can tell me how to other render out of Premiere CS3 into the Media Encoder version that comes with CS4 suites.
    Thanks.

  • How do I refresh after changing Photoshop file/AE file in PPRO cs3?

    Hi all,
When I import a photoshop file to PPRO CS3 using AE/Photoshop CS3 everything is ok, but if I change the file (in PS or AE) I cannot see the updated file in PPRO, even though I did saved it (in AE/PS). Furthermore, I can see the new updated version of the file in the source window, but not in the monitor window, where I see the old version. Strange but true.
It seems that if I had like a refresh button it would be great idea...
    Any ideas?
    Roy

Did you use the "Edit Original" (Can't remember exact name) Dynamic Link function in Premiere Pro to fire up Photoshop to edit the Photoshop file?
(I think you select the Photoshop file in PPro and press ctl+e)

  • Minimum steps of conversion from YouTube to PPro CS3

I have PPro CS3 on Windows XP.  I also have AE CS4, if it would be of any use for this problem.
I got permission from an owner of some YouTube video clips to use them in my video - I normally never do this (I'm very picky about using my own prosumer gear to shoot all my stuff), but I was desperate for certain footage.  Now I'm trying to keep as much of the quality as I can while converting it to the format that PPro uses.  So far I can't figure out how to do it in less than four conversions to get this ultimately onto DVD - there must be a better way!
The original video is 448x336 (a weird size, I know, but it's 300fps shot by a Sanyo Xanti).  The only program I found to get it off YouTube was something aptly called FreeYouTubeDownload.  The choices it has for saving non-HD video are h.264/FLV, h.264/MP4, or MPEG4/AVI, none of which can be imported directly into PPro.
So I thought I'd next try to convert them to DV-AVI.  I have tried four programs (three of which I already had installed when I had previously tried in vain to do something sorta similar) that were rumored on this forum  (here and here) to do the trick, but none work, at least for me.  VirtualDub won't open any of those formats, neither MPEG Streamclip nor Pazera Free FLV to AVI Converter appear to be able to output with the DV codec (despite being highly acclaimed for this job), and although SUPER appears to have the right kinds of selections, it takes a very long time to produce only a broken file.
The best workflow I could find is this - feel free to cringe when you read it:
In FreeYouTubeDownload, save the files as h.264/ MP4.
Use MPEG Streamclip to convert them to h.264/MOV, also enlarging them to NTSC resolution at the same time (yeah, I could do that in PPro, and that would logically be better, but somehow they looked clearer when I did them this way - is Streamclip's resampler actually better than PPro's?).
Import them into Premiere Pro, which of course converts them to Microsoft DV internally.
Enlarge them just a tiny bit more in PPro - 101% vertically and 103% horizontally - apparently when MPEG Streamclip enlarges them, it includes some black on the edges, perhaps because of the strange original resolution.
Later, as part of the song video, the data will be converted again to MPEG2-DVD.
Yuck!  Is there any way to improve this process?

Is there any way to improve this process
    no
downloaded and tested your youtube downloader yesterday, tried handbrake and streamclip etc...conversions...(handbrake to mv4) ...though I dont know why you dont go right to avi from streamclip...it hardly matters...whatever you do it will be what it is...which is pretty horrible looking IMO but all you can do...so theres no other way to improve your process IMO
ps...some of PP exports for DVD wont look good on your computer ...you will need to burn a test dvd ( can use RW ) to see how it really looks
pps...m4v from handbrake ( no conversion of size at this point..just mp4 to mv4) imports to PP. If you wanted to experiment you could try using frameserver to deliver straight to virtualdub, and use filters in virtualdub to immediately go to your avi type 2 dv with size change etc ....but I haven't tried it.

  • Exporting from PPro CS3 -- lots of trial and error - and Cineform?

Rather than showing up on this forum out of nowhere and asking, "what is the best codec for exporting HDV edited material from PPro CS3 when the desired presentation is standard definition DVD" I thought I would do my homework first, and post my results. Then, if anyone has any suggestions on how to improve or if their mileage has varied from my results, I hope to learn from your comments.
My camera is a canon HV20, filming in 1080/60i and capturing using HDVSplit (due to premiere's inability to keep my audio and video in synch). I am operating in Windows XP Pro w/SP2 with a dual core AMD 6000+, 2GB dual channel DDR2 800 RAM. Seems powerful enough for me.
My finalists in terms of visual quality when burned to DVD using Encore CS3, 7MB 2 pass VBR, came down to these:
    1) H.264 max bit depth
    2) QT Animation Sorenson
    3) QT Animation Sorenson3
The H.264 takes a little longer to encode, but the visual quality wins out.
So, after doing this and reading posts on here about using Cineform AspectHD I thought I would download a trial and see what it does for me. The strange thing is, I don't seem to understand what advantage it offers, but surely it must be something since it costs $500!
After trying the Cineform trial for a couple of days, I'm not sure I understand what good it is doing. The CFHD files have to be rendered upon placing on the timeline, and they have longer render times when applying standard effects such as the Premiere color correction and time-remapping effects. No apparent difference in visual quality, but much larger file sizes to store. So why is it that folks use Aspect HD???
Hoping if you read this far you will share your preferred HDV-->SD export codecs and settings so I and others can learn from your efforts.
Oh yeah - and eventually, I will be purchasing a blu-ray burner so I want to export these same projects from Premiere into blu-ray format. But for now, it is standard def in 16:9 format.
Thanks for any comments or suggestions.
    MS

My computer is similar to Mystroh and Esc in KC. I am not as picky and I want to work in standard definition, I've been making movies in Premiere since version 5.5. In Premiere Pro version 2 I have been making movies using 3 different Sony videocams, usually about 30 minutes long, and exporting to tape and DVD.
So, I splurged for CS3 Production Premium and installed it. No problem.
I composed my first movie called 'Swindle Part 1'and exported it to Encore, (direct to DVD - no authoring) and it bombed near the end of the transcoding phase with the following message:
PGC "Swindle Part 1" has an error at 00;29;46;09. Internal software error: %0, line Swindle Part 1, ref = Bpgc, time = 00;29;46;09
The referenced timecode is one second from the end of the sequence.
I tried again with different clips in a different project and got the same error message.
I can successfully export this movie to tape and to a movie.
    Any ideas?

  • Problems adding narration

I'm trying to add narration to a project using Premiere 11. I have made the recommended ajustments under preferences, audio hardware, ASIO input and output. It begins the recording process to the time line and it is saved to the project assets. BUT there is no sound when replaying the file. There is no visible audio on the yellow line. Am I missing a step somewhere? I've tried a Sennheiser head set with mic, wireless mic and a hand help mic - all plugged directly into my pc but no luck - I have added narration with the same equipment to other programs - any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

You appear to have duplicate threads. The other one already has responses to it from Premiere Elements users.

Does anyone know if Boris Graffiti 5.3 is compatible with PPro CS3 running Windows 7 64bit?

  • OnLocation and PPro CS3 - DVCPROHD settings

I've just finished an extensive studio interview shoot capturing 1080p25  with my HVX200 and OnLocation CS3.
The capture worked fine and I can play the clips back without fault,  in OL and various other media players.
However, I just cannot set-up Ppro (CS3) to edit the footage  natively (without the red render bar in the timeline). Playback is  choppy as a result.
I've tried every combination of preset and custom settings I can  think of and still no joy. OL documentation even has a section on how to  set-up your project but that has the same result. I wish that Premiere  had the functionality of FCP where it will conform the project settings  around a clip that you import. At the moment it's a matter of trying  many combinations of settings in the hope one will work.
At the moment I'm having to use a P2 preset in Ppro, export each  clip from the timeline as a P2 export and then bring them back into a P2  project and finally edit them. Very time consuming, 2 hours per 30  minute clip, of which I have about 20 (I'm currently on number 5). I  find it hard to believe that two products from the same Suite are so  hard to work with together.
I'm guessing it has something to do with CODECs but that's an area  I'm pretty foggy on.
If anyone could provide some help, it would be greatly, greatly  appreciated. I'm happy to email smeone a small fragment of a clip if  that would help.
    Many thanks.

I have no problem to use encore it the file i send is compressed in those settings i mention before. I have no problems in compressing the file with those settings at all, like i have when i want to transfor the video in avi uncompressed.
Oaaa...i am going crazy here. I have had so many problems with this and if i end up working this documentary and not beeing able to export it i go mad!...this if i do not go there before because of this problems...

  • Importing Sony XDCAM EX3 clips no audio? PPRO CS3

    Hi,
I have been trying to import some XDCAM EX3 footage to CS3 3.2.
I have imported  2 of the BPAV folders and they are fine.
The other 3 BPAV- when I import the video is fine but no audio? I'm a bit worried? Where is the audio?
    many thanks for any help.
    scott

    Hello,
I tried going in to the BPAV folder- opening the CLPR folder then trying to view one of the mpeg 4 quicktimes.
I get an error message - Error 2010- the movie contains some invalid data.
BUT these are on the files that imported fine into ppro cs3.
I don't know if the audio files are AC3.
I went to the clips in the timeline that worked and hit properties and it said they were LCPM16?
BUT again, some of the BPAV folders were fine.
This is my first time trying to import these files.
I thought it would work straight away!!
