Adding photo to Word Document

The previous Photo Library allowed you to drag and drop your photo from the Photo Software straight into Word 2011.
'Photos' doesn't seem to allow me to do this.
And then when I go into word and try to insert a photo into the document the proper (long) way I can no longer browse the photos in the 'Photos' library its not an option...
How can I use access my photos to use in Word now? ...
Anyone else had this problem / have a solution or suggestion?

I'm having the same problem too after updating to latest version of Yosemite, with iphotos I could drag and drop to programs such as Pages, Thunderbird email messages, Garage Sale etc but with Photos I can find no way of doing this, I think it is a Photos issue rather than another program needing a update otherwise you would think it would work with Pages also being Apple?
Basic workaround I am using is instead of importing from memory card to Photos I import to a folder in Finder window instead and then I can drag and drop without a problem although this then makes photos app redundant
It is a shame as that was a great feature on iPhotos and hope they update soon

  • Can no longer see my I-photo photos, when trying to insert photo into Word Document.

    I had some computer problems and did upgrade to Snow Leopard from Leopard. Using older MacBook Pro.
    Now, when I try to insert a picture into a Word Document, I cannot see my photos!
    I am working in a word document, I choose "Insert Photo from my files" and when the window comes up so I can choose the photo to insert... when I select the "photos" choice under the Media section on the Left side of the box that comes up, the box to the right is BLANK, both on the top and bottom!  None of my photos come up for selection.
    This method to choose photos to insert into documents used to work before... now it is not.  After selecting "photos" all my photos would appear in the right box, and I would move through my I-photo events to choose my saved photo and insert it.  Yes, photos are showing and present in I-photo.  They just won't appear for importing.
    This is so frustrating, not to mention time comsuming trying to figure out what is going on and how to fix it.
    Can anyone help? Please?

    I do not see a way to disable the Picture Frame icon.  I looked at Settings-Picture Frame, but none of the options turns it off.  The only way I can thinik of, would be if all of your photos had been deleted.  If there were no photos, you couldn't have a slide show!
    One thing to try is to reset (reboot) your iPad.  Hold both the Home and Sleep buttons for several seconds until the Apple logo appears.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" arrow.  The iPad will restart after a couple of minutes.  Resetting this way will not hurt anything, and sometimes clears up mysterious problems.

  • Inserting photo into word document with new Yosemite OS X

    iPhoto has gone away after downloading the new Yosemite OS X program.  Now it is Photos.  I am attempting to drag or insert a picture into a word document for work.  Unlike the old iPhoto, double clicking on the photo does not allow me to "Copy" so I may then "Paste" on my document.  In addition, when I attempt to drag the picture onto the document where I want it, the picture goes right back to the photo library.  Tried pretty much everything I know and my tech guys from work.  Anyone have this problem or know of the solution?

    My photos are not in/on iCloud. In Microsoft Word 2011 I can use
         Insert > Photo > Picture from File ...
    and then navigate to the my 'Pictures' folder and insert a picture successfully.
    Can't find a direct way of going from Photos to Word. In practice, this is not a big issue for me because in most cases I want to reduce the size of the image, which I do by selecting the image(s) I want in Photos.app, then switch to Preview.app, command-N (New from clipboard). Once in Preview.app I can transfer images to Word by drag and drop from the thumbnails, etc. The neat thing about this workflow is one can select several images in Photos at once and have them all open in Preview with one keystroke.

  • Inserting my photos into Word document

    I am putting together a document of my family history and want to insert some photos I've taken into it. But the photos are each about 2.2MB - 2.9 MB and when I copied & pasted the photos into the Word doc the Word doc ended up at 124MB! W/out these photos the Word doc is 11MB!
    These are photos I've taken and are in my iPhoto. I've inserted other photos for which I don't have the original so I've scanned these and then inserted into the doc - they are much smaller and range from 24KB to 264KB depending on the size of the original. How do I get around this problem?
    Many thanks

    Terence
    Again thanks for yr advice. Having played around with the various options you gave in yr response to my other posting, I think the best method for me inserting my photos in the Word doc is to export to desktop as that way I can alter the size of the file.
    By scaling the photo to a smaller size, the file size is much smaller. I found if I just dragged the photo to the desktop and then into my Word doc, then the photo was still about 2.2MB. By scaling it down as it was exported, and then dragging into Word doc it was only 224KB.
    Does this approach sound right to you?

  • Adding photos to Pages document becomes to big for email

    Hi all,
    I want to use the Ipad with pages to make survey reports. But after adding pictures the document becomes to big for email.
    Anyone know a way to solve this?
    Thanks!
    Jake

    1 - are you able to view full size in iPhoto the photos that give you that message when trying to add to Pages?
    2 - are you using the Media Browser as Larry suggested?

  • Use Powershell to replace text with image in Word document

    I have a powershell script that uses a Word document as a template to create signatures that I am pushing out to my organization.
    The document is populated with text formatted the way I want the signature to look, that I then do a FindText and ReplaceText on.  This works fine for replacing text with text, but I can't figure out how to properly replace some of the holder text with
    an image and a link.  I found a few posts about adding images to word documents, but none that seem to work properly in this scenario.
    Any insight would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

    Dear BOFH,
    You are correct that method I outlined is not for inserting an image into a signature block (which would be in Outlook, not Word).  The links you post do certainly deal with outlook signatures, well done... Except that the question was about how to
    use a Powershell script to replace text in a Word document with an image.  Sure it was framed in the context of creating signatures, but the poster expressed that they already had a method of generating and replacing text, and just needed to know, as
    I did, how to do the thing they actually asked.
    Please BOFH... Please forgive my audacity in hoping to find a reference (any reference) to how to replace Word text with images via Powershell in a thread titled "Use Powershell to replace text with image in Word document".
    This is certainly a scripting question, and even something as simple as "You will need to call the .NET methods for the Word find/replace functionality.  Please ask in the Word forums for the correct method to use.
    If you need help on calling .NET methods look HTTP ://here"support you offered combined with the contempt you offer in response to my actual substantive help to the actual question asked.
    BOFH, you are not better than us, just more arrogant.
    Can you please start your own question as this one has been closed.  Please see scripting guidelines.

  • Storing Word Documents and pictures in Oracle

    Hi,
    We are using Oracle 8i and we need to store the Photos and Word documents uploaded from the front end.
    Can anyone suggest the best way to do so.
    Thanks in advance

    For this purpose,you can use BFILE or BLOB data types and then using OLE or specifying file name in insert statement you can achieve the result.

  • Programmatically adding a Word Document or PDF to a crystal report

    I am using Crystal XI for windows.  I have a VB.Net windows application that I am trying to insert a Word Document and/or PDF into.  I want to programmatically be able to add any file(s) to a crystal report.  Is there any sample code or guidance that can show me how to programmically add a file to a report?
    In the user interface, the user can click on unlimited number of PDFs, Word Documents... to insert into a Crystal Report.  Is this possible?   If so, please show steps and some sample code how to do this.
    Kind Regards,
    Jeff

    In this example, the ReportAppFactory gets initialized with the instance from the session object... If I am doing this in windows (not a web application), how would this change it if this is a windows application with no session object?
    I am connecting against an  ADO.Net (XML) file on the same computer - no connection information required... I just want to open the report file, SetDataSource to a dataset ...then do the other stuff in the example.  I think after I get past connecting to the data and opening the report, the rest of working with sections and adding ole objects I can get from the examples.  All of the sample code that I found are web based and don't show how to connect if you are windows based - not over a web page.
    I am not using a CMS or anything web / network based... I just want to connect to a local XML file that was generated from Visual Studio .Net 2005.   The example below is one of the Crystal Samples... they are all web based samples.  ...I am looking for a windows based sample to see how to connect and open a report file.
    Example:
            If Not (Session("boEnterpriseSession") Is Nothing) Then
                boEnterpriseSession = CType(Session("boEnterpriseSession"), CrystalDecisions.Enterprise.EnterpriseSession)
            Else
                'Log on to the Enterprise CMS
                boSessionMgr = New CrystalDecisions.Enterprise.SessionMgr
                boEnterpriseSession = boSessionMgr.Logon(Request.QueryString.Item("username"), Request.QueryString.Item("password"), Request.QueryString.Item("cms"), Request.QueryString.Item("authtype"))
                Session.Add("boEnterpriseSession", boEnterpriseSession)
            End If
            'get report object from session or create a new report object
            If Not (Session("boReportClientDocument") Is Nothing) Then
                boReportClientDocument = CType(Session("boReportClientDocument"), CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ClientDoc.ReportClientDocument)
            Else
                boEnterpriseService = boEnterpriseSession.GetService("", "InfoStore")
                boInfoStore = New CrystalDecisions.Enterprise.InfoStore(boEnterpriseService)
                boReportName = "SimpleRCAPIReport.rpt"
                'Retrieve the report object from the InfoStore, only need the SI_ID for RAS
                boQuery = "Select SI_ID From CI_INFOOBJECTS Where SI_NAME = '" + boReportName + _
                 "' AND SI_Instance=0"
                boInfoObjects = boInfoStore.Query(boQuery)
                boInfoObject = boInfoObjects(1)
                boEnterpriseService = Nothing
                'Retrieve the RASReportFactory
                boEnterpriseService = boEnterpriseSession.GetService("RASReportFactory")
                boReportAppFactory = CType(boEnterpriseService.Interface, CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ClientDoc.ReportAppFactory)
                'Open the report from Enterprise
                boReportClientDocument = boReportAppFactory.OpenDocument(boInfoObject.ID, 0)
                'First determine where to add - in this case the details Area
                boArea = boReportClientDocument.ReportDefController.ReportDefinition.DetailArea
                'Create the new section object
                boSection = New CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ReportDefModel.Section
                'Set the properties for the section
                boSection.Kind = CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ReportDefModel.CrAreaSectionKindEnum.crAreaSectionKindDetail
                boSection.Name = "Detail2"
                boSection.Height = 1000
                boSection.Width = 11520
                'Now add the section
                boReportClientDocument.ReportDefController.ReportSectionController.Add(boSection, boArea, -1)
                'Add the reportClientDocument to session
                Session.Add("boReportClientDocument", boReportClientDocument)
            End If

  • How can I drag multiple photos from iPhoto into a Word Document

    I'm creating a collage of photos for a friend and in order to get the photos to the right size and print them without trouble I need to drag all of the photos from a certain album in iPhoto into an empty word document. Is there a way to do this? If not, why not?

    It's best to drag one photo at a time from the open iPhoto window into the open Word document window.  Resize the photo.  Then drag the next one and resize.
    If you have iWork a better solution is to use Pages.  That way you can resize the drag the photos into any location on page, even overlapping other photos, whereas in Word it has to be on a separate line or small enought to fit two on a line. You can access the iPhoto Library from the Media Browser in Pages without iPhoto  having to be open.

  • My Canon MP620 just stopped printing text: it can print photos etc but when I send a word document (with a picture) it only prints the picture. Any ideas?

    Hi Everyone:
    I have a  Canon MP620 printer connected directly into my Airport base station. So far it has worked perfectly - I can print any type of document over the network from my MacBook Pro.
    Yesterday something weird happened. I have a resumé (as a word document) I was always printing but this time all that was printed was a photo and no text. I did a print preview and it looked fine. I converted to PDF and nothing was printed. I then created a brand new word document and again nothing was printed. I have no problem with images but for some strange reason no text  can be printed. All that happens is that the paper goes through and comes out blank.
    Any ideas?????
    Thanks a lot in advace!

    Hi,
    Tried all the cleaning programmes and it still will not print...I am lost.

  • My Macbook Pro 5.5 was slow.  I backed up word and  my photos and wiped it clean.  I reinstalled  Snow leopard but my IPHOTO ILIFE is missing.  I transferred word documents over and photo library but can't find IPHOTO anywhere.  How do i get it back?

    Hi All,
    I have a Macbook Pro, 5,5.  It's a few years old and was running slow.  My son backed up my Microsoft Office documents and my photos onto a thumb drive and ran 'wiped my computer clean'...using a disc that came with my computer.  (I am NOT computer savy at all).
    I was able to reinstall the Mac OS X install DVD that came with my Mac, but IPHOTO, ILIFE did not reinstall.  I transferred the word documents successfully, and my photos transferred to an icon on a 'library' on the desktop, but I can't use.  How do i get IPHOTO back?
    Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you so much for responding.  I will look for the other disks.
    One more question - I initially decided to do this because my Mac kept opening with the date changed to 2008, and I keep having to re - enter my Web key.  In addition, it was running much slower.  Since I 'cleaned' everything out, I thought all would work perfect.  This morning, the date changed to 2008; again AND it again asks for my Web key.  Does this mean my Mac has reached it's almost end or could I have a 'bug' on it?
    Again, thanks so much for your suggestions.

  • How do you embed a photo from photo stream or icloud in a word document.

    Hello can you tell me how to insert a photo from icloud or photo stream into a word document?

    Open the photo in your photo stream album, tap the arrow button on the upper right, tap Mail, send the email to yourself.  Open the email on your computer, then copy and paste the photo into your word document.

    i am sorry, i am new to mac plis

    I would certainly back up everything to an external drive, preferable a bootable clone using CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper! before installing Lion.
    You shouldn't have to reinstall yopur apps though.
