Adding Notes to iCloud Via Sending Email

Hello All,
I use alot of notes apps, and every single one of them has the option to add a note via sending the note to a custom email address instead of opening the app. Still I couldn't find such functionality regarding iCloud notes ! Does anyone have any idea or a workarround to apply this on iCloud notes ?

The built in Notes app, like the other built in apps is fairly basic. It doesn't have that feature.

All resolved at last
Deleted the SMTP setting
Recreated the SMTP using the same settings
Able to send emails now
No logic - as usual - just a bug!

I have not been able to send email for some time but now i have stopped being able to recieve email.

i have not been able to send emails for some time but in the last two days ive stopped being able to receive, the message says 'username or password incorrect' ive checked all the settings, ive deleated accout and set up again, ive rebooted phone. i tried to sync with pc but this also fails any ideas

That is correct, They don't seem to know about Mac, never got a single scrap of help from them. Try recreating your account from scratch, delete the account, (write down all your settings first) and add an account, see if that works, and if it does, delete the first account to prevent things doubling up on you. I think that's what I did, it was quite a while ago. Hope this helps, or gets you pointed in the right direction. Maybe go to At&t and try creating another account, and if ti works, delete the first.
One other tihing I did was to reset Safari, as AT&T uses the net, that's about all I can remember, like I said it was awhile ago.

You most likely did not change the password in the outgoing mail server section of your email account.
Go to Settings > Mail, Contact, Calendars > your email account > Advanced > Outgoing Mail Server
Re enter the correct user name and password in the outgoing Mail server section even though it may say that these are optional.

ICloud is sending emails it shouldn't be!

Hi everyone.
iCloud appears to be sending a lot of emails to people that have sent me invites through my calendar. I've only been able to find this out when the people have emailed me saying they're pretty annoyed with it, and seeing that all the links and footer in the original email says iCloud! the emails are always about events as well. This has now happened twice.
I dont have my emails or calendars synced with iCloud so I'm not sure how it's happening or how to stop this happening again. It's not fair on all the unsuspecting people getting hundreds of emails for me, or on me for all the angry replies I've been getting!
Has anyone got any ideas, or have had this happen & know how to fix this issue?

Yeah I obviously have an iCloud account or this probably wouldn't be an issue. I've definitely got all syncing apart from contacts switched off, and the people getting the emails aren't even in my contact list they're all directly from calendar events. Nobody else could be using the same ID no, I frequently change my password & don't write them down so there wouldnt be a way that they could be using it and I live alone so noone is using my laptop other than myself either. It seems like its some kind of settings glitch but having everything switched off hasnt solved the issue :/
Also I don't use iCloud for backing up my phone I do that directly to my PC so it couldn't be that either!

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, things have gotten progressively worse now in another direction. After I posted this, I shut down my computer to go to work. It had to "rebuild" the filevault sparseimage to recover space.
Now when I restarted it, I am missing things from my dock, ? marks are in their place, all of my preferences have been set to some default AND this is the biggie - I have no mail accounts whatsoever. When I click on Mail, it asks me if I want to establish a new account. It looks like the FileVault action has totally screwed up my system.
I tried rebuilding the permissions as recommended above using safe boot. Didn't help. I am now trying to repair the FileVault sparseimage as recommended elsewhere. I think I now see what the problem might be. I have two different sparseimages for the same account with the only difference is that a 1 is appended to the second one. Unfortunately I can't tell which it is. I have a feeling I should repair the 1st one (without the suffix 1). It must not be able to open that and hence that is why it made a second one.
Any other help anyone?

I am now in Europe and in the UK (wireless connection to BT Openzone) and in France (wireless connection to Orange) have been able to receive emails but not send any (except to optusnet.com.au addresses). This is true for my iPad 3 and iPhone 4. I can send email using Safari and webmail but as I receive emails in various languages cannot read most of them in webmail. This is really frustrating. Can anyone help? Thanks. Miles

it would had been possible if u were accessing data through optus sim card with global roaming active which will then incur massive data charges

Since I installed Firefox I have not been able to send emails from aol. What is causing this problem and how do I fix it?

Whether I am responding to an email or composing a new one I have not been able to consistently send emails since I downloaded FF. Once or twice I managed to send one but do not know why they went through since typically do not get past the technical problem message. The error always says there is a technical problem but does not specify the actual problem.

Sharing iCal calendar on iCloud. Sending email address is the same for everyone.

A group of us share a calendar so we all know each other's schedules. The problem is when sending or accepting meeting invitations, it always comes from the email address that is associated with the iCloud account. Can we change it for each system? Each local system should have iCal associated with their email address, not the base one.

It won't let me change my Apple ID email address it says "Email address is already verified for another Apple ID." when I try to change my email adress. The thing is, I have no other apple id's that I know of...Any help?

Get error message that server could not be found when sending email thru iPhoto

I have established a icloud/mobile me account. Trying to use iphoto to send photos with emails and always get error message that server coule not be found.

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

I can not reply to or send emails..have no contact list.can't compose

emails but do receive them in my Windows Live Hotmail. I can use my Windows Live hotmail completely through Internet Explorer..so it must not be hotmail itself. I also can not forward any emails.

Thank goodness it's not just me. I also have tried everything from previous forums and nothing works. I logged out and cannot log back in. Even changed password to no avail. How can we find out if this is an Apple problem.

You're being asked to create a [email protected] address and you're entering an address at your domain. The 'something' must be less than 21 characters and can only be followed by '@icloud.com'.

Can not send email from Mac, iPhone, or iPad using mail using iCloud.

I can send email from the icloud web page but I get error messages that the icloud outgoing server is not recongized when I send email from my iphone, ipad and Mac mail. I can receive icloud email okay on all devices. I have manully setup a icloud server per instructions on icloud support page for mail's outgoing server name. It still is not recongized.

I found a work around that works. Got to Settings...Icloud....account......advanced....outgoing mail server.....
Add an "other" server.
Host Name p01-smtp.mail.me.com
Put in your me.com email address as username and your Apple ID password
SSL is on
Authentication is password
Server port 587
This worked for me.....I will use this until the bug is fixed. Don't make this server your primary. Leave it in "on" status in the other category.

Cannot Send Emails If Not Via Home Network

If I am at home I can send emails via my wifi network without problem but I cannot send emails outwith my home wifi range. This is because my ISP (Orange) insist that I send outgoing emails via mail.orangehome.co.uk so I have configured my email settings accordingly.
That outgoing setting does not allow me to send emails using the 3 Network or other wifi networks when I am away from the house
Anybody else having this problem? It is a real PITA and reduces the effectiveness of the phone significantly.
(A side effect of trying to send emails whilst away from my wifi network is that it screws things and any attempt to synchronise the mailbox thereafter results in an error 80072f30 until such time as I delete the message or messages in the outbox which failed to send.)

The problem I have can be explained with what has happened to me just today!
I was sitting in the back garden and wrote two emails. (Normally my EE Brightbox router will allow me to use wifi in the garden so I thought it safe to send them.)
Wrong!
Because I had no wifi signal for whatever reason, the emails were sent via my network (3) and not via the EE wifi network.
3 then attempted to send them via smtp.orangehome.co.uk (specified in my mailbox setup on my phone since EE insists I use that outgoing server) and I assume that EE then refused to accept them since they did not originate from an EE user. The phone (Lumia 920) at that point froze with the 'Sycnhronising' message static on the screen. When I went to 'email setup' I got a message to tell me that there was a problem with my email setup. Whether the main problem or not, my email password had been lost and even when re-entered, I had to switch the phone off and on to stop the 'Sycnhronising' message and get access to email.
This was slightly different from previous situations - normally I get the numeric error message mentioned earlier. Even now that I have deleted the two emails from the outbox I still cannot use email until I delete and recreate my email account.
I have my own email server which I would prefer to use for outgoing mail as opposed to EE and the Lumia does not offer any facility to alter outgoing ports (as far as I an see).
Sorry if the reply is a bit wordy but I do feel that this situation deserves wider exposure as had I known earlier I would have chosen a broadband supplier who did not dictate the setting for outgoing mail server.
