Adding plugin deletes InDesign (workspace) settings

Hi,
we discovered the following strange behaviour: By adding a plugin to the InDesign plugin folder (via Drag&Drop) several user settings of InDesign will be deleted. For example: The list of recently opend documents, the preview checkbox in paragraph styles…
This happens with the plugin we're developing at the moment, but it also happens with compiled samples from the SDK, so we are really unsure where to look for the bug.
We're working with InDesign CS6 on a Mac.
Does anyone know what might going wrong?

ICS is a file format and not really suitable for a network calendar. Apple can not make anything more than read only work on their Ical calendars and for read write recommend CalDav. Perhaps horde has a similar issue.
I notice from their web site that they support CalDav. That is a networked calendar protocol designed that way from the ground up.
This appears to be instruction on how to locate the caldav URL in Horde, but knowing nothing of the product I really do not know. http://wiki.horde.org/CalDAV

2nd computer won't sync Indesign workspace settings from cloud

Wonder if somebody could help please? I have Indesign CC 2014 installed on my work computer and offsite on my home computer. I sync my workspace from the work computer to the cloud but my home just doesn't give me the option to download the cloud workspace. All i can do on the home computer is press sync settings which then overwrites the cloud settings. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Is there a way to export workspace settings?

The problem is, I work with a two-monitor setup. One is the actual working area with a painstakingly constructed layout of panels, the other one has a synchronized window with a full-screen Preview. Every once in a while I accidentally close the working area window, and because Bridge only saves a "current state" in workspaces, my painstakingly crafted window is just gone, poof (sound effect, not slang).
I know I can save a duplicate working space. That makes it somewhat easier, but I still have to delete the botched working space and create it again as a copy of the duplicate. This, coupled with the fact that the first stage of any troubleshooting on Bridge is to nuke all settings, makes me a bit uneasy with the solution.
I would be very grateful if someone knew of a way to export workspace settings so I could just load them back in when I mess up or Bridge does.

Would you mind disclosing the resolution of your 30" monitor in terms of pixels (so many pixels wide by so many pixels high) ? I'm just curious to see how such a large monitor compares to my two side-by-side 22" monitors.

The resolution I use with my 30 " is the default one and set to 2560 x 1600 pixels
If I can take a little 'gamble' I assume the total pixel amount of 2 x 22" will be more, but I never could get used on the two monitor set up. I just like my tools to be close to the image I work on, and using the pen tool with a lot of Brushing and switching to different layers and combine this with action pallet in button mode that needs also a lot of pressing it would be to often en to much distance to travel for my hand, but that's just personal.

I loose my Workspace settings when switching

I loose my Workspace settings when switching. All my keyboard shortcuts get deleted even
though my different workspaces are able to switch out. I have to go back and assign shortcuts all over again if i select another workspace.
any suggestions as to why?

Have You saved the Keyboard Shortcuts before?
Because if »Keyboard Shortcuts« is clicked in the Save Workspace-dialog the Workspace will include the current Shortcuts-settings and, if invoked in the future, overwrite unsaved Keyboard Shortcut-changes, I think.
It might be better to not include the Keyboard Shortcuts in the Workspace but to manage them separately if one is prone to change them occasionally.

CS3/CS4 - Plugin deletes user-defined keyboard shortcuts?

I have users complaining that my plugin deletes their keyboard shortcuts. My plugin does not mess with any keyboard shortcuts, so how can this happen?

Is this an installation issue or does it happen later on? When *any* plugin is installed, InDesign rebuilds several caches from resources. That includes actions, menus and consequently also shortcuts. We had that recently with action/menu filters being asked only on first run.
Anyway, the plugin readme should tell the user to save their precious shortcuts into a set before installation ...

Porting a Creative Suite flashbuilder 4.5 plugin to InDesign CC

Im not sure im in the right forum for this question.
This might also be a really stupid question, but im going to ask it anyway.
I would like to port a Create suite plugin for InDesign CS5, CS5.5 and CS6 built in Flashbuilder 4.5 to Indesign CC.
Can I have flash based palettes in Extension build 3, and Eclipse? Or do I need to convert every palette and dialog to HTML 5?
I have imported my previous project in Eclipse, but it will not compile or build.

No you need to build the Flex version of the panel for InDesign CC in Flashbuilder 4.5. Remember the InDesign CC is version 9 of InDesign.
BUT from the version following InDesign CC Flex may not be there (At present Adobe has only annonced that Flex is being removed in the future, beginning with the next version of Photoshop). So in the near future you should expect to convert your panel to HTML5. The latest update of InDesign CC added HTML5 support, ala Photoshop.

When adding or deleting contacts on my iphone, contacts get added or deleted on another iphone as well?!

So I have an iPhone 4S and my mom has an Iphone 4. Recently we discovered that whenever we add or delete contacts from her or my phone, they get added or deleted in both our iPhones. So for example: When I add a friend to my contacts, it gets added to her contact list as well. When I delete one of my contacts, it gets deleted from her contact list as well! I think it has something to do with having synced her iphone once on my laptop using my itunes but her phone doesn't have my apps, photos, or music so I don't get how this is happening. Does anyone know how to stop this?

You are logged into icloud on the same account.
Go to settings>icloud and either "delete account" (which signs you out of that account on that device) or just turn contacts off
I would recommend one of you create your own account specifically for use with icloud.
Again you can access your icloud settings by going to settings>icloud

Always like to see peoples opinions about added plugins for logic pro.
WHAT ARE SOME GREAT PLUGINS WELL WORTH THE MONEY?
TYPE OF SOUND CAN BE SYNTHS/EFFECTS WHATEVER YOU LIKE.

i've stopped using external plugins cause it always ended up with some issues :
- plugins would have some bugs
- plugins would need to be updated all the time, and the new version would mess up with my songs
- automation would not work properly
- settings would not have been saved properly with the song ...
of course i'm exagerating but :
- logic already has plenty of plugins all sounding well and covering everything you need
- i don't master half of them yet
- there's always a way to achieve the same sound of an other plugin / technic, may it be less easy
- any of my songs could be opened with any Logic Pro 7 in the world
- i feel like plugins are the new video games. my friend don't play video game anymore, they download plugins and rave about the latest ones. i don't need plugins to get creative, and when i have an idea of a sound or a song, i've never thought "**** i need reaktor" or anything.

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

How do I get bridge CS5 to open up with my saved workspace settings?

Every time I open bridge it opens with large thumbnails in an old folder. I have to "reset" my workspace (even though it is highlighted at the top of the page already!) and then select the last folder I was working on again.
Is there any way to get bridge to remember your last used folder and last used workspace setting and just re-open with those already set?
The current situation just leads to lots more unnecessary annoying clicking.
I've tried all the options I can find in preferences and tried creating ans saving different workspace settings but nothing seems to effect how bridge opens up the first time I use it in a session. I am running it on Windows 7.

That seems to solve it. I think your point about exiting bridge before shutting down is important, but you need to make sure bridge is showing the set-up you want to keep first. I now have a sensible opening screen. Thanks a lot.

How can I delete all printer settings?

This was not always the case, but I've been having problems lately getting good prints from a HP PhotoSmart Pro B9180 from my Mac Pro since I installed Photoshop CS5. The printing problems - washed-out colors, especially reds- also happened with older versions of Photoshop, so it may not be the app that's causing this. I uninstalled, then reinstalled the HP drivers but the uninstall didn't delete all the settings accumulated over several years of printing. After lots of lousy test prints using different settings, I decided to try printing from another Mac that has never used this printer before. The prints came out right when printed with Photoshop CS1, which has a simpler print dialog than the later versions. By CS5, it has so many variables that it was hard to figure out which settings are affecting the quality.
I also tried printing the same file from Preview to rule out Photoshop as the cause. It was somewhat better but not as good as the print from CS 1 on the laptop.
I'm just trying to start with a clean slate to eliminate some of the variables that may be causing the print quality problems.
Where is the file or files that contain the list of saved printer settings? I looked in the User Library and its Prefs folder but discarding the HP Printer prefs file didn't delete the settings.

It seems to me that you’re having problems concerning colour management/profiles. In that case I’m not of much help. But you can try to reset the printing system of OS X and afterwards install your printer driver again. To reset the printing system open System Preferences/Print & Fax and right-click somewhere on the white space underneath your listed printers.

I deleted InDesign CC off my computer and now can't get it back.

I accidentally deleted InDesign CC of my computer while trying to clear some space and now i can't get it back on! I have tried updating it and re-downloading it but nothing has worked!

Web event receiver when adding or deleting a SharePoint hosted app

Hi,
Is it possible to start an action when a SharePoint hosted app is added or deleted from a site collection on our SharePoint 2013 farm on premise?
Also for public apps. Therefore, working with ‘App events’ are not an option.
It tried already with a web event receiver: ‘OnSiteCreated’ and ‘WebDeleting’, but this is not working with appweb's.
When I create a normal subsite, the event is fired. When I added an app to the site, the event is not fired.

How can I delete a workspace

I have created a workspace with an existing DB user. After that, I dropped the user via sqlplus commandline with the sys user. Then I created the user again with sqlplus. I did this because this user got his own tablespace now because it is a tomcat user of a web application.
The problem is, that it is no longer possible to log into the workspace with this user / this workspace name again. I get the message that credentials are not valid. But neither the password of the old user nor the one of the new user works.
I want to simply delete the workspace and create it again. I don't really need the Apex. It is just a simple thing to look at the object browser to see tables and data rows of this user (schema / ownwer resp.)
I even tryed to log into the workspace or into Apex with the sys user. But this is also denied.
Please help me!
