Adding new e-mail account - does not recognise passwords

Im trying to add my @live.com e-mail to my account in settings but it keeps saying that my password is incorrect. I've tried to do it through the hotmail tab and other but neither works. I have an iphone 4. Please help.

Go to the support website for Hotmail. You may have enabled Two-Step Verification. If so, then you'll need to have a separate password for mobile device usage.
Also, Microsoft has been having issues on and off with mobile device mail for the past few days.

I'ved looked and this particular case could be a quirky one.
The details are:
User account A is the account that Exchange thinks doesn't exist.
User account B is her boss.
A copy of user B's email is sent to A. (done through Delivery Options)
Senders sometime receive an email back saying user A's address doesn't exist.
(which really confuses them because they sent the email to B)
This is the only time the bounce message appears.
I've removed the forward and added it again. Still the problem.
Any clues?

You need to verify old delegates in UserB's mailbox by going to Tools -> Options -> Delegates. Remove old UserA and re-add it.
This is because of option “Delegates receives copy of meeting-related mails sent to me” is ticked with old UserA id in Delegates.
If you can't see any delegates then you have another option to delete delegates rule with MFCMapi.
- Open UserB's Mailbox with MFCMapi where UserB's outlook profile configured in online mode (not Cache mode)
- Double click the Mailbox of userB to open.
- Expand Root Container -> Top of the information store -> Inbox folder
- Right-click the "Inbox" folder, and then click "Display Rules Table".
- You can see all rules configured in mailbox.
- Delete the Delegate Rule with "PR_RULE_PROVIDER" column property shows "Schedule+EMS Interface". (this is the same option which you can set with GUI Delegation "Delegates receives copy of meeting-related mails sent to me" but stale copy is still in mailbox.)

No. Tried all that. Server finally says they don't understand what's happening so better if I just delete accounts and set them up again from scratch. Haven't done that yet in hopes someone in the Apple world will have found a solution.

One Yahoo! mail account does not receive email sent from .mac

OK, this is an odd problem, and any help would be appreciated.
My girlfriend's Yahoo! mail account does not receive email sent from my .mac address. If I send email from my Gmail or Yahoo! accounts she receives the message. No one else has informed me that they haven't received email from the .mac address. Additionally, the .mac account is in her address book.
Anyway, has anyone seen a similar pattern with Yahoo! or any other email provider?

Thanks for the reply . . . and yes, the recipient's email provider likely holds the answer.
However, I was hoping someone here might have had a similar experience and could answer as the email provider is Yahoo, and they are slow in responding to help requests . . . for a period I hosted a personal, paid website through Yahoo Domains and help tickets lingered for several days on multiple occasions (this being the reason the site is no longer hosted by Yahoo). I also doubt Yahoo will expend too much energy resolving a problem for a free email account.
Anyway, I posted in the Yahoo mail forums, and hopefully something will come-up . . . .

Change default name when adding new e-mail account

When I try to add a new e-mail account in MacMail, the populated default name for the user is incorrect. I have to change it to my name and was wondering where this is coming from and how to remove it.

My external hard drive does not recognise password

Hi,
I had formatted an external drive with a password security recently and using it as my portable time machine for backups. For some reason, the drive cannot be mounted as it does not recognise the Password. Can anyone please help me on this matter?

Does the drive show up under 'Devices' in Finder?

I have an Ipod Touch 4g. My computer broke. I have a new computer now. My problem is that my new computer itunes library does not recognise the content already on my ipod. Help please

I have an Ipod Touch 4G. My computer broke. I now have a new computer . I have NO access to old computer. The itunes on my new computer recognises by Ipod but not the music content already on my ipod. This means it does not show the content in the library on itunes any more. The content on my ipod is not purchased from itunes store. Can i get it to show up in the `new` library? Is this also preventing me from downloading new items into my ipod - as i can download new discs into the library, but they will not load into the ipod. Your help would be appreciated - cant bear another sleepless night. Thank you

I dont know how helpful this will be but here we go:
try syncing your ipod again
do you still have these cds? try reburning them to you library
restart itunes
restart the computer
hardware reset ipod touch
Heres how to do this
Hold down power and home button at the same time until the screen goes black, ignore the slide to power off arrow
Idevice will now restart on its own, this might take longer then when waking it from shut down
6. now try step 1 again
note: try any of these ideas they are not a set order of instructions

E mail account does not go online

I am using the mail software origianl of apple, have more than 8 e mail accounts all working ok ,suddenly one stop working, I double cheked login and password wer eok etc, and try to take it online, but does not do it
all the rest working ok, so I have not been able to dowload e mails of that account

Exchange Mail account does not organize by thread

I recently had two email accounts, both gmail, setup with IMAP on my iPhone. Yesterday I switched both of these accounts to Exchange because I wan't the emails pushed to me instead of having to manually fetch them. I've noticed though since I changed to Exchange the "organize by thread" feature of the iphone does not seem to work.
Can anyone help me setup an Exchange account while still keeping emails organized by thread?

I'd first rule out memory issues by following the restart/reset/restore troubleshooting path. Several users I've worked with that have had delivery issues have fixed it this way.

Since the update my imap mail account does not work

Well, it still owrks on my imac but not on iphone or ipad. Settings are exactly the same on all three. I deleted the mail account on the ipad and ipone and re-set them up but still doesnt work. All I get is the spinner and mail hangs forever eventually it says that the mail server is not responding and to verify that Ive entred the correct account info in the mail settings. I have! Several times....

You don't input the information in manually for iCloud mail. It is automatically set up for you when you sign into iCloud via System Preferences and choose the Mail checkbox. Sign out of iCloud or deselect Mail in iCloud preferences. Open Mail's preferences and choose accounts tab. If iCloud account still exists in the list, delete it. Sign back into iCloud or check the box for mail. The account will be auto created for you.
