Adding new contact initiates Facetime?

Today, I sent an MMS vCard to two cell phone numbers. Later, I went back to that text message and selected one of the phone numbers. Tapping on it brought me to the screen where I can choose to call that number, add it as a new contact, etc. When I tried to add that number as a new contact, the phone attempted to initiate a Facetime session (which immediately ended). It would not allow me the option of creating a new contact.

That's interesting... Every time it tried to initiate the Facetime session, and failed, it would take me back to the previous screen. I would tap 'Create New Contact', again, and it would attempt another Facetime session. It was an endless loop.
Glad it's working for you.
I just tried it again (app. 24 hours later) and am getting the same issue.

  • Since the upgrade to IOS7, the default phone label when adding new contacts on my iPhone 5 is "Radio".  Previously the default was "Mobile" how can this be changed back to "Mobile"?

    Since the upgrade to IOS7, the default phone label when adding new contacts in my iPhone 5 is "Radio". Previously the default was "Mobile". It is a hassle as when my iPhone contacts are synched with Outlook via Exchange, the phone number I've entered on the iPhone doesn't show on the default Outlook view as it is a "Radio" number rather than a "Mobile", "Work", "Home", etc number. It is still stored both on the iPhone & in Outlook & I can still use the number to phone or SMS, it is just incorrectly labelled & hence the source of frustration.
    Apple please return the default to "Mobile" or alternatively find a way we can alter the default ourselves to "Mobile" or "Home" etc.

  • Nokia 5610: Problem in adding new contacts using P...

    Dear friends
    I'm having a strange problem in uploading contact number using PC-Suite. Phone is connected via Micro USB link with PC. Once connected, I select "PC Suite" mode in Phone.
    1. I use Nokia Contact editor to add new contacts in phone. Once I give necessary details in the contact editor then I save it. First time it gets stored successfully. Once again when I select "Create New Contact" and try to save it , it fails!!
    Then In phone, I have to select Menu-->Settings-->Connectivity-->USB Data Cable--->PC Suite. Then only it allows me to save the newly created contacts.
    I have to repeat this cumbersome procedure every time I create a new contact.
    In an all I'm able to save only on Contact at a time.
    What could possibly wrong with that.
    2. PC Suite shows only name of those contact, which were added thro' phone. It does not show contact number.
    Xpress Music Rulez
    Codingt the creativity

    I have absolutely the same problem.
    What's worse is that when I updated the phone software, I lost all of my contacts fromm the phone memory.
    I hope there's any easy fix to this issue or I may have to chose another phone manufacturer in future as I find this untenable.
    Great music player, shoddy software.
    Grrr...

  • Adding new contacts but the requests are not going...

    Hi,
    Please assist me on this critical issue. I was using latest version of skype that is 7.5 as it upgraded itself many times during the years. I have been adding new connections to my account as i deal with social media websites. Recently i discovered that the contact requests are not going through.
    I mean the contacts are real and they are active but when i add them to my skype. The request was sent but not delivered actually. I tested that by creating one more personal account. I have sent request from my primary account to the new one. I checked the new account to see if i got the request or not. And yes there was no request.
    Then i tried sending request from my new account to the primary one. And i got the contact request. Wondering is that issue related to my account or version. I am sure it is not the case with the version because the new account is using the same version too.
    Please let me know. My skype - [Removed for privacy] and I would like to test it with some of your guys here.

    Thanks everyone.
    It worked when I changed "Point.java" as follows:
    public class Point {
         private int x;
         private int y;
         public int getXCoordinate()
              return x;
         public int getYCoordinate()
              return y;
         public void setXCoordinate(int newX)
              x = newX;
         public void setYCoordinate(int newY)
              y = newY;
         public Point(int x, int y)
              setXCoordinate(x);
              setYCoordinate(y);

  • Adding new contact that's already in Facebook Group

    Today I got a new friend's phone number. When I typed it in my phone and pressed the 'add contact' button on the dialpad, the iphone wouldn't respond. Turns out they were already in my Facebook Group, which I didn't know existed 'til today. At first, I thought that was cool, and kinda creepy. But more importantly, I couldn't add them to my iCloud contacts, where my real friends live on both my iMac and iPhone.
    Is this really the normal behavior? Why can't I include them onto my iCloud contactswithout going through this process:
    Copy number from dialpad > Select contacts > Add new contact > Type in Name > Paste phone number > Check to see if I spelled their name right.

    Been there.
    One of this two.
    Wait for it to sync.
    Or when you download it u might put it to like a different version of iPod or iPad.
    Like me when I download song I put it to iPod touch3 istead of iPod touch4 so becarful when downloading

    I have the 4S running 5.0.1

  • Message application freezing when adding new contact from the messages application

    if someone is sending the message with the phone number included in the text, i touch the number and whait till options will pops up, choosing create new contact and ok. then the messages application freezes for a long time... few minutes. have to double press the home button and switch of the message app from the background. So have to start message app again to be able to use it. How to sort this? Its happening more than one year and have changed few phones already.

    Snow Leopard and iCloud compatibility is very limited, and it may be that the phone's OS requires iCloud for the syncing:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-2551
    I would enquire in the iOS forums to find out if there is a way without iCloud now to sync.

  • Contacts on Mavericks 10.9.1 is slow and not adding new contacts. Can anyone assist with a fix?

    Can anyone assist? For the past week I have been unable to add new contacts to the application and am having to input them manually. It takes a while too, as the app has sloed down tremendously.
    I have around 1900 contacts in there but can't imagine that is the reason?
    Can anyone assist in whether I can fix the problem or update anything? Or suggest an alternative contacts application?

    I had a similar issue as you did -- for a few weeks now I've been suffering through agonizingly slow Contacts performance.
    The way I resolved it was:
    1) Quit Contacts
    2) Go to system preferences and go into iCloud, then uncheck contacts -- choosing to delete from mac.
    3) Go into system preferences and to Internet Accounts and again uncheck contacts under any of the accounts it's enabled on (gmail, yahoo, etc).
    4) Go to your user's library folder (easiest way is to open a finder window, hold down the option key on the keyboard and from the Go menu, select Library).
    5) Delete anything referring to Address book or com.apple.address book....   -- check these folders in particular:
         - Address Book
         - Application Support
         - Caches
         - Preferences
    6) Restart your computer
    7) Go back into System preferences and enable contacts from wherever you want (iCloud, etc.)
    8) If it's not quite enabling (appears to enable, but checkbox doesn't show), then do one more restart of the computer.
    9) Now open Contacts and allow it to sync

  • Crash while adding new Contact to Address Book

    When I add a new contact to my IPhone 4s Address Book ("Contacts") it sometimes crashes if you enter all the information and tap "done". It doesn't crash if you first enter the first/last name - tap done - open the contact and edit it. After "Contacts" crashes the new entry is not saved.
    It is very annoying especially if you are on the go or you ask the person 3 times for their contact details...

    Tell me about it... I always save after entering the name THEN I edit it again to add the number .. save .. and add additional details like email etc

  • Sync Facebook to contacts without adding new contacts?

    So here's what I want to do: I want to sync my existing contacts to Facebook. So if my contacts are missing a picture/email address/phone number/birthday, etc. it will be added. But I do not want ALL of my Facebook friends added to my contacts. Is there any way to get Facebook to sync only to the contacts that are already in your phone without adding anyone new? FYI my phone is not jailbroken. I have the iPhone 5. Thanks!

    Facebook contacts are all or nothing.

  • Problem with adding new contacts to CRM from Outlook

    Hello, we are trying to import contact data into CRM 2013 using the Outlook client. A lot of these contacts are coming through in forwarded emails and the client is not picking up the contact data correctly.
    For example, when we click the 'track' button - if the contact is not in the CRM, the small CRM window at the bottom of the email shows up in red. Then we can right-click and 'add contact' or 'add lead'. But forwarded emails don't do this? Is there a solution
    or are we doing it wrong?
    (We have just started using CRM and would appreciate any helpful tips!)
    Many thanks,
    Jason

    The problem has been resolved: we didn't activate a code in SE80.

  • Before updating the software om my iPhone 5 to iOS 7, it were possible when adding new contacts to mark them with 'iPhone, fax, mobile etc.' Now it is not possible to select iPhone anymore, does anyone have a solution or know what is wrong?

    Any one have a solution on my problem?

    Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.
