Adding one effect to all clips in project

I Just need to know how to add the unsharp mask to every clip In my project at once.

EFfects are added to layers in the comp, not clips in the project window. Unless you already have them all in a comp and could use this comp as a layer in another comp, you will have to apply the effect individually with whatever means you deem best Like saving a preset and applying it or usi gcopy&paste.

Yes, you can select multiple clips then Adjust, Crop, click on "Fit".

Applying One effect to several clips (not tracks!)

i have one track with about 40 clips in it of different cut up audio. i want to apply one effect to several different clips at once. how do i do that?
i know how to apply the one effect to one clip, but if i try and shift click four different clips, and then go to add an effect to it, the effects are grayed out
and i really don't want to go into each clip, add an effect, adjust it and save it for every clip.
is there an easier way?

There are a few ways to do this. The simple way is to apply the filter to one clip. Open it into the viewer and change the parameters as you like. Select all the other clips and drag the filter name from the viewer onto the other clips. They all have the same setting.

Analyze ALL clips in project for image stabilization

In older versions of iMovie for Mac (I used iMovie '09 until I finally get myself to switch to the recent version) I was able to analyze ALL clips for image stabilization, which took some time but could be accomplished without me sitting in front of my Mac. Now it seems that in iMovie 10 the stabilization feature only works for the selected clip. That means you select it, click the stabilization checkbox and wait and wait and wait. Then you get to make the right setting (percentage) and move on to the next clip, click the checkbox and wait and wait and wait.
I tried selecting all clips with Cmd + A and click the checkbox, and the wheel started to spin. I was already feeling lucky to have found the solution to the afore mentioned problem, but when the wheel stops spinning and I select a random clip, some of them are analyzed but most are not.
Is there any way to have ALL clips analyzed without user interaction?

I've had this happen. My guess is that it's related to round-tripping to/from Color, but I can't be sure. IMHO, the sequence is corrupted. I just dealt with it for a while, then rebuilt it by making changes from an earlier version.
Sorry I don't have a better solution, but at least you know you're not alone.

One effect for several clips

is there a way to throw a color filter for example onto a group of several clips at once ? I know the general procedure,like when the whole group of clips are highlighted and you drop one in ,the whole group of clips light up brown but only one clip holds the actual effect menu.

Turning OFF effects on all clips simultaneously?

I'm about to convert (using Media Manager) all the clips on a timeline from HDV to ProRes (prior to doing my color grading in Color).
All the clips already have FCP 3-way Color Correction filters installed. Is there a way I can turn all the effects filters off simultaneously, before doing the batch conversions?

All clips in project are zoomed in

I was trying to put a title with a cross dissolve and hit something that made all the clips in my project zoom in. There is a tiny little rectangular box with a smaller red rectangular box in the canvas. Can anyone help me so I don't have to start the project over?

I was still in an editing mode in the canvas. Once I selected the "crop" button (because I was in that mode still) all the clips went back to normal. Tracy

Hi,
I'm creating a slideshow in iDVD with about 117 pictures and was wondering if there was a way to add a cross-dissolve transition to all of those pictures in one shot.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

How to apply an effect to multiple/all clips

I'm sure I'm missing something elementary here, but I can't find a way to apply an effect to multiple clips at once in PE7. Specifically I'd like to apply the Auto Levels adjustment effect across all clips in my project (makes sense because they were all recorded at the same time), but at best can onely copy the effect from one clip or section on the timeline to another; one at a time. When working with a project that has upward of 100 scenes, copy and pasting to each individual clip seems like a lot of tedious work that should be easier.
Does anyone have any suggestions or information that could point me in the right direction?

You have discovered one of the little "gottchas" with Copy/Paste Attributes - it does it for all.
I do not know of a way to eliminate Effects globally, i.e. multiple Clips in this case. Unless there's a neat workaround, or secret switch, I think it will be by hand. That is the way it is in PrPro. Don't know about PE, but In PrPro one can select some of the Effects to Copy/Paste Attributes (for many Effects, but not all).
Side note: Render your Clips and watch them closely with Auto Levels. I find that it "pulses" and that manually setting Levels (not the Auto one) is better.

To select multiple clips, hold down the command key as you click multiple clips. Then you can drag them all at once.
To drag all clips at once, select one, then Edit/Select All. Then drag them all.

How to move all clips in one click&drag?

I am new to the Mac world and must be just missing how one does this.
After importing my minidv into iMovie HD 06 I find I have 140 clips from the tape.
I just want to move them all into the project and then burn a dvd (through iDVD).
How can I select them all and move them down in one drag?
Click each one and drag down one at a time (140 times) is obviously what I don't want to do.

You need to hold the mouse button down as you drag the cursor down the left edge of the clips pane window. and then move to the right while holding the button down. That should create an expandable box that encloses the clips and selects the enclosed clips. If it doesn't work, your iMovie program is not functioning correctly and you need to delete preferences and do a permissions repair.
The "select all" works fine if you in fact want to select all, but not if you want to select, say, half of your clips.
Glad you resolved the problem, however.

Finding all clips with a specific effect applied? (CS6)

I'm just wrapping up a long (2-hour) multi-cam edit and applied the warp stabilizer effect on several clips in the project. As I was skimming the video marking chapters, I discovered some of the clips with that effect had the blue "Analyzing (Step 1)" bar across the clip. Not sure why it didn't complete the analysis and stabilization on those clips originally, but I reran the analysis/stabilization effect and those clips are clean now.
However, I'm worried I might have missed other instances of the "blue bar" in my skimming. Is there a way to search and find all clips in my timeline that I applied the warp stabilizer effect to so I can check them all?

Not exactly.
Any clips with an effect applied have a purple line through them. But you'll have to click the clip to see which effects are used.

After recently updating my copy of iPhoto to 9.5.1 I can no longer access my projects; I can see them in the sidebar, but when I click on one of them all I get is a spinning wheel.

I recently update my iPhoto software to version 9.5.1 and since the update I have been unable to open any of my projects. I can see the project folders in the sidebar, but when I click on one of them all I get is a never ending spinning wheel. Any help wouldbe much appreciated.

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
