Adding pages to comic book

I'm trying to make a project using Commic Book. It only seems to give me the option for 2 pages: "Comic Book Issue" and "Directed By." How can I add more pages that use the comic book template????
Thanks
Peter

If you make a project using the Comic Book Theme, then under Titles, you have the first two rows of Titles you can use and stay consistent with the theme: Comic Book, Credits 1, Credits 2, Credits 3, Lower Third 1,2 and 3, and Simple.
Then, in the Transitions, you can use Comic Book 1,2,3, and 4. So you have at least 12 ways to use the Comic Book theme before repeating.

  • Missing fonts warning when adding pages to a book

I have a book with 13 documents added and 105 total pages. I have 10 master pages set up, and each time I add (or delete) pages to a document, I get warning: "The document <doc>.indd needs to be updated but has missing fonts. It may recompose with a default substitute font and result in inacurate page numbers. Do you want to continue updating numbering?"  If I click OK to continue updating the numbering, sometimes an extra page gets added somewhere else in the document. Preflight Book is not showing any errors and I also tried looking at the preflight panel in each of the 13 documents. Neither says anything about a missing font. How else can I find it? Thanks!

It could be in overset text (though preflight should see that) or in a style not currently in use. Are you sure the priflight profile is looking for missing fonts, bucasue is really does sound like there is substitution ocurring. Also, have you looked in Type > Find Font.
If none of that is fruitful, I'd try exporting each of the documents to .inx or .idml, then opening those and saving as new .indd docs. Add the new docs to a new book and see if you still get errors.

  • In iPhoto '11 I cannot change the book settings. For example, adding page numbers. There is no "option" button as is suggested by the help item.

In iPhoto '11 I cannot change the book settings. For example, adding page numbers. There is no "option" button as is suggested by the help item. How can I change to book settings?

The "options" button should appear at the bottom of the iPhoto window, when you view your book, then the Book Settings Button should be available and you can activate page numbers.
But remember, that the settings available will depend on the Book Theme you selected. The above shows the settings for one of the "Travel" themes. In a Picture Book Theme, e.g. you cannot add page numbers.
What theme and book size are you using?

Photoshop for line cleanup, inking, flats and coloring, and a few people use it for text.
Illustrator for creating text boxes and lettering, and some people use it for layout.
InDesign for layout and publishing, and some people use it for text effects as well.

  • Adobe for making comic book pages

    Best Adobe product for me?
Afternoon,  I am a graphic novel writer & comic designer.

Well, definitely not Acrobat (this is the Acrobat forum).
Pros don't use one program, and a huge beginner mistake is to try and find that one program that pros use and then try to do everything in it. All three of the products you mention are used:
Photoshop - raster drawing; dealing with scans; preparing web graphics
Illustrator - vector drawing and decorative text
InDesign - not an artists tool, used to assemble content make in Photoshop and Illustrator, and create bodies of text.
Some artists design on the computer (which is every bit as artistic, but a different skill than working on paper)
Some artists design on paper and just scan
Some mix, e.g. outline on paper, colour and letter on screen.
I recommend an introductory hands-on course where you get to see the basics of all three.

  • IPad comic book CREATOR?

I've searched like crazy for an app like this, but all I get are "readers". Is there such an app where you can create your own comics on the iPad?
There's already TONS of drawing/sketch apps, why not comic book creators with editable panels and talk bubbles?

I created a children's picture book using the ipad app,  Book Creator. It was fairly easy and I also added interactive sound buttons. Designed the pages in Illustrator and Photoshop,  transferred to my ipad and added into the app. Here is a link to Cutest Book Ever on iBooks: https://itunes.apple.com/us/book/cutest-book-ever!/id550927129?mt=11&ign-mpt=uo% 3D4

  • HOW TO VIEW PAGE OF ONLIE BOOK IN PDF FILE

i HAVE A PDF FILE THAT i AM TRYING TO OPEN AND READ IT IS A ONLINE MANUAL THAT ONLY SHOWS 8 PAGES OF A BOOK THAT IS ABOUT 400 PAGES CAN i VIEW THE RESET OF THESE PAGE BY CONVERTING THE FILE OR NOT?

I just figured out how to view the body of the SOAP error. (I just needed to cast the Exception as a SOAPFaultException to view the details).
This is the error I consistently get: Internal Error: Session is not available. Aborting. (SBL-ODU-01006)
So now my question - has anybody else run into this?
I log in - get my session id. Try to call a method and get (2 or 3 times in a row) this 'Session not available' error and then it works. I try and make another method call and get 2 or 3 more 'Session not available' errors.
I thought it might be a timing issue (where I am making too many requests/second) so I added a little 'sleep' time between method calls with no difference in response.
    Ideas?

  • Best way to create a comic book ebook

I've been assigned the chore of creating ebooks for my company's line of comic books. Many of the comic books have spreads that get chopped in half in single page PDFs, and if you view them as "two page continuous cover" mode the spreads still get split up... so, what's the reccomended way to create an ebook where the spreads need to be preserved? Put a blank page at the beginning? Run the spreads out as "spreads" and the rest of the pages as single pages? Any tips by a professional ebook maker would be appreciated!

Creating the form itself is really only half the job.
You can have a marvelous form created using html and DW's built in form items. Those items can be in a table, or not, that part is up to you. The next step is making the form "do something".
The simplest way to make a form work, is a mailto: link in the form action attribute, but it's the absolute worst way to go. Mailto: links require the viewer to have an email client installed and set up on the computer they're using to submit your form. If they don't (as in the case of Gmail, htomail, yahoo, etc mail users) when they click Submit, absolutely nothing will happen.
Another drawback of using a mailto: link for your form submission is that email address is now open to every spam email harvester on the internet. If you like certain "blue pill emails" then there wouldn't be an issue, but if you are like the majority of society, you won't be sending funds to any Nigerian doctors either and won't want to be spammed constantly.
Personally, I use the Formmail script, available for free at http://www.tectite.com for pretty much all of my html forms. As long as your server has PHP installed (most do) the Formmail script will work very well for you. They have a ton of "How To" info on their site and the script itself is very robust with loads of features you can use, or not, at your discretion. They also have a very well documented troubleshooting section and a searchable forum that take care of the most common issues you run into.
Your next step is "find out what server scripting language you have available on your server". From there, you'll need to find/write a compatible script, then attach your form to it.

  • Adding Pages Dynamically

I want to be able to add a Page dynamically to a Book.
In the Portal JavaDocs, there is a method called addPage() which is part of
    the following class :-
    com.bea.netuix.servlets.controls.page.Book
Problem is, this class doesn't seem to exist ?
Anyone have any ideas on this ?
    Thanks

Maybe I'm missing something but I was under the impression that a .Portal
file is in fact a Desktop ?

I assume you are using a desktop and not a .portal file...
You can add a page to a book via two ways - depanding an what you want yououtcome
    to be
If you are an Admin and want to add it to a book in the Library (outsidethe context
of a desktop) and want it to effect all desktops that include this bookthen you
want the follwoing method on BookDefinitionManager:
    * <p>Add a Navigable definition (BookDefinition or PageDefinition) toan
    existing BookDefinition.
    * @param customizationContext customization information such asprefered
    locales and desktopInstanceId
    * @param bookDefinitionId the book definition to add the navigableto.
    * @param navigableDefinitionId the definition id of the navigabledefintion
    from which to add.
    * @param position the position in the book (or menu) to insert thisnavigable
    (starts with 0)
    * @param alignment position the page from the left (top) or right(bottom)
    * @return the Navigable instance which was created.
    * @throws ObjectNotFoundException BookDefinitionId or theNavigableDefinitionId
    are bogus.
    * @throws NotEntitledException if the caller does not have therequired permissions
    to delete this object.
    * @throws IllegalDependencyException adding the Navigable to theBookDefinition
    would cause a recursive dependancy
    * @throws DuplicateObjectException if this navigable is already addedto
    this book
    * @see com.bea.netuix.application.view.BookView#ALIGNMENT_LEFT
    * @see com.bea.netuix.application.view.BookView#ALIGNMENT_RIGHT
    public NavigableInstance addNavigable(CustomizationContextcustomizationContext,
    BookDefinitionIdbookDefinitionId,
    NavigableDefinitionIdnavigableDefinitionId,
    int position,
    int alignment,
    boolean isDefault)
    throws RemoteException, ObjectNotFoundException,NotEntitledException,
    IllegalDependencyException, DuplicateObjectException;
If you are and end user or and admin and want to effect only the acertain desktop
then you want the following method on PortalCustomizationManager
    * <p>Create an new instance of a <code>NavigableView</code> (BookViewor PageView)
    from the supplied
    * NavigableDefinition object.</p>
    * @param desktopDefinitionId the desktop context to which this updateapplies.
    * @param bookInstanceId the book instance to add the navigable to.
    * @param navigableDefinitionId the navigable defintion id from whichto create
    the instance.
    * @param position the position in the book (or menu) to insert thisnavigable
    (starts with 0)
    * @param align position the page from the left (top) or right (bottom)
    * @return the NavigableView instance which was created.
    * @throws ObjectNotFoundException BookDefinitionId or theNavigableDefinition
    are bogus.
    * @throws IllegalDependencyException adding the Navigable to theBookInstance
    would cause a recursive dependancy
    * @throws MissingDataException missing vital data in theNavigableDefinition.
    * @throws NotEntitledException if the caller does not have therequired permissions
    to delete this object.
    public NavigableInstance addNavigable(CustomizationContextcustomizationContext,
    DesktopDefinitionId desktopDefinitionId,
    BookInstanceId bookInstanceId,
    NavigableDefinitionIdnavigableDefinitionId,
    int position,
    int align)
    throws RemoteException, ObjectNotFoundException,MissingDataException,
    NotEntitledException, IllegalDependencyException;
Note: If you are and Admin and want to efffect all users try
setting your visitormode to false on your CustomizationContext.
    customizationContext.setVisitorMode(false);
Also: if you are doing this from a backing file and you want the change totake
effect for that request you will need to do a redirect back to the portal, otherwise
you wont see the change until the next request

  • Web Comic Book help

    Hello
Can anyone suggest a good way to put up a web comic? Is there a program or plugin that can navigate the Previous / Next buttons? Or do I need to create this on my own in iWeb? I have played around with the slideshow option, but the image size too small.
I need a simple way of doing this. I can draw, write, etc, but ask me about HTML I am clueless.
Any help here would be great.
    Thank you.

I can think of two possible ways you could add your comic book(s) to iWeb.
1 - use Issuu.com. An example of an online document can be seen here.
2 - a similar effect can be had using the PageFlip flash presentation (sort of like Issuu) as shown in this demo page: PageFlip.
I think Issuu would be easier to use although I've not used it. Roddy as an example of a PDF thru Issuu this this page of his iWeb for Musicians site: Publish a Promo PDF on ISSUU. Music optional of course.
Or you can put one comic page on an iWeb page and create your own text based hyperlinks to the next or previous page.
In case you might be interested in some flash types of presentations:
    SimpleViewer and Flash Album Exporter
Flash Album Exporter Postcard and AutoViewer Slideshow Themes
Jalbum - has over 100 different themes/skins for presentation.

  • Very Simple Question - How to change to lower case in Comic Book Theme

I have a site I have created in iWeb08 and used the Comic Book theme but I cannot change the text on the main page to lower case. I have copied and pasted text in and its always UPPER CASE. I have tried changing the font to no avail. I made a new blank page and typed in and again its UPPER CASE. I can change the font to something else (eg Arial) but whatever I type - its in upper case. Can this be changed. It is OK on other themes. Many thanks.

Bingo. Many thanks. Did not spot that there.

  • ID CS2 Windows XP Pro - How long should adding pages take?

I am using InDesign CS2 in Windows XP Pro. I have an ID book file with 13 sections, approximately 20-25 pages in each section. There are approximately 4,000-5,000 images on the pages (total on all pages). I am using auto page numbering and am trying to add three blank pages to the beginning of the second section. It's been working for about two hours so far to make the change. Is this normal? I'm a Macintosh guy, so I'm not sure how long this process should take on a Windows machine. When I open the task manager, it says that InDesign is using 47-54% CPU (it fluctuates between 47 and 54%). I've quit all other apps (except system-related), even though they weren't using any of the processor, but it hasn't sped things up. In the menu bar at the top of the main ID window, it says "not responding," but I've seen that before and then it's started working again.
Is this normal? How long should I wait? I know adding an odd number of pages means that items on pages in the sections after the one to which I'm adding pages have to be shifted from right-hand pages to left-hand pages, but should it be taking this long?
I appreciate any input or suggestions. Thank you.
    Lloyd Lathrop

    Guys,
Thanks for the replies. I'm actually not sure how these files were set up (before I was here), and I haven't dug into them yet, but I'm trying to fix them (each book file is a 300-page catalog, and we have 10 catalogs...pray for me!). I thought there were 2GB of RAM, so that's one place to start. I'll try to add the pages with all the other sections closed first. I went through each section and they almost all had "sections" beginning on an internal page within the section in addition to the first page of the section. I want "automatic page numbering," so I unchecked "start section" (or whatever it says) on those internal pages.
I'll requisition more RAM and keep plugging away. Thanks for the suggestions.

  • Creating manga comic book black background (help)

    hi all. new user here.
i have to create a 24 x 36 inch posterboard and i want to put /images/ "in" /cells/ like in a manga comic book. basically i want to have variously sized and variously proportioned WHITE AREAS (with a slightly rounded corners, not square) and then the area between these cells (for instance 1/8" spacing) to be all black.
then I would place images /behind/ the white rounded cells.
does that make sense? I have had success doing a normal board on an all white background (with some help) while using the demo of InDesign and I am wondering if anyone can help me get started with a description of how I might do this and some Adobe InDesign terminilogy that goes along with this so I can read up about the commands in the Help documentation.
thanks in advance for any help with this.

Your background is going to be an "unassigned" frame (drawn with the rectangle tool -- the one without the X in it). Do you understand bleed? As far as the fill color, that would depend on how this is going to be printed, and if there is other color on the page. It will look better as a "rich black" which is a four-color mix, but you pay more for four-color prints than just black and white. If you are using a rich black, the exact formula can vary widly depending on the printing method (and I would ask the printer for a recommendation), but a pretty "safe" mix would be 50c, 40m, 40y, 80k. You will want to put this on its own layer at the bottom of the stack and lock the layer to avoid inadvertently using the frame to hold something (see below). you can create this first, then make a new layer on top, or do it last and drag it to the bottom of the stack.
Your image frames are drawn with the frame tool (the one WITH the X) . You could create an Object Style for them that includes the corner effect to save time. Frames drawn with the frame tool do not respect stroke and fill settings, but one of the nice things about ID is that your unassigned frames can be used to hold text or graphics, so you can also add a fill color to the object style and use the Shape tool (the same one you use for the background) instead of the frame tool if you find you need the white fill. And yes, you can copy and paste these smaller frames, or add them to a library, or save some sizes as snippets in a folder to drag into your poster. You can save a "blank" poster (just the background and the empty "cells" as a template and use the same layout for as many posters as you like, too.
You will Place the images into the cells, unless you need to combine text and image (not already combined in the image) in the cell. For that you would place the image someplace convenient, like the pasteboard, and add text in a text frame or a text frame you've drawn to look like a speech baloon, then position the two as you want them relative to each other, select both, group, cut, select the cell frame, and "paste into."
You'll find the online help at http://help.adobe.com/en_US/indesign/cs/using/index.html
I also recommend you buy a copy of Sandee Cohen's Visual QuickStart Guide to InDesign since you seem to be a real beginner.

  • Table of Contents adding pages

    Hi there,
So my issue is this. I updated my  Table of Contents to include my Index Title. Only 1 items uses that paragraph style (the Index Title generated at the end of the book). The problem is, when I now try to update my ToC it adds approximately 28-30 pages. And not just adding pages, but some before and some after the foreword. It's messing with the text, but not images, and I can't just delete the pages as this messes up the entire book.
Any suggestions on what to do to add the index name to my ToC without adding pages, or if you've encountered the problem and I'm just SOL, I'd appreciate a reply.
    Thanks!
    Shawna

    Hi junius49
    Welcome to the forum.
Unfortunately Pages' TOC function and formatting are fairly basic.
There is no way I know of applying character styles to portions of text and as the text is not directly selectable you can't just edit it.
The only way round this would be to export the TOC text and bring it back in as regular text without the links.

  • HELP NEEDED with flash interactive comic book

    Hi folks
    I am really stuck here.
I am creating an interactive comic book for college. I want a menu, which will house all four issues of the comic series. When you click and drag an issue to the drag area I want that issue of the comic to appear. Then all I need is a button to turn the pages. Pressing the final turn page button will return to the main menu again. If someone can help me Id appreciate it as this thing needs to be in for monday/tuesday.

At this stage I've only been able to make the issue snap to the read me button but I have no idea how to make sure that action leads to the first page of that comic issue.
