Adding new phone number to contacts in address book on IOS4

Has anyone else come across those bug? When I try and press the add symbol to add a new phone number or extra number ie. Home or work as the default in new contact is mobile, the + symbol doesn't respond.
So infuriating for such an essential app. For the most my upgrade is ok although a few apps now don't open.

I see a number if the number of cards in the group more than fills the page. However, if there are blank lines on the page, there is no number.

I use iphone4. After I upgraded to ios7 finding lot sof issues. The biggest irritating issue is if I want to add a new number (after dialing this number or receiving a call from this number or receiving a sms from this number) and press add to contact, the contact place holders come up but if i click on the typing place the soft keybord does not come up. Funny thisg is it comes up sometimes. But not most of the time ! Lets solve this first before we get onto the more nuanced issues.

Try going to settings to General to reset to 'reset all settings'

Do I have to add a new contact for each new phone number?

I just got my phone and I'm adding in my contact manually. I don't see multiple spots for multiple phone numbers for one person? Do I have add a new contact for each phone number a person has? (I.e. One for their home number, one for their work number, one for their cell number).

No.
There is no reason to have a default number of phone number entries that may not all be used and the same for email addresses.
When manually entering contact info, after entering the first number for a contact, a new phone number entry is made available directly below.

I've fixed my own problem.
In the end, the issue was with iMessage on the other phone, not mine.
While I had it connected to iTunes (the other phone, not mine), I could see that iTunes thought it was the temporary number (07429...). I turned iMessage off and back on again and the phone number in iTunes changed to the old (i.e correct) number (07903...).
Subsequently, texts from my phone to the other phone showed up as blue-bubbled iMessages.

When a contact gets a new phone number, I delete the old and enter the new. Then when I text or call the old number shows up as a selection yet it's no longer under the contacts info.

That's normal behavior as the old one will remain in the memory cache for a while until it's eventually overwritten. If it's particularly bothersome to you, you can restore your phone as NEW and this will empty the cache.

Though you’ve long been able to add automatically dialed extensions to contacts on the iPhone, the newest versions of iOS handle extensionsmuch more intelligently, allowing you to create a “Dial Extension” button to any specific contact. That extension dialer can be activated manually, making the navigation of telephony menus infinitely easier, here’s how to quickly add this to a contact:
Open Contacts and tap the contact name to add the extension to, then tap the “Edit” button
Tap the phone number entry, place the cursor at the end, then tap the “+*#” button to access additional options
Choose “wait” then enter the extension afterwards, it will add a semicolon and the extension afterwards to the address appearing like so: 1-888-555-5555;123
Tap “Done” and exit out of contacts
Now dial the contact to discover a “Dial 123″ button has appeared, tap that whenever you want to dial the extension
The extensions can also be added from a Mac in Contacts (Address Book) by adding a semicolon to numbers followed by an extension, just be sure to sync it through the same iCloud account or it won’t go over to the iPhone.

Using O2M I imported my contacts into Address Book. However upon exiting the contacts are not saved. This is on a new Macbook Pro Lion OS. How does one save the newly imported contacts?

Using the program O2M I successfully imported emails from Outlook 2003 to Mail, and calendar events to iCal. However, repeated attempts to import contacts to Address Book have failed. The contacts appear to import, but when I close Address Book and reopen it, the contacts are gone. I tried File-Save, but Save is greyed out. This is a new Macbook Pro with the latest Lion OS. I wonder if O2M has not been updated to work with Lion. Or is there something I am overlooking in the import process?

Hi Denisej and others who have encountered the same problem,
I tried your work around. Unfortunately it did not work out for me because in my contacts there are an unknown number that still "refused" to be imported like that. When such a contact was in the group I selected for import the whole lot would be lost again after re-opening Address Book. Finally that meant that I had to import each contact one-by-one, each time with the need to close down Address Book. A job to go nuts and end up with a mouse injury. So I decided to use the Migration Assistant that Lion now offers

together with Windows Migration Assitant on my old PC. Obviously both Mac and PC have to be on the same network. For this I did not need to do anything special. Both make use of the same router and that is apparently sufficient. When migrating the contacts Lion creates a new account, so you need to log in to that new account to see your migrated contacts. I used the Export Address Book Archive function in the Address Book menu to copy the lot to my own Apple account. I got rid of the new account and I was finally where I wanted to be in the first place.

The phone number of one particular sales office was changed this week. Now the customer is asking to change the old phone number printed in one of the invoice created last month to new telephone number. How do we do it? Shall I cancel the invoice and recreate so that the new phone number gets picked from Sales Office address? or any other method pls

I dont think you need recreate the invoice again.if you are maintaining PH number in sales office addres than it would be automatically picked new one once you give print from issue output to.
for more you may take ABAPes help to check or confirm from where phone number is getting picked in form.
yes VF11 is the transaction for cancel the billing document.
but before canceling the docs please make sure from where it is getting picked actually.

When you look at your call history in the phone app, you see the number that you want to add, and press on the small right arrow on the right. It will show you a new page where you can simply create a new contact or add it to an existing one.

this can possibly work but could be tricky to do.
an address can have several lines for street address, several phone numbers and you'd have to figure out how to parse all the information correctly and also get rid of any extraneous stuff that may be selected along with the address. i confess I don't know quite how to do it. It might be possible though. snow leopard does have address recognition built in so it does it somehow.

Open a Write window. If all the toolbars are missing press the alt key to make the menu bar appear.
From the menu bar select View-Toolbars and turn the missing toolbars back on.
