Adding some e-mail addresses

I have one e-mail address ([email protected]) but I'd like to add some other e-mail addresses for the kids ([email protected] / [email protected] etc). I think my FIOS account comes with 5 e-mail addresses?
How can I add these extra e-mail adresses? I want them to completely separate, with their own passwords so I can set them up on different computers and the all act independently. Your help is appreciated!

Glad it helped. Assuming that you have now added at least one sub-account, I wonder if the first option I pointed to now works? As I said, I see it, but I have several sub-accounts already defined, maybe that link only shows up after at least one sub-account exists.
Just a thought.....

No options when adding new e-mail address to Address Book

When I receive an e-mail from someone not in my Address Book, it's very easy to add that address. However, during that process, there seems to be no way to directly edit the new address entry, for example to add a last name, or prefix (Dr., etc.), or some other info. I found a mail script that will allow me to choose which Group the new address goes into, but nothing that will allow me to easily edit the information without having to go to Address Book, find the new address, and edit there.
In contrast, when adding a new e-mail address in Entourage, the Address Book entry pops up and allows me to make all necessary additions and changes very easily.
Is there some way to do that easily in Mail?

Thanks for the reply. That doesn't always work for some reason. Your reply came into my .mac address inbox. I right-clicked on the address and sure enough an editable Address Book card popped up. However, in another account mailbox I right-clicked on the address of a recent email sent by a client and when I chose "Add to Address Book", no editable card popped up, though the address was added to my address book.
Also, that client's email address is already in my address book. Since the client is Japanese, his email comes under his name in Japanese, while I have his name in English in the Address book. However, Mail seems to think that it is a new address, as that is the option it gives me when I right-click on the address. In fact, the address is already in the Address book, though filed under a different name.
So, two problems. 1. The editable pop-up window doesn't always appear when right-clicking an address in Mail. 2. Mail doesn't know that an email address is already in my Address book, though it might be filed under a different name.
Any ideas? Thanks again.

Added new e-mail address but can't send messages

I started a new job today. I added my work e-mail address to my Blackberry Tour; I can receive messages from my new e-mail addresses, but I cannot send a response back. Please help! Thank you.

Try a battery pull first.
If its work email, I would check with your IT department or whoever manages your work email. They may have to do another activation. I'm not sure how they have email setup.

Adding work e-mail address to Mail - not working

Hi,
I am trying to add my work e-mail address to Mac Mail so I can benefit from the convenience of having all my e-mail addresses running from one application.
My problem is that my work e-mail address uses Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 and when I am out of my offices I can only receive mail, I cannot send any.
When Mail tries to auto-configure using Exchange it says my work server is unavailable, and I have to resort to IMAP which is the reason I cannot send outside of the offices.
When in the office I hook into our WIFI network and I can send and receive from Mail.
Is there a solution to my problem? All help is much appreciated.

Hello Michael:
I do not have a similar situation, but I suspect that your work IT system has something that prevents using the server for outgoing mail if you are not on the premises. When I was working, I was able to directly connect to my office IT systems (and send mail too).
You might check with whoever manages your office IT operation.

E-print works on some e-mail address, but not others?

I am able to send and print e-mail print jobs from @hotmail.com and @live.com addresses, but not from @q.com (a Century Link primary domain for customers, not a corporate account). I have set up "Anyone can send ePrint jobs to this printer." These failed print jobs never appear in the ePrint Center listing of Recent Print Jobs. I have tried sending via Outlook 2010 and via the Century Link web based e-mail application -- they both return to me as bounced messages. What's going on here?

Manually adding AD user or Group mail address in SCSM 2012 R2 Configuration item

Since in our AD environment some of the AD user's mail Id attribute is null, I added the
smtp mail Address value in SCSM 2012 R2 user configuration item ,
After the AD connector synchronization, the manually entered mail Id is removed. I have also checked the property
do not write null values for the property not set in AD in the Connector properties
But still , the manually entered mail id is removed by SCSM
so is it not the correct way to add mail id manually ???

The mail Id property is required for mail notification feature in our environment

the long and short of this is that the AD connector is behaving as designed and correcting values in SCSM from the authoritative source in AD.
The connector should not be blanking values with that checkbox set. are you sure AD is actually
Null, and not either an empty string or white-space characters? Can you reproduce this with other users? Might be worth reporting this if there is actually a bug in the connector.
Why wouldn't you set the Mail attribute in AD? there isn't any good reason for this to be null.

Why am I seeing texts from e-mail addresses?

When I send a text message to some contacts in my address book I get the response from their e-mail address. It messes up the way my texts are organized. The outgoing text is to "John Doe", but when I get a response it comes in from as a separate conversation chain from "[email protected]".
How can I fix this? I don't want to see texts from e-mails. I want to see the person's name.

Adding their e-mail address to their contact info only partially fixes the problem. The text messages from them show up from their name now, but it still shows as two different conversation chains... Now I just have two "John Doe's" that I can send text messages to... one with John Doe's phone number and one with John Doe's e-mail... if I send it to the phone number I still get a response back in a separate conversation from the e-mail.
One of the people i am having problems with this from is my husband. I will try to change his phone settings and see if that fixes it.

Contacts sync with the wrong e-mail address

i added an e-mail address to my blackberry storm 9350, and now all of the contacts are syncing with that e-mail address - not the one that I want! Anyone else having this problem, and if so, how to fix it? I've gone through my phone over and over and haven't figured out a way to select which e-mail address my contacts sync with....

I have the same problem as the emails go to my iCloud account that I cannot access!!! I cannot answer the security questions as someone else must have set up my iCloud account. Nothing seems to work. It would be great if someone has some ideas as what can be done to recover the situation?

Why do I find unknown e-mail addresses when I begin to type in a known address?

I'm using an IMac and am up to date on my version of OSX, V10.8.4 and have discovered a problem with Mail. When I want to send an e-mail I will type in the address. The first letter of that address triggers a drop down box showing all the e-mail addresses starting with that letter that are in the system. I started to look thru the llist of addresses and found some e-mail addresses of people that are not in my address book and I have never sent to or received from. Where do they come from?

As the folder indicates they were "Previous recipietns". Perhaps you replied some passed around emails from friends with more than one email address in the address panel (cc: or bcc:)?

Broadcasting Wizard - Last e-mail address selected problem BW 3.5

I'm using BW 3.5, and I'm trying to select an e-mail address in the "last values selected" in Broadcasting Wizard screen, and when I click in one of the e-mail address, it results only "on", instead of the e-mail address I want.
Steps:
1. In a web report I called the context menu
2. Distribute -> by e-mail
3. In the broadcasting :
    - output as Zip File
    - Next
    - click on "Last values selected"
    - In the list of e-mail address I selected one of them
    - It returned "on" instead of an e-mail address.
Another questions:
- Is it possible to delete some e-mail address from the list "Last values selected" ?
- Is it possible to select this e-mail from a user customized list ?

Thanks for replying.
This notes reffers to e-mails address truncation at 30 chyaracters, but in my case when I access the screen where I can select the e-mail address, my default e-mail is showed ok (and has more than 30 characters).
The problem occurs if I click on the "select last values" button, and select one or more e-mail address from the list.
When I accept the selection and return to the previous screen, the broadcasting wizard show only the text "on", instead of the address I choose.
Have any idea ?

Adding multiple e-mail alias addresses to an account

Can someone please tell me how to add another e-mail address to my Mail account. I have tried using info from the Mail Help file, both "adding another account" and "adding multiple e-mail alias addresses to an account". Each time when I try to send a test message to or from the added e-mail address, I get the same message: "Cannot send message using the server mail.bellsouth.net. Use the Pop-up menu below to try a different outgoing mail server". The only pop-up is smtp .Mac.
I have tried both methods shown in the HELP file and get the same message. I would really appreciate your help.

Are you trying to add a second email account to Mail, or just add a second "(apparently) from" address to an existing account?
If the former, we need to know some more detail, like:
(1) who is the existing account, .mac or bellsouth?
(2) Which are you trying to add, .mac or bellsouth?
(3) I assume your ISP is Bell South?
(4) What are the names of the smtp servers and what are their respective smtp server port numbers?
(5) Are either of them using SSL on the smtp server?
(6) I don't remember whether Tiger Mail has it or not, but in Leopard Mail, on the menu bar under "Window" there is a selection "Connection Doctor." If applicable to Tiger Mail, what does it say about your connections?
(7) Which account can you send mail through and which one can't you send mail through?
(8) Are your receiving mail okay through either or both accounts? Which one(s)?
Now if you are trying to add a second "(apparently) from" address to an existing account, in Mail Prefs > Accounts > mail account > Email Address, just add a second email address separated by a comma like so:
[email protected], [email protected]
You could have an issue with bellsouth or .mac requiring the domain name in the apparently from email address to match the domain name of the smtp mail server.

It is not clear how or where you "added" your email, but you cannot create an Apple ID using an email address that is already associated with another Apple ID.
If that is what you did, delete that email address from your family's Apple ID. You should be free to create a new one.
Do all that by starting here: https://appleid.apple.com/
Select "Manage your Apple ID". Log in with your family's Apple ID and then delete your own email address wherever it appears.
Save Changes, log out, and create the new one using the same website. This time select "Create an Apple ID".
Please don't forget your security questions, and be sure to specify a "rescue email address" that is separate from all other Apple IDs. You will avoid so many problems that way...

if it's a message coming from your yahoo account, it means that your account has been compromised, not your phone itself. i would suggest changing the password for your email account

My e-mail has changed, but I purchashed some songs in iTunes using my old e-mail address as my account name... so when I try to play the sonngs I bought and paid for - it keeps asking me to authorize my PC first, but I don't remember the password!

E-mail address added to incoming invitation

Hello,
Last time I get more and more invitiations in iCal (as expected, it's agreed with the sender). Thet send the invitation from either Outlook or Lotus Notes. When I look in the invitation not only my mail address is in it, but also the one of my son (and the sender doesn't know him (and also not his e-mail address). I looked in the ics file I received and that doesn't contain my son's e-mail address. However when I look in iCal the e-mail address is in the list of invitees. When I accept the invitation it comes from my son's e-mail address......!!!
The e-mail address also isn't anywhere in the preferences (iCloud/mail-agende-contacts).
BTW: He uses a me.com account, I use my own web account (info[at]dkconsultancy.nl).
What happens? Anybode an idea?

Let me explain more fully.
Every time I send an e mail the address gets added to the recent recipents list automaticaly.
Thats what I want to stop happening.
I want a recent recipents list of just the addresses I choose that I actually need Yes I know that I can edit the list but I have to keep doing it and thats just pain.
So when I send an e mail to a new addres is there an app to give the option message :-
"Hi would you like me to add this new address to your list of addresses?" Yes No
Can that be done?
