Adding picks and symbols to keyboard

How do I add new fonts & art to my keyboard for game play and messages?

You don't.  User selectablt fonts is not a feature of iOS.  You can however check the App Store for possibilities.  Here's one you can use to add emoticons to email and messages:

  • Adding brushes and symbols to Illustrator CS4

I'm fairly new to Illustrator, though a long time Photoshop user, and I want to add some vectors I've downloaded from 123freevectors.  (I'm on a Mac)
In Photoshop, I had no problem adding new brushes from other sources by just dropping them in Presets > Brushes folder.
I tried doing the same with Illustrator by dropping downloaded vectors to Presets > Symbols.  Although they showed up in the library listing, the symbols were not correct.  Ditto by dropping them in Presets > Brushes.
How do I load new brushes and symbols, and how do I know which library to put them in when what I've downloaded is just described as vectors with extension of .ai  (some are .eps)
    Thanks!

Plac3en the file in a document when it is placed in the document drag the art into the symbols panel same for the brushes panel and there you will have a choice of what kinfd of brush ou wish to make, you can also drag ity into the watches pamel to make a pattern fill. Y^ou can save the swattchges, bvrushes nd symbols as libraries for use in the future.

  • Keyboard typing weird letters and symbols

    Hi all
I have tried to use my Macbook Pro this morning and when I type its typing the wrong letters
    and symbols...................can anyone help?
    Thanks
    Jo

I just spent hour trying to fix tihs on my iMac and could find the answer so I wanted to post it for someone else. Mine was typing in crazy symbols (åß∂ƒ©).
Also I could not Command + Tab (shoot me), and when I clicked on a window in another app it hid the windows I was working in.
I tried new keyboards. And the system preferences stuff - system preferences - language & text - input sources. then select US. This didn't fix it.
Then I tried to change the keyboard shortcuts in the same window - spotlight (on left), unclick the show spotlight search field and the other one bellow. Then hit the com + Spacebar. This didn't fix it.
Then i did it and double check that i did it right and still didn't fix it.
So I called apple support and they gave me the magical key to fix this.
Turn off your computer. Unplug for 30 sec, and everything attached. Then power it back on and hurry and hold Command + Option + P + R. I held Command + Option + P with one hand and then after I hit power I added the R.
The computer will make one chime. Keep holding it. I will then shut down and make one more chime and you can let go.
    Taa daa!!
    I have a 27" iMac 2.93Ghz i7 with 10.8.2 (FYI).

Are you using the virtual keyboard to input your password and you cannot see/find the characters you need on that keyboard?
Or are you trying to use a bluetooth keyboard and pressing the printed key does not produce the right character?

  • Keyboard problem typing random letters and symbols

    Hi Rob,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like your running into an issue with the keyboard on your MacBook Pro. The article linked below provides suggestions that will resolve most keyboard issues like the one you described.
OS X Mavericks: If keys on your keyboard don’t work
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH13809
    If other keys don’t work
You may have accidentally set an option that changes how your keyboard operates.
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Dictation & Speech, then click “Text to Speech.” If “Speak selected text when the key is pressed” is selected, deselect it or click Change Key to select another key.
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Accessibility, then click Keyboard. Make sure Slow Keys is turned off. If Slow Keys is on, you must hold down a key longer than usual before it’s recognized.
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Accessibility, then click Mouse & Trackpad. Make sure Mouse Keys is off. If Mouse Keys is on, pressing keys in the numeric keypad moves the pointer instead of entering numbers.
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Keyboard, then click Input Sources. Select “Show Input menu in menu bar.” Open the Input menu and make sure the correct keyboard layout is selected. To see the keyboard layout, click Keyboard, then choose “Show Keyboard & Character Viewers in menu bar.”
    I hope this helps.

  • Keyboard only produces numbers and symbols regardless of which key is pressed.  Is there another option to deleting all and reloading Bootcamp?

Repetitive pressing of one keyboard key produces different varied numbers and symbols.

I actually ran into this same issue and created a standalone app that restores the Snow Leopard functionality. It seems to be a bug in the current implementation, hopefully Apple fix it soon.

  • G7 mouse picked up as a keyboard bringing the PC down

[note: edited the topic name (again) to make the problem clearer. This way someone might find this more easily]
I'm editing this post with the latest stuff.
In short, it seems my mouse is sometimes detected as a keyboard, because of the USB receiver, that may eventually serve as a wireless keyboard receiver. When it is detected as a keyboard (I'm attaching the relevant part of the log, the error finally showed once in it) the server crashes.
I don't know if there are other reasons for X and/or the kernel failing, by now this is all I've got.
I've made a pair of pics to the screen after hard locks, I may post them later.
I have a Logitech G7 mouse which I would like to use with Arch. The only problem is that the evdev device driver only lets X start once in 5 times - when it won't, the whole kernel will have a segfault and I'll have to give an hard-reboot to the machine. This is true with every kernel I tried - 2.6.15, 2.6.15-archck, 2.6.16.1 (I just updated it with pacman). If I comment my G7 mouse line out, X starts every time, but if I leave it active, it may start - or not. When X does start, the mouse is absolutely perfect - mind you, it's not a configuration problem, the mouse is perfectly configured for the new xorg7 evdev driver.
It's working ATM but normally it does not. It's like a russian roulette.
This happens the same way wheter I put my custom udev rule node "/dev/input/G7" or the plain "/dev/input/mouse#" as a device in my xorg.conf.
Disabling the other mouse does not help, nor unplugging my wacom tablet before turning on the PC does.
If you need me to post anything, please ask. This is my xorg.conf:

Hi there, I bought one of these new Razer Copperhead mice a few days ago and have had the exact same problem. Since X detected the mouse correctly once I just did not turn my box of anymore. But, unfortunately, I had to reboot a few minutes ago and my box locked up again and again - I guess I pressed the reset button for about four times - so I decided to investigate on that.
Here's what I found out: `dmesg | grep ^input' shows me that the mouse gets detected twice by the usb modules:
input: Razer Razer Copperhead Laser Mouse as /class/input/input2
input: USB HID v1.00 Mouse [Razer Razer Copperhead Laser Mouse] on usb-0000:00:13.1-1
input: Razer Razer Copperhead Laser Mouse as /class/input/input3
input: USB HID v0.01 Keyboard [Razer Razer Copperhead Laser Mouse] on usb-0000:00:13.1-1
See the difference? "USB HID v1.00 Mouse" vs. "USB HID v0.01 Keyboard". So I checked /sys/class/input/input{2,3} to see that input2 (the mouse one) got a subdirectory called mouse0 which in turn has a file called dev while input3 doesn't.
Long story short: I created a simple Udev rule to create a device node for the detected mouse input which I use in my xorg.conf:
    Udev rule (one line)
    KERNEL=="event*", SYSFS{name}=="Razer Razer Copperhead Laser Mouse", SYSFS{mouse0/dev}=="*" NAME="input/copperhead" MODE="664", GROUP="users"
    xorg.conf
    Section "InputDevice"
    Identifier "Mouse0"
    Driver "evdev"
    Option "Device" "/dev/input/copperhead"
    Option "Resolution" "2000"
    EndSection
So far it's working quite well. I hope that this is the final solution since I don't feel like messing with this anymore...

  • I have several fonts with special glyphs and symbols- how do I access these under text?

In word I am able to go to "insert symbol" and look at the character map to pick what I'd like to use (beyond what's available as a letter on the keyboard) without the alt-shortcut how can I use these glyphs and symbols?

Unfortunately PSE isn't very good with unicode fonts, and you're pretty much limited to the basic 256 character set. If it's a special symbol font (and a true type or equivalent font), you may be able to use the symbols, but you'll need to find the keyboard stroke to create it. PSE doesn't have the same text capabilities that full photoshop has.

  • I have an iPod Touch 4th Generation and it's acting weird. It looks to be something like a calibration error but i don't exactly know. It won't let me tap letters and symbols such as ' ; R and D'. Help?

So my iPod Touch forth gen is acting up. When i try to slide the button to unlock the lock screen, it slides back. It takes several tries for me to do that. I'm able to tap the numbers for the code, but when i try to send messages to my friends or write one of my fanfictions, it goes haywire. It'll enter in letters and words that i didn't even tap on. When i try to tap on a couple of things in particular, it ignores it. '; R D and ~' are some of the letters and symbols that I'm having issues with. Can someone please tell me what's going on? I've restarted it dozens of times, re-entered my passcode, deleted data, and even re-downloaded the keyboards a couple of times. Help!

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • How to process an output message after pick and pack in LM46?

    Hi,
I've implemented the User Exit to print the HU using LM18, it's working great but no output message is processed (and indeed, the sticker is printed on my own printer instead of the one defined in my Z custom output message).
I used LM46 to pick and pack the HU, am i missing a step?
In other words, how to process my custom output message after the pick and pack?
Is there some code I must add in the LM18 User Exit?

You know, in a user exit or a BADi you can access any variable of the program you want.
Just find what which program calls the Exit User, put a break-point in it, and find the variable you need to access.
Then add this kind code in your Exit :
    DATA: l_var TYPE ....
    FIELD-SYMBOLS: <fs_var>    TYPE ANY.
    ASSIGN ('(PGMNAME)variable') TO <fs_var>.
    IF sy-subrc = 0.
      l_var = <fs_var>.
    ENDIF.
Same thing for a table :
    DATA: lt_var TYPE TABLE OF....
    FIELD-SYMBOLS: <fs_var>    TYPE ANY.
    ASSIGN ('(PGMNAME)table[]') TO <fs_var>.
    IF sy-subrc = 0.
      lt_var[] = <fs_var>.
    LOOP AT lt_var ASSIGNING ...
    ENDLOOP.
    ENDIF.

  • I am trying to fill in a form in adobe exportpdf. How can I fill in numbers and symbols? Parenthesis, dollar sign etc.

I am trying to fill in a form in adobe exportpdf. How can I fill in numbers and symbols? Parenthesis, dollar sign etc.

    Hi;
Can you provide a little more detail, maybe a screenshot?  ExportPDF only converts PDFs to other file types, what exactly are you using to try to fill out the form?  The two Adobe form filling tools I would recommend would be:
    1) Adobe Reader - a free download you can install on your computer and can be used to fill out most any form.  For numbers, symbols etc it can depend on the field you are entering data into, some fields have restrictions, but you would use those keys on your keyboard, if nothing is entered then that field probably has restrictions.
    2) Adobe Fill & Sign: https://cloud.acrobat.com/fillsign - using the Fill & Sign tab on the acrobat.com website you can fill out most PDFs.  To enter numbers, symbols, etc you would simply add them using your keyboard.
    Thanks,
    Josh

If anyone knows what's going on , and how i can disappear those messages , and if someone has any suggestions i would be grateful if you could help me out .
    Thanks in advance !!!

Thanks for posting this wizzard. After an upgrade of xorg I have been struggling to make a conf file that worked. Adding to a minimal file is easier than pruning a full one. I used your minimal xorg.conf and added:
    Option "PreferredMode" "1280x1024"
in the monitor section and now all is well. (I think my monitor is non-standards-compliant. It causes problems so the option is needed)
