Adding Outlook to iCloud on my Window 7 PC

I have iCloud on my iPhone and my iPad, which includes iCloud and Outlook emails, calendars and contacts but now I want to add it to my Windows 7 PC. When I the downloaded iCloud onto my PC, I followed the directions from the Apple website. When I open iCloud, very briefly the Outlook access pops open, but then is quickly replaced with "You can access Mail, Contacts, Calendar and Reminders at iCloud.com". When I click on the iCloud.com link on my computer, I can only access my iCloud email and contacts, not my Outlook mail, contacts, calendar and reminders. How do I add Outlook mail, contacts, etc.. on my computer like it is on my iPhone and iPad?

You must have a copy of Outlook (not Outlook.com email) in order to sync with iCloud, otherwise you must use the iCloud website.
MS chose to rename Hotmail and call it Outlook.com, don't confuse that with Outlook the program (that has existed for the last 15 years.
Buy a copy of Outlook, 2007 or 2010 (it's possible that 2013 may work as well.
Outlook.com email has nothing to do with iCloud and will not appear in it, only iCloud email is supported by iCloud.

I have just launched icloud on my windows 7 laptop, and stupidly followed the instructions and added my outlook email contacts which come up as email addresses to my whole icloud contacts. So, there are now 1000's of contacts which have now appeared on my iphone.
How do I delete these email addresses and preserve the original straightforward names with telephone and address contacts?  I am not very technical and am frustrated in my attempts to rectify the situation.
    Thanks

For your contacts go to settings on your phone - mail contacts and calendars - scroll down to contacts and change display order to the one you want ( you can also change sort order, but ususally people prefer last name first and see if that is what you have).
For your yahoo emails go on your computer open outlook
In Outlook 2010, choose File > Accounts.
Click account settings and confirm the command by clicking "Add and remove accounts or change existing connection settings."
    Select account and click "Change."
    Click "Advanced."
    Click "More Settings."
    Click the "Advanced" tab.
Enter "7" in the box to the right of "Remove from server after."
    Click OK.
    Close Account Settings.
    If you have outlook 2007
In Outlook 2007, choose Tools > Account Settings.
Click the account you wish to edit and then click Change.
    Click the "More Settings" button.
Select the Advanced tab located across the top of the window.
Select the "Leave a copy of messages on the server" option.
Select the "Remove from server after" option.
Enter 7 in the box to the right of "Remove from server after."
    Click OK.
    Close Account Settings.

  • When using Icloud service for windows to synchronize with outlook, what outlook profile does it use - is there a way to specify which one?

After loading  - iCloud Control Panel for Windows v1.1 and logging in icloud
I have options to synchronize several Outlook Items with icloud.
    Mail, contacts, calendar, etc.
The questions is to what outlook profile icloud control panel will connect to synchronize.
I am asking because on this PC, I have 3 profiles -> all with differnt contacts, and calendar items.
Each profile has a different name.
iCloud Control Panel simply says "contacts" -> Outlook ==> which profile in outlook.
    Thank you

Under "tools", "Options" , "applications" on my computer there isn't a "mailto". so these instructions don't work. Any other ideas?

Does iCloud work with Windows 8?  If not, when is it anticipated that it will?  I want to sinc Microsoft Outlook between my computer and SmartPhone.

iCloud is not currently supported on Win 8, some have got it to work but many have not, I would wait until it is supported.

That is what it does. There is no sync, you have a new calendar.

  • Error enabling "Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and Tasks with Outlook" in iCloud 3.0  Control Panel

Unable to enable option “Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and Tasks with Outlook” under iCloud 3.0  Control Panel.
Get following error when clicking checkbox to enable it under iCloud 3.0 Control Panel.
"Setup can't continue because Outlook isn't configured to have a default profile. Check your Outlook settings and try again."
    Have tried the following:
Uninstalled / reinstalled iCloud 3.0 control panel
Removed all mail accounts from Outlook 2013 except MS account
Confirmed Outlook was chosen for  “Always uses this profile” under Control Panel – Mail (MicroSoft Outlook 2013) – show profiles
Still get the same error when trying to enable the option under iCloud 3.0 Control Panel
PC is running Windows 8.1 (64 bit)
Outlook 2013 was just installed on the PC as part of new Office 2013 installation

    Two more things:
First, sorry for the bad spelling, grammar, and all of that. English isn't my first language and I'm so frustrated at this point I'm not paying any attention to it. Sorry!
Second, after trying to repair again the icloud 3.0 through the Control Panel of Windows, guess what? It made Offce to crash again! Now I will have to install it again.

  • I use a Win7 PC with iCloud and Outlook 2010 for syncing my calendar and contacts. I can enter data in my Outlook Calendar and it will appear in iCloud, but data entered in iCloud does not sync back to Outlook.  ICloud syncs to my iphone fine both ways.

I use Win 7 PC with iCloud and Outlook 2010 for syncing my Contacts and Calendar.  They have stopped syncing...mostly.
Now, appointments I enter on my local Outlook (iCloud) Calendar goes up to iCloud fine.  But, data I enter on iCloud directly does not come down to my local Outlook iCloud Calendar.  If I reboot the computer, the iCloud data shows up.
Also, Contacts I try to enter on my Outlook (iCloud) Contacts goes up to iCloud fine, but does not show up in my local iCloud Contacts.
All syncing works with my iPhone.
I have signed out of iCloud on PC.  I have stopped syncing and re-started.  No change.
I have an .aplzod folder for iCloud.  I have a separate Earthlink.net.pst email account in Outlook and a me.com.pst Outlook email account (which I don't actually use) listed under Data Files.
Any help would be appreciated.  Curious that Outlook will upload to iCloud but not receive downloads unless I reboot.  However, rebooting does not download the missing Contacts.

    Hi Jim!
You've started off with some good troubleshooting steps, so let's see if we can take this a little further and figure out what the issue is with your iCloud contacts and calendars. I have two articles here that will help you troubleshoot this issue a little further, but the troubleshooting steps for both articles are exactly the same, so I will lay those out for you here:
Note: When using iCloud Control Panel 2.0 and later, iCloud Calendar event descriptions in Outlook 2010 do not support text formatting (bold, italics, or underline), HTML, images, or attachments. The contextual (right-click) menu has also been disabled.
If you are having trouble with a PC (with Outlook 2007 or 2010) and iCloud Calendar, try each of these steps, testing after each to see if the issue is resolved:
Verify that you are using a Windows configuration that is supported by iCloud. For more information, see iCloud system requirements.
When enabling Calendars in the iCloud Control Panel, part of the setup process is to copy your Calendars data from the default Outlook ".pst" file to iCloud, and then remove the Calendars from the ".pst" file by placing them in the Deleted Items folder in Outlook. The Calendars data is then stored in the iCloud data set within Outlook so that changes can be pushed to and from Outlook by iCloud. Be sure you are looking for your data within the iCloud dataset within Outlook after enabling Calendars in the iCloud Control Panel. The deleted files can be seen by viewing Deleted Items within your Outlook Folder List. This is not iCloud removing your data; iCloud simply copies your data into the iCloud data set and then removes the local Calendars data by placing it in the Deleted Items folder.
Make sure your computer is online. Attempt to view www.apple.com and iCloud.com. If you can't connect to the Internet, your iCloud calendars and events will not update in Outlook. Click here for more information about troubleshooting your Internet connection.
Open a secure website to test if you are online as is necessary for iCloud Calendar. This also tests if the ports 80 and 443 are accessible. Outlook requires port 443 access to iCloud in order to push and pull updates to and from the iCloud Calendar servers.
Verify that your iCloud member name is entered into the iCloud Control Panel pane. See iCloud Setup for more information about setting up iCloud on Windows.
Completely close and reopen the iCloud Control Panel.
If you recently made changes in Outlook and they are not moving to your other devices or vice-versa, click the Refresh button in Outlook.
Turn iCloud Calendar off and back on:
    Close Outlook.
    Open the Windows Control Panel:
In Windows 8, move the pointer to the upper-right corner of the screen to show the Charms bar, click the Search charm, and then click the iCloud Control Panel on the left.
In Windows 7 and Vista, choose Start menu > All Programs > iCloud > iCloud.
Remove the checkmark in the checkbox next to Mail, Contacts, Calendars & Tasks, and click Apply. Wait a few seconds, then replace the checkmark, and click Apply.
Open Outlook and test to see if the issue has been resolved.
Ensure the iCloud Outlook Add-in is active within Outlook.
    Outlook 2010:
    Open Outlook 2010.
    Click the File menu.
Click Options in the left panel of the Outlook window.
Click Add-Ins in the left panel of the Outlook Options window.
Look at the list of add-ins beneath "Active Application Add-Ins" and verify that the "iCloud Outlook Add-in" is listed.
For Outlook 2007, follow these steps to verify the iCloud Outlook Add-in is active
    Open Outlook 2007.
From the Tools menu, choose Trust Center.
Select Add-ins from the left column.
Look at the list of add-ins beneath "Active Application Add-Ins" and verify that the "iCloud Outlook Add-in" is listed.
For additional information about managing Add-ins with Microsoft Outlook, see this Microsoft support document.
Restart your computer. This may sound simple, but it does reinitialize your network and application settings and can frequently resolve issues.

  • ICloud mail and Windows RT 8.1

I've checked and used ALL instructions which describe different ways of using iCloud mail on a Windows RT 8.1 tablet.
    I've got following results:
    Standard Windows RT Mail client
can't configure icloud mail at all (both using pxx-imap.mail.me.com/pxx-smtp.mail.me.com and just imap.mail.me.com/smtmail.me.com)
    Outlook 2013 on Windows RT
SMTP - I'm able to connect to SMTP server pxx-smtp.mail.me.com (with port 587 and TLS enabled) and can send a test message
IMAP - I'm not able to connect to IMAP server (both pxx-imap.mail.me.com and imap.mail.me.com) with port 993 and different security settings: "None", 'TLS", "SSL" or "Auto". Though different security options give different failures:
With "None" enabled I'm getting an error from server saying, that I can't connect withou encryption
With "SSL" enabled I'm getting an error "Connection timeout expired"
With both "TLS" and "Auto" I can't get any errors at all - Outlook 2013 is trying to connect to IMAP server forever and is nether connecting neither dropping connection
Obviously, I can't install iCloud for Windows (since there is no iCloud application for Windows RT).
P.S. I've found an advice to remove any special characters from password, but I suppose, this is not the case, because I can connect to SMTP server, so the password is OK.
Since Windows 8.1 is rather strange OS, I've tried another non-Apple device (android phone) and get the same results as with Outlook 2013.
So my question is: is it possible to use iCloud mail with non-Apple device (and if the answer is "yes" - how should I set things up) or it is really impossible (and I should probably exchange my Surface RT for a new iPad) ?

DOOOHHHHH!!!!  I didn't realize it only syncs with Outlook 2007. I am still on 2003, I am poor. Wonder what I can find out there from FOSS which is like Microsoft Outlook. Thunderbird? Maybe there is a way to sync it somehow with my Gmail online? Who knows, just want to make sure I have my 2,000+ contacts backup'd up in multiple places as a fail safe. Been collecting em since I got a Palm Pilot back in 1997!! Everything is still with me, LOL. "iCloud requires iOS 5 on iPhone 3GS or later, iPod touch (3rd and 4th generation), iPad, or iPad 2; a Mac computer with OS X Lion; or a PC with Windows Vista or Windows 7 (Outlook 2007 or 2010 or an up-to-date browser is required for accessing email, contacts, and calendars). Some features require a Wi-Fi connection. Some features are not available in all countries. Access to some services is limited to 10 devices."

  • Is there a set up tutorial for using Outlook with iCloud

I am using Outlook on my PC (windows 7 and Outlook 2010)
    1. Is there a set up tutorial for using Outlook with iCloud?
    2.  Please clarify, I don't need to set up a XXX@me email account to get iCloud to sync with Outlook, correct?
    3.  My emails appear to by syncing, but the Outlook Calendar does not sync its Pre-Cloud entries with my Iphone and IPad.  Is this what is to e expected?
    4.  If I put a calendar entry on my PC's Outlook Calendar, it should sync with my Iphone and Ipad correct?  Again, what about entries that were made in Outlook before I signed up for iCloud?
I am hoping there is a simple step by step tutorial somewhere, because I am pretty disappointed with Apple about how confusing this is all becoming.

    Hello:
Sorry I can't bring you a solution but I am surprised your mail is working. Many of us with outlook 2010 seem to be having trouble sending. It seems apple's Pxx-smpt.mail.me.com server is rejecting the loging. I have tried it on three PC's with Win7 and Outlook 2010. It simply does not work after installing from the iCloud control panel. I have also manually configured the servers, encryption method, etc to no avail.
On the positive side, Calenda and contacts does work. First time around, the claendar duplictaed everything but I manually cleans it out. The iCloud calendar is a seperate calendar in Outlook. It seems to perform a sync with your local calendar one time. From them on, I beleive you need to use the iCloud calendar to have the same appointments show on each device. I renamed the defaut iClouds calendar to "iCloud Calendar". It's definatelly confusing and not seamless. It would be nicer to sync your OL calendar permenantly so you don;t see two or more.
Let me know your settings for iCloud email on Outlook. Try sending an email from the @me.com account.
    Thanks,
    Kevin
