Adding Rules - How to Make More Simple???

Hello -
I am a big fan of RULES and have many to add to my new PowerBook G4. When I was on MS Outlook, I used to click on rules from an e-mail, and the program would guess that it was "that" particular sender that I wanted to add to the rule. Is there no function here that makes it easier to add the rule. I tried many times and resorted to a very awkward cut-and-paste process.
Also, is there a way to add multiple rules all at once, referencing several e-mails. For example, I have about e-mail from 20 different friends sitting in my inbox. Maybe I am dreaming, but I would like to select all of the e-mails and then turn on the rules and select a folder for all these to go into. Any help here would be very much appreciated.

With a message selected, if you then click Add Rule in the Preferences dialog, the preconfigured rule is one that is to match the sender of that message.
If you have a group of people that you want to all go to a folder, I would suggest creating a group in your Address Book for those users. Then make a rule that uses the "Sender is Member of Group" option. Then you can redirect those messages to a folder.
Personally, I've found using Smart Folders in Mail far better. They use the same rules, but are dynamic. This way messages from a group do show up in the Smart Folder, but are not moved. For me, not all messages from a particular individual pertain to only one group, but often many. Using Smart Folders has helped to create contextually relevant folders where a single email may show up in multiple places. Sometimes the appearence of the message isn't right, but it doesn't matter as it does appear in the right place as well. I'd rather have a couple too many matches than to have to hunt for messages.

Code looks reasonable except
a) the code in the actionPerformed is commment out
b) the owner of the dialog should be the frame

shared. And a back-end, which only stores the data.

How to make a simple Plugin system?

hey guys, first let me say I see very much hostility here, and I'm not here to annoy anyone, so if you don't feel like answering then simply don't.
I want to design a simple Plugin System for my application. I think what I need is a bit of reassurance and redirection if I'm making wrong assumptions.
here is the stages I see:
1. the system has a HashMap<String,PluginTypeData> that holds types of plugins, and the folder of the application that hold the libraries files for the plugins among other details.
(this would be saved in the application configuration file)
2. once the application starts/on request the system would load the libraries into the memory.
3. in each library there should be a file that holds the textual fully qualified name of the classes that this plugin would require to operate properly.
4. the objects in the library would have to be familiar to the application, therefore they must implement or extend a known base object from the application, and once loaded a reference to that known base object is assigned to the new object.
5. and then if I want to load a GUI component from the plugin I just get it from the reference.
lets start with how does that sound? I would like to get a feed back, just a serious one please, that may help me understand any mistakes I might be doing, and not just to understand that I'm wrong....

well, English is not my native, so I find it hard to describe, sometimes I feel the lack of words to describe what I want, and I have to take a break, and use a dictionary to find the right word to use, and sometimes these are basic words that I miss so I'm sorry if I'm not clear.
And this will be required for every single plugin in exactly the same way? If not then each plugin should include a factory.Yes, they are all saved the save way, every plugin has a method that create an instance of a basic class J2MeDataChunk.
The types of the data chunks are defined on the J2Me platform and only there.
The reason that they are defined on the J2Me platform is because of the first limitation of the J2Me platform.
1. I cannot import into the build path of the project any external libraries.Therefore in the future when I would like to add more chunk types, I would have to add them into the J2Me project as classes, and not as a jar in the build path, but the plugin would have to refer to the J2Me project and to know which chunk type it is going to edit.
Each plugin knows how to edit a different type of J2MeDataChunk, the data chunks saves them selfs into a data output stream using a serialize method in each of them, and the serialize method is invoked from the plugin itself when the user (me) press the save button.

What do you mean "external" libraries? Your code doesn't count right?I mean that a J2Me project cannot import other jar files into its build path, only the classes files that are in the project are known to the complier.

Presumably you are managing the data items because the base class is going to provide functionality relevant to them.Right, the base class is the most common ground I could find for all the chunks together.

a configuration file for each entry.
1. Type of the implemented class.
2. Full name of the implemented class
3. Full name of the GUI dialog object.
4. Optional Name of this entry. I suggest this as it allows you to report errors using this name rather than plugin class names
Per your requirements there is no path nor jar is needed nor can be specified.well I hope that by now you did get that I generalized all the data chunk types that I created into one basic object which I posted earlier, this object handles everything, and the plugin main object would be design on the J2Se platform and would extend that J2MeDataChunkType class and it would return the Swing frame/panel when the J2Se application calls the getPanel method and an empty chunk on the getDataChunk() method.
well, in my case it would extend an abstract class from the J2Me platform, maybe two object I'm still thinking about a better implementation >> so the plugin would be more simple, consist of only one object, that needs to be loaded.It shouldn't matter to you how the class is implemented.But of course it does, I want to make my life as simple as possible when I implement new plugins, having one object with abstract method, that when I extend it Eclipse would automatically add the abstract method for me to implement, and just a short glimpse at another implementation of the plugin would let me design another plugin in seconds.(with out making the GUI for the data chunk editing obviously).

How to make more voltage sources in multisim

I am using MultiSim (power pro version 10) for schematic entry on a moderately complex design. It has 5 different voltage sources and 3 different grounds. The component library only has 4 DC sources (VCC, VDD, VEE, VSS) and 2 grounds (GROUND and DGND). How do I make more? I am not simulating but I will be using this to make a board with UltiBoard.
I've tried renaming the Label and value on a VCC (to VC1 for example) and if I say no to the question that follows I get a new source (without editing all VCC on the page). Sounds good but when I copy and paste that object, I always get the unedited original VCC again (that seems like a bug). I also tried copying that new component to the user library but was denied because it is virtual. What is the best practice method intended by the program to deal with additional supplies?
On a similar note, How do I label a node so I can use it on the same page. I tried an offpage connector and HB/SB connector but you can only use it once per page. What if I have a several subcircuits using ther same signal on the same page and I do not want to draw a wire between them. I would rather have the label name showing (similar to how an offpage connector looks).
I tried placing a junction then drawing a wire to that spot then naming the node but if I turn off node names, the label disappears from the page. Is there a more universal way than doing this. Furthermore, if I try to copy/paste the node, all I get is the junction which assumes the node name of whatever I connect it to (just like a normal junction) the node is not copied.
If there is no way of copying a node or edited DC source around a page or to other pages than I quess I would be stuck editing each node's properties individually which is inefficient. I am mainly looking for someone a little more experienced to tell me I am not wasting time.

I can answer one of your questions about node labeling. If you put a wire from your component to a junction connector then you can label that node to what you want. If you want more component pins tied to the same node, just do the same thing to each one and label it to the first node. I will post a simple circuit showing this for you to look at. It is called Virtual Wiring and the circuit will simulate with it.
Hears the Example circuit. Notice that all the nodes that are supposed to be connected together have the same name.
Edit: Sorry, it seems like you have already tried this. If you leave them on it does show up in the print Preview. So I would assume it would print them if that is what you are wanting.

How to make a simple C program universal from the command line???

Hi all,
I've developed widgets that use a simple C program. I had no clue how to make it universal. Apple documentation is all about big projects to be developed inside Xcode and so on, but I don't understand even the introductory remarks...
As far as I've read, I have to make a binary for PPC and a binary for i386, and then merge it with lipo. Fine. I get my PPC binary from:
gcc-4.0 prog.c -o prog_ppc -lm -arch ppc -arch ppc64
Now, it seems that I have to use:
gcc-4.0 prog.c -o prog_i386 -lm -arch i386
The latter command didn't work until I added -L/Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.4u.sdk/usr/lib/ at the end. With this, it creates a binary file, but with the following message:
/usr/bin/ld: warning fat file: /usr/lib/system/libmathCommon.A.dylib does not contain an architecture that matches the specified -arch flag: i386 (file ignored)
and I guess this is quite an issue if I don't have the common math functions, no?...
Can somebody help me? I googled a lot on this, and found nothing helpful.

How to make more space avilable on strt-up disk?

I've just started burning DVDs on iDVD, using movies I have produced in iMovie and then transferred, via the Media Browser. But when I come to burn the finished product I am severely limited. The 'help" article informs me "be sure you have at least twice as much free space as your project uses available on your hard disk ... eg. if your project uses 4GB, you need at least 8GB of free space on your hard disk. I checked via control-click onto my hard disk icon how much space I have. The capacity is 148GB of which only 938MB is available! Does this mean I can never burn a DVD with more than 469 MB content (i.e 50% of the total)? If so, how can I make more space available on my start-up disk?

You could free-up nearly 2 GB by deleting two "bloatware" items:
/Applications/Office 2004 for Mac Test Drive
/Applications/iWork '08 ... (the 'free trial' version)
On my system, they're 1001568 KB and 701940 KB, respectively.
If you don't use them, iWeb.app and GarageBand.app are also
very large (345344 KB and 187056 KB). If you delete them, you
can always restore them later from the install DVDs.

How to make "More Products" from Answers visible

I am using OBIEE 10.3.4.2.
I developed a solution that requires "Delivers". On my developers' box (Windows 7) everything is visible. Under "More Products", I see:
Delivers
BI Publisher
Marketing
Disconnected Analytics and
Download Oracle BI for Microsoft Office.
The moment I put my RPD and Catalog in System Test--which uses https:// and on a UNIX server, I can now only see:
Download Oracle BI for Microsoft Office.
which makes me suspect that their is a setting/configuration that is preventing me from seeing these products.
Can someone tell me how to make these products visible? What settings do I need to change to make them visible?

I shut the services both in SYS Test and my DEV box.
Zipped the Catalog.
Deleted all the old catalogs from my DEV box.
unzipped the new Catalog
started the services and I can see everything under " More Products"
Shut down the services
Moved back the Catalog to Sys Test
And NO LUCK!!!
I am beginning to think it is something to do with SSL

How to make a Simple NIO Scalable Server?

I want to learn NIO for a project, but first want to start out simple. I want to figure out how to send a string across from clients to a server using NIO. I tried looking up stuff, but got caught in the terminology and such. How can I make a simple scalable server (agh tripple S) to send strings across? (like a chat server or something). All I know is I need to use a Selector and some Threaded loops to do stuff.

How to make a simple control value comparison a user event?

Hey everyone,
I am trying (with no luck) to figure out how to make an event out of a simple control comparison without having to put the controls inside a while loop to be polled or in the event structure.
For example; how do I make an event when 'numerical control 1' equals 'numerical control 2'?
I know that I could have these inside a while loop with the event structure and then wire the comparison to a boolean, then reference the boolean's value change event. But rather, I would like to create an event for the comparison without the boolean and outside the while loop such that the loop doesn't have to run through the comparison each time, and doesn't have to poll the controls and bool.

Attached is a simple user event structure that I was thinking about. Using this you can decouple the control from the comparison, it just works on valye comparisons. Since it uses the event structure there is no polling and is very CPU friendly. I have allowedfor the comparison to be linked to the "Value 1:value change event" and the compare button true event. I hope this is what you were looking at. Also since it is a user event which is dynamically registered you can register/unregister it at will durring execution making it a flexable event handler. It might be alittle buggy because I have spent about 3 minutes developing it (particularry when passing values into the event structure there might be a state issue from the data flow so local variables are a better choice)
