Adding plural to keywords

I am starting to make a hierical keyword sets for my need & wondering where do I add plurals?
Nature
tree
trees
Animals
horse
horses
or
Nature
tree
trees
Animals
horse
horses
Another thing I am thinking is to have multiple keyword catalog for each category, how can this work, when I import any catalog it gets merged with present keyword catalog.

From the Controlled Vocabulary web site (http://www.controlledvocabulary.com)
When Writing Keywords
Keep in mind that in most larger online systems, the captions are fully searchable as well, so it may be only necessary to create keywords for those words in the caption that also need plurals, variants and synonyms.
Use plural spelling only, unless the spelling is different than just adding an "s." For example, just using "cats" is sufficient, but if you use "babies" also include "baby."
Use gerunds not verbs. For example, use "running", not "run"
Do not capitalize unless it's the name of a place or a proper noun (most search functions/search engines are NOT case sensitive, but this makes for easier reading).
List alternative spellings for international audience (color / colour, gray / grey, etc.)
In order to copy and paste into the keyword field in Photoshop CS, use a comma and then a space between each term. For example: xxxx, xxx xxxx, xxxxx, term, word phrase, two word phrase, etc. You can can also separate terms using a semi-colon or even a hard carriage return.

  • Adding Metadata deletes keywords in Bridge 2.1.1.9

I had keyworded a large number of images. I then noticed that I had not applied my usual Metadata info (IPTC Core) (copyright, name, address, etc). I went to the Metadata panel, selected and clicked to Append my 2008 Metadata to the large number of selected and previously keyworded images.
The Metadata was written to the image, and all the keywords were removed. I do not believe that this problem has occurred with previous versions. I thought that Append Metadata would do just that, i.e. add the metadata to the keywords in the IPTC location. I would think that this keyword removal would occur if I had selected Replace Metadata.
What am I doing wrong, other than not adhering religiously to my workflow and inserting Metadata before the Keywords as I usually do.

I found the following info in Bridge Help:
Apply metadata templates to files in Bridge
    Select one or more files.
Choose either of the following commands from the Metadata panel menu or the Tools menu:
Append Metadata, followed by the name of the template. This command applies the template metadata only where no metadata value or property currently exists in the file. (Append isnt available if youve selected multiple files.)
Replace Metadata, followed by the name of the template. This command completely replaces any existing metadata in the file with the metadata in the template.
Note, Append Metadata is available regardless of number of images selected, and deletes Keywords regardless of number of images selected.

  • Bridge freezes after adding a new keyword & wont allow the keywords to work

when I am in bridge and working away - ill create a new keyword -so select new keyword, type in the name and then hit enter etc... when I go the new keyword which I have just created - it wont allow me to check the box (so tick it & allocate it to an image OR any image) - I must re-start bridge and then it works...
is anyone else having this issue?
    im using Bridge CS 3 - 2.1.1.9
    thanks in advance!

Yes, where you click is critical, and it varies from word to word sometimes, seems to be a little to right of where you expect.
According the the knowledgebase, compacting cache gets rid of files that are not associated with anything anymore.
CS2 used all 3 (Ctrl, Alt, Shift) keys, but CS3 and 4 can use just the Ctrl key to reset preferences.

  • Adding "logon path =" keyword in smb.conf

    Greetings,
I was looking how to disable roaming profiles for windows users, and there is a keyword in samba configuration, where if you set it to blank like following:
    logon path =
it will effectively disable roaming profiles.
However, when I add this line in [General] section of /etc/smb.conf, and then later do some changes with GUI tools in Windows files services, these GUI tools (Server Admin, Workgroup Manager) will remove this keyword. I tried putting this in /etc/smb.conf.template as well - no help.
Any idea how to make this keyword GUI tools friendly so that it stays in /etc/smb.conf permanently ?

    >Any idea how to make this keyword GUI tools friendly so that it stays in /etc/smb.conf permanently ?
    I don't think you can.
It's been a long-standing complaint of Server Admin - it's too happy to trounce any manual changes you've made. It's got better over the years/versions, but I still stick by the mantra that once you've edited by hand you can never go back to Server Admin (unless you're prepared to repeatedly re-apply your handcrafting).

  • Adding LR5.5 keywords into LR4.4

due to slowness I have decided to ditch LR5 for now and go back to LR4.4 which works perfectly.
Is there a way to get my LR5 keywords list into LR4
I don't expect to link keywords to photos but having my extensive k/word list in LR4 would save lots time building the whole k/word thing again
I'm trying hard not scream yell and shout atm so any positive/negative help would be very much appreciated
    Cheers

seems to have worked like a charm thanks dj; and I now have 2012/13/14 back on LR 4 while I look forward to LR6. I will worry about older files if I need them and will keep LR5 alive for that

  • Adding a "Search Keyword" bar

Is there just a widget or plugin that allows me to add a search bar to my site?

If your site is dynamically generated from server-side databases, you can add a query to your page.
If your site is static HTML, try one of the following:
    Zoom Search Engine software

    Free Find

  • Bridge has error when adding additional keywords to InDesign snippet IDMS files

I have recently created a whole library of InDesign Snippets. I opened Bridge to add keywords to these files. I can add the first keyword with no problem, but when I try to add a second keyword, I get this error: "There was an error writing metadata to <filename.idms>"
    Some interesting observations:
I use a list of keywords and subkeywords in Bridge so all I have to do is check the corresponding keyword checkbox. With every IDMS file, I can check only *ONE* keyword. I will get an error when I attempt to check a second keyword.
If I re-export the IDMS from InDesign, it will overwrite the metadata, and I am once again allowed to add one checkbox before getting the error.
If I take a clean IDMS file (no keyword metadata already added), I can Rt+Click on the IDMS icon in Bridge and pull up File Info and under the Keywords section, I can type in multiple keywords separated by commas and save. This IDMS file will then show checked boxes next to all of the keywords I had manually added. At this point, if I try to add more keywords (either by clicking the checkbox or by going to Rt+Click->File Info), I will get the "There was an error writing metadata to <filename.idms>" error.
I've seen other posts about image files having an issue not allowing any metadata to be written at all... this problem is slightly different in that I do not have any problem adding that first keyword. But something is happening after the metadata is saved with that first keyword that does not allow me to add additional keywords.
Thanks for anyone and everyone's help on this most perplexing problem.

  • Adding a keyword to several images in A2 - not working

I imported new RAW files into A 2 today for the first time.
I then started my normal routine of adding some of keywords to all of the images at once.
I did a select all, dragged over "Wildlife Refuge", but it was only applied to that one image instead of all of them.
In A 1 I did the exact same thing and the keyword was applied to all I selected.
Checked the manual and I do not see what I am doing wrong.
I would have thought it would still work the same way, but that is OK.
What am I missing? Something simple I am sure!
    Thanks!

  • Adding keywords and description to filename

I've built myself an online gallery system to let my clients view and purchase their photos online.  To streamline my workflow, the script that imports my photos and resizes them for web display will also parse the file name to pull out a description and tags (keywords).  So I went in and added descriptions and keywords to a few test images and went to save them out to try running through the script, but when trying to save from Camera Raw neither keywords nor description were available to add to the jpg file name.  I figured I could get around this by simply using Bridge to rename the NEF files using the keywords and description, then I could just have CR save the jpgs using the current filename, but even Bridge doesn't seem to be able to access this metadata (and this would add addition time to the process anyway).
I know I can work around this by simply batch renaming the sets of files that I would otherwise add this metadata to, and creating the file names manually before export, but that would add a fair amount of time into the process and eliminates me being able to use keywords in Bridge.  I work two jobs right now and anything I can do to my workflow to shave precious minutes off of it is huge to me.
So I guess my questions are:
    1) Is it possible to get keywords and the description into my filenames (without spending more time than this process was designed to save)?
    2) If not, what's the point of having that metadata?
    3) Is this functionality available in a newer version of PS?
I'm using Photoshop CS3 and the format my final JPG files need to have is: "[4 digit sequence number]_[Description]_[comma delimited keyword list].jpg"
Thanks for reading, and hopefully helping.

Sorry about that, was too early in the morning when i posted that. No, you can't use Batch Rename to add keywords to files, i was thinking about metadata in general. The point of keywords is that you can search images for keywords and you can also use the Filter panel to show only images that contain certain keywords.
If you want Bridge to have this functionality then i suggest that you make a feature request here: http://www.adobe.com/go/wish

  • Adding keywords to a topic causes search to return file names instead of topic titles

When I search for a term in my WebHelp Pro project, the topics returned are shown by file name if the topic has anything in its Properties > General > Keywords field and are shown by topic title if there are no keywords defined for the topic.
I've confirmed this behavior by adding and removing keywords from topics and watching them alternate between being shown in searches by file name or by topic title.
Obviously, I want topics to be displayed by topic titles in search results no matter if they have keywords assigned or not.
Any idea what would be causing this? Is this a known bug?
Here's some additional information. For this problem to occur, these four conditions must be true:
The topic must have manually added keyword(s) in the Properties > General > Keywords field.
The topic title and the file name must be different.
One must be searching for one of the keyword(s) added in step 1.
Occurs in WebHelp Pro when published to a remote server.
Talks with Adobe today are inconclusive but it appears that this was an unknown bug. Maybe I'll get a free t-shirt or something.

    Hi Rocky,
Log on to the Robohelp Configuration Manager
Uncheck the option "reindex documents at server".
Republish and check. If issue exists try restarting the Apache/Tomcat Server.
    That should work for you.

    Robbie

  • "RAW" and "movie" keywords no longer automatically added

After a recent iPhoto update -- I'm using version 9.3 (650.39) now -- I've noticed that both the RAW images and the movies that I import from my camera are no longer automattically tagged with the keywords "RAW" and "movie".  In previous versions, after I imported a RAW file or a movie from my camera into the iPhoto library, it automatically added the appropriate keyword (I could see the keyword by clicking on the image or movie after the import and hitting the info button).  Now, that automatic tagging seems to be gone, although both those keywords still exist, and my movies and RAW photos from before are still tagged.  Has anybody else noticed this?  Is there a workaround, or does Apple just need to fix this?  Or was it discontinued on purpose?

Same issure here, but it seems to be wider than just RAW and Movie.  I do a fair bit of panoramic photography, so I have the tag "stitched" as a keyword.  When I try to apply that keyword to a photo, the field instantly clears, and the change is not saved.  "Raw" and "movie" are showing the same behavior.  A separate "nature" keyword works fine though.  So, there looks to be a problem with the keyword database?
Upgraded to iPhoto 11 v9.3.1.  Manual tags now showing up.  However, all my recently added RAW files are still not tagged "raw".

  • Invalid Keywords Added on Import

    Hi there
Lightroom keeps mysteriously adding keywords everytime I import a JPEG file from the hard drive. To be more specific, I import the Raw files, no problem. Export as a Tiff for photoshop, save the Tiff and create a JPEG web version in PS. Then, when I import the web version, Lightroom adds the same incorrect keywords.
Here is what I've tried to rectify the problem:
    1. I've ensured that the keywords box in the import dialog is completely empty and that no metadata template is selected.
    2. I've deleted all metadata templates.
    3. I've cleared all recent metadata and turned off keyword suggestions.
    4. To be sure, I've open the same file in photoshop before the lightroom import and checked that those keywords were not added,
I am using version 2.5, 16bit, PC version
I've searched through the forums, found similar issues but can't seem to find a solution for my problem.
    My Import Menu
    My Metadata Presets
Lightroom Keywords with all the Paris keywords mysteriously added.
The keywords of the exact same file in Photoshop

Have you tried inspecting the JPEG with Exiftool, or the like, before you import into LR to ensure there are no keywords in the metadata.
Sorry - just reread and you've already said you've inspected before import.

  • Enterprise keywords deleted when Excel document added in WebApp

    In a document library
(within SharePoint Online), we have added the
    enterprise keywords column. In an
Excel document, we have the following problem.
If we edit an Excel document (that’s already
placed in the document library) using the
WebApp will SharePoint delete the existing enterprise
keywords that where given earlier when the document placed in de library.
He deleted the keywords only when it’s added in the WebApp. When we open the
Excel file using Excel on the PC, he
    simply keeps the previously added
    enterprise keywords.
    Does anyone have an idea
    what this could be?

Stange issue, haven't found any documentation regarding same. Do you see other value also reset like  Date and Time, hyperlink, etc

  • I can not see "Keyword" detail

Hello I have got a problem with Windows Explorer and it is
    because of Adobe Flash product.
I added keywords to some files with right click in every
file, then properties, Summary and in the field Keyword I wrote
    some data.
Then in Windows Explorer in the Folder that contains those
files, I go to View menu and select Choose details, I activate the
Checkbox "Keyword" to view that field in the Details View, but when
I list the files in the Windows explorer under Details View, the
details fields of name, type, size, date modified and keyword
appear but the data I added before to keyword does not appear under
the keyword field in the view of Windows Explorer, the field of
    keyword is empty.
I Know this issue is related with MAcromedia Flash because
the checkbox "Keyword" does not appear if I have not installed
Macromedia Flash, it means Native Windows do not have this field,
and that this field is added by Macromedia Flash but it does not
work properly because it does not show the data under its field in
    Windows Explorer.
    I really appreciate your help
    Thank you

    Hope it helps

  • How can I delete topic index keywords that are no longer associated with a topic?

I am trying to clean up the index of an older Robohelp project before it becomes part of a merged webhelp project. I do not want to include any of its index keywords or topic keywords. I've managed to remove most of them, but I have a group of troublesome entries that refuse to go away. In fact, they cause RH8 to crash. I am running Windows XP.
Looking at the code in Visual Studio, it appears that an instruction is pointing to field which contains "zero".  (see image below)
I have tried creating a new index and deleting the old index, but RH just keeps adding these topic keywords (in bold typeface) to the new index. If the keywords are no longer associated with a topic, where is RH storing these disassociated keywords? If I open the .hhk, it is empty.

Not sure why RH crashed when deleting a portion of the topic keywords manuall
y from the index pane, but I was finally able to remove them with the Remove Unused Keywords tool. Duh! Thanks anyway!
