Adding Old templates to a DW8 re-install

Hey there, XP was behaving badly and I reinstalled it. Lo and
behold, my templates (there are many of them) are on their template
folder in their respective sites, but they are not associated with
their sites in the File > New and the successive dialog boxes.
So I make changes and the template is saved but the pages are not
updated, a total mess.
Can anybody point me to documentation, or advice, as to how
to get my templates back to their site.

Hi, is it possible to get the standard templates of Dreamweaver CS 2 & CS3? In CS4 and newer, some templates changed and old templates are not longer available.

I need it only to see the "design-structure".
In the past i have had a website with based on the tepmlate i am looking for, and i used the template without any changig of the grafik. Just quite and simple.
The design was white and. I will use it as example for my new website.
I think it was a CSS-template.
I am not interessetd in the code of the template. You are right. The code ist very old and out of date.
When i see the template, i can code it with the up-to-date-Standard.
But i have to see the template, cause i cant completly remember in my mind.
Maybe it is possible, that someone has the old CS2 and CS3 installed an can extract the old templates for me and send them via Email oder put them on a server.
I hope you unterstand what i want to say.

You are allowed to have two working installations so you do not have to disable the original if you prefer to have a backup. Otherwise, to disable you can just sign out thru the CC manager.

when you were install your cs3 you should have been prompted for you serial number. were you?
if not, you probably didn't properly install cs3. copying/migrating/moving etc is problematic.
if yes, did you see any error messages during installation?
if yes, attach a screenshot of the error message.
if not, check you install logs, Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6, CC

Yes, just install as you normally would using the serial number you originally used.
You did not have to uninstall on the old machine - with your single user license you are allowed to have two activated installations. So feel free to reinstall it if those are the only two machine you plan to have it on and you'd like to have a backup installation.

Deleting old templates in Bridge from OSX 10.7.3

In my home folder, Library/Application Support/Adobe/XMP I don't have metadata templates, but a folder named Custom File Info Panels, which brings to 2 folders, called 1.0 and 3.0.

no metadata templates. considering that I could find them with the old computer (which I sold) could it be that with Lion it's different?

The library you are looking in is not your user library but your system library on root level. You should leave the files there untouched.
The problem with OSX Lion seems that some bright minds thought it would be wise to hide the user library by default.

After Client copy workflow is functionality is working as old Template

Hi Experts,
PO Workflow is working fine in Development and Quality servers,
Due to some requirement client copy is made from Quality to Development.
Once client copy is completed the PO workflow is not working as per the current functionality,
Its working as the Previous four Transports (i.e; ol d Template functionality)
In workflow Analysis log we are able to see the workflow template flow as the old template flow.
Recent Activity steps functionality is skipped.
In quality Server Workflow functionality is fine
Kindly advise me to solve this Problem

yes i am able to see the recent version in the WF Template by entering through SWDD.
PO WF worked good in Quality and Development servers till 3 days back
once the client copy is made, from Quality to Development.
In Development server it is working as previous 4 TRs functionality
able to see the current version template.

If you purchased the software from Adobe directly, Contact Customer Care - they can tell you if there is a chance to get a replacement disk. But most likely they will tell you to download the software.

In this complicated case, I think it's important that you get your work in.
The Photography Plan includes Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CC. Open an account with them and for $10 a month you can be back in business which I think nets you more than $10. It's what I do. You can do this immediately. You get two seats and they can be either Mac or PC.
In your spare time you can sort out the license issue and cancel the plan later on if this is fixed.
If you don't want to go there, then you will have to call Customer Service by phone and hope they can fix this.

Is there a way to use old templates from Pages '09 in Pages 5.0?

Another surprise in Pages 5.0: When I choose one of the (many) templates I used in Pages '09 (v4.3), I get a message saying that the template is old and has to be used in Pages '09. So it looks like I'll need to redo all my templates if I want to use them in Pages 5.0. Is there an easier way?

I opened P09>P09 Menu>General Preferences>For New Documents>Show Template Chooser>My Templates>chose old document (in this case, an envelope)>File>Save>entered a new name. I closed P09. Opened P5>chose to open with Show Document Chooser>My Templates>the new Template was not there. I went to Finder>Library....My Templates> the new document (envelope) was there, but it showed as an envelope, not like the other Templates (which showed the p5 logo with a small blue ruler at the bottom).
I was able to open a lot of my previous (newer) templates with P5 if I opened P5 to Show Template Chooser. But...when I Open P5>File>there is no "New from Template Chooser" in that File menu. That menu starts with New, Open..., and Recent. There is no "New from Template Chooser". In P09, I could be working on a Pages document, and could go File>and "New From Template Chooser" would be there. As I said, it's not present in P5.
Concerning the re-saving of an old template, is there anything else I should be doing? Secondly, is there a solution to my missing File choice for "New from Template Chooser"?

I am using CQ 5.4. and I want to refactor existing code of a project. Part of that involves renaming existing templates. Renaming one locally, I saw that existing pages break because they can't 'find' the old template. is there a way to rename a template without breaking those pages?

I'm not aware of any GUI tool that does this in Leopard. you can change the names of the share points by hand by editing the appropriate plists located in /private/var/db/dslocal/nodes/Default/config/SharePoints/ but that's a pretty horrible way to do it and is the opposite of user friendly. don't know any other way though.
