Adding photos to an iPad from different folders on PC

Hi there,
Is there a way of adding another folder of photos that iTunes can sync from?
I have a folder called iPad Pix that I use to sync photos and pix and I have another folder that I want to sync from but I use that folder for work as well.
I don't want to copy those pictures to the iPad Pix folder because I don't want duplicate files.
Is there a way to get iTunes to sync from another folder without deleting the first lot of pictures?

Thanks for that... I thought of that, of adding my iPad Pix as a subfolder of Pictures and syncing to Pictures but I remember many versions of iTunes' ago that I could add folders. Can I still do that or has that option gone? If the option doesn't exist then I suppose I will have to use folders and subfolders.
The thing is, I have iPad Pix as one folder then another folder of Pictures with various subfolders within it. It's a couple of those different subfolders I want to sync as well as iPad Pix and I don't want the hassle of moving and syncing specific folders etc... it really would be easier if I could sync more than one folder at the same time. Hope it's possible...

It seems like I need to put all the folders into one folder and point iTunes to that main folder.

Find software (which may not exist) to export them in a photo format (jpeg, tiff). IPhoto will not do it

You can sync from different folders if they are all sub-folders beneath a main one. If the main folder you are syncing from has sub folders they will show in the box below "Sync photos from folder". For example you may choose to sync from My Pictures and inside My Pictures you have folders for different subjects. You can choose which of those subject folders you want to update to the iPod or you might want to make a folder in there especially for iPod photos. You can drag these folders into an order of your choice.
Here's a simple "How To" on downloading photos from a folder and sub folders on your hard disk to an iPod:
1 Create a folder on your hard drive to hold the photos you want on your iPod. Call it iPod Photos for example
2 Inside this folder create as many other folders as you want (or drag and drop existing ones from other locations on your hard drive)
3 Drag the photos you want from your usual picture folder into the appropriate folders you just created. (not necessary if you are using pre-existing folders already containing photos)
4 Open iTunes, select your iPod in the iTunes Source list.
5 Click the Photos tab and select “Synch photos from.”
6 Choose “Choose Folder” from the pop-up menu and select the iPod photos folder you created.
7 Choose the radio button "Selected folders"
8 Tick the folders you want to go on the iPod and click Apply
When you go to Photos on your iPod you'll see each of the folders you have chosen in the menu and you can choose whichever one you want to view.

Actually, you can email up to 5 at a time from the Photos app. Select any more and the email share option will not appear.
If you explain why you need to email large numbers of photos, we might be able to offer an alternative.

Do you normally sync to a computer? I ended up in the same boat when I'd synced some photos on, then got a new computer and forgot to remove the photos. What I had to do was set up to sync an empty folder on my new computer, which basically erased the old photos, replaced them with the nothing that was in the new folder.

Does the Nikon use a SD card? if so, have you tried to simply pull the photos from the card?
If not, is your camera on when you try to transfer the files?
There may also be some settings on the camera to tweak.

Deleting pictures from camera roll and photo stream but not from other folders

I am new to I phone and using iPhone 5 with iOS 7.1.2.
I like to keep my photo folder organised and sorted. For example I created different folders on my iPhone for wallpapers, my personal pics and work pics.
Now after adding all these pics to their respective folders i deleted them from Camera roll and my photo stream ( thinking that they would still be in their folders) and now I am screwed, because everything is deleted .
Thankfully, I have the backup, but please can anyone help me to understand the difference between camera roll and my photo stream and how could i keep all my pics in different folders and just not in camera roll or my photo stream.

The way I do that is to organize them on my computer. I periodically import all of the Camera Roll to the computer. That is a good thing to do to insure you have a copy in case of loss of the phone or other problem, even if you backup the phone. Import can be done by methods described in iOS: Import personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
Once they are on the computer I organize them in iPhoto on my Mac. If you have a Windows computer you can organize them in folders. Once they are on the computer I delete them all from the Camera Roll on the phone to make it easier next time -- i.e., the Camera Roll always only contains the photos that I haven't yet organized.
I only want some of the pictures that I am keeping to be sent back to the phone, so in Windows I made a second copy of those (in iPhoto on a Mac I use Albums instead). I had a main folder (e.g. "Photos for iPhone") and subfolders (only 1 level below the main folder) with various topics. I am trying to copy photos from a recent vacation to my iPad2. The process was straightforward using iTunes until recently. Now I am getting a message warning me that if I sync photos from the folder on my PC to iTunes and my iPad, photos already on the iPad (except ones taken by the iPad) will be removed. I am running iOS 8.0.2 and the most recent iTunes update. I do not want to remove all the other photos from my iPad, so I cancel the sync. I have tried copying the photos using the Apple SD card connector, but it does not recognize my SD card (it does recognize an SDHC card, but I am unable to copy the photos to that card). Is anyone else gettinga message like what I describe above when trying to sync photos to an iPad2 in iTunes?

It is really a very simple fix. Place ALL of the photos that you want to sync to the iPad into one photos folder and sync that folder to the iPad. In your case, place the next set of photos that you want to sync, into the folder with the first set of photos that you already synced to the iPad. You can only sync from one main photos folder and if you choose another folder that does not include the photos that you previously synced, those photos will be erased from the iPad - as you have now discovered.
You can sync one level of sub folders with the main photos folder. You can have as many sub folders as you want (as long as you have the storage space available on the iPad) but you can only sync from one main photos folder. After you place all of the photos into the one main folder, when you go to the Sync Photos From drop down menu in iTunes, select that main photos folder and all of the sub folders that you placed in there will appear and you can select each sub folder to sync as well.

I have an iPad with photographs that have been put on from someone else and I want to add more photographs from my pc and other devices but when i do this and sync the iPad to iTunes all the original photographs go awol. Am I correct in saying that when I sync to my iTunes ALL photographs have to be in my iTunes account .

Photos that are synced from a computer can't be deleted directly in the Photos app, instead they are removed by not including them in the next photos sync - so you need to select and sync all the photos that you want on your iPad in each photo sync, you can't sync one set of photos and then sync a second set, you need to sync both sets together.
Or you could use a third-party photo management app on your iPad e.g. Photo Manager Pro - that app allows you to copy photos to/from your computer and the iPad's Photos app, and any photos that you already have in the app aren't removed when you copy more photos to it. How do import into LR mobile photos on my iPad from an SD card?

i used an apple adaptor to import photos onto my iPad Mini from an SD card. Photos were taken with a Canon S100. The iPad recognizes thephotos but when I open LR Mobile on the iPad these photos are not to be found. LR also doesnt recognize a lot of other photos on the iPad.

Deleting All Photos Saved On IPad From SD Card ?

I like to save photos and videos on my IPad when I'm out and about, using the camera connection kit.
I copy my pictures to my laptop separately (the IPad is just for viewing and backup) when I reach home.
At this point (photos safely stored on laptop, desktop AND backup car), I'd like to delete the photos from my IPad.
How do I do this ? I know I can delete them individually but there are far too many - I need to be able to delete "all imported".
I can't find a way to do this either on the IPad or in iPhoto or iTunes when I connect to my mac.

I believe you can use the Image Capture application on your MacBook Pro to delete the photos on your iPad. Image Capture is a great program, and very useful for handling photos on the iPad. I think you can simply select the photos you want to delete and delete them straight away.

My dad just got an ipad and we're trying to sync pictures from multiple computers. He's already synced pictures from his computer. But there are some pictures on my computer that he wants too. Every time I try to sync photos from my comptuer to his ipad, a menu pops up and asks if I want to replace his existing photos. I don't want to replace his photos with my photos. I just simply want to add to his collection of photos.
Of course I can always transfer photos on my computer onto a flash drive and upload it onto his computer. But I want to know if there is a way where I can sync photos from multiple computers onto his ipad without replacing his original pictures.. (and without using a flash drive or emailing pictures)

Only the contents of the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad, and not including photos in a sync is how you delete them from the iPad - so you need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad in one go. There are third-party apps for the iPad such as Simple Transfer that allow you to transfer photos to the iPad via your wifi network, but they will just go into the Saved Photo/Camera Roll album on the iPad - though with iOS 5 in the Autumn you will then be able to move photos between albums on the iPad

No. Syncing albums from your computer to your iPad copies the photos to your iPad but leaves them on the computer.
