Adding polycom soundstation ip 7000 to cme 4.1...is it possible?
Hi
Please can anyone advise if its possible to add polycom soundstation IP 7000 to CME 4.1?
Hi Brandon.
No you don't need to specify Owner because the digest user field is used to authenticate the phone against the CUCM. (That is defined as authorisation user on third party phone)
Zach,
the password field on Polycom is the password field on end user configuration (not pin not digest password.
Does the callmanager report rejected on phone status?
Let me know

Polycom Soundstation IP 7000 Registration Issues
Hello All,
I've posted this before, and thought I had it resolved, but I'm back to pulling my hair out at trying to get a Soundstation IP 7000 to register with my call manager.
Here are the cliff notes:
-CUCM Version 8.6
-Polycom Firmware 4.0.4 (the highest revision mentioned in their guide for CUCM)
-The polycom can ping the CUCM Sub and Pub
-There is no syslog message on the CUCM of the Polycom trying to register
I've attached screen shots of everything that I believe to be relevant, if anyone out there has an idea of what might be going I would greatly appreciate the input. I have not yet resorted to traffic analysis with WireShark. I've got some notes on the images of the Polycom screens.Hi Brandon.

Installing an analog polycom soundstation 2 on FXS port in CUCME
I apologize if this is a stupid question, I'm an Avaya voice (cisco data) guy, I'm still learning Cisco voice.
I've installed an analog polycom soundstation 2, I can make internal and external calls. However I can only receive one incoming call at at time (second call receives a busy signal) and I can't conference a second call.
From researching I think I need to change the FXS port from MGCP to SCCP (I have the license for it) but I'm not 100% sure that's correct and if it is I'm not sure how to do it.
Any advice would be much appreciated. This should give you an idea where to start

Adding Polycom HDX8000 to TMS with security mode
I have been adding Polycom HDX8000 to Cisco TMS but doing so i had to disable security mode on HDX8000 which enables SNMP (SNMP needs to be enabled on HDX8000 to get identified during adding process in TMS)
I am able to add HDX8000 to TMS but in doing so the HDX is now being accessed using http since security mode is disabled. As per the security norms all HDX's needs to have secured web access (https), if i enable security mode on HDX then SNMP is disabled resulting in TMS loosing control over HDX (error on TMS:"no snmp response")
Basically i want to enable SNMP at the same time have https only access to HDX8000
Has anybody else encountered the above mentioned situation ?
TMS 14.4.0
hdx8000- 2.5.1 - 3.1.6In order for TMS to control the Polycom HDX, you'll need to disable Secure Mode. How to setup TMS and the HDX to work together, see the TMS Product Support Guide, it's outdated being it was for TMS 13.x, but it's still valid when it refers to the HDX and what needs to be configured. It mentions about disabling Secure Mode, and using a security profile of medium or below. Just from looking at the Polycom HDX Admin Guide, on pg 311 at the medium security profile details, it looks like you could tweak the security profile when secure mode is disabled and maybe change the web port to 443 instead of 80, though this is just a guess and untested.

Polycom Soundstation SIP or XTML
I have a Polycom Soundstation Duo which I'd like to use as the speaker and microphone when placing Skype calls. The "connector" cable offered by Polycom to connect to "PCs" is not compatible with a Mac. (There is no microphone port on an AirBook).
Are there other options? Can the Skype software take advantage of the SIP or XTML over ethernet to utilize the Polycom equipment as both the speaker and microphone? Am I missing some other possible solution?
Thank you for any advice or suggestions.Correction it doesnt look like the phone is registered. Hrm....

Any way to use Polycom SoundStation IP 6000 or IP5000
can I somehow connect one of those stations to my UC 320?
Thank youPaul,
Please look at the FXS connected conference phones. Only the Cisco SPA phone series are supported on the UC320W.
The SPA512G & SPA514G were added in 2.3.1(14) Release Candidate firmware.

Adding connection to TDM network in CME
I have a Cisco 2651 with CME and I want route internal traffic to the PSTN network.
I don't have PSTN cards.
I only have 3 ethernet cards.
I want to configure accounts of my SIP provider to do calls to the PSTN or route all the calls to an external gateway.
How can I do it ?You need to have an FXO port or a T1/E1 card to route the calls to PSTN

I am on the verge of upgrading my non-smart-LG Octane to an iPhone. Currently my husband has a very very cheap Tracfone, which is fine for him as he rarely uses it- we don't have a land line so it's basically an emergency phone. However, Tracfone is not that great and his cheap phone is falling apart. My current Verizon plan is just for one phone, with no data plan. If I upgrade to an iPhone now, can I hang onto my Octane and add it back to my current plan as his phone later on if he decides he would rather do that than keep the Tracfone? Last time I upgraded I was able to let him have my old phone and use it as the second phone on the Verizon plan, but I want to be sure I can do it later on instead of having to decide when I get the iPhone. I'm trying to keep my costs down as much as possible, and he won't be needing a data plan (I don't have one currently) so I want to wait until know for certain what the iPhone will cost monthly before deciding if it's a good idea to add another Verizon line and give up the very cheap Tracfone line. Thanks for any help you can give!

Yes, you can upgrade now, add the data plan for the iPhone ($30 for 2 GB data), and then later add a second line using the Octane. At that point you MAY have to switch to the Share Everything, since you are on an individual (I'm assuming) Nationwide plan with limited minutes; the option to add a line and make it shared plan may convert it to SHare Everything (unlimited minutes and texting, shared data).
In either case, you don't need to decide when you upgrade to the iPhone. The options will be similar now or later. -
Adding user to the oracle database using database link - is it possible?
Hi, i wolud like to manage my databases using one client. I easilly operate on my distriubuted tables but i have problem with creating users in distribiuted database. Is it possible to create users in distributed database using database links? or it have to be done locally using some stored procedures or sth similar?
The SQL syntax of the CREATE USER statement doesn't support DB links, the only way to do it would be with stored procedures. There might be an Oracle SP for that or for generic remote execution of SQL, but I'm not familiar with such.

Dear All,

Adding Users from sharepoint into Active Directory Groups
I have a requirement for Approval Workflow where the Approved User gets added to AD group directly,i think 2 way sync is possible.plz help
Out of the box, I really doubt that this is possible BUT it can more than likely be achieved via the Object Model. A good discussion and some attached code can be seen here.

Adding a cdrw to a non-global zone
Hi all,
I am attempting to add a cdrw on a laptop running Solaris 10 to a
non-global zone via the following (after browsing the archives of this
list as well as related forums and documentation):
"cdrw -l" when run in the global zone reports
"/dev/rdsk/c1t0d0s2" as the sole CD writer attached. I have previously
burnt cdr(s) using this, so the functionality of the drive is not an issue.
I then proceeded to configure a zone, "zulu01", and added a device via
the following using zonecfg (I have omitted the other configuration data
which is standard, root path, standard inherit-pkg-dir)
"add device"
"set match=/dev/rdsk/*"
"end"
"commit"
"verify"
I then installed the zone
"zoneadm -z zulu01 install"
zoneadm does the usual and reports success.
I boot the zone
"zoneadm -z zulu01 boot"
and login via "zlogin -C zulu01"
Inside zulu01, running "cdrw -l"
reports "No CD Writers found."
a "ls /dev/rdsk" shows that c1t0d0s2 is present.
I am aware that adding such a device is not recommended, but it is
supposedly possible?
Please advise on what I am doing wrong, or is it not possible to add a
cdrw to a non-local zone?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Jeremy. This should work. A shot in the dark: can you try with another tool than cdrw, cdrecord for example? Also make sure that volume management is not running in the global zone (/etc/init.d/volmgt stop).

I ask this because a few days ago my iTunes library crashed and iTunes does not recognize my purchases anymore so I have a lot more than 25,000 songs in my library and instead of deleting 600 songs from my library, I would like to select some of them so they won't be added to iTunes Match. Does anybody know if this is possible?
I didn't say "re-create" I said "restore from a backup." Restoring from a backup will place all the files just as they were right back where they need to be. This includes the .itl, .itdb ad .xml files iTunes needs to recognize that the files on the internal HDD are the same as the files in the cloud.
You do have a backup, don't you? If you don't then I strongly recommend you start backing up immediately.
If all else fails you can email iTunes Store support and ask them to reset your iTunes Match DB on the server. This will require your iTunes to go through the entire scan, match and upload process as if it were the first time.
