Adding phone contacts

A few times, when I've added a phone contact, I couldn't find it in my phone contacts. I only found it when I switched to all contacts. When I switched back to phone contacts it wasn't there. I added the contact while was in the phone contact 'only' mode. How do I get it from 'all' to show up in the phone contact only list???

yes of course, they've all been saved to a group "On my phone"
now i did just change where they automatically save too, iCloud, instead of my phone.
so now how i can i switch over all the contacts in the "On my phone" group to my icloud?

Is it because the new itunes looks different.

Then it should work just the same as on your old computer.

  • Since the upgrade to IOS7, the default phone label when adding new contacts on my iPhone 5 is "Radio".  Previously the default was "Mobile" how can this be changed back to "Mobile"?

Since the upgrade to IOS7, the default phone label when adding new contacts in my iPhone 5 is "Radio". Previously the default was "Mobile". It is a hassle as when my iPhone contacts are synched with Outlook via Exchange, the phone number I've entered on the iPhone doesn't show on the default Outlook view as it is a "Radio" number rather than a "Mobile", "Work", "Home", etc number. It is still stored both on the iPhone & in Outlook & I can still use the number to phone or SMS, it is just incorrectly labelled & hence the source of frustration.
Apple please return the default to "Mobile" or alternatively find a way we can alter the default ourselves to "Mobile" or "Home" etc.

  • Just got my first iPhone, an iPhone5. I added the contacts via my Mac, but the phone on its own added my 5000 Facebook friends as contacts and won't let me delete them. How can I delete them? Thanks.

I just got my first cell phone, an iPhone5.  I added my contacts via my Mac.  But the phone on its own imported the contact info of all 5000 of my Facebook "friends."  When I go to one of them, hit edit, and try to delete them, the phone tells me that I cannot delete a Facebook friend.  This is a nightmare.  Please, I beg you, tell me how I can get these Facebook friends off of my contacts list.  Thank you!

    Try This...
Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...

  • How do I sync phone contacts with (into) gmail contacts?

I'm using 3 different GMAIL accounts via my phone. Each GMAIL account (accessed via the web) has their own contact list. There are also some (many!) contacts that can only be accessed via my phone - that is, the information does not show up via web access in any of the three GMAIL accounts.
Is there a way to sync / export all phone contacts in to one particular GMAIL account?
I've tried Verizon Backup Assistant, but this did not fix the problem. I think all it did was back up (to backup assistant) about ~650 of my ~1700 contacts.
    Many thanks!
    Melissa

certainly, export each contact list, #1, #2, #3, then import all 3 into the one email account you select & only have that gmail account doing the sync.
ba is limited to 1000 & only does phone numbers, email must be added manually.
    fwiw:
i use both with ba as the primary but anything i enter into gmail contacts, on the pc, is on the phone immediately because i only sync contacts & calendar, gmail isn't my primary email.

  • Want to type in my phone contacts with my computer (NOT tiny buttons on phone)

OK so I do not use Outlook or Yahoo or any of the like type services and even if I did, it would just be email addresses and not phone numbers.  I need to input all my phone contacts (about 200) into my 8330.  I cannot fathom how long it is going to take using those tiny buttons on the phone itself (seeing as how my big fingers hit like 2 or 3 buttons every time I try to hit a letter while texting and I have to constantly delete and it takes forever).  I dont care about adding email contacts into the phone.  I want some way to type in phone numbers on the computer then sync that info into the phone's contact list.  I have tried to find such a function on the desktop software, but I don't think it has anything like that.  Should I just bite the bullet and start typing in contacts with the tiny buttons on the phone?  WOW, what a pain, you'd think RIM woulda made this easier.

P.S.  If I did go through the trouble of trying to set up some kind of Yahoo or Outlook (which aparently I'd have to pay extra for, sheesh!) account, woudl that just do email contacts or phone numbers too?  (trying to figure out why on earth I'd type my friends' phone numbers into my email list?).  Secondly, if I did that, would that foold my inbox with text notifications?...  or my phone with email notifications?  I don't want email notifications on my phone, just phone calls, texts, pix, etc.

    Welcome to the forums
You have a few options available to you to make this easier. Depending on your desktop manager version and your computer's OS, you can import/sync contacts with the applications in this kb article: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB14730
Google sync can also do the same, but it is not included in the list. You need a google account and have to download the google sync app.
    Hope that helps.

  • Adding a contact photo to a contact on iPhone breaks ActiveSync to Exchange

This is a weird one... I have a user who has an original iPhone, we just upgraded her to 2.0 a week ago. She noticed that she lost her contact photos when we replaced her contacts with those stored on exchange. She added them back to the contacts on the phone and everything appeared fine. The problem came when she went to add an email address to a contact (which had a photo). It did not update on the iPhone.
Adding a contact on the iphone synced, and modifying a contact that did not have photo synced. Modifying a contact on the computer (one which was not syncing to phone) synced to webmail, so that part of the sync (desktop to exchange) was working. If you remove the picture, it starts syncing again. Issue persists in 2.0.1.
I will test on a iPhone 3G tomorrow and see if the problem persists on all phones and exchange accounts. Can anyone verify this on their setup? If it is not a problem for you are you using exchange 2007?
    Thanks!
    Setup:
    Exchange 2003 SP2
    Entourage 2004
    First Gen 8GB iPhone
    Workaround:
Either remove photos, or disable active sync for contacts, enable syncservices to sync to OS X address book, and sync via cable.

UPDATE: OK, today I tested with 3G iPhone, and there is no issue at all syncing (in fact, the contact picture appears as an attachment to the contact if viewed in webmail).
I then setup another 1st Gen iPhone to the same exchange server, add a photo to the contact, made a change to the contact, and have the same problem -- no sync after photo added, syncs when photo is removed. I even deleted (from Entourage) a contact that I had added a picture to on the phone, and that change did not go to the iphone until I deleted the photo (Waited about 5 minutes). About 20-30 seconds after deleting the photo on the contact, it recognized that the contact was deleted from the exchange side, and pushed the deletion to the phone where it when poof right before my eyes like it's supposed.
This is kind of baffling since you'd think the software is the same between the first gen and 3G after 2.0, but the problem is very re-creatable for me...]

  • Computer outlook contacts replace my phone contacts?  Every change I make in my pphone gets replaced with the outlook data and I lose all changes in phone contacts!

Everytime I synch my phone to outlook, all changes I have made to my phone contacts are lost.  My past experience with synching devices like blackberry, all changes in outlook and the phone were added to don't devices.  I am really tired of losing data! Please help.  I can't find anywhere to make changes to Itunes.  This is driving me crazy trying to replace lost data.

  • Don't want gmail and phone contacts synced

I have synced my s3 with my gmail account because I want to be able to check my email with my phone (like every other human). I don't, however, want my contacts synced because it puts many many contacts in my phone (everyone I have ever emailed). I just want phone contacts in the phone. How do I do this? Google has not been much help.

Another way is to turn off automatically adding email to your contacts. I email tons of different people and the only ones that show up in my contacts are the ones I put in my contacts. I do NOT automatically add emails to contacts as that is a completely useless feature for me.

  • How to show only phone contacts on Nokia 1650

I bought Nokia 1650 yesterday and have been trying figure out how I can have only contacts in the phone memory to show in contact list view.
Presently it shows both SIM and phone contacts. In my other phone I have opportunity of deciding on which one I want shown.
Is this possible in this model?

the interpretation of selection of memory is different in 1650. here the selection is applied to the new contacts which are saved in the phone book. if you have selected the phone memory and you are adding new contacts, those contacts will be saved in phone memory and not in sim memory. this selection of memory is no where related to display behaviour of phone book.

  • How can I get my phone contacts back from iCloud?

For an unknown reason, all my phone contacts got deleted. I have a back up in my Mac Book Pro but haven't found the way to get them my iPhone back. How can I achive so?

If they are on your MacBook, open contact on your Mac, click on All Contacts on the left-hand side, click on a single contact to the right and press Command-A to select them all (they should all be highlighted).  Then go to File>Export>Export vCard and save the file on your desktop.  Then email this file to yourself, open it on your iPhone and tap the attachment to import them back to your phone and to iCloud.
If you have multiple accounts on your phone you might want to first go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the Contacts section) and be sure this is set to iCloud.  This will ensure that the contacts will be added to iCloud when you import them.
