ADDING PHOTOS TO AN ALBUM

I have followed the User's Manual instruction regarding adding a photo to an existing album....without success. After I select the photo, then tap "add to", the screen changes to show all albums, however, they are all greyed out. Any suggestions?

I found out you can only add a photo to an Album that was created on your iPhone/iPad.

  • Adding photos to an album whilst zoomed in on the photo

I'm creating a few albums (first time, I've always worked in the Events, but need a little more flexibility) and when I'm adding photos I can easily drag them to the album name on the left when looking at the thumbnails in the event, but after double clicking and viewing them zoomed to fill the frame I have to back out of it and then drag the thumbnail in.
Is there a way to do this from the zoomed in photo to save this step?

If you remove the flag it doesn't delete the photo, just removes it from the smart Flagged album.

  • ITunes doesn't see new added photos in iPhoto Album

    Hello:
Am attempting to sync an iPhoto Album using iTunes on a iMac, 10.7.2 to an iP4 running iOS 5.1  Have successfully sync'ed this iPhoto Album to the iP4 for some time... Now, in iTunes, the number of photos in the Album does not agree with the count in iPhoto; iTunes does not see the photos I added in iPhoto today; so the sync doesn't put them on the phone. (Have used at least two methods to add these to the Album in iPhoto; it consistently shows them added and photo count incremented...)
    Any suggestions/help appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

OK...for anyone having this problem...  It seems that iMac/iPhoto may save image items with image extensions as "documents", not with a .jpg / image extension.  Even when I download them and use the "save as image..." menu choice.
Sorry for pulling the trigger on this so quickly, but importing an image using "save as image" led me to believe that Mac OS and iPhoto would tag it as such...it may not...in spite of the fact that iPhoto displays it as an image and recognizes it.
    Regards.

  • Viewing one photo at a time and adding that photo to an album

Typically I import photos from my camera into events, and then I take the best photos from the event and put them into an album named after that "event"
To do this quickly, I usually want to see the photo full screen (I just double click on a photo in an event and click next to browse)to check for quality, and then drag that photo to the album. For some reason you can't drag the single photo you're viewing to an album?
Any ideas? I hate having to open the photo, look at it, close it, then drag it to the album

Since you can't drag a photo when viewing in the large mode you can try the following:
1 - make sure the Info drawer on the right side is displayed.
2 - click on a photo and hit the Space bar.
3 - click on the Full Screen button at the lower left.
Now you're in full screen mode with the Info drawer at the right.
4 - either set the rating of the photo to one that you can use to group in a smart album (Command-1 for 1 star, Command-2 for 2 starts, etc.) or add a keyword that can also be used to group the photos in a smart album.
5 - use the right or left arrow keys on the keyboard to move to the next or previous photos.
6 - when complete go to the smart album and drag the photos into a regular album.

  • Some photos in my photo stream cannot be added to my iPad albums

    IPad 4 IOS 6.1.3 24Gb available memory
When I place, say, 50 photos in my photostream from my iMac, they all appear in the photostream on my iPad.
In iPad Photo, Photostream, I select edit and then select all 50 photos then 'add to existing album'. I select the existing album and photos are copied to that album, but only perhaps 48 photos are moved to the album. After identifying the missing photos and trying again those particular photos still won't copy to the album.
    Fault, or Feature? Help!

I have found that if I edit the missing photo (eg: crop) whilst it is in the photostream I can subsequently move the edited photo to the album (?????).

  • Adding photos to previously made web photo album

I have a web photo album made, I have text under all the thumbnails and on the pages. I would like to add photos to the album. I have made a second album with additional photos and can drag the thumbnails on the page and the pages into my previous pages but the pages do not link. Is this possible or do I have to rebuild the photo album and retype all the text, each time I place in a new photo.

Unfortunately that features has been deprecated ( http://www.adobe.com/aboutadobe/contact.html ).  So you will be able to edit it only by modifying the code.  If not there are a lot of photo gallery applications out there or extensions like those from Project Seven ( http://www.projectseven.com/ ).
Can you give us more information about your server (eg: scripting language, database type) or more information about how you are looking to show things and we can point you towards an extension, or jquery/spry solution, etc.

  • When i try to transfer photos from mac to iPad the albums that move over do not contain the same photos as the albums on the computer. extra photos are added and some do not move over at all

when  i try to copy albums or events from my computer to ipad 2, the transferred albums or events lack some photos from the original events but also contain other photos from differennt albums or events. i have tried rebuilding the thumbnails and repairing the database but none has made any difference. further if i try to import the entire library then again only  a small subset gets over.

Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Look there for the iPod Photo Cache.
Trash it. Start iPhoto and try sync again.

  • Photos Not Syncing; Photos Missing From Albums, No Error Message, Running iTunes for Windows & iOS 7.1.2

I am having an issue with syncing my photos on my iOS devices running iOS 7.1.2, the two being an iPhone 4s and iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G.
When I sync photos, I keep on having photos turn up missing from entire albums. I have tried everything I can to resolve this issue from the support article titled <a href="http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3697">iTunes: Unable to sync photos</a>, and nothing has successfully worked in any kind of permanent form. I have even gone so far as to sync albums individually with a limit of around 400-500 total photos per sync, (give or take), and tried using what very little options I have on the photos tab for my devices in iTunes to essentially trick the devices to sync the missing photos. Despite this, iTunes still fails to sync newly added photos from the source location.
I have even made the attempt of re-installing iOS 7 on both devices, and restoring from backup. Again with no avail.
My best guess for my iPhone is that as it is a 16 GB, not all of 15.6 GB of photos will sync to the device, (go figure), but that doesn't explain why recent photos aren't added OR why my iPad 2 of 64 GB has missing photos.
As of this post, I have an estimated 38,940 files, spread across 1,703 folders, (a large amount of folders being in some of the folders; from my knowledge never being more than two folders in). They are all in one dedicated folder on a hard drive I've dedicated to iTunes and music related files, (for the sake of AVOIDING this kind of nonsense, I might add).
As for the system OS and iTunes, I am running Windows 7 64 bit, and I am using iTunes 11.2.2.3, but will have updated to iTunes 11.3 by the time anyone responds.

I have the exact same problem.
Same kind of photos/videos taken with the same camera randomly sync.
    Did 11.3 fix this issue?
    Sincerely

  • Does iCloud Photo Library syncronise ALBUMS across devices?

It is not clear whether the iCloud Photo Library synchronises ALBUMS across iOS devices. NOT just photos - the Photo Stream does that but I have several dozen albums on one iPad and I want the to be recreated on another iOS devices automatically.
Can anyone actually answer this question? It seems simple enough.
Here is what I want to happen after configuring the system:-
The existing albums on iPad A appear on iPad B automatically.
Changes to an album on either A or B are reflected on the other device.
A new album created on either device appears on the other device.
    Am I doing something wrong?
    Thanks
    ELKAY

Ok. At last I have it. And as far as I can tell my problem can't be solved automatically
As far as I can tel. most existing Albums (which aren't in the iCloud) don't get re-created or synchronised. All albums on your iPad will be deleted (although oddly for me, there are three out of 70 that seem to have been kept).
Turning on iCloud Photo Library turns it on for all devices that have the same Apple ID, and that are  on a compatible version of the iOS. Any new album that is created on any device that is part of the iCloud photo library will be synced to other devices.
My approach has been to disconnect one of my iPads from the network which has all my albums and I will work through one album at a time recreating it and adding the selected photos to the album.
Much remains unclear (such as what happens to edits made on a iPad) and for a company whose story is all about ease of use, this has been a very opaque and nerve-racking experience - strating with the hair-raising message when you turn it on about deleting photos from iTunes. Before getting into the iCloud 'dream' I backed up all my photos from all devices to DropBox and from there to a USD drive.
The Photo-stream is another problem - no proper explanation of anything from the vendor - who knows where the images actually reside, and when they will disappear!
My next move is to look at Picasa as an alternative to this half-baked Apple vision.

  • How to add all photos in one Album

    Hi,
I bought iMovie yesterday and I have albums in photos application. I want to add all photos in one album to iMovie.
    Thanks
    Best Regards

They can only be added one at a time, a bit annoying but that's the way.
    Add photos
With your project open, scroll the project timeline so that the playhead (the red vertical line) appears over the location where you want to add the photo; you can move the photo later if you want.
If the playhead is resting over a video clip, the photo is added before or after the end of the clip closest to the playhead.
Tap the Media Library button , and then tap the Photos button at the bottom of the screen.
Tap Camera Roll, Photo Library, or an album, and then tap the photo you want to add.
To preview a photo before adding it, tap and hold the photo in the Photo browser until it appears in the pop-up viewer.
The added photo appears for a duration of 3 to 6 seconds, depending on the length of the transitions that appear before and after the photo, but you canchange this duration.
A Ken Burns effect is also applied to the image, which means the camera appears to sweep across and zoom in on the photo. You can adjust this effect. Go to Edit a photo to learn how.
You can ask Apple to fix this in the next update:

  • Syncing photos to iPad, showing wrong photos in every album

I have several albums in iPhoto that I regularly sync to two iOS devices.  Recently, something appears to have scrambled some the photos across the albums.  What I see on both my iOS devices are the albums from iPhoto I have selected to sync, but each of them (only on the iOS devices) have a handful of photos from other albums scattered throughout each album.
I have verified that the photos are not in those albums in iPhoto, and have taken the following steps to fix the problem:
Unchecked the albums from the iOS device in iTunes and resynced, then checked those albums in iTunes and synced again. The albums were duly removed from the iOS device, then re-added.  Again, the errant photos showed up.
Gone through the iPhoto albums carefully, selected "show hidden photos," and verified those errant photos are not showing in any of the iPhoto albums
Created new iPhoto albums with different album names, carefully moved just the photos I wanted into the new albums, checked only the new albums in iTunes and resynced the iOS devices.  This removed the old albums and added the new albums. This worked for the first sync (the new albums came across correctly), but subsequent syncs scattered the same errant photos back into the iOS device albums (not the new iPhoto albums)
So it appears something in the sync process is picking up some scrambled information and causing old photos to be displayed in the iOS albums which are not in the iPhoto albums.  But I cannot find anyplace to correct or rebuild those databases, or force only the new albums to remain clean.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

    iPhoto v 9.2.1 (628) running on a Mac Mini under OS X Lion v 10.7.2
    iPad 2 running iOS 5.0.1 (9A405)
    iPhone 4S running iOS 5.0.1 (9A405)

Found a solution, in a post to another user's question in a different thread:
Download iPhoto Library Manager (http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/) and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
That rebuild did what iPhoto's built-in rebuild apparently couldn't.  After it completed and iPhoto relaunched, I was able to resync to iOS devices and the errant photos were gone.
    Whew!

  • HT201317 Manually adding photos to Photo Stream

I've manually added photos to the upload photo from my windows desktop but they are not appearing on my iPhone's Photo Stream.  I think I have everything set up and turned on correctly...

Save any photo stream photos you want to keep to your camera roll, then turn photo stream off, wait a minute or two, then turn it back on.  To save them to your camera roll, open your my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll.

  • Do some photos get an album tag at import from iPhone?

I use Smart Album to find photos not organized into albums.  But some freshly imported photos don't show up in it.  Do they get an album from the import from iPhone?  It's weird, about half of the photos in any given import will be this way.

The shouldn't.  If you drag a photo or group of photos into the Album section during import a new album will be create for them as well as an event.  But normal importing shouldn't create any albums.  It could be that the smart album is "stuck" and needs a little push. Try editing the smart album, i.e. add another criteria, remove it and then save to see if that will jump start the newly added photos.

  • Adding photos to MobileMe galleries

If I create a MobileMe gallery from one of my albums, will the MM published gallery update whenever I add photos to the original album? Or do I add photos to the MM gallery directly?

but is the MobileMe album, when created from an Event, dynamically linked back to that Event,
    NO
MobileMe only updated from photos added to the MobileMe album in the source pane on the left - once you create the MobileMe gallery it and only it is inked to the MobileMe web gallery
It is not linked to the event
it is not linked to an album that may have been used to collect the photos for the gallery
it is inked to the MobileMe web gallery
MobileMe only updated from photos added to the MobileMe album in the source pane on the left
    Nothing else
I'm not sure how to make that more clear - but the only way to change the MobileMe gallery from iPhoto is to change the gallery in the MobileMe section of the soruce pane to on the left
